Apart from bills, it's feasible for a single man to live on £200 per month on foodstuff alone in UK (not counting transportation). This would be Spartan living though where you buy two or three types of food at start of every week and cook everything yourself.

The cheapest food I can identify in UK is one noodles pack for 35 pence and one egg for 15 pence.

So £0.50 can get you a noodles plus one egg meal. That's about N1.1k. What's the equivalent price in Naija for one noodle and one egg. That is a base comparison.

Is Rice and Chicken Nigerian food? These are universal foods.

Even if we go for cheap fast food joints, you can't spend less than £8 on a meal in the UK equivalent of Buka here (Mcdonalds). That's N20k entry price to fill your belly

Suyas main content is beef which is a universal food, so I like to use Suya for comparison plus it's my favourite food.

The Suya spice is cheap to buy here so it's a fair comparison. This size of Suya is £12 here, that's about N30k. My guy bought it for N2k this time last year, let's assume it's N5k now. That's still N5k Vs N30k.

That's because you are an infrequent user. If you followed more people, the stuff you click from Nairaland will be crowded out by the people you follow. So the more you follow one type of link, the more weighting is applied to that type of content.

Every Social Media algorithm is based on spanning trees where vertex weighting is applied to the content/sites you have seen before and based on what others are linking to. They are all modified versions of HITS, Kruskals and Prims algorithm.

So when you have more varied connections, the weighting reduces on something you randomly see whereas if you keep seeing the same type of content, it will keep increasing the weighting until that becomes the dominant content you see. It is literally living in The Matrix.

Example below - Sites A, B and C all start with weighting of 1, but because B is linked by both A and C, it becomes the dominant site with final weighting of 1.5, while C reduces to 0.5 as it only collects link from A (which splits its power of 1 evenly between B and C). So any algorithm will direct you to B henceforth

This is the Google Page Rank Algorithm which is based on HITS algorithm.

I have a friend I do culinary challenges with, and I often inquire to the price of what he is eating in Naija so I know wetin dey ground. The Suya I pay N30k here for, he will pay like N7k there for equivalent amount.
