lordfalcao:You and anyone who thinks we would win the league with Jorginho as starting DM are seriously foolish |
homesteady:Which counter did he stop? Someone the referee lapped on the counterattack for Chiesas goal
|
homesteady:Because I have already seen how they gave him MOTM award in a game where he conceded 3 goals and could not award the scorers or assisters or even Modric who pushed Spain back and had a wonderful assist. I already know it's ninnies on the technical committee, the type that gave Iniesta POTM in a tournament he had no goal output. The type of ninnies who will give a DM award despite being lapped by a referee on a counterattack
|
airmark:Even the referee lapped Busquet ![]() Homesteady is this not a disgrace? No wonder Barca will be conceding 8 goals in 90 mins in UCL these days with DM that can't outrun a referee. Mind you, I'm sure the referee even slowed down so as not to interfere with the play in the box

What people need to understand is Jorginho is a player of two extremes. You can't win league with such players. When playing powderpuff teams, he can dominate possession. When playing big teams, he can't dominate but will park the bus and he will do well because his lack of pace will not be exposed in such tight areas. The problem comes when you want to win the league and are facing midtable to top half teams like Villa, West Ham, Leicester and co regularly. Jorginho in these games gets troubled in midfield to where he can't dominate, neither can he park the bus against those teams. He has to play 20 yards further up the pitch and that's where he gets exposed, neither having total control of the ball nor sitting deep enough to not get exposed. That's where he turns basket, and that's where Chelsea drop most of our points to where we are a 3rd or 4th place team. Just check how.many points we dropped against these teams last season Jorginho is never a player that Chelsea should consider making a mainstay if they want to be consistent in the league. He is simply a bus parker against big teams and a controller against useless teams. That's a tournament player, not a league player. Spain today turned him into those Slovakia and Swedish bus parking midfielders they met in the group stage. You can see how Modric and Brozovic drove Spain back in comparison. Who wants to keep battling for top4 every season should keep promoting Jorginho, till Douglas Luiz and McGinn catch him again next season. |
homesteady:It depends what you are looking for. The UEFA types will like to go with Busquet cos they will romanticise the DM who kept possession and disappeared from the TV camera view when his team was conceding goals There is a DM in this tournament for England whose team hasn't conceded. There is another DM for Denmark with three assists |
Exonerate1:81% pass accuracy from 32 passes in 120 minutes = 26 successful passes. What a disgrace |
Exonerate1:I would rather die than count tackles for a player like Jorginho playing in a bus parking system. If I want tacklers and interceptors, Jorginho will not be in my top 50 players to look for. Move him 20 yards up the pitch from the parked bus and all those tackles he does in community defending turn to escort moments. We did not buy Jorginho to park bus. |
homesteady:Polling booth award to a familiar name, just like they gave him MOTM in a game where his team conceded 3 goals and could not give MOTM to any of the scorers or assisters in a game where his team scored 5 goals. |
BlueAngel444:Since you count his passes against Crystal Palace, let's count passes now |
swiz123:Jorginho only completed 26 passes in 120 minutes of football against Spain just now. That's less than a pass every 4 minutes What say ye? |
BlueAngel444:Yeah, parking the bus as usual
|
Jorginho with a boss penalty |
Morata doing Morata things. Spineless. |
Thiago with the boss penalty |
Why did Unai Simon stop jumping around? |
Belotti scores for Citadel |
This Unai Simon jumping around dey make players mind cut. The best way to beat him is to place it high |
Nobody should ever come here posting and praising fake passing stats for our park the bus playmaker again next time he faces Crystal Palace or any small team
|
User09:That lack of being able to spin away from a man (what you call dribbling) is the reason why he is a fake controller who forces his team to park the bus against any decent midfield even Aston Villa midfield. What you appreciate is a belleface who only passes ball back to the defenders if there is anyone within 5 yards on his back. If I want a park the bus midfielder, I know where to find one and it won't be Jorginho. Tell me if Jorginho had spun out Pedri from his back two or three times at the start of this game, whether Spain wouldn't fall back. He is the reason they are under pressure in this game. It no get match where some midfielder decide to manmark Xavi. By the time Xavi spin him 3 times, he will fall back into his own half. After a while, they abandoned pressing Xavi and sat in low block every game. Jorginho is useless. |
popizaino:Just admit that Busquet is slow and stop all this shalaye. Busquet was not distracted by anything. He never stopped running nor changed direction. He was running into the channel the goal was scored from, but the snail was 20 yards behind when the action went down. |
User09:Which controller claims he's being marked and hide. Any controller worth his salt takes two steps toward the defenders, asks for the ball and uses a half-turn to spin away from the man on his back, unlike your belleface controller who only turns when he is in 5 yards of space, or he hides or passes the ball back where it came from. Those with some body strength like Mikel, Busquets, Dembele even want to feel the player physically on their back so they can use the players own body weight against them to spin away. Go and watch Xavi pirouette videos if you don't know what it means to be a controller. E no get how you want mark Xavi that he won't ask for ball. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hPA-dfq_HM |
User09:Possession starts with the deepest midfielder. Can you tell me a time in history that Jorginho is comfortable to receive the ball with man on his back and spin him out like Busquets has been doing all game? Swap Jorginho with Busquets and Spain would be the one parking the bus Listen to diehard Azzuri fan below. chic2pimp: |
raumdeuter:Not to run across to right back from further away when Busquets is already in the right back channel. He did anyway cos he knew Busquets can never make it but he was too far |
raumdeuter:Stop making excuses. The man who scored was a midfielder coming who was running through to make it a 3 v 3. It's not even like Busquets stopped to target any other player. He tried and failed, simply because he is too slow.
|
popizaino:Rubbish. You have always been myopic to the art of keeping up with runners from midfield hence never saw any problem with the likes of Mikel game. It is Busquet job to keep up with the runners from his midfield, simple. He tried to do so but failed, simple as ABC. The two men on the far left are engaged. No midfielder worth his salt will allow Chiesa run through to a form a 3 v 3 with the last defender circled and crossed.
|
raumdeuter:There were two men unmarked with the ball who is who Kante went after Snail Busquet has no excuse. He was running alongside Chiesa to stop any runners with no distraction and ended up 20 yards behind |
popizaino:Yes, escorting has never bothered you. By the time Chiesa took this shot, Busquets was 20 yards behind despite running into that very same channel Chiesa took the shot from. Say no to escorting!
|
Skimpledawg:We will be back with pics as soon as the goal makes it to YouTube. |
And Chiesa ran from that midfield with Busquets alongside him. By the time he took that shot, Busquet was still on the centre circle |
Trevor012:That's why I said Martinez made a big mistake playing 3-4-3 for Belgium against Italy, leaving Jorginho as the spare man which made his fanbois to start making noise here as he was picking up the ball unchallenged at will. Any one knows you put a man on Jorginho, he can't do nothing cos he has never been able to spin away from a man. |
Trevor012:Instructions ko, Donnaruma is looking for passes into the deep midfield position and Jorginho is hiding behind Spanish players, forcing Donnaruma to play long ball. The press is too hot for him. Even Verratti is doing better to open for passing lanes than the midfield fulcrum. This is what happens when you are a belleface controller and can't spin away from players on your back. When the press is on, you start hiding. If you can't take the ball with players on your back, you are fake controller. You can see Busquet not afraid to receive ball with players on his back, and that is giving Spain the ball. |
