Depending on the University, either is acceptable but few Universities request for Academic ielts. Both is accepted by the Embassy

Good news :

DUOLINGO language test (www.englishtest.duolingo.com) will be recognized for entry to programmes commencing in July and September 2020. Please note that this is an exceptional measure due to the COVID-19 crisis and we will review the suitability of this test after the September 2020 intake.


We have deemed the following scores from DUOLINGO to be equivalent to IELTS;

In an effort to avoid delays for visa applications, the Irish universities have agreed this recognition with the Irish Naturalisation & Immigration Service (INIS) for entry in July and September 2020, only.

Impact of Convid 19 on students or Applicants :

1. Delayed admission offer / CAS ( As the case may apply) : All Universities are closed however, staffs are being setup to be able to work from home. Please note that they wont be able to work at the same speed due to some constraints which includes but not limited to access to the internet or prompt response from colleagues.
It's still advisable if you have not applied to start your process ASAP due to class limit and application deadlines.
2. For those who intend paying acceptance fee or Tuition : FX rates have increased and definitely limited avalailibilty in banks. It may be a better alternative to open a dormicillary account and fund your account by purchasing from the black market. Either way, please note that transactions may now take up to 3-4 weeks to reflect or be acknowledged by your University as compared to 4 working days we used to have.
3. Additionally, we are hopefully that Visa application will be accepted at least 3 .months before resumption. However, its better to get all necessary documentation sorted before June to avoid last minute application during peak times at the Embassy. Exceptions may apply for the UK because of the super priority visa available to them but other countries do not have this.

Exactly the point - The virus, staffs are working from home and definitely at a slower pace. They will get back to you; you can however send a gentle reminder to them on your app.

Greetings from Dublin Business School and I hope that you and your families are safe and well.

Unfortunately, due the global Covoid-19 pandemic we have taken the decision to postpone studies that were due to commence this April in alignment with all medical and government advice.

This decision was taken with the health and safety of our students and staff in mind.

However, we do plan to offer all courses in the September 2020 with the caveat that this pandemic diminishes over time whereby it is safe and practical for all concerned parties.

We will shortly issue new Offer Letters, for the September 2020 intake, to all applicants that hold an Offer Letter for the April 2020 intake.

As you probably are aware by now the Department of Justice has taken the decision to temporarily cease accepting new visa applications. They intend to resume accepting applications as soon as safety concerns abate - http://www.inis.gov.ie/

Please note that while the physical buildings of the College are currently closed, the College is indeed very much open with all units fully operational.

Current students are completing their studies on-line and the Admissions Office is open and processing student queries and applications as per normal.

I have a friend that studied Geology for BSc.

He is now into real estate for the past three years.

Please can he do an MBA or Business related masters in Ireland?

Will it affect his chances of getting a visa since he is going for a program different from Geology?

The bridge he needs is his work experience. So far he can proof he's doing great in his business and proof the relevance of the course to his business and future aspirations, he's good to go.

The key determinant being Proofs. The documents he will provide are the proof. All now depends on genuity of these docs and how convincing these docs are to the visa officer.

If you read through my previous comments, I've addressed or answered this. You need to request for a new offer / deferment for a September start date , updated medicover if this is excluded from your tuition etc and email to the embassy.

Sorry about that. Thank God your money came through.

So I contacted the school and they told men they've refunded the money in the same January I applied for it and requested I visit my banking provider.

Lo and behold the useless bank have been sitting on my money for almost two months without informing me or crediting my account. Next thing they were say was that I should write a letter requesting for the fund and even have the gut to tell me that I would not receive all the money because interest will be charged on it.

After using my money for business

I'm sure they know what they are doing in that bank

I had a discussion with Ciaran Coakley of Griffith College and He suggested that if anyone applying to them states Nairaland as their source while completing the online Application, they will be provided a designated Advisor for visa support all free of charge.

Strictly for Griffith College applicants at the moment.

DBS makes payments in less than 5 weeks . They may probably be having problems with your bank. You may email them clarifying if they are facing challenges with your bank details or is there any other reason why the refund is being delayed. Try and be polite when addressing them as well.

Guyz. Pls advice me on what to do

My visa application was refused last year so I applied for a refund in early January through my agent. Up till now I'm yet to receive my refund. The school keeps saying the refund is been processed and my agent keep telling me to be patient. The owners of the fund have been asking too many question I can't answer. It like I've received and spent the money.

Abeg is this delay normal.

Which school? refund takes 6-8 weeks for most schools.

So he translated it himself but we are aware the embassy will not accept it without a registered translator or notary.

My question is, if we get a notary stamp, will it be accepted since we did the translation properly ourselves.

Hi, I thought Visa application takes 4-8weeks. Has that changed already? I plan on beginning my application by June. My sponsor's statement of account wasn't that active in December. So, we are calculating using Statements from mid-dec to mid-june.

Applying by June means your visa may be issued by mid-September; Once you're prepared to buy expensive tickets.

Although the most important reason to apply early is in case a visa app is refused, you have enough time for an appeal.

So I have two questions

1. Do I need to apply for visa online before applying for Edubond?
If anyone can provide a step by step for it, I will be glad.

2. My sponsor is in Germany, He has paid my full tuition and wants to do the Edubond, He is doing this because it is difficult to get 6 months bank statement and translate to English in that country. But he is willing to share his work contract, Employment letter and 3 months pay slip.

I know I will have to provide my Bank Statement as this is compulsory but I wanted to ask if the above documents from my sponsor is enough for financial proof.

I will appreciate your response.

Not entirely sure I comprehend your question.

But then if someone still has an appeal decision pending at this time and its not for DBS in April, such should get new deferred offer and payment receipt from the school for September and email to the embassy asap. Else, the appeal will be refused since all schools have resumed with at least 5-7 weeks of lectures already being covered; the Embassy is aware no University will accept anyone come in at this stage.

Embassy advises visa application be made 3 -4 months before school resumes, there are also class limit on each program - e.g if your dept has a class limit of 40, once they receive payments from 40 students, your offer is void.

I'll advise by April so you have enough time to sort out your paperwork for visa apps

WRONG if you put it that way.

You are however correct that 6 moths bank statement will be submitted but the funds don't ave to be there for a period of 6 months straight.

Remember our Irish visa Application case since July 24th 2019, the emabssy in Abuja contacted us on 20th January 2020 and requested for a DNA confirmation test for my family, which was done and submitted by 17th February 2020. They acknowledged the receipt of the test results on 18th February 2020 and said the decision on the visa application will come by end of next week(the week ended today 28th February 2020), But as I type this email there has been no response whatsoever

You've been patient thus far , decision won't be sent via email Rather it will be posted to you just to be clear.

£25000 is a fair amount to earn as a graduate. Since the scheme requires Applicants to have a job offer or be on the occupation demand list , the minimum amount an Employer should be offering should not be less than 23k logically thats graduate entry salary in the UK.

Working part-time as a student , you earn £5k to £9k , so as a graduate £23k-26k aint bad. But if you intend living and working in London, £30k seems more like it
