One thing is certain, Iwobi has no capable replacement now sef. His class is such that you don't find it laying around so easily. wink

In the world cup we will be taking on European and South American oppositions for the most parts, and part of our success as a unit will rely on the Pure Class of Iwobi and the football intelligence of Iheanacho. #Fact

We all cannot deny that these are the overriding qualities that define those two players. We need them and not battering ram kinda players as replacements abeg.

Peter Olayinka cannot replace Iwobi, Samuel Kalu nko... Mbanu! Not even Samuel Adegbenro... I have watched all these guys... Iwobi is leagues above them all. It is the truth.
Bring in another class act in the person Mikel to conduct the Orchestra.

I need that combo of Iwobi-Iheanacho upfront with Mikel behind again.

Let's set up a 4-4-2. With no Central recognized striker. Iwobi and Iheanacho seem to do most of the demages from or close to the edge of the box. We play them as false 9 and they, alternately, can equally fall deep to support the midfield.

You dey see me comment on such threads? Next thing now na insults go follow.

Iwobi is still Iwobi.... One night of indiscipline which he is trying to atone for wont kill his class. Lad is 21. Sometimes, I just feel we are too hard on these boys. They are boys after all but in the GWG, they give us joy because they play like men smiley

Iwobi and Iheanacho are key to the rise of this new generation. It is high time people accept this fact and treat them like sons. We need them and they need us.
Meanwhile some are already suggesting his disposal and proposing replacements already.

As I will always say : Form is Temporal but Class is Permanent.

You are right Chief.... He seems to bring his A-game or close to that for the big games. Against same Chelsea this season when he stepped in for Ozil, he was beautiful also. I guess he just underrated Nottingham forest after all. wink
You saw how he took the Argentine defense to the cleaners.

We can bank on such abilities of his to bring his A game in the WC.

I will just give you Who scored.... (Below)

From Goal.com, he had three takeons successful, two shots on target and had a decent game no doubt. Nothing overly spectacular but did better than the last time.
Thanks! Still expecting update from his critics.

Have you noticed Iwobi is a big game player?

He does better against the bigger teams as compared to the smaller teams.

Could this probably be linked to the attitude with which he approaches games?

During that WAFU tournament, i could only find few players with decent quality. Just full of average players and these are supposedly the best in the league. I was fairly impressed with Eneji and Adeleye to an extent.

I hope to see Faleye and Nura in CHAN.
Nothing to inspire excitement.

Even though i am not inspired I will definitely watch all the matches including those of the other countries, like I always do.

They should just package that Nura into the next U17. I hope he passes the MRI though. I am only inspired to watch the upcoming young players. But for all those Osas Okoro, Rabiu Ali and the likes we don see them finish.

Chei i don't know you are so passionate about Nigeria team, thumb up.

If some are saying they are not expecting much from CHAN team then why are we always attacking Michael2, Komne,goldfish80 and sometimes forgiveness for their critical analysis on super eagles chances at WC.

If we are not expecting much from CHAN team then we should forget SE at WC cos believing in WC team and not CHAN show double standard, then nobody should attack those who are thinking otherwise on our chances at WC.

As a Nigerian is a must to show solidarity with our teams cos the South Americans and Europeans always show that support to their team.
So Collin Udoh that has downplayed his expectations on the team is not passionate, unpatriotic and doesn't show solidarity?

O pari (in icon79's voice)

We are talking about clubs representing Nigeria on the continent and u are saying I am not a fan smh. Anyways if I say Rivers United was attacked in Sudan and that was the reason they imploded and people call me a supporter of mediocrity and other stuff, that is called taking flack or getting crap. Anyways why are u talking about the clubs when the convo is about Stephen Odey? Just admit u are wrong and stop with the confusion tactics, did I tell u I was losing sleep about being bashed or getting crap? The point is that there was no call for Odey in the national team by then. We are grown ups here if we are going to discuss then let us at least be straight forward.

TBH I will never be impressed with fans who pick and choose when to support their team, I will just leave it at that.

Sir i want to ask you a question,do you have faith in super eagles in the coming 2018 WC in Russia.
This is a completely different scenario.

What is expected from both teams are completely different.

Yes, I have Faith that the Super Eagles will qualify from their group and pull one or two surprises at the knock out stages. Yes, because I have followed the team and the players, technical crew and the FA are putting everything in place to ensure we have a relatively good outing.

But not same can be said of this CHAN team. The quality of the league has deeped in the last couple of years and most of the quality players of the most recent years have left. Who are the players that we are even going to look out for?

I am not one of those that will be taking tea with Sugar everyday and gradually the quantity of sugar reduces to almost nothing and I will keep saying the tea is still sweet. This is synonymous with what they refer to as "Zombies" in the politics session. Haha.

I have followed the league for decades and I will say it again that I don't have Faith in this current CHAN team. They are playing Rwanda in their first game and I don't even know what to expect.

They need to do well in Morocco and restore that faith. That's all.

U are trying to dwell on one word so as to forget the situation at hand. Bashing in this instance means giving me flap. When both teams exited the CAF champions league and were to play in the confed cup I got so much crap just for announcing their next games and it was u for the most part.

By the time these team were getting kicked out of the champions league u were implying to me that Amunike should have dropped Osimhen for Odey. We had not gotten to u guys bashing Odey yet.
You got so much crap? You are the one taking this thing personal. We bashed those clubs for poorly representing Nigeria in the CAF tourneys. Wetin be your own inside? As I said before you are not a fan of any of those clubs, mind you, I am also a Fan of Rangers FC, Neither are you a board member of any of those clubs. So we should not criticise them when they perform abysmally? Huh?

Stephen Odey and his club's performance gave more credence as to why he was not a Super Eagles material QED.

This are things you should propose instead of preparing for their downfall. I think we will use a defender as a Dmf although I don't know who.

After bashing me about the exits of Rivers United and Enugu Rangers, all u remember is Stephen Odey. I am not some weak minded clown who follows wherever the wind blows.
Why should I have bashed you because of Rivers United or Rangers? Are one of their board members? You are not even a fan of those clubs.

That is the problem. U are taking it personal.

And for the records, the Odey debate started before the exit of those clubs from CAF competition. Which gave credence to our low rating of the local boys like Odey and co. Remember?

Lol... Chief... I understand your fears and concerns as regards the results of the CHAN tourney impacting our Super Eagles' rise up the FIFA world rankings. smiley

I understand also your fears and show of small or no faith in the team based on a lot of factors obviously.

It is your opinion and I respect it. Maybe Marvellous Basco reacted because you sjowed almost same fear before the wafu. And I was around then. You did show those fears too... lol cheesy But in the end, I understood your fears. Although we got to the final, we were really exposed too in same final.

Anyway, Sir Marvellous BascoVanVeli, biko ehn... I understand that you were seeing kind of a de ja vu scenario when Chief Icon4s said what he said. He has a right to not show much faith in the team based on valid reasons too naa... lol But yes, I know you reacted to his comment because he did same thing before wafu but please understand that this does not mean he wishes the team bad. I used to misunderstand him a lot back then too when he said our 2015 U-20 will flunk at the U-20 WC. Mehn, i was livid but with time shaa... I came to understand why he said what he said. I came to see that he actually loves to see Nigeria succeed and fly high. Only thing is he can be quite conservative with expectations unlike you and I, Marvellous Basco buddy. smiley

Please ehn... biko. Na matter of understanding why someone said something... Abeg. e do inugo? Thanks man smiley That's why you na my Guy wink
There were Nigerian teams I have had high expectations and predicted will perform well and there were some I have predicted against all odds that they will not perform well and most played out that way.

This forum was not created during the Manu U17 era.
But during the Amuneke U17 era I predicted our boys will win even despite their mediocre showing at the CAF U17. When the lads lost to Croatia in their 3rd group game I knew how I tried to convince lads here that that game does not matter and should not be used to assess the team. (Something similar that repeated itself in the WAFU tournament between Nigeria and Ghana). Amuneke's boys still went ahead to win the trophy.

I was among the very few that didn't rate highly the highly rated Manu's U20 boys. You saw how they ended. What of the Amuneke's U20 boys? The last Super Falcons team to the World Women championship, I predicted a maximum of 1point from that group and that was what they got.

If you have followed football well enough u will know what should constitute a team good enough to contest for a title.

I have not seen anything inspiring from this CHAN team. Who are their key players that we'll say "ah because this man is there will do this or that".
The team may come out and shock us fine, and excellent. But I don't build my expectations like a castle built in the sky.

If Bascovanveli has seen things in that team that is getting him excited he should please share with us.

Is it a crime now not to have hopes or faith in a team. I have said the pure truth. I don't have faith in that team. Is that a crime?

What you are even supposed to do is to convince me and give me hope. You have Faith in the team please tells us what makes you have Faith in that team. We want to benefit from it.

You lose to Rwanda and Beat Poland ans you will expect your FIFA ranking to skyrocket?
