If there is a war today between the Koreas, Yoon Sum Yeol already has the carte-blanche to conscript 19 year olds because it is already provided for in the law without going through his legislators to ask for permission. There is no such provision for 60 year olds, and that's the end of story. So you can theorise all you want, the law is what attains, and no country will overlook able-bodied men and start harassing pensioners. And simply put, if there is any movement in the law in Ukraine, it will be towards the young, not the old (as has already happened).

For your information, South Korea conscription age is 18. This is the law, not your speculation, so your backing premise is faulty. And you can bet if the law is revised in Ukraine, it will be revised downward rather than upward. In a modern war you first conscript the older guys if you have a demographic problem which Ukraine has. Ukraine have more older men than young when compared to a well demographic country. When 18 year olds starts getting "drafted" or "conscripted" then know that Ukraine is bleeped beyond repair for the next 2 decades at least if they ever recover. That's because you need those 18yos to have sex with the females and give birth to children who will hold the future of the country. If the 18yos die off in battle then such a country will be deepfucked demographically for the foreseeable future.

Also imagine you're an 18yo that lives with his 55 yo father and 50 yo mother and thieves come to your house. Who do you think will first confront the thieves and encourage the others to hide? The 55yo father or a teenage you?

18 is the draft age of most countries in the world, including Russia. In USA, the legal draft age is 17. In UK it is 18. In China it is 18. All major wars are characterised by calling up of men from the age of 18.

So it simply stands to reason that a country under attack like Ukraine will not call up grandpa who is 60+ without first exhausting it's draft capacity of 18-24 year olds.
