Without any prejudice to the other providers, two names kept popping up during my research process, a few years back when I decided the third-party cover wasn't enough for me and needed something more 'covering'.

They were and still are:

1. Leadway Assurance and
2. Axa Mansard Insurance.

Quick Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with any of the above companies nor will I receive any sort of compensation for this opinion shared. This is my research and personal experience, nothing more.

However, as with all things important, do your own research and ask questions that are important to you. These two I found to be my best, may unfortunately not be yours if your situation and comprehensive cover needs vary widely from mine.

Importantly, before you settle for any company, make certain to talk to at least two persons who have had claims with said companies and hear their stories. This is how to come to a rational conclusion about a company worth your time and money.

When you finally decide, negotiate your terms/cover, and importantly, read the fine print carefully. Many Nigerians don't and therein lie their woes, just waiting to happen!

If it's not haulage of people good, you won't have heat issues when there is no AC.

The CE has not tint so no need of tint permit but ensure the CE you are buying has roof rack. Also the CE rear windows aren't automatic you have to open it manually which is stressful. CE has middle bench seat against captain arm in the other trims but the bench makes it easy to empty the sienna of seat for more cargo space and can easily seat 3 people against 2 for captain arm chairs

The symphony edition is the best you get good audio system and more speakers with probably a middle mirror that has temp and location telling.

LE and XLE are the other trims with some LE having fabric seat instead of leather.

For parts as at the time I was in charge of maintenance, I did say it is the cheapest car I have ever owned b4 the advent of buhari,

Engine was 100-120k still on my factory engine

Gear was 50k to 90k still on my factory gear

Shocks front Chinese new 20k for both still using since 2018

Shocks rear Chinese new 15k for both still using since 2019

Front rotor complete brandnew 10k for both legs changed 2018 still using it

Rear drum setup 15k for both never changed but rust showed me shege, I changed minor parts here, springs, drum lining hook etc was very cheap.

If you have problem with the fuel pump, the tank must always come down and mechanic go bill you like 3 to 5k just to unbolt and bolt the tank only minus workmanship, yeah it's a serious work that gives neck cramps if the tank hits the ground often (mine was hooked by tree stomp during my garri hauling days) bye bye to fuel sender unit, your fuel gauge would always show error forever.

I never had problem with engine used 5w40 for 6 years, no smoke no delay, I was only stranded once when my AC compressor froze and the water pump, alternator belt shred to pieces.

If you refuse to change gear oil at regular intervals I did say you will change your gear as soon as possible especially high mileage vehicles, change transmission fluid every 1 and 1-half years if not sorry is your case, I know 6 people who changed gear because of that, that's how I knew the gear price then.

Headlamps start fading after you change the bulb to those in naija except you get original Philip bulbs.

Engine seals may start leaking oil especially at the rear of the engine, a job which is a bit uncomfortable.

Steering rack from what I gathered was 30k, it leaks and hardens when idle but soft when moving. Mine started leaking after a year even till now.

Be careful of Canadian or snowy region import rust tend to affect their underneath, I broke 2 lower arms and it destroyed a brand new tire I just thank God I wasn't on speed else nah accident be that. I fixed rust which was minimal as the rusted parts were changeable but my chassis was okay no rust

Lastly the drum brakes hate water (flood) they will just bind, I battled this several, i just eventually stopped using the hand brake and bought good brake lining.

Bought mine tokunbo 2014 still own it but rarely driven

Here are some random bits of wisdom that will make your vehicle ownership a thing of joy and not a pot of stress and cloak of sorrow:

1. If you can, buy brand new or foreign used only. If foreign used, make certain to run the VIN and inspect it properly with a mechanic that knows his onions not those ones who think a clean coat equals a good vehicle. By all means, avoid Nigerian used cars. 99.9% are not used...they are abused!

2. Buy a car that you can comfortably maintain and replace if need be. Also, buy one that you actually need. Do not buy stuff to impress society or worse, pick chicks. It ends in premium tears. Always.

3. Read the entire vehicle manual and service schedule well before buying the vehicle or right after. In fact, study it like someone who is preparing for a professional exam. E get why.

4. Flowing from the above, do not allow a Kazeem mess up your vehicle. Ever. If your mechanic begins to say two different things work the same function or 'e no mean', or 'because of Naija hot weather' etc. it is time to walk away!

5. Always go with the manufacturer's recommendations, not what one Kazeem says or what another sad owner has done. If your vehicle comes with an 'automatic compressor' for instance, do not change it 'manual' when it needs replacement. Replace with the exact part, right up to part number that you take out for change.

6. As a new car owner and driver, a simple, older 4 cylinder vehicle will lend itself to easier understanding than a newer 6 or 8 cylinder one.

7. Speed kills and zaps fuel. It also causes bashes and scratches that can be avoided. If person pass you for road, allow am go. You no know wetin dey pursue am

8. Always renew your vehicle papers and make certain that you have all that matters. On the road, this equates to ultimate peace of mind.

9. [/b]Comprehensive insurance cover isn't a waste of money. Rather, it is the smartest thing to do, if you can afford it. You will thank yourself you did when an issue arises. Choose your provider carefully though, many are not worth it![b]

10. Never, ever, allow a friend drive your vehicle or worse, borrow it out. E get why.

11. Finally, as far as I can remember at this time, buy brand new tires. Always. And when at it, buy premium, not the many Chinese stuff out there. Do not listen to anyone that swears by used tires, the so-called graded 'toks'. It ends in tears. Always. And, again, keep your rims stock. Avoid the fancy, flashy Chinese stuff. E get why.

I have bought Sienna's and given it out to drivers, I think I am more grounded to tell you how these guys act, even with your lawyer, agreement and guarantors you tell them to provide, these driver still find a way to fustrate you. Read for sake of understanding. Slovakia did a trade in. They upgraded their weapons system to the modern US-made Patriot missile batteries by giving their older Russian made s-300 to Ukraine.

What you just witnessed is a strategic move by USA not just help Ukraine create a balance in air superiority but to also help upgrade a NATO country's defence weapons just in case there is an escalation.

Two days ago I lost my phone on my way back from work. So I decided to buy/register a new sim card yesterday.

So I branched to Ajah (along Ado road) to buy and register a new sim pending when I will have time probably by weekend to retrieve my old number.

While the registration was ongoing, I noticed the agent/vendor was selling already registered sims to customers without NIN, I became curious to know how possible it is considering all the protocols involve in registering new sims. So I asked him how much he sells the already registered sims and he told me 5k and I was still wondering how possible it can be.

So to confirm whether or not it's true I paid for a sim (5k) and he started with the "processing". First of all, there is this guy that came in to complain that his number was blocked even though he has NIN and had link it with his sim. The vendor through the help of the device they run their business with confirmed that there is a variation in the name used in registering the sim and the one in the NIN so he was told to wait (till he is done doing my work).

So after I paid for the already registered sim, I was surprised that the agent now called the man and started taking his passport. I picked offense by this attitude and confronted him(the agent) for abandoning me for another customer even though I came before him. At this point, he cornered me and told me to chill and that he was still on my work but only wanted to use the guy's NIN to link the already registered sim I paid for.

I was mad. So this is the extent people can go in a bid to make money? Imagine if I actually needed that sim and maybe I use it to perpetuate some crimes(God forbid) who do you think will be held responsible for it? I decided to bring this here to at least advise/warn us to be very careful and cautious of who has access to our NIN especially during this period that most sims are barred.
