Careers have been made and destroyed simply because someone finds himself in a good or bad situation. A few years back Christian Benteke was setting the EPL on fire. Where is he now? A few years ago Wilfred Bony was one of the hottest strikers in the EPL. Where is he today? A few years ago, Joe Hart was being called one of the best goalkeepers in the world but the arrival of Pep practically spelled doom to his career.

Seriously guys, we need to think twice before criticizing some of our players. Sometimes it takes more than "hard work" to get ahead in this world.

Yea, Ayo is a trip. The only character I could with him here is Forgiveness but Ayo is 10 times more annoying/opinionated than Forgiveness. I can recall how we ran him out of the CE a couple of time; then he would go into exile on ghanaweb or Camfoot and start fighting with them on there as well.

I give it to him though, that dude has an uncanny way of digging up soccer the football forum of any country you can think of. Anytime there's a big tourney like the World Cup, before you know it, Ayo is out there bantering in the web forums of our opponents.

Hence, he would need more than a few games to form good cohesion with his team mates. But once the team starts losing, the blame would go to the African guy. There's no doubt in my mind that Shakespeare would've given him a few more games if Leicester was winning games at that time. Unfortunately for him, the team was going through a slump and KC took the blame.

In reality KC has actually had too much opportunity in the context of the EPL. In the EPL you get maybe 2/3 games to show your quality or at least your potential quality.

KC is playing in the U23 is he the top scorer in the U23 league, how many goals has he scored how many hat tricks Currently there is a young teenager called Eppiah who is currently performing more than him at least in the U23's.

I think you misunderstood me. I am not saying that English some players are not good, my point is that they are grossly overrated by the British media and pundits. There are a few good players that have come out of England but in each case the British media would go crazy with their baseless comparisons. Unfortunately, each time they are put to test, they would fail woefully.

Gareth Bale had one good season with Spurs (and skinned the aged Maicon) then the British pundits went bananas. To hear them, you'll think that Bale had suddenly became the second coming of Pele. Poor Real Madrid, they bought the hype and paid a king's ransom on Bale. Well, we all know how that is working out. And I can tell you right now that Harry Kane would be a big flop if he moves to Real Madrid. Go write it down!

And by the way, Wilfred Zaha is an Ivorian player not British, so take his name outta there

That's a very sweeping statement.

English players in general lack the technical astuteness required for the top teams in La Liga and I mean Barca and Real Madrid.

However, there are other attributes which I never use to rate, probably because I was very biased towards all things technical and flair.

Having been involved with a lot of English clubs I have had to concede grudgingly that there are other attributes that give you competitive edge.

Such as tenacity, anticipation, work rate, physicality and sheer relentless doggedness. I have seen very good top level technical teams beaten by teams with far less technical ability using these attributes


However, there are at the top level some English players exceptional technical ability. Rooney, Lalana, Sturridge, Stones, Gomez, Zaha, Dele, and the new breed of young players are now just as good technically. But in addition they have far greater awareness and quality delivery in high tension games which is what the EPL teaches you.

I am willing to put in $100 provided KC play. And it's gotta be apples to apples, so if KC plays 3 matches then we gotta compare them with Kane's 3 matches.

Actually, I am not. I have always regarded Kane as a top player, but not anywhere near world class. And definitely not anywhere near the Messi, Neymar, and Cristiano Ronaldo levels as the UK pundits want us to believe. Having said that, I also think that KC is a potential top player who, unfortunately, hasn't been given enough opportunity to show class.

Let's hope he start in Russia and use that as another launching pad for this career.

komekn, I know you like everything English but you gotta agree with me on this one: English players are generally overrated. The British media and pundits tend to rate them way above their levels; hence, two things always happens with them:
1. They flop each time they move overseas to play
2. England ever wins anything in international competition

Bottom line, these players are simply NOT good enough. Don't get me wrong, I like some of their players notably: Danny Rose, Kyle Walkers, and a few other, but in general most English players are overrated. If not for EPL, most of them would not be playing for teams like Chelsea, Man Utd, ManCity, Spurs, or Arsenal.
