Asking someone where they are from originally is the most common thing. Even we blacks will ask you again where you are from if you answer London or Manchester
Nirvana101: I'm not so sure with Zidane-98. If you remember correctly, Zidane didn't really light up the tournament untill the final. Not that he was poor but when you compare his exploits to others especially Maradona and Pele then you'll agree that he didn't really dominate.
If anything, Zidane dominanted 2006 world cup. All things considered including his age, 2006 was golden for him. He toyed with Brazil in the quarters. It's easy to forget Zidane-06 because, of course France failed to win and Canavro was awarded the world player of the year.
For me, Zidane-06 dominated, Zidane-98 came alive in the final. I'll go as far as saying that, Sucker dominated France-98 not Zidane. But because Croatia failed to win the Mundial, his world cup legend faded to oblivion!
History remembers the winner, if not we will add Baggio and Stoichkov in 1994, Forlan in 2010, or Cruyff in 1974. Zidane balled in 2006 but spoilt it in the final
afrodoc2: R.I.P to Sinisa Mihajlovic. One of the deadliest free kick exponents of all time. Only person i know to score a free kick hat trick.
Freekick killer. Seen him play in my first ever match I attended live which was Cup Winners Cup final between Lazio and Mallorca at Villa Park in 1999
Another thing to add, he could not have played in modern football without being chased from Europe cos nigga was a bloody racist, always abusing black players on the pitch
adamusuleiman1: 'Elon abandoned Tesla': The EV maker's 3rd-largest individual shareholder calls for a new CEO as the Twitter circus tests investor patience.
Investor patience in Tesla is wearing thin as CEO Elon Musk shifts his focus to running Twitter. KoGuan Leo, Tesla's third largest individual shareholder, tweeted that it may be time for a new CEO.
"Elon abandoned Tesla and Tesla has no working CEO. Tesla needs and deserves to have working full time CEO," Leo tweeted on Wednesday.
This shareholder should be careful what he wishes for. Tesla has always been a huge pump and dump scheme founded on the personality of Elon, with Cathie Woods Arkk Innovation fund and other Reddit investors providing the fuel for the pump based on narratives about Elon. Without Elon, there is no pump, and the share price could flatten by another 60-70% to bring it in line with the PE ratio of other automakers. They need Elon to keep the narrative going. If your stock does 10x in a year like Tesla did in a few short months in 2020, you should know this stock performance is not based on fundamentals but on the personality and narratives of the CEO pumping it
Elon has always been unhinged, which was fine and amusing when Tesla was mooning. They should not complain now. The alternative to Elon is to watch their investment revert to it's true value.
Messi can join this list, or become a Baggio 1994 performance depending on the outcome of the final. Winning the gold and performing in the final gets him on the list between Ronaldo and Rossi in no4 position. Losing the final turns him into a Baggio of 1994
Donjazet2: Seriously with all that's going on, this ftx saga, some major crypto players dying, increasing government's hostility to crypto, summarily, what do you perceive the future of Bitcoin to be like?
It would go down until Fed interest rate hikes are complete, then start to range slowly, bouncing back strongly on the next bull market in 2 to 3 years time
raumdeuter: What is the value of Twitter stocks as at today? I am not following
Edit I just saw its at $50 an almost year high. Or is there something else I'm missing
Twitter is in private hands and not listed anymore so anything you are seeing is the last price before Elon takeover was executed
Elon messed up bidding for that thing at $54 at start of the year, it was naturally going to dip to $20 before year end when he would have got better price. But I guess he needed a reason to dump overpriced Tesla stock and Twitter was a valid reason. Twitter still much cheaper in comparison to Tesla. Its like dumping MMM to buy Bītcoin, both are overpriced but Tesla share price be like MMM
Arya Starr is quickly becoming one of my favourite Naija artistes. I no dey usually listen to woman song but her voice has some deepness and extra quality. Her rhythms and rhymes are on point also
I don't believe many current popstars apart from Burna and maybe Oxlade can sing clean like this without producer effect, and certainly none as powerfully
adamusuleiman1: Tesla stock has fallen 28% since Elon Musk took over Twitter
Tesla- it's seen a major decline in its stock price since CEO Elon Musk took the reins at Twitter on October 27. Stock is down 28% since that deal closed. And it's falling again this morning after Goldman Sachs cut its price target on the company by almost a quarter, to $235, down from a prior target of $305. By various metrics, the stock is now trading at its lowest valuation ever.
Elon is the one selling, he's sold over $3.5bln this week. He didn't make up excuse this time like before when he sold tens of billions using tax argument with Liz Warren, or sold tens of billions to buy Twitter
When you have a company trading at PE ratio of 50, you better sell, the stock behaves like a pyramid scheme
Giroud should not be seen in the final. That guy always impedes pressing and dynamism and puts pressure on midfield. He is only good for small games when his team are constantly in the box
raumdeuter: Giroud no CL trophy, His last world cup was not really remarkable as he didnt have a single goal as a top 9
Pique is not at the world cup
Na lack of on the field achievement dey make Terry hustle for age 36yrs
Players like Lahm the moment they won the world cup, he retired at 31 and stopped disgracing himself upandan like Neuer has been doing.
Boateng spent his prime years winning world cup and CL and had more career impact than Terry Silva who are playing for 30yrs with zero impact
For reference Dinho DeLima all stopped playing serious football before age 30 and no one will compare them with Mark Noble who was fit and played till 40
What was Lothar Matheus age at his last World Cup? Matheus even played Euros at 39 despite being a World Cup and Euros winner
Let's be clear, Boateng didn't retire from NT, he was booted out. Same way Bayern booted him out against his wish
raumdeuter: How many years did Gotze and Schurrle spend at club side football at the top level? Boateng played at Bayern for 10yrs, Played for German NT for 10yrs as a regular for both
Was there ever a time Schurrle was a regular for any top team be it club or NT
Messi is hustling for world cup at 35 because he has not won it, If Messi won the 2014 one that Boateng denied him of, he would have retired long ago
Why are Giroud, Neuer, Busquets and Lloris still hustling for World Cup?
Pique was hustling to make Spanish squad and was on the 55 man list
Remember when you were trolling Terry at 36 and I made these prophetic comments that brainless Boateng will not smell playing top level at 36 with his lack of brain, now asylum seekers are benching him in Lyon
Ibime: At 34, Boateng should be in Maltese, Gilbraltar or Ghanaian league because without pace, he is nothing unlike Terry who was still winning EPL at 34.
raumdeuter: When people say hustle when you are young so you wont be using old age to struggle
See picture of Pique who is no longer playing competitive football vs Picture of Pepe hustling for glory at almost 40
Make hay while the sun shines Hustle o, So you wont be using grey hair and walking stick to play world cup
A convenient excuse to cover what we always told you, that Boateng has no brain and can't play high level without pace, so you want to make it seem as if he has lost motivation. Same thing Gotze and Schurrle are probably using as excuse now
TLona1: You guys are yet to address ho Garrincha was the most integral player in those world cup tournaments Brazil won decades ago.
You said has Pele ever beat Messis performance in this World Cup, I asked you if Messi scored hattrick in semi and brace in final, you are talking about Garrincha
Garrincha was the man in 1962 World Cup, he didn't play 1970
SlyFoxxProblem: Keep watching. This is the first block. A new economic and military alliance is being formed. Russia, China, India, Brazil, the gulf states and most of the emerging markets in Africa. The old Anglo-Saxon world order is going to collapse faster than previously projected.
Alliance between strange bedfellows without a unifying ideology. China and India have major military tensions, with China backing Pakistan to press India's neck. What you are hyping is just short-term convenience, or as they say, realpolitik. You would soon tell us Iran and the gulf states are part of that alliance while fighting each other in various theatres in the Middle East. If you don't have a unifying ideology, all na wash, till one autocrat start beefing the other.
