Hi Everyone, I commend the Effort of the gurus in this thread. Guys can you help me narrow my research pls ? Is there any program I can do in Ireland costing between (4-6)Milla or less. I had a third class in my First Degree,I studied Chemical Engineering. I am ready to dulve into ICT or Business related courses.

With a 3rd class, you can get a direct masters in the UK for business related programs. For Ireland, your options are either a top up degree i.e a 1 year BSc or a pre-masters program + MSc route at Griffiths College.

Its just last year i got to know about Ireland, just recently got my visa, ive given you a great response, seems other members are really engaged. Try DBS, theyre dishing out admission letter without IELTS, Application fee and other itch, a friend of mine i met here tried his and got his own IN THREE DAYS. The fees isnt much sef. the course youre searching for is like 4.2M. The only itch is your engineering bsc, you have to convince them youre able to cope and you have background in IT.

Try DBS, theyre dishing out admission letter without IELTS -- this is totally not true. DBS requires IELTS and definitely won't accept 3rd class

Since everyone wants ICAS to provide free counsel and then go to other agencies, not sure why I should waste precious time though

ICaSNg, Chiggsglover, Abuhusna1 and others, thank you very much. The 5 Yr ban has been rescinded and they have asked me to officially submit an appeal. I contacted the UKVI and the Irish embassy.. they concluded there was a mix up with dates and I truly had just one refusal in March.

please as much as I need the information urgently it is very important..... what is the whole cost implications involved... okay lemme narrow down my question... After paying for your tuition fee whether full or part payment, do you still need to have some amount of money (like block chain account) that caters for wll your expenses..?. cos I know after turion fee amd all payment u should have extra personal travelling allowance (PTA) which could be like 3000 euros... but for another additional fee I don't know about that hence my question... Yes Boss. Its a compulsory requirement for visa application but then not all schools require it for an admission offer to be issued.

You need facts to fight this, 1st thing to do is

Defer your admission offer ,

request for your Visa application record / history from ukvi (Google ukvi compliant)

Then send an appeal to the Irish embassy

Sorry you have to go through this.

There may be a mix up in the dates and purpose due to new staff in training (I guess at the embassy), however, have you had any refusal or even at least applied to the UK or any other country before?

Hi guys, been following this group for a while. Will like to pass this piece of advice for those that might need it. I will strongly advice aspiring Ireland students to look into other countries with better opportunities. I just moved 3months agos, and my little experience is not fantastic. Firstly, we are over 100 in my class (Msc), they keep giving you crazy assignments ( you are practically self-learning), the accommodation is very expensive and scarce, there are no jobs( part or full time) or better put very hard to get.. I know everybody has diff story and experience, but if you find this useful. Kindly, channel your resources, time and efforts to a better country. Thanks

Am guessing you're in Griffith and also studying one of those popular courses- International business and the likes thats why you're 100 in a class.

To cut the long story short, you discovered on arrival that abroad aint heaven- but then even the bible says: kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

Difference between Nigeria and Abroad is structure. So focus and gear up- All the best

It's a Pgd/Msc program for one year.

After accepting, confirmation will be emailed to you.
Payment of Tuition fee - TUD is top 10 in Ireland, an offer becomes void once they get payment on the number they need for that class.
Tuition for TUD goes up to 14,500 euros from September 2020 on most courses to 34,500 euros on other courses.
Medical Insurance is included in their tuition fee.
After receiving payment confirmation from your school, start your visa app.

I Received it today!! (NOTE: UPS estimated delivery date was on Monday 16th, but I put a call through their customer care service and requested for it to be delivered today)

Firstly, I want to give all the glory to God almighty, because when I begin to think of all the stress I went through and whatnot for this application, The times I was refused Canada (twice) and USA (Twice) visa. The last refusal was the USA which was in Abuja. Mhen I felt like the universe was against me, wetin i no think that time...... but look at me now shinning my teeth and rejoicing for Joy.




Thanks to @Chiggsglover my real guy, chai this guy gave me reasons to still believe that mine would come out positive, @ICaSNg thanks for your input concerning my application, I am more than grateful and to others going out of their way to do the same, the Lord will reward you.

Please I will like to ask about Eurobond, by agent said I can use Eurobond for my visa appeal since there was a section that called my attention to insufficient funds.
The question is, will I have full access to the money in my Eurobond account so I can send it back home?

If asking for Ireland then I guess yes but this may take 3 to 6 weeks to sort out.

The best approach to anything in Life is thorough research .

One thing I do tell anyone who cares to listen is that, if pursuing a 1 year masters program abroad choose something closely related to what you've studied for BSc or probably if you've had at least 4 -5 years of work experience in such field or area of study.
Masters is just 1 year you don't have time to be settling or learning 95% new things on such program.

Please find a course you are passionate about, find schools offering such, check out the course structures , carry out more research on whats expected of you as a student or graduate of such course by Employers (i.e skill sets you are meant to have by the time you graduate).

At the end of the day, you don't want to end up wasting over #6m on a course Nairalanders suggested to you.

Studying abroad is a lot of work, Tutors will tell you they are not there to spoon-feed you or hold your hands . You have lectures, course-works, group course-works , personal studying and then working part-time; thats when you realize 24 hours is not enough for 1 day. The only thing that keeps you going eventually is the passion you have for the course.

Thus, go carry out comprehensive research and choose wisely. All the best

Hi folks. I got admission at DBS and Visa has been approved, I've considered my options about accomodation.
For hotels, too expensive.
For hostels, very affordable but the issue is moving my load up and down. And living with other people isn't very safe and comfortable, before someone lose valuables. I'm a very light sleeper, NYSC camping that was three weeks wasn't easy.
I was thinking of flat share, lemme know I'm moving straight to the place. If you have anyone looking for roomies, pls don't fail to reach out, I need it ASAP. I'll save a whole lot if I can get an opportunity like this. Or if there's a website you used, such info will be invaluable, I've applied to several online like roomgo,....don't know if they trust person way never land yet.

There's no easy way around this unfortunately, Accommodation in Dublin is expensive.

Unless you have a very reliable friend currently in Dublin who can view properties on your behalf and make recommendations, I'll suggest you book a temporary hostel for a week and then start the process on arrival.

Finally plan that the minimum rent for a single room in Dublin will be at 450 euros a month . If you want a bit of class, then 550 euros per month and finally for premium en-suite private single rooms in university hostels ( you only share communal areas e.g sitting room and kitchen) then this costs 850 euros per month to 1000 euros per month.

You can carry as much as equivalent of 10k dollars cash. You can then open a bank account here once you're done settling down. To open a bank account you need a residential address and a letter of introduction from your school. In most cases you would not get the letter of introduction until you can prove you have a permanent home address. You can't just walk into most banks to open an account (Them no even plenty), especially in Dublin, you need to book an appointment and it takes at least a week after your appointment to get your account opened. The good news though,
In my case, my gt bank master card still works on pos systems here. I use it to pay bills and get charged at standard Nigeria rate.

Absolutely correct and right on point. Visa or master-card can be used to make payment in over 100 countries and you are also permitted to have in your possession $10,000 or its equivalent in Euros when travelling , but make sure you declare the total amount you have on you.

DBS has a standard 1,000 euro discount on all programs. They will also be accepting 6.0 in Academic ielts for most MSc / MBA programmes in lieu of the former 6.5.

Visa application requirements still remain the same for Jan, Feb and April 2020 start dates .

It is however worthwhile to state that, if you will be sponsored by any friends / relatives and you don't have concrete proof of relationship to such or you or your sponsor don't have enough proof of employment or supporting documents on funds in your accounts, PLEASE desist from applying to the Republic of Ireland .

The United kingdom is a better alternative , as you are only required to present 28 days bank statements.

I need some information. I have been awarded a scholarship to undergo a 4-year structured PhD at NUIG. I have also received my acceptance letter from the admission office stating clearly that the scholarship will take care of my tution fees and I will still have an excess of €1000pm all through the four years. It was indicated in the conditional mail sent to me that they are expecting me with my family. I would like to know in applying for join family visa for my 2kids ( aged 2 and 4) and my spouse, how much do I need to have in my account?

I once had the opportunity to speak to a visa officer about PhD students applying for study permit with their family; The visa officer advised that the student should apply for their visas first , once approved and settled in Ireland with respects to their long term permit -IRP and appropriate accommodation that can take their family member amongst other visa requirements to be fulfilled, such can then request or invite their family to join him/her.

When applying for your visa , despite the fact that they won't be moving with you immediately you are expexted to still show proof of funds that can sustain you and your family whilst away- a single student is expected to show an equivalent of 3m, married with children should show more. Your wife's means of employment of livelihood should also be on record including her salary bank statements, your tenancy agreement etc.

Finally, when requesting for your family to join you later on; you should be able to show at least 13,000 to 15,000 euros in your Irish account or Nigerian equivalent : 7,000 euros for your wife, at least 3,000 euros or 4,000 euros on each child.

Number of weeks used in processing your application does not determine your visa approval or refusal. Just pray that all documents submitted is satisfactory.

I wanted to share this article about finding "work permit sponsored jobs" in Ireland after graduation ; No one promised it will be easy, so weigh out your options well before delving in. And this is not just Ireland, same applies to the UK, US , Canada , Australia - the only advantage to Canada and US is they currently do not have a cap yet on how many years you can spend on a study permit.

E.g; UK is capped at 7 years exceptions to if you started from Bachelors and intend completing a PhD program.

My point is we keep trying , pray and make good use of any opportunity at hand- But in all, lets carry out comprehensive research about what these countries are offering first but bear in mind that our country let us down and for Foreign countries, Education is their Oil.
