The opposite of Christianity is not Islam. Christianity is more than a religion, comparing Islam and Christianity is not sensible.
When making contextual statements, don't generalise. 'In your opinion Christianity is more than...' how about the Bahi's opinion or the Hindu or the Muslim or the Atheists? Christianity should be a practice not 'say say' that we have here about. I don't subscribe to the idea that one religion is the best or stuff like that whereas the people making that claim have more faults than the religions they so condemn.

Pastors and women?

What is it about women that brings out the weaknesses in pastors?pastors are not medical doctors, but in Nigeria we have elevated them to a near god status. I hate blaming the victims, but sometimes these women have a blame too in whatever misfortune that befalls them.

There are medical explanations for everything.
I hardly blame the pastors. The gullible women are the ones I blame. They seek medical treatment in church. Seek spiritual healing in the hospital. Then seek financial upliftment in a guys house. What else do they expect to find?
In fact, Nigerians always have spiritual undertones for everything physical. There're no coincidences at all. It must be one old man or woman in the village that is responsible for their mistakes and ultimate misfortune. They're yet to see, funnier stories will pop out as long as women put pastors as demigods in their lives.
One pastor impregnated a woman and her two daughters in Asaba. What were they all seeking, miracles right? Well it sure did happen!!

Politics › Re: Salary Cut Not Enough, PDP Tells Buhari by Ifebazz(m): 11:04pm On Jul 14, 2015
hod898:
The Peoples Democratic Party has told President Muhamamdu Buhari and his deputy, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, that cutting their salaries will not be the only thing Nigerians are expecting from them.
Rather, the party said the President and his party, the All Progressives Congress, must strive to fulfil their electioneering promises.
Moreover, the party said that salary is a mere drop in the ocean of personal allowances and privileges that come to the president.

The main opposition party, which had been ruling Nigerian since 1999 until it was defeated during the last general elections, also said rejection of official cars by the President won’t be enough to sway the expectations of the voters from the new government.
National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh, stated this in a statement he signed in Abuja on Tuesday.
T he President and his deputy on Friday, announced 50 per cent cut in their own salaries.
The President also, on Thursday, rejected new bullet proofs cars worth over N400m.
While Metuh said that the PDP appreciated the gestures by the President, he insisted that the APC was over-dramatising the achievements of the Federal Government.
Metuh therefore warned Buhari against celebrating what he called “cosmetic governance.”
Metuh said his party believed that there was a need to bring to the President’s notice certain indices, he said, if not properly corrected, were capable of derailing the smooth running of his (Buhari’s) administration.
He said in the statement, “It is incontrovertible that instead of focusing on the promises you made to Nigerians and on policy thrusts that will move our economy forward, the ruling party has been made to be very high on propaganda, deceitful engagement and cosmetic governance.

“We believe you should extricate yourself from these agents of propaganda who continue to believe that Nigerians would be swayed by these cosmetic interventions instead of real business of government.
“As the leader of the most populous black nation in the world, we believe you should not allow your Presidency to be pushed into the gimmicks of playing to the gallery and attempting to use the dramatisation of promissory notes and pledges by foreign interests, false premature claims of victory against insurgency.
“Dramatisation of salary cut and rejection of official cars, all to gain cheap popularity and create an impression that the government is on course when in the actual fact, the new administration has not been able to locate a bearing since its inauguration in May.

“While we appreciate the symbolic gesture by Mr. President in ‘cutting’ his N14 million annual basic salary by 50 percent, it should be noted that Nigerians would not be wavered by the N7million annual donation and rejection of official cars, and forget their expectations for the implementation of his long list of campaign promises for which he was elected into office.”
Metuh added that the Presidency should know that “these orchestration,” no matter how populist it may seem, does not in any way address the burning issues of employment, alleged worsening security situation and decline in the economy.

He said the President should also be aware of the continued slide of the Naira which, he said, has dipped from under N200 to the dollar in May to an all time low of N238 under the APC administration among others.
Moreover, Metuh said that Nigerians cannot therefore be deluded by impressions aimed to make government appear to be on course when, he said, it has only been a case of what he called all motion, no movement, spiced with unnecessary excuses.
He said Nigerians are now agitated that this government has failed to hit the ground running as it promised.
For example, he said they had been complaining about the inability of the President to unveil his cabinet two weeks after his inauguration.
Besides, he said two months after, the President has not been able to decide on key appointments such as ministers, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, a Chief of Staff and advisers in key sectors of the economy.
Metuh said Nigerians are still eager for information regarding the five million new jobs, monthly N5,000 each to 25 million poor citizens, monthly allowance to discharged but unemployed Youth Corps members, free meals to school children and bringing the Naira to the same value with the dollar; among other promises upon which you and your party gained access to power.

First of all, how much did the PDP led government cut from their salaries? Metuh don't remind us too much of PDP's plummeted high standard.

The sort of books I detest most is the so-called Inspirational Books. They usually end up not inspiring you but make you a very stingy and detached and unemotional egotistic zombie who cares for nothing but himself. Their precepts differ so much from God's principles for man to 'Live and Let's Live'.
When will gullible humans realise that there are no strict rules of life? What works for Mr A 'may not' necessarily work for Mr B. Cos if it were so, Messi wouldn't be a better player than the more hardworking Ronaldo.

Wow! I must say, this is really surprising.
I have heard of numerous cases of abuse in marriage, but most of this times, it usually involves abuse on the wife.
This is the first time I am seeing someone who is in the public eye come out to openly state that he was abused by his wife

I respect freeze's courage to post this pictures, because it's not every man that would come out and tell the world that he is/was being physically by his wife.

I know some people will say that he is trying to pile up more reasons in his defense for divorcing the wife and all that. But let's all look at it this way. If it was a woman who came out and tweeted these pictures saying she is suffering abuse from her husband, everyone would have wanted the man's head hanged on a gallow for all to see.

Let me also use this medium to say this; I believe there are other people out there, both women and men who are also experiencing physical abuse from their partners, and they are scared to come out and tell anyone about it.

Please if you are such person, just understand that there are just some things that can't be fixed.
We shouldn't always try to endure everything and try to wait for things to change. Some things just can't change.

If your partner can raise his/her hand to hurt you, it means that person has no value or respect for you. It means the person doesn't love you.
Just like freeze said, your life is more important than any relationship.

Please, if you are in any relationship where your partner abuses you physically, please don't hide, come out and let someone know.
There are NGOs here in Nigeria that handle cases like this. Your life is important. Your happiness is important. You deserve to be happy. Don't let anyone take that away from you.

It is better to be single, than to be in an abusive relationship.
Yes I agree that battery in relationship is bad, yes I agree that you need to talk to someone. But what I don't agree to is 'telling the Internet'. There is no succour that would come from people making your privacy their religion. Well thankfully, he (Freeze) is in the media industry and should know it’s rumours they peddle to feed. Spreading your dirty linen in public won't solve the solution. Even teenagers will give you advice here then Basketmouth will help you turn into a joke and the media industry will help you spread it well. Probably that's what he wants for himself, how about the kids?
Again, I don't know about his pastor, but he should do more to emphasise that marriage has no emergency exit as the West is trying to sell to us via their media. Marriage, instituted by God Himself is as used to be said, "for better, for worse". though modern day churches have turned it to "for better for better". Only on the note of the later that divorce is an option, else...
What I really am against is, taking every relationship issues to the Internet and status updates like anybody cares. No marriage is rosy, non is perfect. You make the best of your mistakes and give God His glory by trying your best to make it work.
When everybody starts breaking up because of issues like this, fifty years time, live in lovers and baby mama and bastards will be your future leaders and you know what that implies.

Rapmoney:
My Warri guys dey call them 'kparo-kparo package' grin...Don't hate me for this post ladies...am only expressing ma'self grin

Now, how do you tell that a lady is one of those bunch of hungry wolves looking for who to feast on? The following are some of the traits you should look out for, guys wink

1. #The way she eats when you take her out#: When you take her out, closely watch how she eats. Hungry girls eat voraciously! She will order for different foods, even the ones her father has never bought for her since she came to this world grin She rushes the foods greedily, she would even go as far as sucking bones and licking her fingers!!! She does this because she doesn't know when such delicacies would come her way again cheesy A girl who is self-satisfied and contented eats in a dignified way. What you bought for her isn't new to her; she takes that often, so it's not a big deal to her!

2. #She easily opens her legs wide because of foods#: I often wonder how some girls would easily open their legs wide for a guy to 'moyokor' them just because he bought them Shawarma, fried rice, chicken and salad or ice-cream huh You sell your female dignity just because of food? huh Something that will leave your bowels after few hours? You must be kidding me, babe!!! You are such a hungry wolf, don't hate wink

3. #She demands for virtually everything from you#: If she is the type that demands almost everything she uses from you, just know she is a hungry girl! A contented girl, even if she requests for certain things from her Bf would still realize that there are certain things a grown woman should be able to provide for herself. You don't expect a dude to buy stuffs like tampoon, undies, recharge cards for you...provide food for you...cater for all your needs when you are not his wife!!! Common, you are grown; you are not 2 years old!!! Maybe, you should also request that he baby-sits you! Orue! grin

4. #She pesters you on phone because you promised to take her out#: When you meet a babe and exchange phone contacts, just tell her that by so so and so time, on so so and so day, you will take her out. Maybe, to a popular eatery or to do some shopping at Shoprite. When they day comes, watch out whether she would pester you on phone when it is past the time you arranged for the outing cheesy If she pesters you on phone, she is a hungry girl! Contented babes don't get worked up because of outing at an eatery. The hungry one will pester you not because she wants to see your face but because she is dying to consume hungrily those things she has vowed to order when both of you finally get to the eatery grin

5. #Keeping little change for herself or stealing little money in your residence#: I once met a babe who came to my crib and stole my 750 naira I kept under a novel! Pathetic! With all her beauty and sexiness, she stooped so low; my blood went cold for her. I quickly dropped her at the junction of her street, deleted her number and drove off! Na only 'kparo-kparo' fit behave like that wink If you pay for something at a shop and she hurriedly collects the little change from the seller and pockets it when she wasn't the one that paid for the stuff, she's a hungry babe! So annoying that the change could even be a mere 35 naira grin Orue!!!

Na me write am...
Bros na ashiawo you dey carry. Full stop.

And for those that might want to start spilling rubbish here about other people's faith, you are no better off than the Boko haram their selves cause the same spirit of intolerance and respect towards other people's believe is common, the only difference is the killings.

I came across this thread that left me alarmed and sweating because the NIV is my favourite translation and it is what i read 95% of the time:

https://www.nairaland.com/2442956/absolutely-shocking-all-christians-must

I was alarmed, especially when I cross-checked my own copy of the NIV bible and discovered it was true. But then, another Nairalander countered the above with this:

https://www.nairaland.com/2430755/disregard-all-messages-social-media#35740192

Now, with all these arguments and counter-arguments, I am wondering what to believe. I however wonder why anything should be omitted from the bible.

Let's discuss.
In original Hebrew translation, God's name is Yaweh, not Jehovah.

Most men have this belief that female lawyers won't make good wives. They say that they won't be submissive in the house and would always want to prove that they are right just like they do in court. Also some men get scared of approaching a lady who is a lawyer as they feel she would be arrogant and might embarrass them.
I know for a fact that most female lawyers often aspire to get married or at least be in a very serious relationship before they are called to the bar because after they are called, the 'market' or demand for them diminishes rapidly.
