Mickael2 just criticises. I have never seen him take a non-critical position on any issue.

After criticizing Rohr before the Algerian and Argentinian games and predicting losses in both games. My guy did not even give credit to whom it is due after we managed not to lose both games.
And u get to Wonder why he is tagged an enemy of Nigerian football.

Mickael2:
grin grin you see me as I no dey talk am again bah?

But where I have an issue is when people start tagging you an automatic hater in any debate you enter. If na Nacho debate we dey, tag me a hater and I will tag you a fanboy and laugh about it and move on, but just because I said a tackle like Onazi's own may not always be a red card offence I am now tagged a SE hater. Normally I wouldn't expect anything less from theGoodJoe but even Icon4s is part of the crusade now. I do not mince words one bit, so Icon4s, you really really disappointed me there. I was arguing entirely on the instance and somehow you brought in the fact that it was Onazi and that was the only reason why I was talking which was purely false, even BascoVanVielli who always argues for Onazi got the point and I want to believe that tbaba1234 got the idea too because he alligned his points with the instance and not the player.
The intensity with which you defended that Ref's decision left me wondering if you are a Nigerian.

On Onazi's person, I remember, I don't know if you recall, that the first argument I had with you was on him.

Remember that "Chemistry between him and Mikel talk"? Yeah.

When a negative comment about a player keeps reoccurring over and over. And when he has a good game you don't even show up on the thread to acknowledge then you are giving room for peeps to think you have something against the player.

I used to defend you when people tag you as an enemy of Nigerian football or a hater of certain players but that yesterday you made feel I was wrong. So don't blame me for it.

I think it should be a walkover. And a paddy who watched the game said they were 11 but didn't have a bench but not 10, you shouldn't be able to start a game with 10 players and that was why Etim Esin(?) once played a match without being invited
I think you are right. You cannot start a game except if you have 11 players.

I recall a friendly between Ghana and Zambia some time ago. Zambia had only 9 players. They had to search for Zambians anywhere in London. They were able to secure 3 Zambian students. 2 of them started the game while 1 was on the bench.

Zambia lost that game 4:0.

So I think you must start the game with 11 players else its a walk-over.

Oga icon4s this issue is simple,we should stop name calling and talk football if truly we are football lovers.

Imagine someone insulted your Father or Mother on the name of football talks,we just have to put end to it.It can't continue like this on the pretex that this is my player and is not my player.
Oga Kog45, we have always cautioned peeps here on names calling and I am sure you know that.

We are all wired differently. There are some people that find it difficult to change some things about themselves.

We have always preached caution and some level of restrain when we engage in certain arguments and with that most of us that have adhered to this have not had our Fathers or mothers insulted.

There are certain things we cannot completely eradicate from a public forum like this. We can only minimise such. No system is perfect. We can only strive towards perfection.

And to every member of the house it is very important that we respect each other's views. There is always room for criticism but we must learn to do that with respect.

I understand people's anger, some said there are better players that were dropped, just like icon4s said that they are all of the same quality, I can only say maybe one or two should have been added but the truth is the quality in our local league have seriously been diluted by poverty and poor administration by these clubs. Sunshine stars have been banned from registering players for the new season just because they have not paid their players for a very long time, they played their last match with 10 players and they deservedly lost by 5-0 so tell me, if players of sunshine see an opportunity with a club in even Guatemala won't he jump at it? they too have bills to pay, they too want to ride in a cool SUV. don't be surprised that before the end of next month most of the young guys in that squad would have joined foreign clubs.
Wait. Sunshine stars played their last game with 10players? This is the height of it.

you see this is where the problem lies, that you drop fact to defend a player doesn't mean I'll agree with you, defending a player is cool but don't lace your response with insult, argument on this thread is suppose to be analytical, if you have dropped all fact and the opposing party isn't yielding you can just let it go and move on and not resort to calling people names. a coach once said statistics are like mini skirt, they only reveal half of the story.
Your last sentence should go for the comment of the day. So perfectly true.

We should all call down please.

No need to point fingers at anybody. We are all here to discuss football. And on a public forum like this you will always meet people with divergent views.

I have said it before that the only person that has not been criticised here is that person that has not said anything here.

This is place where everyone is free to air his/her opinion but also know that your opinion is not Law.

I use to call some people some players' attorneys here. That is them. Expect them to come tackling when their favorite players are being criticised. So if you want to critic any of those players gather enough points to back up your comments. And you'll be fine.

Liedetector, that is it. Don't take it personal. That is how we roll here.

I want to believe this thread was created for football fans. Particularly for those in support of our national team. That my submissions do not conform to your preferences should not prick you so hard. It doesn't make my opinion any more or less superior to yours. Steer clear if my submission irks you. You don't subscribe my data and you don't feed me. You're absolutely inconsequential to my existence. Long as I'm a football fan with penchant for fellow nationals plying their trades across Europe, I'll rate those that deserve to be rated and slate those that derserve to be slated. Capisce

Calm down bro.

That is how we roll here. Most times in an argument you have to pull the weight against 4,5 at times all members of the thread.

If you make statements about a player be it positive: some will say you are over hyping the player or be it negative: some will even call you a hater.

Just be ready to back up your comments with valid points and facts and trust me by so doing you can pocket the whole thread.

It is all fun here.

Do you know what a Yellow card means? It means take caution.

That kind of tackle against Onazi you cannot just ask the player to take caution. You have to send him straight away!

You saying it was a Yellow and not a Red card offense means you are trivializing the case. That is it.

this is the last thing I will say about this. Check out that picture and from the news report check where he needed stitches. Michael2, we all here are critics. We have criticised different things about Nigerian football, our players or coaches, the NFF, and all. We all see it as due to the love of the game and the GWG.

When some people called you a hater of the national team and some players, remember I was one of those that defended you as not being a hater but just a critic.

How can you be defending such evil done against a Nigerian player and you here doing one kind of comparison with where Matuidi tackled him? Is it because it was Onazi, one of the players that have always been on your bad books, that was involved?

My brother, I am beginning to feel I was wrong about my stance about you being a hater all along.

Yes, I remember that case of Evra holding Osaze. Osaze had no business remaining on his feet at that point. That would have probably been a penalty chance.

He seeks to see us lose,... Many times he even go as far as prophesying that we will lose

Our players do well in their clubs... No commendation, no applaud, no nothing

Rather he looks out for their flaws and blows it out of proportion.

Is that the person you people are arguing with?.. Let our opponents slaughter our players on the field with knives, him and his cohorts will turn a blind eye, to them, killing our players is even better.

Mickael2:
the truth is that we were not there. We merely watched it on tele, Mikel was there so was the ref and Mikel too decided that the foul wasn't red card worthy, close scrutiny of this foul shows that it actually isn't a red card. Matuidi's second foot was clearly on the ground and his studs were not even showing, they were at ankle level. This foul is just like someone stepping on you, just that the position of Onazi's leg made it easier for his leg to bend in that horrible way, on another day if Onazi's leg was firmly on the ground he wouldn't even get a slight bruise from this same tackle
Oga, I don't know what you are saying.

90% of pundits world-wide who reanalyzed that incident called it a straight Red card.

I am more vexed with Mikel because due to his position as one of leaders of the team and also his experience in the game, he should have made the best out of that incident.

Common, we are not talking about a WAFU competition or an AFCON qualifiers. This was a Works cup 2nd round game for goodness sake's. A game we were having the upper hand in terms of ball possession and chances created and you know with France being one man down we stand a better chance of carrying the day. Is it every day you get to play at the 2nd round of a world cup?

Rohr better teaches his boys about some of these acts o. They can make the difference in critical games. Look at Kaita's case at the 2010 WC and how the Greek player made the best of it.

I was really vexed at that Matuidi vs Onazi incident and I am still pained. We were robbed.

The power of hindsight.... wink

Well, I get you but sadly Shehu could not discern the future so he couldn't have known that Brahimi would come back to cause that penalty.
Funny thing is when the whistle went, Brahimi thought it was against him thus raising his hands slightly in frustration with that expression of "not again" on his face only to turn and find out the decision was for him and was a penalty. Even he was not convinced about the penalty call... But who bloody cares? He just stepped up and buried it. grin

Hope we learn from that going into the mundial.
Nothing again mattered about that game.

Some one in the NFF made sure we lost 3-0, Brahimi or no Brahimi.

first off, you are the one who always drives it down our throat that once someone who is a professional in a particular field says something then it is exactly like that. Here is what Mikel, a DMF,had to say about the tackle(and he has definetly seen it all before)

Super Eagles midfielder, John Mikel Obi, said
a yellow card was the fair punishment for
Blaise Matuidi for his tackle on Ogenyi Onazi.
The Frenchman’s ill-timed challenge left the
Nigerian midfielder with a fractured ankle,
which required a cast and is expected to
keep him out of action for at least six weeks.
But despite widespread condemnation from
home and strong words from Argentina’s
legend Diego Maradona, Mikel has risen to
the defence of the French international,
saying Matuidi is not a d...

Maradona was just trying to use it to defend Suarez's bite
If I pour my venom on Mikel this morning una go say I wicked.

See his statement.

Little wonder why he reacted the way he did. He is not his brother's keeper at all. Even if he thought it was a fair challenge couldn't he have made a big deal out of it? He should not try that rubbish in Russia o.

Onazi was a strong young player. Mikel should just praise God that it was not him that was tackled that way. His career would have ended that day.

TheGoodJoe:
How can someone call this a yellow card offence?
I blame Mikel most for Matuidi not getting the red. As soon as Onazi was fouled, Mikel was nearby and just took possession of the ball and was about to continue playing until the ref blew the whistle for a freekick.

Mikel should have halted the game immediately raising both hands up and rushed towards Onazi as if he had just been hit my a trailer.

In taking such decisions the refs also watch the reactions of the player tackled and those around him.
That tackle almost ended Onazi's career!

Since FIFA organizes u23 in such a way that it does not fall on her free days and the players are not bound to play it,clubs can stop players from it without penalties ...i lowered my expectations in u23. Last olympics was a case in point...we had an array of talent in our pool...finally we had to go there with players that were second best except few like Azubuike, minus overage crew like Mikel.. so i think we should highlight those who fit in and not necessarily that they would willy nilly play to reduce our future disappointment,,ka Chineke mezie okwu
That's why we really need to take the U20 serious. The tournament falls with the FIFA window and so we can have the opportunity of really having the best assembly of U20 players for the WYC.

As for the Olympics the foreign clubs still released a good number of them. Eg Troost-Ekong, Musa Mohammed, Amuzie, Madu, Imoh Ezekiel, Sadiq Umar, Azubuike, Shehu, Etebor.

The game plan would be to assemble first a purely home-based team and then seek the release of the foreign based for the qualifiers. Anyone we get we run with.
