Experience? Who experience epp? My secondary/university goalie experience should do. Just need a few weeks to get into tip-top shape.
Too busy to travel for the friendlies though. You will just see me in the WC proper. If I see you for post, I go package my grand-mama send go join the team be that. |

Humility017: it was Mali and Luxembourg... mind you those players he picked were the regular players then any coach asked to manage the super eagles w/o think that space of time will stick to...moreover both nations are no threat at all...to the super eagles even the super eagles team B players will thrash both.
I hing on the school of thought that holds...that the coach was still pretending, trying to win over the hearts of Nigerians and some nff fellas while he made up that list... remember he was eyeing the super eagles job then....and those two wins really gave him a loud mouth...to start demanding for the super eagles managerial role...so there is the possibility that he was still hiding his true colors then...the CHAN and WAFU cup tourney really gave him the opportunity to show himself and what he is capable of doing....
so unfortunate that we're playing risk wit our under 23 team Didn't Oliseh fail with his own CHAN team? Did Keshi get to play the final with his own CHAN team? Abeg u guys should be fair in your criticisms. You have shifted blame from the quality of the products of the league to Salisu. And thanks for the correction it was Mali and Luxembourg. I think Oliseh handled the Cameroon friendly. |

Kog45: Check my comparison very well,I picked their best performing match for Nigeria.
Ezenwa against Angola CHAN
Ajiboye against Sudan CHAN
Enyeama against Argentina 2010 WC
And if you want me to pick their worst match for Nigeria
Ezenwa against Ghana(WAFU)4-2
Ajiboye against Morocco (CHAN)4-0
Enyeama against Ghana (friendly in London) 4-1,hope you remember this was the match that made Berti Vogts to rate Ejide ahead of Enyeama. That Enyeama's 4-1 against Ghana is too far back to be used for comparison. It is about 10/11years now. Even FIFA ranking is done over a 4 year period with the most recent being most weighted. |

Kog45: Haba oga icon4s we have goalkeepers oh but left for Rohr to close his eyes and picked one.
1.Daniel Akpeyi
2 Ezenwa Ike
3.Francis Uzoho
4.Dele Ajiboye
5.Dele Alampasu
6.Okoye Maduka
On Enyeama,Sir just forget him and start having your trust on these six cos he is not coming back.
Pls i want you to watch
Ezenwa vs Angola
Uzoho vs Argentina
Ajiboye vs Sudan
and make a comparison with Enyeama vs Argentina in 2010 WC and let see your analysis may be we can give any of these lads go ahead though we are not Rohr.
Mind you Enyeama remain the best but i don't see him coming back so we just need to decide with what we have for now. Go through that list of fixtures again and examine the strength of oppositions and importance of the games. You can't compare any of those games with Enyeama vs Argentina. BTW why don't you compare Ajiboye Vs Morocco and Enyeama vs Argentina. You are right actually about Godwin Odiye. It's been long men.....just have faint memories of some of those things. Besides, my Papa never buy Television by that 1978. |

BascoVanVeli: I don't trust Salisu to deliver anything but boring and tactless football, a game devoid of any higher level technical know how. When he takes Rabiu Ali to the Olympics as his over aged player I expect u to also say it is because of his experience like u did before CHAN. The writing has always been on the wall but people are willing to overlook it just to make the NPFL guys look bad. Even a child would have known that u can't take only 4 midfielders to a tournament but even here people played it off like it meant nothing. U say the team was poor but 2 of them made team of the tournament and we all know awards are as a result of a good team. I didn't expect anything different from your post. |

TheSuperNerd: According to strong rumors emanating from the NFF and Journalists in Abuja....
@thenff name coaches for each of our national teams
U-17
Manu Garba - Head Coach
Jolomi Atune - First Assistant
Bunmi Haruna - Second Assistant
Ernest Salolomo - Goalkeeper Trainer
U-20
Abdul Maikaba - Head Coach
Fidelis Ilechukwu - First Assistant
Abubakar Bala - Second Assistant
Baruwa Olatunji - Goalkeeper Trainer
U-23 Salisu Yusuf - Head Coach
Kennedy Boboye - First Assistant
Imama Amapakabo - Second Assistant
Suleiman Shuaibu - Goalkeeper Trainer I thought Finidi was rumoured to have been offered one of the youths jobs? On Salisu, contrary to what peeps here are saying I trust him to deliver the goods. A man that carried that very poor team all the way to the final needs commendation. Thank God there is an age restriction to this one so no imposing of Papa Alli, Osas Okoro and co on us. What else can we do now but to support him. All eyes are on the WC now. Let us face it. But after the world cup I suggest we revisit that youth players thread. The Olympic games are 2 years away meaning only players who would be 21 this year and less would be eligible. We need to focus on those players especially the ones with quality. Our comments here go places. Let us join Salisu and other youth coaches to unravel the talents that would wear our colors in the next youth competitions. Just a quick one: Do you know Chidozie Awaziem, Victor Osimhen, Kingsley Michael, Taiwo Awoniyi, Musa Yahaya, Nura Abdulahi, Sincere Seth, Kelechi Nwakali, Samuel Chukwueze, Sadiq Umar, Ifeanyi Mathew, Steven Odey, Sunday Faleye, Moses Eneji, Ikouwem, Francis Uzoho, Maduka Okoye, and many more are all eligible to play in the next Olympics? We just need the right selection and that team would be explosive. |

Kog45: Kai,Teslim Balogun,i did not watched him playing but read and heard a lot about him.On record he was the first Nigerian to play professional football with Peterborough and QPR in England. He was a leading scorer of Nigeria team known as UK tourist team captain by Dan Ayiam.
It was after UK tourist team tour of England that he signed a professional contract, very good striker according to history with powerful shot and good pace. There was this old fable that his shot ripped through keeper's stomach and came out at the back, just to tell you how popular he was and rated.
John Chiedozie remain one of the early Nigerian to play in Europe, he had his first professional contract with Leyton Orients in 1977 and played for clubs such as Notty county,Derby county and had a massive transfer of £375k to Tottenham Hotspur second to Justin Fashanu who was signed £1M and the first black player to be signed with a million pounds in the world.
He had nine appearanced for super eagles and scored two goals but find it difficult to dislodged Segun Odegbami who was a great winger and later Benjamen Nzeakor,Uwem Ekarika and Wole Odegbami to contend with but very talented winger.
John Chiedozie was one of the early Nigerians in English league cos at at that time we have Justin Fashanu Notwich and Nottingham Forest,John Fashanu Wimbledon and Asyon Villa,Remi Moses Manchester united,John Salako Crystal palace and Reuben Agboola Swansea.
He was a face of LIFEBUOYS SOAP in the 80s and was very popular on TV in one of LIFEBUOYS soap advertisement, conferred with order of Niger(OON)by ex President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Mudashiru Gbolahan Lawal named Mercurial by great sports commentator Ernest Okonkwo,he had his football career with Shooting Stars,Stationary stores,Abiola Babes and retired in his favorite Shooting Stars in 1991.
Muda Lawal had 86 caps and scored 12 goals as DM/CM for Eagles. He appeared in five Afcon namely 76,78,80,82 and 84.He was member of 1980 winning Afcon team captain by Christian Chuckwu.
Muda Lawal remain one of the best midfield player to come out of Africa especially Nigeria and till today it is an arguments who was better between him and Sunday Olishe but those who watched both always saying Muda Lawal was better but when we talked of modern day midfielder Olishe nick it.He was named Africa football ambassador by Nigeria government for his great contribution to the game and highly recognised by CAF.
Most of Nigerians midfielders in the 80s looked up to Lawal for inspiration.I remember Ademola Adeshina comprehensive interview on Nigeria football,he said Muda Lawal was the best midfielder to come out of Africa. He said when he got his first invitation to eagles through coach Father Tiko.He narrated how Father Tiko called him(Adeshina) and Muda Lawal to his room and said "look Muda i called this guy(Adeshina)to camp to learn from you not to displace you".As at that time most midfielders find it difficult to bench Muda cos he was a genius.
Muda Lawal die at the aged of 37 but was never benched in eagles colour through out his career than spanned 11 years. He remain one of the humblest Eagles player that listened to young Stephen Keshi 22 years at Afcon 84 when Onigbinde surprisedly named Keshi as captain.
On comparison with present Eagles, well am seeing Ndidi Wifred humble Muda Lawal and Sunday Olishe soon if he can maintain the tempo of his game and be disciplined but for now he has Muda Lawal's record to beat. Good one Sire. On John Chiedozie, I first knew him as the Lifebuoy soap boy before I knew he was a Green Eagles player. " This is John Chidozi *in Oyinbo accent* (That advert should be on youtube).Though a fringe player due to the quality of wingers we had in the team then (Odegbami and Adokiye). I have said it before that most of our players of the 70s and 80s up to early 90s were greatly underrated and undervalued. If players like Segun Odegbami, Adokiye, Christian Chukwu, and Muda Lawal were to be playing today they would be in the best clubs in Europe. They would easily walk into the present Super Eagles. On your comparison of Muda Lawal with Wilfred Ndidi, I still give it to Muda. Ndidi has yet to achieve close to what Muda achieved even in his early years in the Eagles. The player that would come close to Muda is Oliseh. But you are right about Oliseh being of the modern era. Most of Yekini's goals came from Oliseh's through passes. I have not seen Ndidi doing that yet. Ndidi is more of a tackler/blocker, not surprising as he started off as a CB. If Ndidi can improve on his long passes, then he will turn out about our best DM. On Salako and John Fashanu, reminds me of those days when we were practically kneeling down for them to switch allegiance to Nigeria. Top notch analysis from you especially remembering those market value figures. Tuale baba. One more thing, you remember that story of "Thunder Balogun remember your left leggg!!!!!". Loz!!!! |

bengine: Yea I hope Nike got us covered..similar precipitation also, the jet stream from north pole is also similar to the one in russia since the earth is constantly spinning in a counter clockwise direction, also taking into account the effects of lakes around which ever city they are playing..
Most likely some days might be rainy depending on the city they would be..
I just want them to account for every possible factors that could affect player performance...I'm really hopeful for this world cup. Yeah another food for thought. But whether the Earth Rotates Clockwise or anticlockwise depends on whether you are viewing it from the North or South pole. Safer to say it rotates from West to East. Talking about the Jetstream, you are right about that. The same Polar jets streams control precipitation in the Northern hemisphere. Simple interpretation is rainy season in Nigeria is rainy season in Russia(Nigeria is in the Northern hemisphere). But the Polar Jets stream has closer relationship on North America, Europe and Russia due to their relative proximity to the North Pole. Literally speaking, we should expect rains in Russia during Summer. Good observation from you bro. But I also believe Nike technology experts should know all these and design boots with good grips. |

bengine: I hope they put the shoes into consideration also, I'm talking about proper traction for the players cos it might rain sometimes in june and the fields become very slippery.
In the past I notice most of the shoes they wear are not properly suitable for the weather, that's why u see our players slipping sometimes during games..
I'm so sure the Chan team didn't have have the right traction shoes when they played against Morocco in the final..that would have affected their play so much, not taking away the fact that the team was generally poor..
North American weather is similar to Russian weather, both are closer to the north pole, so I expect quite a bit of rain falling in June..playing on extreme wet grass no be the same for dry grass ooo..I just hope the NFF mandate Nike to give us the right kind of shoes, don't want anything that would hinder our performance.. Yeah, in terms of Temperatures Russia can be likened with Canada and Alaska but I cannot say for Precipitation (Rainfall). But I believe Nike got us covered as per foot wears. |
