dunno....Denayer's getting the no.9 shirt so he might just take the role. Considering WBA isn't that much competition, City might want to try out their newbies for this one.

Sterling and Iheanacho on the flanks and Denayer in the centre in a 4-3-3 formation
Hmmm no small games in d EPL any more o. City seems nt to b ready for this season. Well i will like to see how Kelechi adapts to d EPL. Wish him luck.

maybe it's cuz Isaac's club likes to hold on to players and doesn't release when necessary.

meanwhile, how far with Yahaya? anything from tottenham?
Mayb sha. Nigeria really needs to scout for centre forwards. Now that d sun is begining to set on Emenike & Ike Uche Oliseh needs to start grooming young strikers and think Isaac should be in d party soon.

For Yahaya i think what might b affecting him is same thing affecting Awoniyi.Age: nt yet 18 so no professional contract yet.
Iheanacho clocked 18 last year and so signed d professional contract last year. Though was part of 2014 preseason bt was sent to d U21 to learn. Now he is 19 & City thinks he is up to d task now.
Lets hope Yahaya and Awoniyi follow suit.

heard Dzeko is going to Roma....Aguero is prone to injuries and Kelechi is projected to play at least 15 games next season courtesy of those.

I got the info from CityWatch on Twitter (one of Man City's authentic handles)....they said he and Sterling wil cover for Aguero and Bony, there was no mention of Navas or Dzeko....and Kelechi could even upstage Bony
So hu plays centre forwards this weekend?

So glad for him....hope Manu and Nduka can see the gem they failed to utilise because of bad belle-ism....

Iheanacho will now be used as a cover alongside Sterling in the absence of Aguero and Bony. He's expected to feature in their first game against West Bromwich Albion.

Meanwhile, that's a picture of Jason Denayer, Mario Lopes and Kelechi Iheanacho last night when they were promoted to the senior team

Cc: thegoodjoe
I doubt that he will get regular playing time. With players like Sterling, Aguero, Silva, Navas playing supporting roles to Bony and Djeko he hardly will b a starter. The best dey can do for his career is to loan him to a championship side so he can gain playing time and mature in d game.

Forget preseason, d EPL is a highly physical and competitive league. Dnt know whether Kelechi has d mental and physical strenght to cope with it.
except mayb dey will keep him for less competitive competitions like d CapitalOne and FA Cup jst like what Arsenal did for Akpom and Zelalem.

Don’t overlook Iheanacho, Awoniyi, Fetuga tells Oliseh

Kelechi Iheanacho
By Kazeem Busari
Former international Olusegun Fetuga has advised Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh not to overlook the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho and Taiwo Awoniyi in his new-look Super Eagles as the coach makes effort to strengthen the team.
Oliseh is expected to name a preliminary squad when he returns to Nigeria next week ahead of their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Taifa Stars of Tanzania in September.
While Oliseh is focussed on inviting only experienced players to the team, Fetuga believes key players in the Flying Eagles squad, which won the 2015 African Youth Championship and featured in the U-20 World Cup, are good enough for the senior team.
“Oliseh is professional enough to select his team without sentiment. I support his stand to invite only players with adequate experience; this is not the time to involve players who are benchwarmers at the clubs,” Fetuga said.
“While I oppose the idea of involving all the players from the Flying Eagles in the Super Eagles programmes, I believe outstanding players like Iheanacho and Awoniyi have proven themselves worthy of being in the senior team.
“Iheanacho has been in the limelight for Manchester City throughout their pre-season activities. Any wise coach will know that this is the best time to get the player committed to his team. Awoniyi was also active for the national U-23 team despite not having a topflight club to play for.”
Fetuga said Oliseh’s rebuilding method should not be seen as a means of disintegrating the team following the sacking of Stephen Keshi as coach of the Super Eagles.
“Many people agreed that some players didn’t have the quality required to be in the Eagles before Oliseh came. The team should not be used for experiments to determine the level of intelligence of some players. It should be for professionals only,” Fetuga said.
“If Oliseh decides to invite only the best players from home and abroad, he should be supported. No sentiment should be attached. I don’t think his method will destabilise the team in any way. Only the best players will be retained in the team.”

www.punchng.com/sports/dont-overlook-iheanacho-awoniyi-fetuga-tells-oliseh/
Y all the attention only on Iheanacho and Awoniyi. Isaac Success to me is ahead of them both. Success is already ripe for d Super Eagles while Iheanacho and Awoniyi may need to put finishing touched to their game levels. The last U20 WC proved that Success is more clinical than Awoniyi + Success is in his second la liga season while Awoniyi is waiting till his 18th birthday to put pen on paper for Swedish club.

I dnt know y Success is nt getting d enough publicity he deserves. Siasia has never even considered him for his team.

Awoniyi to sign pro contract with Kalmar next week

Taiwo Awoniyi is expected to sign a professional deal with Swedish club Kalmar next Wednesday when he officially attains the age of maturity.
But Thomas Andersson Borstam, the sporting director of the Red Brothers, did not give away much information when asked to provide an update on the situation of the Nigeria youth international
“There are a lot of clubs interested so we’ll see how it goes,” Borstam told barometern.se.
Awoniyi has been linked with possible moves to clubs in Tunisia, Greece, Austria, England, Holland and Portugal but the interested teams have to negotiate with Kalmar.
Kalmar have already paid Seyi Olofinjana €25,000 or 16.7 per cent of Awoniyi’s transfer fee while representatives of the club loaned him $2,500 late last year.

2015 All Africa Games: Egypt, Algeria camp in China for Nigeria

In readiness for Nigeria at the 2015 All Africa Games, Egypt and Algeria are at present in China honing their skills in table tennis for the multi-sports championship in Congo Brazzaville.
After dominating the just concluded ITTF Africa Senior Cup in Cameroon, Egypt returned to Asia this week to continue with their build-up under the tutelage of their Chinese coach.
Also, 15 Algerian players were sighted at a training camp in Shanghai under the watchful of their French technical adviser, Cedric Rouleau.
For the Egyptians, this year’s games hope to be excited as Omar Assar, El-Sayed Lashin and Mohammed El-Beiali as well as Dina Meshref and Nadeen El-Dawlatly are in the best form of their lives considering their performance at the Cameroon tournament.
Before the Cameroon competition, the Egyptian team has embarked on a one month training tour in China and they have also decided to return to perfect their skills for the games.
Unlike their Egyptian counterparts, Algeria were camped in Algiers for the Cameroon championship and having seen their level during the ITTF Africa Senior Cup, the team moved to China to continue their training as well.
Host – Congo Brazzaville will also be rounding up their one-year training tour of China this month having perfected formalities for the engagement of their Chinese players who are also expected to feature for the Central African region during the championship.
Vice President, Africa Table Tennis Federation (ATTF), Olabanji Oladapo told NationSport Tuesday that Nigeria must brace up if its hopes to clinch any medal in Brazzaville.
“I don’t think we should be relaxed this year because with what I saw at the Cameroon championship, it is clear that everybody is after Nigeria. They all know that we are capable of springing surprises and I am sure they know that they have to be at their best to overcome Nigeria. I know we have the quality in terms of talents, but we just need to harness these talents to achieve the optimum results in Brazzaville. I believe that with a technically sound coach, we can do better in Brazzaville and this I believe is the only way we can perform beyond every expectation,” Oladapo said.
