Guys, Guinea is currently beating CIV at home. And game is in injury time right now.

CIV 2 Guinea 3.

So we're not the only people having a bad day.

O pari
I guess its a weekend for the away teams.

Yesterday here we were laughing at Sudan for losing at home 1-3 to Madagascar and today it is our turn.

I guess you do not get what happens before keepers make a save. No defender can be hundred percent. Most headers come with a missed header. It is the game.

When the ball dropped, the ball came close to Akpeyi. If it went far from him, we can start talking someone missed header or someone should have marked this person. However, when the header was close to the keeper, we expect a routine save.

Ask Ikeme and Enyeama.
See the answer you are giving to a simple question I asked and you say you are not being sentimental?

So the player that missed the header doesn't have a name?

The only point you Have been trying to make all evening is "the ball dropped close to Akpeyi".

Sire!

You just nailed it!

If you have never watched Eagles before, the Hypes here would make you think Drilling is all a Player needs to win Ballon DO'R.
They would not give a fair criticism of some players bc they love them. Instead they will be shifting blames to the players they want out of the team.

Akpeyi held the ball and spilled it. He was amateurish there. Simple. As I said, he lacks command of his eighteen. I said it before. Take a way the so called experience factor and no one will want him in our goal. This is the price we pay for allowing the weaker keeper in goal because he started keeping before another. Akpeyi is a wrong choice. Rohr should sort it out.

I am tired of Alloy Agu's games.

Awaziem went for the same ball with Akpeyi who was distracted as such which is largely responsible for the spilling.

However, where I would blame Akpeyi is his lack of communication with the on rushing Awaziem.

You have not told me who left Rantie unmarked with Plenty of space and time to nod that ball and say you are not being sentimental?

Explain the spilling and the ball was close to the keeper. Free runs even happen when Franco Baresi is defending. The ball was close to Akpeyi. Sentiments aside he was to save that.
I have explained this before naaa. check up.

Oga don't think..... that's the Reality! Musa would have been called all Names. Imagine them defending Awaziem, Iheanacho, Ndidi and Co, but quick to blame Shehu and Simon.
Sentiments! They love some players and dislike some others.

If Omeruo was in that defense he would have taken all the ballets for the two goals.

Even Shehu that had a very good game dem say otherwise.

Simon was terrible today. I had never seen him this
wasteful and unporposefull. Yet they will defend him bc they like him.

Ndidi IMO even share the blame more than the CB pairing. He was more focused on try to score than to perform his defense shielding. I know they will still hail him bc he is one of their favourites.

Please can you explain how the ball got close to Akpeyi? Who let the striker get free run! Let me repeat icon4s if it were omeruo we for nor hear word today! My conclusion is you are not objective in your analysis. Very one sided ..You and forgiveness? I dont even know who is worse! I support nacho but the guy was piss poor today.. As a striker void of service what are you supposed to do? He stay front there they wait ball.. Dono if he had up to 10 successful passes today
I have always said this to TheGoodJoe. He is a good analyst but he is often sentimental. All this blaming of Akpeyi is just to make a case for Alampasu.

What about experience in the post? The Akpeyi was a calamity. Please explain the spilling of the ball.

As if you were not there when Omeruo made a terrible mistake when playing for us. The ball was close to Akpeyi. Simple. He should have saved it. Too Close to him.
The ball was close to him how?

Was the ball still that he will just pick it up?

If you had said he didn't do well enough to Marshall the defense I will whole heatedly agree with you.

But to single him out for a blame on that first goal you are just being unfair.

Omeruo made a mistake against Zambia but his overall play was very much OK.

Awaziem was damn terrible today. Rohr thought he was playing a joker but the gamble turnrd out really bad. Awaziem caused us that fist goal.

After you will say you are not sentimental. Why not Alampasu? What did he do to you except on repeated occassions being our best performing goal keeper in camp. You do not want the best in goal but accuse me of sentiments.

I repeat, that Rantie's header we close to Akpeyi, he should have saved it but messed it up. It is his fault.

At least he spilled the ball for all to see. The guy is poor.
Who said Alampasu is our best keeper in camp?

Do you understand what being 'best' means in this context?

You keep saying 'the ball was close to Akpeyi so he should have saved' it but you have never blamed the player that left Rantie in position after missing his own header . And you say you are not being sentimental.

I repeat if it was Omeruo that had the kind of game Awaziem had today you would have crudified the boy with words here.

That ball was close to Akpeyi, he was to save it in games chances happen but when the ball is close to the goal keeper, he is to save it. Akpeyi missed it.
Go back and watch that replay but this time with an open mind.

Close range headers are the most difficult to deal with. You cannot tell which direction the ball would travel.

Awaziem was responsible for that goal.

And if anyone is to replace Akpeyi it will definitely not be Alampasu.

You are right. The second goal still baffles me. I didn't even see him given out instructions even for once.
So he was also responsible for the second goal. Give out instructions to defenders that were no where to be found.

TheGoodJoe:
I have told you to stop all this sentiments accusations. You have seen your experience keeper what he has caused. You keep talking sentiments without knowing selecting a player based on experience is sentimental. Let me say it again, selecting a player based on experience is sentimental.

Select the best and Akpeyi is clearly not better than Alampasu.

I have always criticised Onazi based on his shielding style of play. In the game against SA last time, we made a mistake of not having a standing four. This happened after Hope Akpan injured and we brought Onazi back to the midfield and we had a catastrophe.

The same problem is today. Individually the players defended well but when they were overrun especially during counters, it is difficult making the right defensive choices. Today's problem was no shielding of the defence. As for the first goal, the ball was close to Akpeyi and he messed it up. In the earlier time he dropped the ball.

You are the sentimental one.
All attempt to give a dog a bad name.

Who was supposed to pick out Rantie?

how many goalies in the word can save that kind of close header?

Your own is just to promote Alampasu by all means.

Akpeyi was not at fault for any of the goals.

I hope this is the last we see of Akpeyi. His footwork is delightful but his goal keeping skills is awful. He has no command of the eighteen yard box and the idea of him not training with the defence is atrocious. How will he have understanding with his team mates if he trains separately from them.

My biggest fear today was us paying for our decision of playing a weaker goal keeper due to his experience a devoted we paid dearly for it. No disrespect to Akpeyi but he is not just up to it.
So Alampasu would have been the best choice? Chai na wa.

The fragility and inexperience of both CBs were exposed today. Poor man marking by Awaziem cost us that first goal. And where were the CBs for Onazi to even be the one chasing the SA 2nd goal scorer.

If it was Omeruo that had the kind-of game Awaziem had today. You will not be making the kind of remarks you just made about that CB pairing.

Nididi was busy playing to the gallery and forgot his defensive duties. Onazi did not do well enough to provide the link with The Attackers.

Say the truth and stop applying sentiments.
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Icon4s(m): 7:18pm On Jun 10, 2017
Ndidi did not do well enough as a DM to provide cover .He was more interested in scoring than providing cover for the defense and that exposed the INEXPERIENCE of the CB pairing.

Awaziem was evidently lost and could not cope with the persistent pestering from the SA attackers. He was not aware of Rantie for the first goal and almost gave away a penalty. Thank God the ref had mercy. Plus so many way-ward passes.

Ekong did well in the first half but also got lost as soon as we conceded. He was supposed to be a leader in that defense but his fragility was also exposed.

Lesson learned: We are not yet there.

People have been clamouring for the team to be disbanded. But I'll no. You cannot win every game.

We take this as one of those bad days in office and work on our weaknesses.

Heart breaking that such a devoted man who made a lot of strides in pushing Nigerian football to the top passed without getting a proper run handling the Super Eagles.

Much respect to Coach Amodu Shuaibu for answering the Call to serve the nation and manage the Super Eagles on three different occassions: 1998–1999, 2001–2002 and 2008–2010. Leading us to the AFCON bronze on two different occassions and qualifying us for the 2010 World Cup.

Miss the Great Legend Coach Amodu Shuaibu.
I remember that cold night in Omdurman, Sudan. Sudan was at the brink of qualifying for the 2002 WC. Nigeria haven lost to Sierra Leone and Liberia away was behind Sudan and desperately needed a win to over take Sudan.

The Shuain Amodu tinkered Super Eagles humiliated Sudan in front of their prestudent. They game was designed to celebrate their WC qualification.

Sudan 0-4 Nigeria it ended.
