Nope. Shittu was sh!tty but the rest (Yobo, Odiah, and Taiwo) were solid in their prime. However, Chidi Odiah was badly hindered by injuries tho. In fact, if Odiah wasn't injury prone, that dude would've been one of the best Nigerian players in memory.
Nne, holla at me. I have something I need to discuss with you asap.

safarigirl: were 2009 Taiwo, Odiah, Yobo and Shittu really prime? Because if they were, then, the current defense is certainly better.

KPOM! I was gonna respond but, after reading your comments, I think you've covered all the angles.
OP, below is the best response you'll get on this question. You may have felt abandoned and even betrayed by the man you love, but don't rush into a divorce. Divorce is not always the solution especially when children are involved.

You should also be medically certified that you are fine.

safarigirl: I've learnt that there is really no hard and fast rule with children
I recommend finding the perfect disciplinary method depending on the child. Some kids are receptive to scolding and some others require flogging. Find the disciplinary method perfect for the child, notice what works best for each child, just because they are all kids does not mean the same thing will work across board
So, yeah, depending on the kid, caning could work with some, others just a few words and for a select few, a combination of both. It's like people who prefer injection to pills and vice versa
Truer words have never been spoken. The NFF is rotten to the core. I mean, why isn't Picnic more concerned about the teams that are not performing? Instead he wants to feck up the only national team that is producing results.

issues like this is the same thing that almost destroyed our football before rohr came on board. in an era where Nigeria is blessed with young talented players doing big things in top European leagues you expect the coach to sit down in nigeria when he has the luxury to live in Europe in order to monitor his players closely.
oliseh came and forced paul onobi on us and made us believe he is better than mikel but where is he now?
the likes of kwambe, oshaniwa, ekwuekwe, oboabona, mba, uzoenyi just to mention a few who keshi made us believe they are the 2nd coming of zizou, baresi, maradona etc where are they today? whereas the likes of omeruo, musa, mikel, moses, onazi and others from the same team are still playing in till date in better leagues
Omo, how many players do we have in Europe during Westerhof's era? Today, that 16 year Amokachie would be playing somewhere, in the backwaters, of Europe. And in addition, the Nigerian league is not as organized/competitive as it was back in the day. Hence, Rohr has no business staying in Nigeria. If we have any unpolished talented, they ought to be discovered by the cadet team coaches - U17, U21, U23 teams. Finally, Rohr has assistant coaches living in Nigeria who can monitor and recommend players for him.
Either way you look at it, the whole new clause craps is BS upon BS. Their only aim is to frustrate Rohr so he'll quit. I think they are getting tired of how Rohr has been calling them out for the unprofessional way they run naija footie. That's exactly why they want him out of the way. These people don't really care about whether naija footie is making progress or not as long as they can keep pilfering their loots.

TheGoodJoe: If Rohr stays far from Nigeria, he would not find the unpolished gems that could add a lot to the Super Eagles. Heck, the man hardly watches local games and have hardly scouted the home scene.
Westerhof found a 16 years Amokachi after watching a home game, who later became a quality player for club or country.
If Westerhof was based in Europe, he would never have noticed Amokachi and a host of others.
Anybody who supports this BS from the NFF is an enemy of Nigerian football. But I am not surprised with your stance on this matter sha. The person who actually surprised me with his post is TheGoodJoe.
Gernot Rohr has literally resurrected Nigerian football back to life; now Picnic and co are coming back to burn the house down. Sometimes I wonder if Nigeria, as a country, is accursed or something. Our national team was in shambles when we hired Clemence Westerhof, the man performed wonders and turned the Super Eagles into on of the best teams in the world. But how did we repay him, we fired him just when he's about to settle down and fully implement his long term program. Now we brought in Gernot Rohr, who not only qualified us for the World Cup against all odds but also took us to the semifinals of the AFCON after we've failed to qualify for two consecutive tournaments!
Has Picnic and the NFF forgotten what this team was prior to Gernot Rohr? They should focus on the U-23, U-21, U-17, and the Women's teams that actually need their attention and leave Rohr alone to do his job! If the so called technical committee is so good then let them perform their magic with the other national teams.
Why would Rohr spend 99% of his time in Nigeria when all our players are playing abroad? He should be in Europe monitoring our players. Blind leaders of the blind!
O pari
Mickael2: So while every Nigerian pays taxes, Rohr should come and eat taxpayers money without paying his own tax? The NFF got that spot on. It is shameful that Rohr did not use to pay his taxes, come on, that means he is stealing from the government.
Again, there is no clause there that says he must insert a local player, just that his lists will be checked first and I think that too is spot on. Nobody is forcing any player on him, but when he decides to invite players from the Bulgarian Division 2 or wherever then he will be asked to defend that choice instead of just having a free hand and we all will say 'well, he is the coach'.
I don't know about the next person, but I think this is a standard contract. $55k no be beans, effectively all the low budget countries who would want to hire Rohr definitely cannot afford that. And with that salary, we can actually get someone better.
I definitely pray so, because we need Iwobi to be playing week in week out. He's the closest thing to a natural play-maker we currently have in the Super Eagles.
Bad time to be injured tho. With the new coach incharge, if the other guys prove themselves, Alex will find it tough getting his position back. But we hope for the best sha.
TheSuperNerd: You cannot avoid what is already on in the media. Osimhen's links to Chelsea and Tammy's form with same Chelsea will always throw up that question on who is better. It is inevitable and I am addressing it without having to bother about how you feel about it...
Osimhen have shown beyond doubts he is a player for the big leagues. Pounding goals in that Lowly Lille side will always have my respect over pounding goals in a Chelsea side full of stars. That is the harsh truth.
So shouting "stop the comparison" is futile. You cannot avoid it.
And I repeat Tammy's goals in the EPL have come against lesser sides. He is yet to bang in goals against a Top 6 side and that makes him for now, a player that does not show up in the Big games. Unlike Osimhen who does show up in the big games for his lowly side, Lille.

LOL. I bet he was probably mad that Bonucci passed him over to to give the armband to Higuain, so he decided that he woudn't touch it again. Such childish pranks!

obembet: Cristiano Ronaldo refused to take the captain's armband during Juventus' 3-1 win over Udinese, instead preferring to pass it on to Blaise Matuidi due to the Frenchman's seniority in the side.
The Portuguese superstar was given the armband by Gonzalo Higuain who had inherited it from Leonardo Bonucci following the Italian's withdrawal.
When the Argentine was substituted, he passed it to Ronaldo but, due to seniority, instead decided to give it to Matuidi.

Bros, we’ve been partying since Monday. I was so carried away that I didn’t even watch Maja’s Hat trick yesterday.
I was so relieved that Leo has finally put the whole Messi v Ronaldo to rest, forever. Based on his performance so far, this season, I don’t see Cristiano winning another Ballon d’Or again.
Haha!! Why wouldn’t we count it when you guys were counting the Euro Nations League for Cristiano Ronaldo? Wasn’t that a glorified friendly as well?
