The increment of price of goods and commodity always start from the retailers. When the suppliers find out about the new price in market, they also increase their price and then the manufacturer end up doing the same. The circle continues this way.

Last year when I went to market to buy things, the price I heard was way too higher than the usual price. The market women told me that there is an increase in general in the price. I left her and went to another shop. You won't believe that I bought it the same price I bought it last.

Things like this occur among artisans, transporters and all other businesses you could think about.

Until we all start changing our ways, things will never get better in this country.

I believe smoking is by choice. I grew up in Lagos Island which is in Lagos state. The particular street I lived is a ghetto where smoking and drinking is common among youth. But I decide not to join the majority. I only had a few friends that don't smoke and drink.

The places you visit and the kind of people you mingle with will determine what you are most likely to see. Imagine having gangster as friends and going to club every time, do you expect to meet a non-smoker? I don't think so.

The way girls dress also determine the kind of guys that will be attracted to them. If you dress decently, you will meet decent guys who are most likely non-smoker. If you dress indecently, you will meet indecent men that are mostly smoker and alcoholic drinker.

Don't let us generalise things. There are many good men out that don't smoke. You can even see those that don't drink and womanise, but they are very few. Luckily, I'm one of them.

Most of my friends do not smoke, drink or womanise. Out of four children of my parents, only one of us drink frequently. He never drinks to stupor to start acting abnormal in the street.

In the past, Nigerians don't normally have cancer because this disease is mostly caused by chemicals that we consumed in food and drinks.

Most of what we eat then were fresh product from farm which does not involve the use of chemicals to plant. Most women cook what they eat with their family at home. The tap water functions all over the country.

But nowadays, too much chemicals in the food we eat. Most women no longer cook at home. They prefer processed food because they are too lazy. No more good water supply in the country. We buy bottle and sachet water which react with sunlight to cause cancer. Industrial waste is also adding to the problem. The list goes on.

The bottom line is try to eat as much as natural food as possible and be mindful of your health.

There are schools that follow the normal arrangements here in Nigeria. In the Lagos state scheme of work, the classes and age are written boldly there. You will see Nursery 1 (3 years), nursery 2 (4years), kindergarten (5 years), primary 1 (6 years) and so on.

Crèche is simply the baby class, starting from 6 months old to 2 years old.

Nursery is the next class after crèche, starting from 2 years to 4 years old.

Kindergarten also called kg is the next class after nursery and the class before primary 1. It is strictly for age 4 to 5.

Most schools don't understand the way the classes should be arranged. That's why they put kindergarten before the nursery class.

You can look up kindergarten in the dictionary to see for yourself.
