Neither Enyeama nor Rufai were drama kings My major concerns with Ezenwa is his minimum international exposure. |

Shukusheka: Crazy ass top corner save by Ezenwa to deny Angola a goal. Truth be told, Ezenwa has been impressive in this tournament, why doesn't he put in composed performances like this for the super eagles? Ezenwa has always made good saves and has been fairly composed. His only sin is he is not tall and doesn't deal with crosses well enough. |

TheSuperNerd: Yes, he did have a fine game on the overall. Even nailed an 82% passing accuracy in the final third.
Puel already said he is not sending Nacho out on loam this January that he needs him and will possibly give him more gametime this second half of the season. Well, I am looking forward to it and hope he is not just restricting Nacho to Cup games.
For the World Cup, I still feel Ighalo is our first choice go to Russia. And he is Rohr's first choice too but depending on the formation employed, we could see Nacho start too like in a 3-5-2. It all depends on tactics now to determine who starts and who sits on the bench but on the overall, I still feel Ighalo is first choice. Nacho is next in line.
And yes, Iwobi, VicMoses, And Iheanacho are super keys to the Super Eagles attack... with a Mikel behind them. I know what you are thinking.
I know how much you are loving the melody you hear when you imagine the music produced by the Mikel behind Iwobi-Iheanacho-Moses combo...
See ehn... if we want to see Nacho, Iwobi and Moses together in the attack all at once with Mikel from midfield... then we can only propose a proper 4-3-3 with Mikel as parr of a midfield three and the front line being a fluid one of Iwobi-Iheanacho-VicMoses.
Or it could be a 4-3-1-2... like a 4-3-3 variant. Here the top two would be Iwobi and Iheanacho as false 9s. Victor Moses as the man in a free role behind them as that "1" and Mikel, Ndidi and one other (Ogu/Onazi likely) as the three CMs with one of the CM being much more defensive minded ofcos, keeping that shape in front of the back four.
It all depends... but in a 4-2-3-1, Ighalo starts. In a 4-5-1, Still Ighalo. In a 4-4-2... well time will tell really... we got options shaa. Hopefully they all stay fit till then. Sorry I had to go back to this post from last night. I didn't really have time to read it in details. You are right about Rohr having Ighalo as HIS first choice. But for ME it is Iheanacho. Iheanacho gives me more attacking options. True that Ighalo is most suitable for a 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 (lone CF). But Iheanacho is a more versatile forward who in addition to CF can play as an SS in a 4-4-2, behind a striker in a 4-4-1-1 and also as a Pseudo 9 in a 3-5-2 or 4-4-2. I still insist on seeing that Iheanacho-Iwobi pseudo 9 combo again. Bringing in Moses into the set up now, I love your proposition of Moses playing behind the duo but I would rather we have Iheanacho and Moses as the false 9 and Iwobi behind them. You know pseudo 9 also have you to cover from the flanks (false winger) of the box and this is where Moses and Iheanacho are deadliest. Also Moses playing as false 9 will give the liberty to Idowu and Shehu/Ebuehi to run up and down the flanks. One of the major strength of this team is the pacey attacks. And we need to maximize it. |

TheSuperNerd: Iheanacho Breaks Nigerian Scoring Record In FA Cup Previously Held By Yakubu (Top Ten Revealed)
https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/86104Kelechi2.jpg
Kelechi Iheanacho helped himself to a double in Leicester City's 5-1 rout of Peterborough in the FA Cup on Saturday.
In doing so, the Foxes number eight broke a record previously held by Yakubu Aiyegbeni, as he took his tally in the prestigious competition to nine goals in nine appearances. Ex-Super Eagle Yakubu notched 8 goals in 20 appearances in the FA Cup wearing the jerseys of Reading, Middlesbrough and Portsmouth.
While it took the retired Nigeria international ten years to score eight goals in the FA Cup, Iheanacho became Nigeria's leading scorer in the FA Cup after only two years.
With 6 goals from 29 matches, Chelsea right wing-back Victor Moses is the third highest Nigerian scorer in the FA Cup, an honour he shares with ex-Arsenal star Nwanwko Kanu.
Top Ten Nigeria's Top Scorer In The FA Cup
1) Kelechi Iheanacho - 9 goals, 9 matches
2) Yakubu Aiyegbeni - 8 goals, 20 matches
3) Victor Moses - 6 goals, 29 matches Nwankwo Kanu - 6 goals, 24 matches
5) Victor Anichebe - 4 goals, 21 matches Danny Shittu - 4 goals, 12 matches Emmanuel Emenike - 4 goals, 6 matches
8.) Kayode Odejayi - 3 goals, 26 matches John Obi Mikel - 3 goals, 32 matches
10) Victor Obinna, 3 goals, 3 matches

Russia 2018 WC Countdown: 137 days to go Kayode Odejayi. Hmmm that guy. I remember when he was having a descent season at Barnsley, even scoring against a top EPL team(can't recall now) in the FA cup. He got invited for a friendly against Australia I think. Think Amodu was coach then. He was a second half substitute. O boy, dude could not trap simple passes given to him o. And we were like "is this the same Odejayi we saw at the FA cup recently?". At times I won't blame some people who say the English league is overrated. *Runs out of thread before oga Komekn comes for my head*. |

THE NIGERIAN PEARL OF DEPORTIVO The technicians support the evolution of Francis
Francis Uzoho (1998, 1.96m) grows in the shade while Deportivo seek to cut the bleeding of goals conceded by the first team with the addition of the Ukrainian goalkeeper Maksym Koval. The young Nigerian international continues to mature as a footballer at the Fabril, and both his predisposition to improve and the evolution he has experienced in recent months are praised by the professionals of the entity.
The technical team commanded by Cristóbal Parralo and Gustavo Munúa agree when it comes to extolling the 19-year-old goalkeeper's skills, his desire to learn and the humility with which he digested returning to Fabril after Pepe Mel's toast in the sun, which made him debut in First in a delicate moment, marked by the insecurity transmitted by Tyton and Pantilimon and the fall of Rubén Martínez.
All of them maintain that Francis took the leap ahead of time , because although his raw talent and physical-technical conditions are considered extraordinary, the move from the subsidiary to the first team is not only related to the individual quality of the player, but also to its development. It is said that he learns in a week what others take a month to assimilate , but also that at that time his reading and his decision making were not superior to those of Álex Cobo, his partner under clubs in Segunda B.
Francis made his debut in the Primera against Eibar in Ipurúa (0-0) on October 15, he repeated the start in the traumatic defeat against Girona in Riazor (1-2) and returned to the second team days later, after the dismissal of Pepe Mel and the rise of Cristóbal. At that time, Parralo justified his decision by stating in public that " Fabril has two great goalkeepers [Álex Cobo and Francis Uzoho] and I am sure that in the future they can be part of the first squad. You have to trust the people of the first team and see if they are capable of giving what I want. " Extremely political statements aimed at keeping the goalkeeper from the forefront of the media and favoring their development in the medium and long term.
With options to go to the World Cup representing his country , which debuted in a friendly against Argentina played in November, Uzoho continues to burn stages. In the club they are aware of the potential they have in hand, and the goalkeeper, always smiling, focuses on continuing to do what he likes most: playing football.
http://coruna.eldesmarque.com/deportivo/noticias/7858-los-tecnicos-avalan-la-evolucion-de-francis No doubt a good prospect for Nigeria going forward after the WC. But for the WC, trust me on this its gonna be a tough tough decision for Rohr to make him number 1. |

I bought my Honda baby boy in 2008, same year I got married.
I drove the car till 2015 (7years!). That vehicle was so reliable. I learnt how to drive with it and so did my wife.
We had fond memories with it. Like our wedding pix, when I took my wife to deliver my first and then my second child, first days of driving our first two children to school and lots more.
We were almost shedding tears when disposing off the car.
Each time I see someone drive pass me with that car I smile. |
