Politics › Re: The National Electricity Grid Has Experienced A System Collapse. by IBreakRules: 1:05pm On May 12, 2021 |
Lazycapitalist2: The problem is
1.The grid is out of date and needs fixing
2.The Trnasmission company of Nigeria is dependent on funds raised by the DISCOS for fixing the grid
3.However, due to the fact that power in Nigeria has been charged at a price below its cost of production, there isn't enough money to fix the grid...and it needs tens of billions of dollars to fix.
4.The way forward is for every house to be metered, and power to be deregulated. Let the DISCOS charge as high as 100 naira per kwh (okay, that's too much tho)...so that they can earn a profit that can be ploughed into fxing the grid and also power generation.
Nigerians should read the PWC report on funding on power in Nigeria. For those who cannot read long story, the summary page is below.
Remeber the GSM....we paid high prices for GSM. We paid as high as 10000 naira for SIM cards alone...if not higher. They earned insane profits...and used those profits to build up our GSM network that provides the basis of our strong IT and telecoms sector.
Let power be deregulated. Then there would be no more system collapse. Is it not from this grid dey supply neighboring countries power? Why don't they use the funds gotten from these countries to fix whatever needs to be fixed? Or is there something I'm not getting right? |
Travel › Re: Relocation From Abuja To Jos City by IBreakRules: 12:17pm On May 04, 2021 |
xristos: I have done my findings I just but ofcourse no one has the monopoly of knowledge..kindly share your thoughts.
lived all my.life in lagos till.2014.Abuja since then...but thinking about Jos. I'm 36, IT professional n married with 2 kids...wife not really working. i currently work in an ingo that also gas field offices includin Jos...but my salary isnt that interesting to make me that comfortable in abuja considering the bills on my neck. we stay in a 1BR apartment in one of the villages (chika precisely) in abuja and pays abt 370 yearly.
ive visited Jos more than 5 times and i keep loving it more in each visit...Rayfield and surroundings to be precise...calm, weather friendly, fresh n affordable food, my salary wud get me a comfortable 2BR flat... navigation to/from abuja is jst 4hrs..so i feel i can apply for a relocation to our field office in jos..or at worst work from abuja and travel weekends.
i dont intend living anywhere outside Jos south/Rayfield environs
as a family man...i find it most suitable to relocate there..most esp for the sanity n good environment for my children's growth -stressfree of going to school in abuja, the hot sun, bad electricity, havin to wake up to fan my.kids at night (ofcos i have Generator)..i stay in a noisy compound that dosnt befit me..many fake foods n fruits in abuja, ..i wonder if its the same Nigeria...but Jos looks like a greener pasture for me. waduyu think?? I can relate to what you're facing in Abuja and you considering to relocate to Jos. I've always loved Jos too due to the weather and fresh cheap fruits, infact I was posted there for NYSC but had to redeploy back to Lagos where I came from bcz of the crisis that year. Hard decision to take because I also wanted to go to the film school in Jos(best film school in Nigeria) Today I live in Abuja (pyakasa) close to where you live. 400k a yr, 1 bedroom. Not easy as a family man too but I thank God for life. Your post is actually making me reconsider Jos, but getting discouraged about the unrest in Nigeria at the moment |

I live in Abuja and I can confirm this. There's a friend of mine here in Abuja who has been marketing about two private jets for a while now. One in Abuja airport, the other in Lagos airport. We were drinking one day and he told me how Pastor Enenche has been posting them about buying one from them. In his words, "Enenche no gree buy private jet, him no know say him do reach the level, na big man him be now like his other colleagues who own PJs.. him just dey post them since and dem know say he get the money."

As Nigerian and especially Africans we have our own Religion, Culture, Norms and Value before the invasion of the White men on us and their foreign religion
They came and claimed we had no religion nor civilization. But they stole our religion, civilization and gave us a book that said " thou shall not steal".
Our mothers have come from the overseas for the cleansing of the Yoruba states. May the ancestors of the Yorubas accept all their prayers.

internationalman: Girls who do this are mostly teenagers and early twenties..
To date girls like those na wahala. You go correct them tire..
Simple solution is to look for a female friend to fake call you and pour out loving words to you with the phone on loudspeaker while she listens in the conversation. But pretend to be feeling uneasy by asking her to stop that your girlfriend is around that you love her too much and you don't want to ruin your relationship with her.
Secondly fake a WhatsApp chat with another person masquerading as a girl. Make sure the picture on the profile is prettier than your girlfriend's. In the chat make sure the person pleads with you to leave your girlfriend for her with promises of doing anything for you just to date her.
Let your girl see the chat but only accidentally..
This used to work for me like magic. You should see how my girl then was feeling insecure wanting to know where I was all the time.
That's how I restored my power in the relationship then.. Relationship is game of emotion and manipulation. This is fcukd up man. You should let emotions, feelings flowly naturally between you two. In my opinion, relationship isn't supposed to be a game. |
