[s] CanadaOrBust: (So why not be honest and appeal on basis of 2/3 and save us this embarrassment of a judgment??!! Also, don’t be fooled, the ruling party ALWAYS controls INEC!)
I was just trying to clarify to u what u just said “amen” to - to be sent to hell not just on technicality but on RIDICULOUS technicality as in this case.
Like I’ve said, this is not just another case. This is a case that strikes at the very core of what type of country we’d end up becoming. The SC has a duty to make sure that such a momentous, unprecedented decision has solid, unassailable documentary basis?! They start doing that by thoroughly examining the documents in front of them! SC does not exist in a vacuum. This is also their country and they ought care they are setting a precedent that can gradually make the country a one-party state.
But this TANKO SC is obviously compromised. Here they are, removing a gov and replacing him with a fourth-place finishing appellant based solely on a set of uncollaborated documents supplied solely by the appellant himself. Regardless of what anyone else submits or fails to submit, they have a DUTY to EXAMINE those documents they are basing everything on to make sure they are up to par and that the figures therein make sense vis-a-vis number of registered and accredited voters! That is how it is done! And that is why you’ve never had a judgment like this before! [/s] Pointless and delusional nonsense. I quoted you and your rubbish against my best judgment. |

[s] CanadaOrBust: You wish to be sent to hell on a ridiculous technicality?? Be careful what you wish for [/s] Don't worry about my life, worry about yours. Was technicality, lies, incompetent or stupidity the reason why INEC, Ihedioha and the PDP couldn't produce evidence to counter Hope's results? Was technicality the reason why INEC rigged for Ihedioha and put him in office even though he didn't secure the necessary 2/3 votes? |

CanadaOrBust: With due respect sir, you are the one who seems deluded not him/her.
How do u explain that PDP won the rerun recently held in the same Hope’s “stronghold” where he got 99.9% of the votes with 100+% voter turnouts!
Sir, this is not finally about a Ihedioha or PDP. This is about u having a say in who governs u, and about your country becoming a one-party state.
Never in Nigerian judicial history (or any authentic democracy for that matter) has the SC ruled against ALL lower courts AND the election authority itself in order to immediately replace a sitting governor with a 4th-place finisher - all based on clearly questionable, uncollaborated, and unauthenticated documents supplied solely by the 4th-place finisher himself!!
Consider the Uzodinma documents they relied on to replace an 8-month incumbent governor with a FOURTH place finisher: not only were they full of ridiculous numbers, they were also incomplete, smudgy, full of alterations, signed only by APC, and showed results for only APC and PDP out of 70 parties!
Also consider the precedent set here which lawyers will cite ad infinitum:
A person that did not receive even a single vote can easily be declared winner and immediately replace the incumbent. All they’d have to do is present result sheets which the Supreme Court MUST accept no matter how outrageous and defective they may be, as long as no one can produce the originals! That’s what u r supporting! franchasng You have every right to spin the SC judgment and opine your opinion, it's your blessed rights, but you can not spin facts and the sound judicial decision by the SC based on issues brought before the SC to litigate between Ihedioha and Hope. 1. Regardless of any subsequent election in the same localities that was won by the PDP, it doesn't change the fact that the INEC, PDP and Ihedioha couldn't present and refused to present their own or the real results to counter Hope's election documents, this is the reason why they lost, not because of any election that the PDP won after the fact. 2. The case before the SC was about INEC illegally and unconstitutionally discounting Hope's votes, a different case and argument that had nothing to do with what was presented, litigated and decided at the SC so your argument about the lower court means nothing, it's totally irrelevant. The SC doesn't litigate or accept pre-election issues litigated by the lower courts. 3. Ihedioaha did not score the required 2/3 so his election and 8 months rule was totally illegal, there should have been a runoff, but they colluded with INEC and the tribunal to ignore the constitution and rig the election in favor Ihedioha. 4. The case before the SC was clear cut, one party brought a case about INEC taking away his votes and he presented his own credible proof to litigate his case with, it was the job of INEC, Ihedioha and the PDP to prove otherwise with their own sets of facts and election results, but they did not so why are you lashing out the SE when n fact your grievance should face INEC, the PDP and Ihedioha with your anger and frustration. You people need to do away with emotions, sentiments and illogical opinions. |

Why wasn't it revived by successive Lagos State administrations and legislative assemblies since 1999 when the current democratic rule began?
Is it too late to revive today if it is vital to improving transportation in Lagos State? Afterall it will cost money not human blood. And Lagos State is the poorest of the States. It was revived and is currently under construction. |

CSTR2: That is why Lagos is the worst among all the major cities in Africa. Nairobi, Casablanca, jourhanesburg, Capetown, Accra, Durban,
The absolute worst. Nigeria's Wealth and federal enabled monopolies is wasted on them. For example, All the oil companies that drill oil in other states pay taxes in Lagos and all those funds are wasted.
Which is why I am everly rooting for Rivers state and its sea ports.
You are lamenting over Lagos and their money, but Rivers with just 5 million people is richer than Lagos, but Lagos is still ahead of Rivers across the board. When was the last time you asked them what Wike is doing in Rivers with their money? |

Enugu govt bans Okada
Read more at: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/07/enugu-govt-bans-okada/ It is funny how the people wailing, lamenting and crying over okada ban in Lagos have nothing to say about okada ban in their own states. When they ban okada anywhere outside the SE, it is done by mean, insensitive and anti poor man leaders, but when it's done inside the SE, they are all f a sudden silent, they look the other way and forget about the poor man. Bunch of tribalistic hypocrites. |

obi58: A responsible government does not create meaningless difficulties without providing viable solutions. If a country like India with the world's 6th largest economy has survived for over a century with tricycles, it clearly demonstrates what can be possible when you have a responsible government in place! A responsible government does not plunge it's populace into unenviable pains and then leave them to come up with solutions! It's just plain wickedness! Of what relevance is your opinion? The people of Lagos state put their leaders in office to make decisions and formulate policies on their behalf, but it doesn't mean people are going to like their policies, but the law is the law and as a responsible and lawful citizen, you must obey the law. You and Okada can not make governing decisions for the people of Lagos state, obey the law. |

We can not afford to have millions of unskilled no tax paying men and women, mostly unknown from other countries running up and down our cities, towns and villages, injuring, killing and destroying lives and properties.
Wee need skilled youth population, not unskilled millions of youths riding okada all over the place, in Lagos state alone, they have over 30 skills acquisition centers, let them go and learn valuable skills to become productive members of the society.
Good riddance. |

[s] Neddstark: Me childish thing. You must be gravely retárded. People lose their jobs and you are supporting the ill move. Know same is going to happen to you and the world will neither support you. About being in a position of leadership, i run my company, and in past I have served as a manager. Handled office conflicts and got it reserved. I have handled family conflicts and got it resolved. Getting it resolved is by putting yourself in people's shoes as well as ensuring the right direction. You think Lagos government is going to keep going far hurting the citizens? Your brains must be gone to the dogs for you to think there is no karma. The US went to war in Afghanistan, till now that difficult decision is still ruining that country. So screw you and your insensitivity. Quote me again if you are a product of an incestous relationship. Neddstark: https://twitter.com/Lamba_HQ/status/1225085540149727232?s=09[/quote][/s]
Not all laws are favorable to the citizenry, but the law is the law and you must obey the law, unless you are lawless, unruly and anti social which I honestly think you are.
It's not by force to make a living in Lagos and Okada is not the only job in the world, they have over 30 skills acquisition centers in Lagos state, go and learn a skill and become a useful member of the society instead of constituting nuisance and endangering your fellow citizens.
Again, 1 saved life is worth more than 1 million okada. |
