Guys bearing in mind these Pinnick Jerseys, let's say fast forward into a possible second round meeting between France and Nigeria. If France finishes first and we finish second it means it would be France Vs Nigeria.

So France will have the advantage of choosing their home jersey which is Deep blue on white. What will Nigeria were in that game?

The first choice jerseys in that instance should be our away jersey. But France are wearing a dark blue top so we cannot wear our dark green top (consideration is usually made for people with colour blindness). But also the other top is green but a lighter green with white design so that can pass. But again, France are wearing a white short. It then means we will wear the top of that Home jersey and the dark short of that away jersey. Just imagine how the combo would look like.
Hahaha

Kind look alike though.. Only change was the substitute of green shirt to white and that of he short too

We can keep on having thesame thing over and over again... Just kind bother about the away Jersey

And if you check it well.. Nike has been introducing this kind of shade green since our qualifiers but nobody talk...
Look at the Jersey won by Iwobi and that of Adepoju up above, how do they look alike?

At USA 94, It was Bulgaria vs Nigeria. So Bulgaria had the preference of choosing their home Jersey which is Red on white. Nigeria's away Jersey was white on white and because Bulgaria were wearing White shorts we had to wear the green shorts with the White (away) top

The shorts of the away jersey in USA 94 has the same green as the jersey worn by Iwobi.
Don't get it mixed up.

The home Jersey for 94 is the one won by Okocha

While the away is the one won by Amokachi

I was already quoting you when I saw this...
The jersey we wore in 1994 is replica of this one especially the one iwobi wore ...
Is that not home jersey

2. The one we wore in 1995 against england is it home jersey or away jerseyhuh?
How is the one Iwobi wearing a replica of the 94 jerseys?

And for the 95 England game, England was home so they chose their white on Navy blue Jersey. It means Nigeria had to wear the green top. Now, but the then minister of sports had earlier complained about that Nigerian Jersey when the Flying Eagles wore it at the 1995 AYC. The green of the short was too dark. So the Eagles opted to wearring the white shorts under the Green Jerseys in the England match.Besides, the English (home team) had dark blue shorts so we cannot wear dark green shorts.

Starboy was part of unveiling...

Compare with 1994 Jersey
For 94, the home Jersey was the plain green with that design just above the chest region. (The one Okocha is wearing in the pix below)

This new jersey looks more like the ones the Flying Eagles wore at the 1995 AYC and the Super Eagles wore it against England in a friendly that same year(see the pix below). But the green was plain green. That design was only at the shoulder region.

Please observe the green in both jerseys below

there is something called culture. Yes sociology teaches that culture is dynamic but there are some parts of it that should not be touched. After running around, Brazil finally came back to their old jersey and although 4th place isn't really outstanding for them at a world cup but hey, it was way more than they used to get in other years. Portugal won't go from wearing dark red to wearing.....eh.....peach, it does not work that way. This thing we are wearing isnt even green, as a male I am color blind but I do know that the name of this color isn't even green
Thank you my brother.

That Jersey is too flamboyant IMO.

It might be appealing to a certain group of people (the younger generation especially).

The jerseys are fine but that one that has a combo with white is too flamboyant. My opinion. It cannot change anything but that is how I see it.

Not that I like the Jersey but there's nothing that cannot be changed. No condition is permanent. I read one time about the history of the England football kit. They've changed several times. Even Brazil in 2002 changed. There's nothing sacrosanct about home or away color to the extent they can't be changed
Sure nothing cannot be changed. But don't expect everyone to always accept changes easily.

I think the jerseys are good to go.... Mikel loved it. Iheanacho was even rocking the hat... Iwobi was like cool

Both Nacho and Iwobi loved the outfit in the "pic below"... With Naija written stylishly at the back!

Mikel looked at the tracksuit leggings and said, "This is Nigeria/Nigerian"

Ndidi says it is nice and cultural.

Ndidi also says of the tracksuits I think... "the fans are gonna look for this..."

Iheanacho says of the black tracksuit and leggings, "I'm gonna rock this with black trainers or black shoes".

Iwobi was like... " I'm thinking White air force's" grin

Iwobi ended by saying, "They are gonna know Nigeria have arrived (in Russia)" cheesy

So dad... I think you got to calm down and just enjoy the new wind of change.... wink We are not going for fashion parade but we also gotta classy and intimidating. It is all part of the whole detailed multi-faceted psychological build-ups to the main event in Russia. So just relax... The players are not distracted... They love it.. And I think you should too... Looolll
The only major reason I will buy into it is because fans will love it and and make massive purchases of the jerseys there by raking in more revenue.

If this is true then Pinnick doesn't know what he is doing. None of these shades of green represents our Colour.

Besides, our away colour is typically white while the home colour is green.

You don't just wake up one day and change the home and away colours of a country.

In fact you may change the away colour but not the home colour.

Look at footballing nations all over the world , their home Jerseys are a symbol of their football pedigree. Look at England, Holland, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Portugal, Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, France etc. Even in Africa Egypt, Cameroon, Algeria, Morocco, SA, Zambia, CIV, Mali, Ghana, Guinea, Senegal, Gabon etc. Their jerseys are their identity.

Once you see them on the pitch they are easily recognized.

Pinnick should not in the name of fashion deface our football Identity.

Green is our home Jersey and white away. For the away he can chose black if he wants. But the home Jersey must be our national Green Color.

Another revelation from the CHAN tournament.

Look at Faleye and Enegi, 19 and 18 respectively and we say CHAN should not be for discovery of young talents.

Anyways Flying Eagles loading.... for them.

Sincere Seth too has stepped up in Turkey. Another good prospect for the Flying Eagles.

No o, Samson Siasia attended Gaskiya college. He graduated around 1982/83

St Finbars and St Greg's were highly feared all through Lagos then. But my school Cardoso high school won the 1989 Principal Cup beating those schools to it. Another good school was Araromi secondary school.

Emma Amuneke was a stand out player from that 1989 tournament. He moved to Concord FC few months after that.

A good number of our youth players then were picked from the principal cup for secondary schools and YouthSFON

I saw Peter Ogaba in Ilorin at that time and was like what, this bros is small o with oyibo nose and see how fans gathered to look at him

I saw a very young Austin Ejide keeping for Gabros against Kwara United the following week a call to national team by Onigbinde, just too young and tall

I keep on telling people a friend with real age almost made Japan 93 squad but dropped at the last minute for equally extremely young Celestine Babayaro.

James Obiorah was dropped from Japan 93 cos he was just too small, the same year he was recommended for Kwara bomber trial, honestly it took the intervention of teeming fans before he was signed cos of his age and he later turned out as the best player in that season

I have some friends that were able to make local league when they are just 17-18 years of age, some barely after secondary school.

I remember how Osaze Odewengie made his debut for Bendel Insurance in a friendly came in the second half, that month he got national team invitation and was stand by player to 2002 WC.

We still have some of them young here in NPFL and how i wish next CHAN should not be about experience but real talents cos i know we have some extremely good midfielders in the league that are better than Rabiu Ali.
Your last paragraph has been what Tbaba1234 and I have been saying all along.

Talking about age. I know a good number of players that used their real age in football. Top on that list is my mentor: Emmanuel Amuneke. For the records, he graduated from Secondary school in 1989 (Cardoso High School, Badia-Ijora). He is my eldest brother's mate who graduated in 1988. Emma could not have been more than 18/19 when he left secondary school in 1989( people dey old for school those days). In 1991(2 years after leaving secondary school) he made his debut for our U23 team at the Cairo '91 AAG. Emma was born in 1970, meaning he was 21 in 1991. That was his real age.

Talking about Peter Ogaba. That guy was really small. He really encouraged most of we young players who were close to his age then. We bare the same first name (Peter). And I was nicknamed "Ogaba". A name that followed me till I finished secondary school. Some old friends still call me that name on Facebook. Hahaha. That boy was really small.

One of Emma's siblings by name Kingsley featured at the 1995 U17 WC. Same year he finished secondary school. Another indicator of real age.

My son is 8 years old by April clocks 9 but too tall for his age and played football conveniently with 10-14 years old, play basketball with ease with state U 12 team and one of the best 100 meter runner in U 12 category.

I remember in my year three in secondary school am already a member of school team and some of my seniors are 3-6 years older than me.
Yeah, some times it happens like that.

Remember a certain Peter Ogaba(RIP)? That dude played U17 at 13 and U21 at 15. And yet competed well. Some kids are just like that. Though those are just some exceptional cases.

I watched an interview where Onazi was talking about playing with Mikel in jos.

Onazi played under 17 in 2009 so he is 25 years max. Mikel is 31. That is 6 year gap. That means when Mikel was 14, Onazi was 8.

I feel, it is very unlikely they played together unless their ages are closer.
I played football with Amuneke in Sari-Iganmu, Lagos. He was about 4 years my senior in Secondary School. What about that?

And of course in school, a class 1 student would never dare to come close to Class 5 students let alone to play football with them. But Emma and I lived on the same streer. So we played in the same team whenever we played inter-street football.

I was this kind of big kid for my age while Emma was the small type. So when you looked at us aside the slight height difference, the other major difference was the little beards on his face and muscle build.

Did I also mention that I played U12 in Ajegunle with Taribo West?

Modified: I made the Ajegunle U12 team. Hahaha, I was that good. Ajegunle, was the home of football in Nigeria. The Maracana stadium was our slaughter ground.

O pari
On the formation Rohr wants to adopt, let's see the next few friendlies first.

And I still insist that if Rohr wants to fully adopt the 3-5-2 it means a good number of our Full backs and wingers would be surplus to requirements.

I know if he is a white man trust some Nigerians fans they would make excuse for him,why are we always harsh on our local coaches and even home based players, this thing should stop, let's criticise with a balance minds.

Yes he lost the final by 4 nil but we should know it's final though the team was poor but there are ways we should knock the team not cursing.
Salisu is not as technically/tactically deficient as we paint it.

Look at that Sudan game. Apart from Ajiboye's heroics Salisu's tactics was a strong factor. Even playing one man down for about half of the second half.

He went with a team that is generally not technically gifted. The team improved with each game only to come down crashing in the final.

Overseas offers pour in for CHAN Eagles stars Faleye, Kalu Orji, Gabriel

The CHAN Eagles are already reaping the benefits of their heroics at this year’s CHAN in Morocco as no fewer than six of them are now considering overseas offers.

SCORENigeria investigations have shown that two top clubs are jostling for 19-year-old Sunday Faleye, who enjoyed to great games against Rwanda and Libya at the CHAN.

An elbow dislocation will rule him out of the semi-final and final of the tournament.
We further gathered that defender Kalu Orji could also be heading back to Europe after a short-lived spell in Albania last year as he is now processing his travel papers to Kazakhstan after he received a concrete offer from that country.

Striker Gabriel Okechukwu, who scored the winners in both the quarterfinal and semi-final has received a rash of offers from Russia, Norway and Switzerland with that of Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca already public knowledge.

Eagles oldest player at CHAN, Rabiu Ali, has also been a target of a number of clubs in Asia.
This was the second appearance of the 37-year-old Kano Pillars midfielder at the tournament having also featured when Nigeria finished third four years ago in South Africa.
And even before CHAN, Stephen Eze and Eneji have reached an agreement with foreign clubs.

Giant central defender Eze has joined Bulgarian club Levski Plodiv, while nippy winger Eneji is expected at La Liga side Villarreal.
Eneji was scouted during last year’s WAFU Cup in Ghana, from where midfielder Afeez Aremu has since signed for IK Start of Norway.
Striker Kingsley Eduwo, who qualified Nigeria to 2018 CHAN, is already banging in the goals for new Tunisian club CS Sfaxien
Ibrahim Alhassan ‘Muazzam’ and Stephen Odey have since the CHAN qualifying playoffs against Benin last year moved to Austria Wien and FC Zurich, respectively.

Who is going where after CHAN?

Sunday Faleye – Austrian clubs

Gabriel Okechukwu – Russia, Norway, Raja Casablanca

Kalu Orji – Kazakhstan

Rabiu Ali – Asia, Africa

Peter Eneji – Villarreal

I'm not absolutely questioning his inclusion.

It's just that he had hardly gotten game time of recent and his form has dipped.

If this continues (and I hope it doesn't), then frankly speaking, his making the squad won't be purely on merit

Now, I hope he regains his form. Dude worked hard for us to get to the mundial
When last did you see him play that you have concluded his form has dipped?

A Player not having regular game time does not mean his form has dipped.

A player like Ahmed Musa was written off here and people even claiming he is in the team due to quota system.

These players are professionals. They have been playing football for donkey years. Not having regular game time in recent weeks or months does not necessarily mean they cannot play when called upon. And of course they don't sit on the bench during training sessions

Where I have worries is when young players don't get playing time because they get better with more playing time and experience.

The only thing that can prevent Leon Balogun from making Russia is injury. Take that from me.
