Curtisaxel7: Good one.
He's the only decent player in that U-30 team. Strong tackles, good defensive awareness, good height, physicality and confidence on the ball. If he works on his passing ability we may have a world class CB on our hands in no time.
Plus, I think the time has come for Leon Balogun to be slowly eased out of the team. Also Igho Ogbu. What gladdens me most about Ogbu is that he was among the Manu's 2017 U17 that passed the MRI. Meaning he is really young and playing with so much maturity and excellent sense of judgment. This is why it is very important for us to always raise at least a descent U20 Team. This to me is our best bakery for the SE. |

Do we really believe in "Juju" in football? Osaze Odemwingie, a former Super Eagles forward in a new interview said that 70% of African players use juju as he recounted a past experience.
ho was raised in Russia, recounted how he was taken to a shaman (native doctor) instead of a medical doctor after he sustained an injury on his hand. He went on to disclose that it is not a rare occurrence among his colleagues to use juju instead of a medical doctor. He told Championat;; “Just at least 70% of players believe in it. They think that some kind of salve will save them. This is more suggestion. Brainwashing goes. But three years in Nigeria have been helpful to me. They called me to the big league, and there my career developed much faster.” https://unclesuru.com/2019/02/21/osaze-odemwingie-says-70-of-african-players-use-juju/ |

That was why I said not more than 1 or 2: Mikel, who was also part of that earlier team and one of the CBs, Ekong probably. None of our Full backs is near Taiye Taiwo and Chidi Odiah. |

Meanwhile elsewhere Utaka, Nsofor, Makinwa and Osaze were also hitting the back of the net. And all those players were in the SE team at the same time! Why will someone always attacking a playing with his champions league stats ?
He is always blind enough to see that the boy is trying
Always attacking the boy with champions league or accusing him of playing in turkey ,saying he should leave turkey
But this same guy know onyekuru is there for a season long loan and he just want him to leave as if the loan don end ,he has forgotten that this same guy is an Everton player who is having work permit issue . That does not necessarily mean he hates Onyekuru. Some people don't actually fancy or rate some players. That's just it. |

Onyekuru should leave turkey when his one year loan deal is yet to expire ? Why can't you wait for his loan to end ,Everton want to even have him back but still work permit issues
You keep on blabbing he should leave turkey as if the guy has been there for 5 years ,onyekuru has just been at turkey for 6 months oga ,wait make him loan expire then you can continue your childish ranting
Onyekuru is 21 years old so he is still young . |

francophone countries in general always produce good players than most African countries... but to achieve something with them is an issue Mali are also Perennial under-achievers. But when two under-achievers meet in a final the less under-achievers will be favored. Mali though are beginning to come out of their under-achievers status, though at age grade levels. But at senior levels they still largely remain under-achievers. |

They have always been referred to as "the perennial under-achievers". They have again proven that tonight. |

ChrisKels: Qualification for WYC is a unique achievement. Specifically, I was writing about team play, talents and techniques, not Qualification.
Our team-play lacked pattern and we were so predictable, hence we easily got nullified by our opponents. No achievement
Technically, we were poor all through. No achievement.
Talent wise, Igoh and Ozornwafor impressed. The only outfield players with basic football intelligence. They look to have a future both professionally and in the senior national team. "major" achievement
Yes the goalkeepers can be said to be achievements buh they were not really tested, even though Oremade looked assured. Hence I dont consider them "major achievements" but "achievements"
About ur last paragraph, if Nigeria had played Senegal, u would have been here giving excuses as to why they couldn't break down Senegal bkus of the poor pitch. The pitch was poor, yet Mali took to it like a duck to water, what stopped Nigeria from being Mali, maybe the Nigerians were brought up in Europe where great pitches abound? Oga u said we should watch out for Senegal and not Mali. Mali that we out-played were better than Senegal for the most part of the 90mins today. But did Mali that "took to it like a Duck to water" win the game during regulation time? Was that not the same result Nigeria got? If u refuse to acknowledge that the quality of that pitch affected both teams today more especially Senegal then you are being totally dishonest. I am not saying we had a Super team. But my points are that team is not as bad as you are painting it. I have already highlighted their areas of strength and weaknesses earlier on. And secondly the ground condition was very poor and this affected virtually all the teams in the tournament. You attributed Nigeria's penalty misses to poor quality of the players but can u also say same for this Senegalese team which could only convert 2 out of 5 spot kicks? |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Icon4s(m): 9:34pm On Feb 17, 2019 |
ChrisKels: It is not one of, rather, it is the only major achievement.
A team that could only score a total of 4 goals in open play in 5 games (2 of those goals were flukes), IS THAT ONE A TEAM? Just like 0.05 goal average per game against African opposition; what will they do against European and South American oppositions? No natural goal scorers. No prolific player that could score in the whole of 90 minutes. So u don't consider WYC qualification as a part of the achievements? What about the goalkeepers? BTW which 2 goals were fluke goals? Emm please Mali the evetual winners how many goals did they score? And please what do you think happened to Senegal today? U were going to use them to show us how to play on a potato pitch |

meanwhile Ozornwafor (CB) and Ikuowem Udoh (LB) made the Tournament XI Ozornwafor-Ogbu CB pairing is one of the major achievements for us in this tournament. We need to see them against top tactical European and South American sides at the WYC. But so far they have been excellent. |

meanwhile Ozornwafor (CB) and Ikuowem Udoh (LB) made the Tournament XI Big both geographically and population wise. At least they are more populated than 70% of all countries in Africa with a population of over 20 million. Smaller nations like Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Rwanda, Seychelles and Mauritius boast of better facilities. I agree their GDP is nothing to write home about but why bother to host when u don't have the resources and capacity? Well, it is CAF I will blame. |

BascoVanVeli: That pitch took away so much gloss from the tournament. They should have used the artificial one as the main pitch Men .....a state in Nigeria can host a better tournament than this. Please CAF should mind the kind of places they take these tournaments to. To be honest I didn't enjoy this tournament. I was expecting better Football than these but the pitches didn't help matters. That other artificial pitch doesn't look TV friendly due to the size of the stadium and also camera position. If these are the only 2 stadiums a nation as big as Niger can boast of then they must be very very backward infrastructurally. Senegal played better on that artificial pitch but struggled on the Potatoes Niamey pitch. Only Mali seemed to have mastered that bad pitch probably because of their direct style of play. And they may also be used to such back in Mali |
