You don't need a spectacular team to win an international trophy, Messi would know this if he was humble enough to ask CR7 for tips grin

Maybe if he had gotten injured in that Copa final where he missed a penalty, Argentina would have won it

There was nothing shady about the 2010 award. Yes, Snijder won the Champions league with Inter Milan and the world cup with Germany but he didn't really dominate any of those tournaments to challenge Messi. I would like you to put his 2010 stats side by side with Messi's.

And by the way, if we are going to complain about 2010, then tell me how Cristiano won it in 2014 over Manuel Neur? Point is, Real Madrid has destroyed what used to be a genuine award. Every year since 2003. Real Madrid pulls an out campaign to promote Cristiano Ronaldo for Ballon d'Or. I have never seen Barca do anything similar for Messi.

O pari

safarigirl:
there is no difference. That 2010 Balloon D'Or was as suspect as any other.

Messi no reach finals for World Cup, but he won the title, how? Do not forget, it was Messi people used to tease that he is Blatter's son because Blatter favoured him more than any other player
FamilyRe: Mistake Married Women Make by Icon79(m):
Very well said, bruh!

And may I add, Sleeping with other men thinking that they are hurting their husband. Anytime a married woman sleeps with another man, she's disrespecting herself much more than she can ever disrespect her husband. Mark my words!

O pari

Chuks9000:
Women (married) have their overwhelmingly great sides. But their are some behaviours that could be detrimental to the relationship.

1. Lack of sex.
Having sex once in a month! She will always
come up with excuses like: I have a headache, I'm not in the mood, you only come to me when you need sex...
Sex is one of the cheapest things to get out there! But when the man holds those quality time with his wife as sacred, lack of sex can be a spoiler in the relationship.
The funny thing is that most time when he presses on, you tend to submit. Why then make him labour?
The worst is when you never initiate sex. No words to describe this torture.
Again, why will your husband walk into the room just for you to begin to adjust your top to conceal your boobs or bum? If you can't display the resources for him freely, then don't fault him if he thinks you are having an affair outside.

2. 'Disrespectfulness'.
Not acknowledging your husband at appropriate moments.
Imaging not saying good morning when you see him in the morning. Maybe after a fight. But making it a habit. Hmmm.
She will say you are on leave and still you don't have time to call. But when she is on leave, she will pretend to be asleep until the man leaves the house. Sometimes, he remembers he left his phone or something behind. He comes back to get it and relises that she was only waiting for him to leave the house before she gets up. What a shame.
Your husband gets home, rings the bell. You go unlock the door and return to what you were doing without receiving him at the door.
Funny when you always think his going out to have a drink is a sin. It's part of a man's DNA. Please get use to it.

3. Love for money.
Money makes the world go round.
But if the only time you are happy is when your palm is greased with money or gift, then, there is an issue.

4. 'Rudeness.
This is a little different from number 2.
"Baby, it's not done that way. See how it's done." When you take offence anytime a correction is suggested, you create a gap in the relationship. The husband cannot even ask if you have seen his wallet without you taking offence.

5. Pouring your annoyance on the kids always.
No illustration needed here.
If you have an issue bothering you, why not discuss it amicably?

These have been the order of the day and I just need your mature contribution.

Please if you cannot relate with the topic, you should take your joke(s) else where.

Thanks in advance.

In 2010 nobody extended the voting period. But in 2013, FIFA was literally forced to extend the voting period after all the tantrums from Cristiano Ronaldo and the fierce blackmailing campaign by Real Madrid. \

Now, can you spot the difference?

Mark my words, if the Argies doesn't win the World Cup next year then they are not going to win it again for the next 20 years. There's no Argentina without Messi. Do you know that in spite of all their firepower (Aguero, DiMaria, Higuin, Dybla etc), no other player besides Messi has scored a goal for Argentina in a competitive match in more then 1 year?

I don't know where you're getting your data from but Cristiano (I don't call him Ronaldo b/c there's only ONE Ronaldo, the REAL One ... the Brazilian one, as the indefatigable Jose Mourinho would say) don't have more assists than Messi. And I don't believe that he has ever had more assists than Messi in any year.

With that said, what I was talking about isn't just your ordinary everyday assist. Anybody can give an assist but, in this case, Messi is one on one with the goalkeeper to tap in but he purposely tapped the ball to Suarez just to get him going. And watch what happened next: Suarez had a brace today, getting him ready for the El Classico on Saturday! That's what we call leadership ... that's what we call carrying your team(mate) on your back ... that's what we call not playing for the stats.

Another instance, in all my time of watching Cristiano Ronaldo, I have never seen him give up penalty to a team mate to take. But Messi does it all the time!

O pari

Ronaldo has more assists than Messi, stop pushing this false narrative. And, the world doesn't owe him jack.

Nne, I think football owes Messi the big one. To the purists like us, Messi was the man who saved football after the retirement of Ronaldihno.

And btw, I rooted against Brazil in South Africa 2010 just because Dunga decided to leave Ronaldihno out of the squad.

O pari

safarigirl:
this your Messi obsession is as bad as GoodJoe's Pep obsession. I'm praying for you.

Meanwhile, the world owes him nothing. Make FIFA kukuma tell other countries not to come to World Cup and dash Messi the trophy since the world owes him something undecided

You won't be making this naïve statement if you actually understand how the whole selection process goes. Can you recall what happened in 2013? And how Blatter later confessed that he extended the voting period to improve Cristiano Ronaldo's chances of winning and even went as far as encouraging people to change their votes.

I hope you're not too young to remember. That's the year I stopped taking Ballon d'Or and any associated individual awards serious.

True. I totally agree. But I am sure it won't come to that, both sides would've qualified before that game. That final game would only determine the group winners between us and the Argies. This Argentine team would be ready and unstoppable by next summer. Mark my words!

To be quite honest with you, I will probably support Messi. The world owns Messi a World Cup. It would be absurd for the Greatest Player of All Time to retire without winning the biggest silverware of them all.

I may probably cry and refuse to eat the day (if) Argentina gets knocked out in Russia next year. It would mirror the way I felt when Denmark broke Nigeria's hearts in France 1998. I can still remember that day very well - Slava, my Russian gf at that time thought that I was going into a deep depression. I didn't I refused to eat for 2 days or so.

Those of you watching Barca v Depo can see why Cristiano Ronaldo would never be able to clean Messi's booths. Messi just burned the Depo defenceline and instead of tapping the ball into the net, he switched it over to Luis Suarez to tap in .... because he knew that Suarez needed that goal more than him.

FACT: This is something Cristiano Ronaldo would not do to save his life.

Actually that was not a dive because there was a contact. Problem is, most of these refs didn't play football so they are not aware that, when someone is in motion, even the most inconsequential contact can send that person flying. My call on that Ndidi's episode, it was not a penalty but it wasn't a dive either ... just a plain no call. I am positive that Leicester City would win if they challenge that second yellow card but I doubt that they would since it wasn't a straight red.

Having said that, you made a good point about the number of matches Ndidi has played this season. I have actually recommended to one of my contacts, who's close to Ndidi, to advise him to fake an injury something in Feb/March period so he can take a few weeks break. I am worried that he has played too much football this season and that might affect him in the World Cup.

Something just occured to me, Ndidi's red card means he will MISS a PL game for Leicester for the first time since he signed for them.

People of God, Ndidi finally firced a break on himself. Somebody that has not made any careless mistakes since he entered the team just decided to have two yellow card offences today?

Wilfred Onyinye Ndidi, I put it to you that you intentionally got sent off to ensure you were rested since neither injury nor sickness has visited you or caused you to be unable to play a game. You were tired of countless 90 minutes and used Igbo sense on them. Well played brother grin

Etebo Set To Join FC Porto In January

Super Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo will join Portuguese giants FC Porto when the January transfer window opens, according to reports in Portugal.

Portuguese daily A Bola claimed on Sunday that the 22-year-old has already agreed in principle a four-year deal with the former Portuguese champions.

“Etebo will move to the Dragao Stadium in January after an agreement was reached,” the statement on A Bola claimed.

His deal with Feirense runs out in 2019 and he has scored four goals in 14 league games this season.

He joined Feirense in 2016 from Nigeria Professional Football League club Warri Wolves and was in the Nigeria squad that won bronze at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Sorry to badge in, but you didn't really answer the question. The question was: what if he keeps getting us the results without the duo...will u still persecute him?

You guys need to understand that a coach should live and die by his results, whether he invites your favorite player or not. Don't get me wrong, I am Joel Obi's biggest fan here and would like to see him get an invite. However, I am willing to live with it if Rohr decides to against inviting him .... as long as Rohr gets the results. You guys need to understand that a good team doesn't necessarily have to comprise of the best players, but the players who fit into your program and your style of play. Take for instance, Williams was Chelsea's best player two seasons ago but when Conte came, he became a fringe player in the team. But nobody questioned Conte because he was getting results.

Haha!! Ol' boy, you're a real business man grin

Let me tell you why that wouldn't be a fair bet:

You know, as well as I do, that KC would most likely start on the bench, especially if he doesn't start playing regularly by the second half of the season. And in addition, based on the group draws, England stands a much better chance of making it out of their group; hence HK would most likely have more games under his belt than KC (and that's assuming KC plays).
