EducationRe: NANS Election: Muniru Daniel Momodu Campaigned In All 36 States, But Still Lost by ICONgold(m): 9:50pm On Dec 05, 2020
For the records, the person that won also toured the 36 States twice.

Munir is my friend too. He should be age mate with the winner except the winner looks much older. While Munir was NANS Secretary General in 2014, Asefon the winner was ZONE D Coordinator.

The winner is between 36-37years old as against 43, 45, 48 being peddled by his opposition and taken over by blogs and social media. He was my two years senior in secondary school, he completed secondary school in 2001 at Ado Grammar School while I completed mine in 2003.

There are fundamental flaws in NANS and NANS needs wholesale reform but the winner of that election is not even 38years yet. We all agree he looks older but he isn't as old as social media will want you to believe. He is currently a PG student at EKSU

We thank God for Buhari.he is God punishment grin. Your husband is a criminal he soiled his hand with evil and evil will never depart from him. He must vomit all the money he collect to tarnished the image of GEJ.
To think a Nigerian still think this way is enough to justify where we are. So to you Jonathan image was tarnished, he was the best thing to ever happened to country, he was a great president? People like Sowore don't lick ass, if his biological brother is the president and lack capacity or corrupt he will fight him. So till today nobody has come forward to say he ever gave Sowore money. Trust Nigerian politician, if he has ever be given money by anyone of them the can of worm would be open by now. Sowore fought the military, he fought the Yar'adua cabal who wants to marginalize GEJ, he fought GEJ, he is fighting Buhari that came after him. PDP hate him, APC hate him and that is the reason Nigerians should know he is fighting for them. APC/PDP are one, they are common enemy of the people.
Nairaland General10million Is For Legal Cost And Not Busola Dakolo's Damages - Lawyer Clarifies by ICONgold(op): 5:52pm On Sep 09, 2019
PRESS STATEMENT

We are counsel to Mrs. Busola Dakolo (hereinafter referred to as “Our Client”), on whose instruction we issue this press statement.

Following the mis-information being circulated in print and social media on the pending suit filed by Our Client, it has become imperative to address and clarify the true state of affairs.

The Nigeria Police Force (the Police) is still investigating the allegation of rape made by our Client against the person of Rev. Biodun Fatoyinbo. In furtherance of the Police investigation, the Suspect (Biodun Fatoyinbo) was confronted by the Complainant (Our Client) on the 5th day of September, 2019 at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Area 10, Abuja during an Investigation Conference presided over by Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Mike Ogbizi. The Police therefore has not taken anyone to Court.

However, our Client, in furtherance of her civil rights, and in line with constitutional provisions, filed a civil suit against Rev. Biodun Fatoyinbo on the 6th of September, 2019. The civil suit is independent of the criminal allegations and/or investigation of the Police.

The suit has been the subject of several news headlines, albeit with a lot of mis-leading information. This missive is aimed at clarifying these mis-information and setting the records straight.

Firstly, Our Client filed the civil suit against Rev. Biodun Fatoyinbo on the 6th day of September, 2019, at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, and not the Federal High Court, as widely reported. As at the time of filing the suit, the same was yet to be assigned to a judge for hearing.

Secondly, the Court did not issue any summons on our client and the fourteen (14) days given to the Defendant (Rev. Biodun Fatoyinbo), within which to enter appearance to the writ of summons commences from the date of personal service of said suit on the person of Rev. Biodun Fatoyinbo and this certainly will be after the matter has been assigned to a Judge.

Thirdly, our Client, has not sought for any monetary damages and/or compensation against Rev. Biodun Fatoyinbo in her reliefs. This is because our Client’s reason for filing the civil suit against Rev. Biodun Fatoyinbo, is inter-alia, for the court to make pronouncements on her rights as well as Rev. Biodun’s liabilities and also, to help other victims of sexual, physical and emotional abuse gain the courage to confront their abusers no matter how highly placed they may be.

Importantly, the N10 million naira quoted by the media is the cost of the action carried out by her lawyers, to wit, litigation fee.

Finally, we would like to state that it is against the ethics of the legal profession to make statements on the substance of the matter that is still pending in court. In view of this, we cannot make statements on other important issues surrounding the action.

Accept the assurances of our esteemed regard.

Thank you.

Nairaland GeneralThe German Cars, German Slap And The Competitions Ahead by ICONgold(op): 10:52am On Aug 22, 2019
THE GERMAN CARS, GERMAN SLAP and the Competitions Ahead.

I am an ardent lover or German cars. My love for BMW and Mercedes Benz is out of this world, I don’t own one at the moment for obvious reason, however, I wish to own at least one as soon as I can afford it. Each time I drive any of those two cars I feel luxury, class, compact and speed all together. German cars are sophisticated.

I had thought Germany is all good for sophisticated cars until I saw German slap and German chase in the video tape circulating on social media where former Deputy Senate President Ekweremadu was treated to a sophisticated German slap. While I have divided opinion regarding this slap despite my love for German products, I retrospectively feel it is expressive, an expression of near the wall goat treatment we have received from people with the mandate of leadership. When the goat is pushed to the wall, the tendency of fighting back is high and the stake is also astronomically high for both parties and casualty is almost inevitable.

There is RAGE in town, the people in the West, South and North are fast losing their cool and patience, they will fight back definitely, we’ll fight back. There is urgent need for a radical change (I no talk say revolution oooo before una go come carry me put for Kuje as if that will end the rage in town) The current system is beyond repair, we must confront this reality now or pay heavily later.
The security architecture is near collapse, there seems to be partnership between the security apparatus, criminals and terrorist to continue the CRIME/WAR BUSINESS. This is the most obvious testament of a failing nation.

You can’t shut people up by arresting every dissenting voice calling for a disrupting conversation or a radical change. People must be given freedom to express their rage when palliatives can still work, else they will, when no bullets can stop them, when no prison wall can accommodate them, when supply of tear gas shall not meet its demand, when the sod of the cemetery can’t stop them.
The automobile industry is competitive, the German cars compete with Japanese and American cars, I hope the German slap won’t start competing with others in the days ahead. The days of rage are sure ahead.

FamilyRe: I Told My Husband That I Cheated On Him. Now He Wants A Divorce. by ICONgold(m): 11:55am On May 22, 2019
He made the best choice. When you offend God, seek for God's forgiveness, when you offend men, seek for men forgives. Her husband will forgive her, he is just boiling which is understandable. With this, the probability of repeated cheating is slim. If she told God, she will still cheat again because God will understand and won't do anything immediately.

babadee1:
Telling your husband was a foolish mistake. Tell God your faults and let Him assuage your guilty conscience. Your husband can do nothing for you now. You've blown it with him.
FamilyRe: I Told My Husband That I Cheated On Him. Now He Wants A Divorce. by ICONgold(m): 11:48am On May 22, 2019
This is the first right step you have taken for both of you to heal. your husband reaction is so good and a testament to the fact that he loves you dearly, another man would have kept quiet, accept your plea and sentence you to a life time of systemic pains. Dealing ruthlessly with you and cheating to your face. Leave him, continue to beg him, call your parents before hand and let them know. Continue to beg, send people he respects but be selective in your choice of people to tell too.

Give him time to heal. Accept all the blame and don't blame anything or anyone.

He will eventually forgive you. If he doesn't you will find happiness and peace with time.

I told you in my first comment that the guy you cheated with will never stand by you or accept you if your husband divorce you.

Congratulations for telling him, when he eventually forgive you, you will hardly want to tore this path again.
NYSCThe NYSC Hope Alive Initiative Scheme by ICONgold(op): 12:38pm On May 11, 2019
Beyond the Call of Service - The NYSC Hope Alive Initiative Scheme A Boost For National Service.

Pelumi Olajengbesi Esq.

Nigeria has suffered a battered perception as a country that ignores and relegates her heroes. At different levels some people no longer find it honorable and worthy to serve their country. Tales of retired and or serving country men and women who sustain life threatening bodily damage in the course of service yet neglected or forgotten are countless. Gladly, the story is now different with the National Youth Service Corps scheme changing the narratives.

I felt so proud as a Nigerian recently when the NYSC and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria honored corps members who sustained disabling injuries in their service to the nation in the face of the entire world under the Hope Alive Initiative policy of the NYSC.

As a keen follower of the scheme's activities, I was in the know when the Hope Alive Initiative was conceived early 2015 under the former Director General of the NYSC, Major General Johnson Olawumi. The then DG, had expressed dissatisfaction with the level of welfare and intervention of government to give succcor to corps members who sustained life-threatening injuries and permanent disability in the course of their service to the country.

He then came up with the Hope Alive Initiative as a policy which government must undertake every year wherein the President will honor affected corps members in partnership with the private sector. The Initiative gives recognition to a habitually ignored class of persons in our national life who are handicapped by their disabilities in employment opportunities and thus set for a life of penury and misery without intervention. I recall that the launching of the Initiative in March 2015 attracted massive sponsorship from the public and private sector as well as notable individuals through provision of palliatives in terms of job opportunities and cash-gifts to this class of corpers so as to give them a chance at a purposeful life after service.

It is indeed a commendable feat that this initiative has continued beyond Major General Olawumi as the now out-going Director General of the Scheme, Major General Kazaure demonstrated patriotism by promoting and sustaining the initiative. It is no secret that occasional concerns emerge in public service given the usual style of our political class to neglect good policies because they don’t emanate from them. However, the men in khaki have demonstrated patriotism in this regards.

This for me underscores two things:  the importance of always leaving behind a legacy that speaks potently of one’s capacity for leadership and the gains of sustaining good policies by successive public officers.

A perennial curse that attends most public policies that are people oriented is that it suffers neglect or grows obsolete. The lack of dynamism in certain government MDA ‘s, ministries, parastatals or agencies is a crippling factor in national growth. It is thus highly recommendable of the  NYSC to have stayed the course of adjusting to unfolding dynamism while staying true to its core objective to integrate the diverse ethnic groups that make up the nation through a clarion call to service.

The adaptability of the Scheme is traceable to the leadership it has been blessed with overtime, each of whom can be argued to have improved on and innovated the Scheme to best inculcate the right values system, cater to individuality in the scheme while assuring each participants of their importance to the nation.

It would be arduous to fully describe and identify each of these innovations yet this  in particular stands out as a beacon of hope to the people and a succor to a special class of corpers incapacitated during their service to the nation. The beneficiaries of this initiative and many Nigerians would certainly be grateful to Major General Olawumi for initiating such a policy and Major General Kazaure for vigorously pursuing a sound policy sustainability direction.

One must appreciate the private sector for keying into and supporting the Hope Alive Scheme. This is ample proof of how the NYSC scheme is truly a national effort not just at integrating the people but all sectors that make up the nation too. It is my appeal that the private sector such as multi nationals should key into it more by incorporating it into their annual corporate social responsibility schedule.

As a new Director General of the NYSC takes over from General Kazaure, it is hoped that the Hope Alive Initiative is indeed kept alive. It is commendable to see that this appears to be the case with the recent gifting of disabled corp members with money and job opportunities.

We do not pray for our corpers to lose their lives or limbs in service to the nation but we are indeed reassured that their sacrifices would never go without mention and care from the government. It is our national duty that this young men and women be assured that their labors are not in vain and their nation would never forget them in their moments of immense need as this scheme has done and will hopefully continue to do.

PoliticsAdeleke Rejects Verdict On Osun Guber Poll, Heads To Supreme Court by ICONgold(op): 1:16pm On May 10, 2019
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2018 Osun State governorship election, Ademola Adeleke, has declared he would contest yesterday’s Appeal Court verdict at the Supreme Court.

The court in Abuja had set aside an earlier judgment of the Osun State Governorship Election Tribunal, which nullified the victory of Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

In a majority judgment of four to one, the court nullified the judgment of the tribunal delivered by Peter Obiorah on the grounds that Obiorah relied on the evidence of two witnesses, which he did not observe. Justice Jummai Sankey consequently declared the tribunal’s decision a nullity and set it aside.

But in a statement made available to newsmen in Osogbo, the Osun State capital yesterday, Adeleke said he received the judgment with dissatisfaction, vowing: “I have instructed my counsel to prepare for an appeal against today’s judgment at the Supreme Court immediately.”

He claimed the ruling “relied on a weak technical foundation” as “the substantive issue, which formed the basis of the lower tribunal’s judgment, was relegated to the background.”

He insisted: “We are reviewing the full ruling and action has already commenced to appeal the judgment and ensure the eventual retrieval of the stolen mandate.”

According to him, “We are taking the legal battle further to the topmost court in the land. I am confident the apex court will upturn today’s unsustainable ruling.”

He told members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State and his campaign organisation: “The struggle is now at the most critical stage. We cannot waiver or slow down. We must forge ahead in high spirit until final victory is attained.”

PDP national vice-chairman (southwest), Eddy Olafeso, also decried the judgment, saying: “We are certainly thinking, and importantly, in conjunction with our candidate, Ademola Adeleke, to exploit the only available option to us by appealing against this decision at the Supreme Court.”

In a statement issued to journalists in Akure, Ondo State capital, yesterday, he maintained that the “APC did not fairly win that election and President Buhari gave this view credence when he publicly described the victory of his party as ‘remote controlled’, thereby confirming that power privileges were criminally abused by his government and party.”

Similarly, the Osun State chapter of the party described the verdict as shocking, expressing optimism that the apex court would turn the tables.

“We have hope in the judiciary. That does not mean that once in a while there won’t be some hiccups in the judicial process. It is understandable and expected that all judges are not the same and they don’t think the same way. We believe that at the end of the day the Supreme Court will do justice to our case and victory will be ours,” party chairman, Soji Adagunodo, said in a statement.

But the All Progressives Congress (APC) welcomed the Appeal Court judgment. “There has been a lot of expectations and anxiety on both sides until this morning when the judgment was given in favour of the APC,” said Osun State APC spokesman, Kunle Oyatomi in a statement.

According to him, “This judgment has put the records straight much beyond the controversy over last November’s governorship election.” He added: “We believe it is time to move on and concentrate efforts on the transformation work that started in 2010 and which the people have mandated Governor Gboyega Oyetola to continue and improve upon.”

Oyetola meanwhile said the victory proved there was a limit to the extent falsehood and propaganda could thrive over truth and the will of the people.

Reacting to the judgment, he said: “After months of uncertainty and wait in judicial wilderness, truth has finally prevailed over falsehood and the voice of the majority has ultimately gained dominance over the phoney manipulation of an unscrupulous minority.”

He also thanked the people of the state for their “robust support and steadfastness throughout the needless periods of political travail and tribulation.”

FamilyRe: I Cheated On My Husband With A Guy From Work And I Don't Know What To Do. by ICONgold(m): 1:42pm On May 01, 2019
Hello. Thanks for seeking help, it is a step forward and a step in the right direction. This is grievous but shit happens. It is more bad because your husband is responsible, mature and loving. The fact is that you didn't cheat because you are not sexually attracted to your husband, you cheated because you wanted to cheat and flirt. How did you marry someone you were not sexually attracted to in the first place?

You must first accept it has nothing to do with your husband sexual ability but the information, pictures, images and videos you occupy yourself with. If you watch porn, your first assignment is trying to seek help on how to stop it. That been said, you should talk to your husband about this if you ever want to stop. He will be angry, it will break a cord of trust, he may say you should move out but if he really loves you, might give you a second chance. With time, your commitment and loyalty he will heal. If you fail to tell him, he will eventually find out and that will be too bad for both of you, if you are lucky he will divorce you peacefully, if you are not, you may lose part of your body and God forbid life.
That you know deep down inside you that you don't want the excapade stops is enough reason for you to get a divorce and enjoy sex with your boyfriend but he won't marry you and don't blame him, he knows you will still cheat on him. But really stop watching porn and you and your husband can seek help help with experts.
I wish you well in your choice between love where you can work with your husband to get good sex and your sex without love with the risk of losing everything else

PoliticsConstituents Declare Federal Law Maker Personal Non Grata by ICONgold(op): 1:17pm On May 16, 2018
Wole Oke, Member House of Reps, Declared Persona Non Grata by Constituent.
Hon. Wole Oke, Member of House of Representatives representing the people of Oriade/OBOKUN Federal Constituency in the National Assembly had been declared persona non grata by his people.

Speaking on behalf of youths in Ijebu Ijesa, the headquarters of the constituency, Mr.
Damilare Adeniyi accuse the Honourable for insulting the sensibilities of the people he represents on facebook. In his statement;
We are shocked by the public post of Mr. Wole Oke, member representing Oriade/Obokun in the House of Representatives on his Facebook platform just recently. Said post brazenly insults the sensibilities of the people of Ijebu Ijesa Land and must be condemned for its condescending insinuations.

Wole Oke, in his Facebook post, boasted about a N7.5million 'donation' at the Egboro Day he made to the people of Ijebu Ijesa and insinuated that the people of Ijebu Ijesa had no real value because their love for him was premised on his cash gifts to them. He even boasts and asks, "Can someone love Egboro land more better than me with such a huge amount of money?".
We make bold to say that the people of Ijebu Ijesa are not beggars and do not sell their affections or love for money. Our people are honourable even if Mr. 'Honourable' has dishonoured them publicly, bringing insults and ridicule to our leaders, parents and hardworking youths.
We also want Wole Oke to wake up from his slumber. Egboro land is blessed with so many great men and women who have selflessly contributed to its development and continue to do so. These are great men and women who are not interested in buying the love and affection of the people but are driven by a noble heart and sincere intentions.

Wole Oke 's claims on Facebook is proof that whatever he does for the society is not selfless but borne out of a desire to purchase the people's goodwill for his electoral successes and ego. It is truly disappointing to see a representative of the people quantify their affections in such a ridiculous way, and undermine their feelings. The people of Egboro land have done absolutely nothing to be treated this way. Let us place it on record that the constitutency has given him more than what he could ever pay back or achieve by himself.
It is our considered opinion that Wole Oke should very quickly tender a public apology to the people. I will personally write a letter to the Kabiesi of Ijebu and other leaders to ensure we don't continue to take such insults from politicians again.
Let it be clear to Hon. Wole Oke that we the youths of Ijebu Ijesa do not recognise him again as we are irritated by his insults on us and our people. There is no knowledge of how else he wrongly perceives our people or what this perception will lead him to do.
In fact, what he personalises as a donation may be little out of the people's constituency entitlement.

We simply refuse to identify with Wole Oke henceforth. His Facebook post has revealed his sinister mind and how he sees us all. We refuse to be objectified and quantified for ego and personal gains.

PoliticsObasanjo Drop Bombshell; Says Buhari Incapable by ICONgold(op): 3:46pm On Jan 23, 2018
Ex-president, Olusegun Obasanjo has in a 13-page Scathing statement called on the president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari to bury any plans of recontesting in 2019.
Obasanjo, in a special press statement obtained by PoliticsNGR, titled “The Way Out: A Clarion Call for Coalition for Nigeria Movement”, urged President Buhari to “honourably dismount from the Horse” and join the league of the country’s former leaders whose “experience, influence, wisdom, and outreach can be deployed on the sideline for the good of the country.”

Obasanjo disclosed that he feels disappointed with Buhari’s performance. OBJ also wrote a similar letter in 2013 against President Goodluck Jonathan, wrote; “Even the horse rider then, with whom I maintain very cordial, happy and social relationship today has come to realise his mistakes and regretted it publicly and I admire his courage and forthrightness in this regard,”.

“He has a role to play on the sideline for the good of Nigeria, Africa, and humanity and I will see him as a partner in playing such a role nationally and internationally, but not as a horse rider in Nigeria again.”
“The lice of poor performance in government – poverty, insecurity, poor economic management, nepotism, gross dereliction of duty, condonation of misdeed – if not outright encouragement of it, lack of progress and hope for the future, lack of national cohesion and poor management of internal political dynamics and widening inequality – are very much with us today,” he wrote.

“With such lice of general and specific poor performance and crying poverty with us, our fingers will not be dry of ‘blood’,” he added.

OBJ thanked Buhari for the way he handled the Boko Haram crisis but pointed out that he failed to be efficient in other areas. He admitted knowing that Buhari was weak in handling the economy, he went ahead and voted for him because at the time “it was a matter of ‘any option but Jonathan’” and because he thought Mr Buhari would appoint qualified Nigerians to help out in that area.

He slammed Mr Buhari for turning a blind eye to corruption within his government saying it amounted to condonation and cover-up saying whoever is “going to justice must be with clean hands.”

He also berated Mr Buhari for allowing the clashes between herdsmen and farmers to go “sour” and messy saying the endorsement of the President by some governors to seek re-election barely 24 hours after 73 people who were killed by herdsmen in Benue State were given mass burial was “a sad symptom of insensitivity and callousness.”

But Mr. Obasanjo reserved his harshest words for what he described as Mr. Buhari’s clannishness, lack of understanding of the dynamics of politics, and his tendencies to pass the buck of his government’s inadequacies to the immediate past administration.

“But there are three other areas where President Buhari has come out more glaringly than most of us thought we knew about him. One is nepotic deployment bordering on clannishness and inability to bring discipline to bear on errant members of his nepotic court. This has grave consequences on performance of his government to the detriment of the nation. It would appear that national interest was being sacrificed on the altar of nepotic interest. What does one make of a case like that of Maina: collusion, condonation, ineptitude, incompetence, dereliction of responsibility or kinship and friendship on the part of those who should have taken visible and deterrent disciplinary action? How many similar cases are buried, ignored or covered up and not yet in the glare of the media and the public?

“The second is his poor understanding of the dynamics of internal politics. This has led to wittingly or unwittingly making the nation more divided and inequality has widened and become more pronounced. It also has effect on general national security.

“The third is passing the buck. For instance, blaming the Governor of the Central Bank for devaluation of the naira by 70% or so and blaming past governments for it, is to say the least, not accepting one’s own responsibility. Let nobody deceive us, economy feeds on politics and because our politics is depressing, our economy is even more depressing today. If things were good, President Buhari would not need to come in. He was voted to fix things that were bad and not engage in the blame game.”

Buhari and the APC not the Solution to Nigeria’s Problem

Mr Obasanjo thus argued that neither Mr Buhari nor his party, the All Progressives Congress hold the solution to the country’s problems. He suggested that Mr Buhari was not healthy enough to withstand the rigour associated with running a country like Nigeria neither does his party capable of providing the answer needed to sail the country through its difficulties.

Mr Obasanjo said Buhari should step down at the end of his first term with honour and dignity and attend to his health and should not listen to the his “self-serving so-called adviserswho would claim that they love him more than God loves him and that without him, there would be no Nigeria say.”

“President Buhari needs a dignified and honourable dismount from the horse. He needs to have time to reflect, refurbish physically and recoup and after appropriate rest, once again, join the stock of Nigerian leaders whose experience, influence, wisdom and outreach can be deployed on the side line for the good of the country. His place in history is already assured. Without impaired health and strain of age, running the affairs of Nigeria is a 25/7 affair, not 24/7.

“I only appeal to brother Buhari to consider a deserved rest at this point in time and at this age. I continue to wish him robust health to enjoy his retirement from active public service. President Buhari does not necessarily need to heed my advice. But whether or not he heeds it, Nigeria needs to move on and move forward,” he said.

“I have had occasion in the past to say that the two main political parties – APC and PDP – were wobbling. I must reiterate that nothing has happened to convince me otherwise. If anything, I am reinforced in my conviction. The recent show of PDP must give grave and great concern to lovers of Nigeria.

“To claim, as has been credited to the chief kingmaker of PDP, that for procuring the Supreme Court judgement for his faction of the Party, he must dictate the tune all the way and this is indeed fraught with danger.

“If neither APC nor PDP is a worthy horse to ride to lead Nigeria at this crucial and critical time, what then do we do? Remember Farooq Kperogi, an Associate Professor at the Kennesaw State University, Georgia, United States, calls it “a cruel Hobson’s choice; it’s like a choice between six and half a dozen, between evil and evil. Any selection or deflection would be a distinction without a difference.” We cannot just sit down lamenting and wringing our hands desperately and hopelessly.

Coalition of Nigerians

Having ruled out the PDP and the ruling APC of possessing the panacea to the malaise that ails the country, Mr Obasanjo therefore called for a movement he termed Coalition of Nigeria, which he offered to be a part of, to wrest power from the present ruling class and lead the country into the path of rebirth.

“We can collectively save ourselves from the position we find ourselves. It will not come through self-pity, fruitless complaint or protest but through constructive and positive engagement and collective action for the good of our nation and ourselves and our children and their children. We need moral re-armament and engaging togetherness of people of like-mind and goodwill to come solidly together to lift Nigeria up. This is no time for trading blames or embarking on futile argument and neither should we accept untenable excuses for non-performance.

“Let us accept that the present administration has done what it can do to the limit of its ability, aptitude and understanding. Let the administration and its political party platform agree with the rest of us that what they have done and what they are capable of doing is not good enough for us. They have given as best as they have and as best as they can give. Nigeria deserves and urgently needs better than what they have given or what we know they are capable of giving. To ask them to give more will be unrealistic and will only sentence Nigeria to a prison term of four years if not destroy it beyond the possibility of an early recovery and substantial growth.

“The development and modernization of our country and society must be anchored and sustained on dynamic Nigerian culture, enduring values and an enchanting Nigerian dream. We must have abiding faith in our country and its role and place within the comity of nations. Today, Nigeria needs all hands on deck. All hands of men and women of goodwill must be on deck. We need all hands to move our country forward.

“We need a Coalition for Nigeria, CN. Such a Movement at this juncture needs not be a political party but one to which all well-meaning Nigerians can belong. That Movement must be a coalition for democracy, good governance, social and economic well-being and progress. Coalition to salvage and redeem our country. You can count me with such a Movement. Last time, we asked, prayed and worked for change and God granted our request. This time, we must ask, pray and work for change with unity, security and progress. And God will again grant us. Of course, nothing should stop such a Movement from satisfying conditions for fielding candidates for elections. But if at any stage the Movement wishes to metamorphose into candidate-sponsoring Movement for elections, I will bow out of the Movement because I will continue to maintain my non-partisan position. Coalition for Nigeria must have its headquarters in Abuja.

“This Coalition for Nigeria will be a Movement that will drive Nigeria up and forward. It must have a pride of place for all Nigerians, particularly for our youth and our women. It is a coalition of hope for all Nigerians for speedy, quality and equal development, security, unity, prosperity and progress. It is a coalition to banish poverty, insecurity and despair. Our country must not be oblivious to concomitant danger around, outside and ahead. Coalition for Nigeria must be a Movement to break new ground in building a united country, a socially-cohesive and moderately prosperous society with equity, equality of opportunity, justice and a dynamic and progressive economy that is self-reliant and takes active part in global division of labour and international decision-making.

“The Movement must work out the path of development and the trajectory of development in speed, quality and equality in the short- medium- and long-term for Nigeria on the basis of sustainability, stability, predictability, credibility, security, cooperation and prosperity with diminishing inequality. What is called for is love, commitment and interest in our country, not in self, friends and kinship alone but particularly love, compassion and interest in the poor, underprivileged and downtrodden.

Nairaland GeneralBbnaija: 2019 General Election, Some Youth Won't Still Get Involved Like BBN by ICONgold(op): 8:51am On Apr 10, 2017
We'll present a brilliant, innovative, creative and idea filled young person to run for Presidency in 2019. Voting will be free, you will be surprised he/she won't get as much Vote as Marvis, the 4th Runner up in BBnaija and won't get social media mention as Soma one of the first set to be evicted in the show Fela will call "Baba Nla Nonsense". We are so sick a nation and stupid as young people.

Do you think BBN is a misplaced priority especially given the passion, commitment and energy Nigerians youth put into it.

PoliticsKeep Quite: Right Activist Caution Mimiko On Ondo Speakership Election by ICONgold(op): 2:20pm On Jan 05, 2017
THE ONDO STATE SPEAKERSHIP RACE Vol. 2.

MIMIKO SHOULD HANDS OFF HIS INTEREST IN ONDO STATE SPEAKER'S SEAT

Pelumi Olajengbesi Esq.

This morning I wrote about the Ondo State SPEAKERSHIP race and I got several calls from interested stakeholders from the state all sharing their view and further enlightening us on the stakes and moves in play.

Let me reiterate that our interest is in a Speaker that is youthful, competent, credible, vibrant and from the Central Senatorial district. It is important that this interest remains clear amidst the insinuations about.

Beyond political interests and whatnot is a variable in politics termed 'political sensibility'. It is an umbrella word for the capacity of the electorates or the people of a given political space to feel respected or disrespected, taken for granted or accorded consideration.

One of the greatest damage political leaders do to themselves is to get to a bloated point where they take for granted the political sensibilities of the people. At this point, the intelligence of people are raped by the misguided priorities or sense of entitlement of political leaders. It is into this abyss of wrong that the outgoing Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo state, seem to be plummeting.

There is no doubting the stellar performance of Mr. Governor in his eight years in office. We are in fact proud of him in that regard. However, painfully typical of most Nigerian leaders, Mr. Governor has set himself on a path of political miscalculation and a reckless effrontery on the sensibilities of his people. It is simply wrong.

Those who have Dr. Mimiko 's ears should kindly advise him against the destructive course he has set himself on. The race for the Speakership of the Ondo House of Assembly must be allowed to play out evenly. It should honestly not be the pre-occupation of the outgoing Governor.

The whole meddling is made even more worrisome and unacceptable seeing as how his attempt is to force his kinsman from his Ondo town Hon. Akinsoyinu or his confidant, person of Kemi Adesanya ( whom I'd be profiling soon), on the Speakership seat. This is a gross disrespect of the principles of fair and independent governance he once championed.

Our sympathy is to the youth of Nigeria which Olamide George personifies. Any attempt to silence and oppress Olamide Gorge is a conspiracy against the candidacy of the youths and student-family constituency of Ondo State . Nothing, and I mean nothing, can stop an idea whose time has come. For Olamide George, it is divine and to us all here it is simply time for Nigerian youths to rise and strategically position themselves in addressing the Nigerian question.

We therefore appeal to Dr. Olusegun Mimiko to appraise his actions or inaction in the interest of the state. It is hoped he extricates himself from the mirage of self-importance that looking too long in the mirror of power inflicts on the best of us. It would be sad to see crumbling all the blocks of nation-building that he has over the course of eight years put together. Vindictiveness never pays. His exit from office should be seen as an opportunity for rest and sober reflection.

Dr. Olusegun Mimiko is still floating and he must not assist himself to sink.

A word is enough.

PoliticsOndo Apc Crisis: Tunji Abayomi Should Shut Up... by ICONgold(op): 12:52pm On Aug 22, 2016
ONDO APC CRISIS: A TALE OF POLITICAL DESPIRATION BY WEAK POLITICAL PLAYERS
In an attempt to conduct a neutral examination and x-stray the intricacies surrounding the crisis rocking the Ondo State Chapter of the All Progressive Party (APC) I have made frantic effort on subjecting the claims, counter claims, allegations and counter allegations flying around within the camps to a test of objectivity and reality. I consider my conclusions and deduction worthy of sharing with observers of the Ondo decision process.
We must remind ourselves that politics is the pursuit of political power and competition for political power. While political power is the ability to shape and control the political behavior of others and to lead and guide their behavior in the direction desired by the person, group, or institution wielding the political power. Political power is the capacity to influence, condition, mold, and control human behavior for the accomplishment of political objectives. That is to say, political power is the ability of one political actor--e.g., an individual citizen, a family, an interest group, a political action committee; a political party to influence the decision and judgment of others without necessarily forcing such on them. While I do not intent to teach us politics, I find it imperative for the sake of my argument and clarifications to shortly make reference to sources of power (a) Referent or Personal Power– The ability of leaders to develop followers from the strength of their own personalities (b) Expert Power– the ability to control others behavior because of the possession knowledge, experience, or judgment that they do not have but need. (c) Legitimate or Position Power – stems from an authority's legitimate right to require and demand compliance (d) Reward Power – the extent to which a manager can use extrinsic and intrinsic rewards to control others. (e)Coercive Power– The extents to which a manager can deny desired rewards or administers punishment to control others. So in party politics, the use of a, b and d is very legitimate and democratic, the use of c and e as the case maybe might meet resistance as the constituted powers in the party uses this through position and this might include party executives and electoral umpires set up by the party. A,b and d, above always meet commitment, enthusiastic release of energy and talent to satisfy the leader’s request.
Relating the above analysis to Ondo State experience now and the claim of some governorship hopeful in the State against Asiwaju Bola Tinubu who in his legitimate right has used his political influence to back a candidate as claimed by his accusers, it is apparent he has only used a,b and d above which is internationally acceptable and conform with global standard of political power play. Had Asiwaju been in the leadership of the state party structure, national leadership structure or the primary election electoral committee, it would have been fundamentally wrong to support a candidate as power exhibited in that regards would have been categorized under analysis c and e above which might not give chance to free and fair primary election process.

The brouhaha generated therefore through an individual(Asiwaju Bola Tinubu) supporting his choice candidate is needless and a great disservice to the party by desperados in an attempt to cause needless crises and geared public sympathy. The avoidable jittery cry has brought embarrassment to the party and the protagonists should be ashamed of themselves as their action has exposed their weakness and acceptance of defeat in the race to the ticket. I met Dr Tunji Abayomi about six years ago during an interview session with my crew “Voice of Conscience Magazine” and he exhibited great knowledge of political understanding through the position he articulated and immediately earned my respect. While I personally believe he remain one of the finest politician in Nigeria who without any doubt could trusted with leadership, I am particularly very disappointed by his outburst against Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for making his choice. My respect for him further declined when he wrote public letters to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to ventilate his anger and desperation for power, one would wonder when it became crime for someone to use his legitimate influence in politics. The big question we should all asked the brilliant Dr Tunji Abayomi is had Asiwaju Bola Tinubu built his tent with him, what would have been his reaction, would he have rejected such support and start championing commotion within the party ranks to the extent of resulting to verbal and physical attack on the party institutions? Had Dr Tunji Abayomi not sought the support and influence of politicians (Asiwaju Bola Tinubu inclusive) and has anybody criminalize him or those supporting him for picking him among others?

I wish to encourage Dr Tunji Abayomi to keep shut and face the business of convincing delegates to vote for him and exercise influence too, if he has one. He should also swallow the bitter pill of pride and apologize to his friend and leader, and the party for the embarrassment caused. While I still respect his brilliancy and intelligence, I think I will do our doctor great service by reminding him there is a big line between activism and politics.

I wish Dr Tunji Abayomi the best as he learns more in the school of politics.

EducationRe: Uniabuja SUG President Suspended Over Alleged Fund Looting by ICONgold(m): 12:57pm On May 16, 2016
RE: University of Abuja SUG President suspended.

Our attention has been drawn to a malicious media attack on Comr Olajengbesi Pelumi, a former President at the University of Abuja by some character assassins and disgruntled elements, that he Pelumi at one time or the other received monetary benefit from the embattled Uniabuja SUG president ”Chris ifeanyi” to help him mediate in his corruption allegation to escape the cause of justice.

Let it be on note that Comr Olajengbesi Pelumi has graduated from the University of Abuja and not directly involved in how the students union government is been run except for his statesmanship and advisory role to the generality of the students through his various personally accredited social media platforms.

Let it also be on note that Comr Pelumi has zero tolerance for corruption and will not in any way try to shield anyone no matter how close to him from facing justice if alleged and found guilty of corrupt practices.

We are therefore not surprised to see how far these anti-pelumi remnant in the students movement can go to bring his highly revered person into mud haven tried unsuccessfully all through his time in the university.

Comr Pelumi will continue to play his advisory role to the union when and where necessary while commending the union’s parliament for defending the commonwealth of the students.

He therefore wish to advise the parliament to give room for peace in the university while also ensuring anyone found culpable of siphoning the union’s treasury is brought to book in a manner stipulated by the constitution.

Corruption must be killed at all level if we must experience development.

Fellow Nigerians, I thank you for your support and patriotism as we journey together in this turbulence flight of returning our nation back to its destined prosperity. We must all stay committed to our resolve to make this nation work, if that is only our legacy, our coming generation shall be proud of us. I stood before you at the eagles square few months ago to swear to an oath to give you leadership and provide a platform for our collective prosperity, I committed my integrity to be neutral to all Nigerians and deal with everyone with sincerity and open mindedness, these lofty promises I hold sacrosanct in my heart and it will continue to guide my action all through my regime.

We have shown our zero tolerance for corruption, Nigeria of our dream can only be achievable if we come together and kill corruption before it kills us. I will continue to provide political will for anti-graft agencies and the judiciary to bring into books everyone that has illegally enriched themselves with our common patrimony. The arms gate investigation is on with considerable progress, preliminary investigation into the oil sector has started and I have sanctioned a holistic investigation into the administration of amnesty in the last five years. The TSA implementation is yielding a great result and over 2.2Trillion now recovered and more than 23,000 ghost workers uncovered. I pledge before you again to do everything within me to make Nigeria a better place for all of us.

Fellow Nigerians, the recent issues surrounding the budget I submitted to NASS is very regrettable, as a government we deeply regret the embarrassment we have caused ourselves and the nation. I put myself forward to take all the blame as I have promised you to lead from the front. It is no more news to inform you the budget had been compromised. In the interim, I have directed the Secretary to Government of the Federation to withdraw the compromised budget. I plead for your understanding at this period as corruption has eaten deeper than we anticipated, the presidency is not excepted from this institutionalized corruption that has eaten deep to our national life, but let me assure you, the perpetrators of this felony shall be brought to book. I have instituted a special investigatory committee to investigate the infiltration of the budget with frivolity and the committee shall report straight to me. I stand on the constitution of this nation and make bold to say, the perpetrator will not escape the full wrath of the law. In the next 20days, the budget shall be reviewed and send back to the senate. I have also directed all ministries, parastatal and agencies to cooperate fully with the committee. Together we will wash this nation off indiscipline and corruption.

On the war against terror in the North East, we have recorded tremendous progress in the last few months, thanks to the commitment and patriotism of our troupe, some of who has paid the utmost prize. We will intensify effort to purge our country off terrorism. I have directed the military chiefs to intensify both air and land strike on all the hide out of the terrorist. During my visit to Maiduguru, I was assured by our army that the end of terrorism is in sight. Fellow Nigerians, let us continue to pray for our soldiers as they fight to keep our territorial sovereignty and clear our country of terrorism. We must also continue to pray for the soul of our martyrs who has paid the utmost prize fighting for their fatherland. Government through our heroes foundation will continue to take responsibility over their immediate families. I have in the last UN security summit reinstated our commitment to finding and rescuing our girls kidnapped at Chibok over a year ago. My heart weakens each time I remember the agony of their parents and how the girls would be feeling failed and neglected by their country. I assure you once again, I stand before you today that I will use all the resources of my office to ensure the girls are reunited with their family and terrorism defeated in our nation. Though the war is far from being won but with renewed commitment and motivation of troupe in the North East, the end is very near.

We promised change and that change will start by our sincerity and transparency in governance. I promise to continue to exhibit high level of transparency and probity.

Thank you for keeping the faith.

Thank for supporting me on this journey of economic and material prosperity of our nation.

God bless Nigeria.

Former UniAbuja SUG President, Icon Olajengbesi Pelumi and others launched 1st in history Luxury Executive Accommodation in the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus, for 450k covering the entire duration of the programme and 50k monthly service charge.

Nigerian Law School Lagos Campus has just unveiled a highly furnished luxury EXECUTIVE Accommodation with former University of Abuja SUG President, Icon Olajengbesi Pelumi as the first Law School students to be launched the first Executive Suit.

The Nigerian Law School is a compulsory one year program for all prospective lawyers with about five campuses in Nigeria having Lagos as the first campus, while Lagos and Abuja seem to be the two prominent campuses.

Lagos has consistently been rated the best law school campus in Nigeria, also acclaimed the most serious and difficult campus where students are subjected to rigorous academic training though coming behind Abuja Campus on conducive accomodation system.

However, the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus just unveiled a 10 Luxury Executive suites for only 10 students out of over 1420 running the professional program in the school. Grapevine has it that each room cost 450k and a service charge of 50k every month. Surprisingly, The Executive suites have two University of Abuja students. There is also a serving member of the Nigerian Senate, a senior staff with EFCC, a prominent house of assembly member from Osun, a former local government chairman and other prominent personalities, having former UniAbuja SUG President offered the first and special one by the DDG herself.

The wing nicknamed law school hotel by some Law School Students. The comfort is high and the freedom is long, however, some people had said that people living with such comfort and luxury stands the risk of failing the Bar. Part II exams as they have access to 24hours power supply, individual dstv, full air condition, fridge, gmy and other surprising luxury excesses sufficient of being a source of distraction for professional examination students.
