italo: There's no need of the usual rigmarolling.

Jesus said "...then come and follow me."

That is to "do" something. Not to do nothing.
You are still not getting it.
Since he wanted something to DO,Christ told him what he must DO,to follow Him.which is impossible for any man to DO,to inherit Enternal life.but very possible through God.

Ubenedictus: Wow!!! This is a delicate topic but very clear. How i wish the person who quoted those paragraph from the cathechism read and understand them. The priest absolves sins by the power given to him by christ when he said 'whosoever sins you forgive are forgiven whosoever sins you retain are retained'. The protestants lost that power when luther lost his priesthood. Im sorry that your pastor cant exercise what christ told him to do. If you have any question please write one question in one post and be polite so i can answer one aspect at a time. Please one aspect at a time dont put two together.
But you are a chosen PEOPLE,a royal PRIESTHOOD,a Holy Nation...1ptr2:9.

Every Christain is a Priest on to God.
Thats the reason we do confess our sins to eachother.

Christianity Etc › Re: How Can We Attain Salvation?the Ultimate Goal In Life by ichuka(m): 1:41pm On May 30, 2012
italo: Not exactly.

The rich man calls Jesus "good teacher", but Jesus is not merely a good teacher, he is God. That's why Jesus says "why do you call me good?" 'Only one is good.'

Its more like saying "are you accepting me as God or not." "If I am 'good', then I'm God but if I'm not God, don't call me good"

That why Jesus mentions only commandments not directly related to God. He leaves out the ones directly referring to God. He is to capture them all later by saying "then come and follow me", because he is God.

The rich man did not follow him only because he didn't want to do away with his possesions and he did not realize from the discourse that Jesus was God.

Later, Jesus says its difficult for a rich man to enter heaven but "with God its possible"

How does a rich man get with God? By following Jesus.

But, even to follow him...is to DO something.
How do we follow Him? Is it by trying to keep His Commandments?
Man can never please God,all our so called righteousness is an affront to His Cross.
Thats the reason He came in the first place.
The law was NOT given to man for him to keep/uphold it.God gave us His laws in the full knowledge that it would be broken completely us.so that we would know that we are trangressor and sinners.
Its the sick that needs a doctor( Christ).
The Commandments/ the law is like a thermometer that leads us to seek for a doctor.the thermometer cant heal us,it only point us to the healer.

The first and supreme fact in the virtue His Blood is its untainted sinleeness in His nature.there has never been another who was such.for it was God that came in Christ, can we charge God with sin?can we lay sin to God's charge,to God's account? It was God in Christ, the absolutely and altogether Holy One in whom there was no sin,who came in incarnation, and the virtue of that Divine nature in its perfection Satan in his authority is defeated on that ground.we recieve by Faith the virtue of that precious Blood;that is,the perfection of the Lord Jesus can be put to our account.that is Grace-the wonder of the Gospel.
The defeat of Satan and the victory of the saints is not by our effort, our straining, our groaning, nor by anything we do.it is the measure of our Faith appropriation of the absolute perfection of Christ for us as a living, working thing of God on our behalf.it is a great thing to be in Christ Jesus.........

naslinks: MEDITATION OF THE DAY(Scripture:Mark 10:17-27 )
THEME:HOW CAN WE ATTAIN SALVATION?THE ULTIMATE GOAL IN LIFE

The rich young man approaches Jesus urgently, and upon reaching him falls to his knees. He has something important on his mind. He asks a question, ‘Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?’ (v. 17).

Jesus’ answer is simple: he indicates that it is necessary to keep the commandments. He makes the close connection between eternal life and obedience to God’s commandments. In Veritatis splendor Blessed John Paul II expounds this truth: ‘God’s commandments show man the path of life and they lead to it. From the very lips of Jesus, the new Moses, man is once again given the commandments of the Decalogue. Jesus himself definitely confirms them and proposes them to us as the way and condition of salvation’ (para. 12).

Yet the young man is brought to the realization that something else is needed of him. ‘Jesus looking upon him loved him, and said to him, “You lack one thing; go, sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me”’ (v. 21). These words have surely been responsible for the deep commitment to Christ of many men and women throughout the ages.

It is not for all of us to renounce everything we own in this way, although there is a close link between our attitude to the things of this world and following Christ. The more we become attached to the material the less we yearn for the spiritual, and yet the more we taste the spiritual the weaker is the hold of the material.

The evident weakness of the rich young man produces in him sadness. It is only as we too come in touch with our own inability to change ourselves that we can tackle the pride that is often at the heart of our love for the world. It is the work of the Holy Spirit which allows us to see our frailty and provides the grace humbly to turn to Jesus. There is surely power and grace to change if only we will humble ourselves before God. He will never turn us away; in fact he desires nothing more than to free us from the hold that these transient and fleeting desires have upon our lives.

PRAYER:Lord, grant me the courage to divest myself of all that stands between yourself and me. There is nothing that I possess that is worth more than my relationship with you. Help me to be poor in your sight.
The Rich man was wrong in his acsertation.we dont "do" to attain enternal life.
Our Lord Jesus Christ explained to him that it is impossible for him to "do" to attain Enternal life, since he have been "doing" all his life, there's nothing he can still "do" to attain it.
Though its impossible with man,it is very possible with God.
Christianity Etc › Re: Mountain Of Fire, Fall Down And Die Prayers by ichuka(m): 10:21pm On May 27, 2012
Ubenedictus: good point, my bible also says 'test all spirits', Jesus says in the book of John, 'the spirit will glorify me...he shall take from what is mine'. The holyspirit is also the spirit of christ that is y he says ' i shall ask the fada and he shall send u another paraclete'. the spirit cannot and doesnot contradict Jesus because Jesus word becos he is the spirit of the son, Jesus say 'pray for ur enemies' he didnt say pray against them. He said love ur enemies he didnt say hate them. St paul futher clarifies that the best thing you can do against ur enemies is to for them. By this i am saying that any spirit that contradicts the very words of Jesus is not the holyspirit.
Our God is not a God of disorder but of peace...1Cor14:33.
Apostle Paul said that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the spiritual forces of evil in the Heavenly realms..Ephns6:12.
There prayers have little/nothing to do with the physical.
Like i said in my first post, its the total separation of all thats not of God in their lifes, the only means for a complete separation provided by God is death(Calvary).
Sir,there's no other way,if we dont die daily, how can we live and bear the fruits of the Spirit...Luke9:23-24.
Our Lord said "I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies,it remains only a single seed.but if it dies,it produces many seeds...Jhn12:24".
Whatsoever thats not of God in our lives must die or be cut of...Matt5:29-30.

Ubenedictus: spirit is immortal it doesnt die. Spiritual death is another word i use for the effect of sin. When i say spiritual death im refering to the passage that says 'the soul that sinnest shall die' die is also the word God uses to warn adam. It doesnt mean that soul are mortal it imply a seperation from God the source of life. So when a soul is seperated from the source of life it lacks spiritual power and that soul is said to have experience spiritual death. I didnt say a soul is mortal dont misunderstand me.
good questions, i know christ and i have already given my life to him.
i think you are trying to insult me. Please if you have something to say about the points i raised point it out, please and please dont speculate about me. How do you just assume that a person is not born againhuh What do u understand by born againhuh?
If you want to go around pray for your enemies to die, just remember christ words that says love your enemies. In this world there will be evil people and your job as a christain is to convert not kill them
Apologies sir, my point is that we should let them be...For the Wind blows wherever it pleases.you hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going,so it is with one born of the Spirit..Jhn3:8.
Sir,the Holy Spirit is in charge of these despensension,we should be submissive/obedient to all His activities in our lifes.
There's nothing wrong with that mode of prayers, long as the Holy Spirit is the custody of the gathering.

The above statement shows us something very clearly.that the way,the truth and the life that God has given us is Christ.through Christ we go to the Father.in God's eyes, everything that has to do with God is Christ, who is His Son.this is why He said,"I am the way,the truth, and the life;no one comes to the Father except through Me"what God has given us is just Christ.
The characteristic of Christainity, the root of Christainity, and all its depth and riches are contained in the knowledge of the Son of God.its not a matter of how many methods we know or how many doctrines we have or how much power we possess.but how much we know of God's Son.if we know God's Son,we have the way,we have the truth, and we have the life.our power comes from our knowledge of the Son of God.God has given us His Son,not many individual items apart from His Son.the crux of the matter lies in our knowledge of the Son of God.........

Romns11:36....says"For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things to Him be the Glory forever!Amen".
According to God's desire, plan, and redemption,He has ordained that His Son,our Lord Jesus Christ,be all spiritual matters and things.when a man touches Him,he touches the reality of all spiritual matters and things.after a man gains Him,he gains all spiritual matters and things that God has prepared for him.but man has replaced Him with many so-called spiritual things.although these many things,in man's eyes, belong to Him,they are nevertheless not Him.rather, they are a replacement of Him,therefore, they do not render man real help in his spiritual life.
We(Christains) are facing a serious problem today!!What are we pursuing?what do we know, and what have we gained in the spiritual realm? Is it Christ,or is it something else?if it is Christ,we are touching the reality that God has ordained for us,if it is something else,no matter how "good" and "valuable",we are merely touching vain and unprofitable things!.
Today Christ is in the Spirit.in order to touch Him,we must be in spirit.we can use our mind, our natural zeal and cleverness to touch things which are apart from Him.but in order to touch Him,we need God's revelation.we have to look to Him for His Mercy and Grace......

Verse3:1 says,"By night on my bed i sought Him whom my soul loveth:i sought Him,but found Him not"
Her Beloved seems to have hidden Himself.this is something unexpected of her.the purpose of the Lord is to utilize her desire for fellowship in her feeling to attract her so that she WOULD GAIN WHAT SHE SHOULD GAIN.because she has lost the feeling of His presence, she thinks that she has lost the Lord.she does not yet have the knowledge or experience.Hence, she is foolish;she does not understand the Lord's intention.she seeks for the One whom her soul loves.she thinks that she is seeking for Him,not realizing that she is actually seeking for the FEELING OF HIS PRESENCE.her seeking is Genuine, but she does not realize that the object which she seeks and fails to find is not the real thing.

FAILURE AND RECOVERY.2:17.
Verse17 says,"Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or a young hart upon the mountains of Bether".
By saying this, she recognizes the existence of "the shadows" in a disguised way,she knows that she has not been fully joined with the Lord.she ask the Lord to wait until the shadows flee away.she is looking for the day to break.the word "turn" on the one hand, shows her inability to hear the Beloved's call and to rise up and follow Him,and on the other hand,it shows her desire for the Lord's presence(she wants Him to be with her on her own terms WITHIN THE WALL) she is seeking after pleasure in her feeling, and she is reluctant to participate in any activity in Resurrection.she asked the Lord to "turn" as fast as "a roe or a young hart upon the mountains of Bether"(the hindrance of separation between them)so He can always be with her behind the hindrance.but the Lord's way of training her is to take away her inner feelings of His presence when she cannot carry this presence to the environment in the world(if we cannot secure Christ's presence in our environment,we cannot secure it in our feeling's for long)she thinks that she can embrace the Lord between her bre**ts all night long, just like she did before..in chpter1:13.little does she realize that the Lord has left in the night.
The Lord takes away her cherished feelings so that she will lose her feelings of His presence(though not in fact). This is for the purpose of drawing her to seek after the Lord in OUTWARD THINGS.This is the first time she is attracted to turn outward.

Pastor Kun: Exhorting yourselves in lies and deception. False teachings must be stamped out of the church no matter whose Ox is gored. Jesus christ never condoned the hypocrisy of the religious leaders of his time (pharisees and saducees) he exposed them. he also warned his followers to be wary of false teachers and not tolerate them. He made it clear he would deny them on the last day despite the fact that they preach in his name. It's easy to say one should not judge or rebuke them bu the truth is that these charlatans are leading millions f believers to damnation. The question begets: is it right for us as christians to keep quiet and watch Preachers rip off and deceive believers just becuase the preacher wears the toga of a MOG? All false teachings and teachers in the body of christ must be exposed. It is very unchrist like to cover up for them.

"He feedeth among the lilies" Although the matter of work is touched here, the emphasis is not on the way the Lord deals with the flock, but on the relationship between the Lord and the lilies."the lilies" are those who have a pure conscience.planted by the Lord Himself, and they are the Lord's own work.(in the heading to Psalm45 there are the words,"upon Shoshannim" which means "set to the lilies"winkthe Lord is feeding the flock among a group of people. He implies that we are the liles and that He is feeding us.as long as we have the Lord,we are satisfied.here she pays attention to what He is to her.however, her words do not answer the Lord's question...

When i saw that "THEY" were not acting in line with the truth of the Gospel,i said to Peter in front of THEM ALL.....Gal2:14.
Paul rebuked Peter with his cohorts(a delegation of Jewish Christains from Jerusalem)that are not in line with the Gospel truth.
These verse have nothing to do with public rebuke.
It was an in-house rebuke.
