justified19:
which attitude are u talking abt? I hope u dont mean every 2.2 or 3rd class grad was unserious as an undergraduate?

YES! 90% of 2:2 & 3:1 graduates had d wrong attitude which was largely responsible for d result they got. I went through d school system I know what I am talking abt. Most of them laziness and non-challancy did nt make dem prapare adequately for tests & exams.

Some will come here & start blaming lecturers. U have 8-10 semesters to prove ur self and u couldnt. I know how i was personally tounted by my mates for being too serious in school. There was no form of names they didnt call me. Well, i got d result i wanted and thank God for where I am today.

U cannot sow ground-nuts and expect to reap yams.

U23 Eagles Star Joins Mba At Yeni Mataylspor

By Johnny Edward:
Bayelsa United and U23 Eagles midfielder Azubuike Okechukwu has joined AFCON hero Sunday Mba at Turkish second division side Yeni Matalyspor, Comple tesportsnigeria.com can exclusively report.
Okechukwu who has been included in Sunday Oliseh’s 23 man home-based list for next month’s AFCON qualifier against Tanzania signed a two year deal with the Turkish outfit.
The 20 year old who starred in the Dream Team’s goalless draw against Congo in Pointe Noire last Sunday, will not report to the Eagles camp on the 17th of August, a reliable source revealed to Comple tesportsnigeria.com.
“He won’t join up with the squad next week because he just signed a deal in Turkey,” the source revealed.
Okechukwu becomes the fourth Nigerian player to join a second division side in Turkey lately, after Sunday Mba, Simon Zenke and Nnamdi Oduamadi.

Hmmm..Sunday Mba.Keshi raised this guy's career to the 10th floor of a building and pushed it off d balcony from there. Hope his career has nt died from after that fall.

The Op has said d obvious facts. But how many of the so called 2:2, 3:1 & pass graduates can tow that path? The attitude dey put in while in school will still over shadow their sense of reasoning.

Why choose Atletico Madrid instead of Getafe where playing time might be easier to get? I know that anybody would love to choose AM FC over Getafe FC, but he might struggle to break into the first team of AM FC than Getafe FC.

Bros Awoniyi will hardly get playing time in Getafe's senior team. The best thing for him is to pass through d Atletico Youth team. Gain some playing time there & compete with boys of his age den after a year or so gain promotion to d Atletico A team. And if dey deem it fit loan him to another club in Spain or any other part of Europe where he can gain playing time competing at senior club level.

Hello everyone, I am a recent graduate that just completed Nysc. Going by the recent uncertainty in the private sector, I am considering a career in Lecturing. I need your opinions. Career progress, remuneration etc Thanks

Are u going into lecturing due to as u said "recent uncertainty in d private sector"
or bc u have passion for research and knowledge impartation?

Vado:
Dude let no one intimidate you. 2.2 is not the best for sure, but neither is it the worst and you can't compare the value of a 2.2 in a place like Unilorin or UI with what obtains in IBB university. Go around all the top-notch federal universities and tell me how many students make 2.1. That target is not a walk in the park. My department boasted of only few 2.1 last year and it wasn't like the rest of the class were daft.

My friend a graduate of Yobe state University with a 2:1 has a better chance of being shortlisted for a job aptitude test than a 2:2 graduate from Ife assuming dey both read same course. This is bitter to swallow yes bt it d truth.

MNU 1:2 TOT. FT!

joseph1013:
At this rate, at a point in time, every team in Europe would have shown interest in Awoniyi. His mates are getting ready for the start of the season and his agent is still playing kalo kalo with this boy's career. This talent must not go to waste o.

Not that. He cannot put pen to paper for any club until he is 18yrs old which will b later this month.

safarigirl:
Atletico Madrid please. Tenk you

I know u will like this News. I too think Atletico will be good for him. He may b put in their youth team till he is matured for senior action.
However if he signs for a team like getafe he stands a better chance of being quickly promoted to d senior team bt may nt get enough playing time jst like what is happening to Success at Granada.

Honestly speaking, your Grade does not determine your chances of procuring a job as far as am concerned. Just yesterday a friend who Graduated with a 2'2 in Pharmacology got a job in a company. The person in question just passed out from NYSC last month or so,has NO experience whatsoever,NO masters Degree and Most importantly he has no connection to anyone in the company. All he did was send his CV online to 3 different companies, he was invited for interview by one of the company and he was given the Job. In addition to that, they were lodged in a Hotel for one week and underwent training for a week. His starting salary is 120k monthly, Although his colleague who had about 3 years working experience was paid 150k monthly and was given an official car. So My people it's about God's grace, preparation and information. So many companies in Nigeria are looking for hard working Employees. Good luck. Pray hard.

No body is saying 2:2 graduates dnt get jobs. Jst dat 1:1 & 2:1 stand a better chance.

All this epistle depends on d job. Personally I have misplaced my cv for some years now and I have three jobs to chose from all of them with a salary of 6 digits. I have advocated chinese language learning for long on this forum but people have turned a deaf ear mostly because they are lazy and love to look down on d chinese. I challenge any one to tell me any language u will learn dt can fetch u 100k without a degree.

If u can speak fluent chinese nd reside in lagos or ogun state contact me nd i will give u a job.

That ur 6 digits is it per month or per annum? Jst asking.

Ybnm4life:
Most employees don't really care about certification these days anymore especially if you graduated from a prestigious university... A 2.2 from Unilag is better than a 2.1 from any university from Ogun state...
But everything depends on God, even people that graduated with first class are still yet to be employed. Just pray God smiles on whatever grade you have and you are in the lahbour market...

Liar! Very obvious u have nt entered d labour market. Wait till after then before u can advice some1 pls.

metrosexual:
Below are words of a successful 2:2 graduate;

"First and foremost I'd like to unequivocally state that a 2:1 gives you an edge over the 2:2 graduates especially for shortlisting
purposes. Most graduate trainee programs have a minimum of 2:1 as their requirement.

Now to 2:2 graduates, I'd advise folks in this
category to add a proven competency other than your 2:2 grade to make you shine in the eyes of an employer. I'd use myself as an example, I polished my writing skills, my diction and communication skills.

Weeks before finishing NYSC, I wrote a
proposal to a top multinational firm, attached my CV and a cover letter, I got an invite for an interview, just minutes into the interview the HR manager said... "I love your diction!" ...Your proposal was an excellent idea, I just wanted to hear you talk."

And as you guessed right, I got the job! Mind you, I graduated with a 2:2 and my start up salary was close to six digits.

Apart from your 2:1 or 2:2, every employer respects "IDEAS" over a certificate. I have a very good job today because I sold an idea to my employer.

Another option for 2:2 graduates is to add
professional certifications to your certificate to give your CV some shine, go for Internationally recognised certifications in your profession, the likes of CISA, CISCO, NEBOSH, Prince 2, etc.

If that's far reached you can go for certification from Nigerian Institutes, the likes of Institute of Chattered Accountants of Nigeria, Nigerian institute of Management, Chattered institute of Personnel Management and others. And mind you, you must not read Accounting in University to get an ICAN certification. I had a friend who read Statistics and in final year he registered for ICAN, before finishing NYSC he got his ICAN certification and works in a multinational corporation now, and mind you, he graduated with a 2:2.

I bet you that a 2:2 with CISA or ORACLE 11g would beat a 2:1 graduate to a job.

A 2:2 graduate with ICAN before hitting age 27 would give you a job almost anyplace you apply.

A 2:1 just gives you a better chance over the 2:2 graduates for the case of Graduate Trainee programs, but how many jobs do Graduate Trainee Programs offer? VERY FEW!"

My last words to everyone is this ... Hustle hard!! If you made 2:1 make sure it works for you, if you got a 2:2 acquire extra skills and competences to convince an employer that you are competent enough. All the best everyone!!!

Wow! Bravo! Very good advice. But writting skills and diction are nt things u can polish over night. U start from as far as primary school.

I like it when u said "go for professional certifications in ur chosen profession". Some lads jst jump into certification programmes bc dey heard dat is what pple do these days to get a job.

The summary of ur advice is still dat 2:2 graduate needs to work d extra mile to repackage himself.

Kudos.

Mekky05:
. Is this what you call "advice" or "directive"? I guess you've not really been out dia or will I say had experience.

My dear. This is the truth, though mayb bitter.Talking about d experience. I am a product of a Nigerian Public University. With close to 10yrs Oil and Gas Experience. I've worked with a bank and 2 different Oil companies, 1 a service company and d other an E & P. I joined d labour market in 2004 & stopped job searching in 2007. All through my job search era i applied for job in almost every reasonable company in Nigeria & d middle-east. I know d différent responses i got from each.I wrote several tests and even turned down some offers. I quit searching when i got my current job 8 & half yrs ago.I didn't get my 1st choice job bt something close to it. I was tired of applying for Trainee positions and was already crossing d upper limit of age for entry level positions.

My adviced may sound like a directive to u cos i said dem affirmatively.I am affirmative bc i know what i am talking abt.

Polithiefcian:
Just asking... I don't know which prof course to register for.

Advise pls

Thats where d problem lies. Professional course are only meant to sharpen ur knowledge/skill in ur chosen profession. If u have nt chosen a profession no need for a professional course.

luminousity:
@op, there are over a thousand hope for someone that graduate with second class lower.
Using myself for an example, I just a secure a job with over 100 applicants, later shortlisted to 42 then final 10.

a job of over a 100 applicant. This is d kind of job 2:2 can give u. 2:1 or 1:1 can get u selected from over 400, 000 applicants.

Polithiefcian:
is it advisable for a graduate of History to register for Project Mangement professional course?

Advice pls

Y do u need that?

Op to tell you tthe truth. With a 2:2 u are screwed up bt nt completely.
The Nigerian system has it that after school u go looking for job. The easiest way to stand out of d crowd of millions of fresh graduates is to make atleast a 2:1 bc this puts u at d higher 10% percentile and increases ur chance of being shortlisted for aptitude tests.

Ur 2:2 puts u in d popular basket where most graduates fall into making u having to compete with almost every graduate for d few available position. In this case ur chance of getting that job becomes slimmer.

Peeps have come here shouting it doesnt matter," what u need is connection", "Grace of God", "Go for ur masters", "become self employed", "go for certifications"," what employers look at is skills & nt result". Yes it works for some. But note it that:

-Not everybody has d necessary connections. Some pple bc their uncle is a gate man in a company feel they have connection.

-God rewards hard work with excellence. U didnt play ur part as a student and at d end of d day expect God to come and work wonders. Miracles are nt common that is y they are called miracles.

-U are adviced by some to go for masters.Note that in most cases what will still give u dat job is ur first degree. Masters changes little or nothing. U are still goinf back for more theories with little or no industry experience. If u graduate at 21 or 22yrs better for u. But when u graduate at 26-28yrs and then go for master by d time u are out u are already over 30yrs and that further compound ur woes bc most companies put a maximum age of 24-27.

-Some say become self employed. Note dat it is nt everybody that has d entrepreneural skills. If u study a course dat u can use to practise better for u. Eg: Architecture, Civil Engineering, Pharmacy, mayb Law. Bt for some causes d Nigerian situation cannot allow u practise except u seek employment.

-Some say get certifications. If u like get 100 certifications, the first thing employers use to select candidates for fresh graduate position is 1st degree.

-Some say companies focus more on skills or what u can do. This can only apply for experienced positions. What employers need for graduate trainee applicants is that paper degree ceritificate.

The advice i can give to a graduate with 2:2 depends on:
-The person's age
-The course studied
-Location of residence among others.

However, remember i said a person with 2:2 is screwed up bt nt completely. I am implying dat it is bad bt u can still help ur self. Jst dat u have to work extra hard and in most cases nt likely to get a job as quickly as 1:1 & 2:1 graduates.

Students that still have d opportunity should learn from this thread.

I dnt want to talk abt pple with 3rd class and pass.

This a very tricky grp for Nigeria.

Chile are the hosts.Home advantage counts a lot in football especially at this level. They are also in d South American region where talents abound. Though they are nt heavy weights at this age level bt are likely to b a formidable opposition

USA, though may nt usually be among top favorites on football compétitions, have repeatedly over d years presented descent performances at all level of football. They usually find their way into d knockout stages bt hardly get to d semis. I see dem presenting an averagely descent team.

Croatia may nt have a good record at this level of the game bt remember They were d major nation dat was part of d old Yugoslavia that performed well in football before d break up.They even won d WYC in 1987. They can shock dat grp with d good organisational play d Europeans are known for.Plus Eastern European teams are usually difficult to play against at youth level. Remember Serbia won d last U20 WC. Croatia will present a descent team though i see them as d weakest in d grp.

Nigeria are overwhelming favourites to go though from this grp even if dey dnt top d grp. 4 time winners & 3time 1st runners up. No doubt they are among tournament favourites. Nigeria has shown excellence consistently @ this age grade: 1 grp exit, 2q/final, 3silver and 4 gold in10 attempts is no doubt an enviable record. It is d best record at this level for any nation.Nt even Brasil and Argentina can boast of this.
Nigeria are tournament favourites.

I can go all the way to x-ray one after d other all the teams in d tourney bt mayb i have to create a thread on that.

koboko69:
SHARAP!!!!

IS IT STILL APC SPONSORING BH TO DESTABILIZE BUHARI'S GOVERNMENT

Shouting Sharap. That is ur APC identity: Violence.

I am nt a paid e-warrior neither am i a PDP supporter. Infact i voted for Oshiomole/ACN in d last Edo guber elections.

U know what i am talking abt bt ur hate will nt let u reason. The APC cashed in on d insurgency in d North to spread all forms of ill propagandas. Dey went all length to sabotage d war against Boko Haram.

When Shekau was killed d APC was nt happy bc of their wicked ambitions dey started spreading falsehood dat Shekau was nt dead. Have u heard of Shekau again? When d Nigerian Army was winning d war against Boko Haram ur blood thirsty APC supporters werent happy and feared dat they may lose d election.

After sacrifising innocent blood of Nigerians u finally have what u wanted. Enjoy it while it lasts.

koboko69:
This guy is just a bastard liar trying to save face. For all we know, the only meaningful achievement in the fight against BH was the 6 weeks political "miscalculation", where what the Nigerian army could not do in 6years, they suddenly did in 6 weeks. Exceot Dansuki is trying to say this weapons became functional only 6 weeks to election. The last one year before elections was stories of BH taking over local governments and hoisting flags, killing innocent people and not the other way around this clown is saying.

The clown should mention names of "elements" or shut the hell up. This is no longer campaign period.

Like i said earlier wait till you are probed. All the dollars and naira you stole, you will cough them out like you have dollarculosis.

We are not fooled by the deceitful pictures you showed us, Okonjo also showed us figures too, but when Oshimole questioned further, she became silent ever since!!!

U are saying trash. It is so obvious that u are an APC baboon.Ur hate for GEJ is one of d reasons some pple hate Buhari.
It is very obvoius dat some elements even in Nigeria, particularly from d North and opposition party wanted d last regime to fail. The innocent blood u people "shared" directly or indirectly will continue to hunt u pple all ur life.

Ok when d amunitions arrive now BH(BuHari) supporters will start shouting sai buhari.

A big Thanks to all of you for ur assistance so far, but the problem still persists.
We got the ECM, installed it but it didn't crank the engine, we installed the old one and it cranked the engine but still didn't start,
we can deduce from this that we need to reprogram the new ECU.
Going forward, I need someone to come do a proper diagnostic, reprogramming and fix this issue.
So my Friends pls recommend someone.
I live in Akwa-Ibom and the car is here.

Thanks so much

If really feel for u bros. I jst came out ofsimilar condition. In my own case it is a 2000 Honda CRV that my wife drives to her fish farm. While moving it will suddenly off engine. All d lights on d dash board will b on. I will try to restart then after 2-3mins it pick up again. This was happening once in 3days.
My mechanic changed fuel pump, fuel filter and plugs. Infact d occurrence became more frequent. Some time u park at night and in d morning d car wont start until after like 5mins.To cut d long story short. The vehicle spent abt 3wks at mechanic.During dis period he Scanned d vehicle and said it was an electrical problem. He took it to an electrician and that one said i should buy a sensor. D part was nt available in Benin where i live so it was bought and sent from Lagos.
Well sha d part was fixed and d car did nt switch off engine again.

Kai bt during dat period i now knew dat having two cars is nt a luxury bt a neccessity. My wife was taking my new 4runner to d farm, carrying fish and fish feed, while i was hustling public transport. Benin rain beat me shege.

3wks now d vehicle no off once.
Btw i use an 08 4runner(since January this yr). Never experienced any think like u are experiencing or any fault at all.
