Politics › Re: SSS Allowed Back Into Aso Rock After Heated Arguments by Ifebazz(m): 8:24am On Jun 30, 2015
Omooba77:
PERSONNEL of the Directorate of State Services (DSS) and men of the Directorate of Military Intelligence (DMI) posted to the Presidential Villa, Abuja, to protect President Muhammadu Buhari nearly exchanged blows on Monday at the Presidential Villa as the DSS personnel attempted to gain access into the offices
Personnel of the DSS who had reported for work in the morning were prevented from passing through the front entrance of the premises by the DMI men manning the point.
When DSS men insisted that they would go in to report at their duty posts, there was a heated argument which nearly led to exchange of fisticuffs.
It was learnt that the news of the encounter reached the Aide de Camp (ADC) to the president, Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Abubakar, who then came to resolve the differences between men of the two agencies and subsequently allowed in the DSS personnel.
Tribune Online, however, learnt that though Monday's incident was apparently taken care of, it may just be only temporarily as the conflict between the two agencies over the close protection of the president has not been put to rest.
Problem arose between the two agencies when Lt. Col. Abubakar, in a recent memo, barred DSS personnel from locations inside the Presidential Villa, arguing that the armed forces and the police, trained as Presidential Body Guards (PBGs), were to “provide close/immediate protection for the president henceforth."
He had warned that DSS personnel should stay away from specific areas in the premises including “Admin Reception, Service Chiefs Gate, Residence Reception, Rear Resident, Resident Gate, Office Reception, C-In-C Control Office, ACADE Gate, C-IN-C Control Gate and Panama.”
Abubakar added that the personnel of the DSS would however man other duty beats/locations located within the immediate outer perimeter of the Presidential Villa alongside other security forces.
This instruction did not go down well with the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to the president, Abdulrahman Mani, who himself is of the DSS.
Mani therefore issued a counter circular in which he directed the DSS personnel to disregard the order of the ADC, saying that the relevant statutes give DSS the responsibility of close protection for the president.
The CSO had argued: “Though further actions have been initiated in this regard, including routine redeployment of close bodyguards out of the villa, and deployment of new ones, it is important to state that the duties hitherto performed by the personnel of the DSS (SSS) in the Presidential Villa and/or any other Key Vulnerable Points (KVPs) are backed by relevant statutes and gazetted instruments of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Among others, these roles include close body protection of the president in line with standard operational procedures and international best practices.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Section 2 (1) (ii) of Instrument No. SSS 1 of 23rd May, 1999, made pursuant to Section 6 of the National Security Agencies (NSA) decree of 1986 which has been re-enacted as Section 6 of NSA Act CAP N74 LFN 2004, empowers personnel of the DSS to provide protective security for designated principal government functionaries including, but not limited to the president and vice president as well as members of their immediate families.
“It also mandates the DSS to provide protective security for sensitive installations such as the Presidential Villa and visiting foreign dignitaries. For this reason, personnel of the DSS who are on this schedule are carefully selected and properly trained both locally and abroad. Furthermore, continued background checks are maintained on them to confirm suitability and loyalty.
“In fact, the issues raised in the aforementioned circular tend to suggest that the author may have ventured into a not-too-familiar terrain. The extant practice, the world over, is that VIP protection, which is a specialised field, is usually handled by the Secret Service, under whatever nomenclature. They usually constitute the inner core security ring around every principal. The police and the military by training and mandate, are often required to provide secondary and tertiary cordons around venues and routes.
“However, all over other security agencies including the army, the police and others have their roles to play. It is on this note that heads of all security agencies currently in the Presidential Villa and their subordinates are enjoined to key into the existing command and control structure. They are to work in harmony with each other in full and strict compliance with the demands of their statutory prescribed responsibilities."

Surely you will frustrate yourself out of the marriage If you marry the wrong one out of desperation

You will almost certainly leave your man if your sole reason for marrying them borders along their financial strength. You need to love someone for whom they are not what they have

BTW: Are you working?
I can almost bet, if you are 25 or above, that your mother didn't even know your father before she got married. Most of our African parents didn't court before they got married, but tell which 'Kadashian marriage' have lasted about half as much as theirs?
The key is humility and trust and obedience and steadfastness. Infatuation is generally mistaken for love. Or bouts of great sex for love. The main recipes for long lasting marriage is the real African way. Forget about all those soap opera love you see on TV, it ends there equally. Forget also about female equality and all that bullshit, it only bring you closer to broken home and teary eyes. Respect whoever is the man that God brings your way. You don't have to love him just yet (like we know how to love sef), just play your role by being the person he would love and see the good in him only. You'd be surprised you'll fall in love faster than you can imagine.

Politics › Re: NASS N9bn Fallout: We’ll Reduce Our Salaries, Allowances – Saraki by Ifebazz(m): 10:20am On Jun 18, 2015
senier007:
Senate President Bukola Saraki has denied that federal lawmakers get N9billion wardrobe allowance.

He also said there were plans by the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) to reduce salaries and allowances of federal lawmakers.

Saraki, who stated this on his Twitter handle yesterday after meeting with the RMAFC boss, said the annual wardrobe allowance for each senator is N506,600 per annum, about N2.25 million ‎for their four-year tenure.

He also absolved lawmakers of indiscriminately allocating monies to themselves, and said that RMAFC had the sole responsibility of fixing their remuneration, adding that the Commission would soon publish details of their allowances on its website.

“RMAFC was in my office to clarify (that) wardrobe allowance is N506,600 per senator.‎ I have just been informed that RMFAC will be publishing details of allowances on their website.

“With the current challenge we are facing as a nation, RMAFC will be reviewing allowances to reflect the current economic trend. Fixing remuneration is sole responsibility of RMAFC,” the Senate president said.

LEADERSHIP recalls that there were media reports that a member of House Representatives collects N17.5 million as wardrobe allowance annually, while a senator receives about N21.5 million.

Politics › Re: A Mathematical Analysis Of The Proposed N5000 Stipends For Unemployed Youths by Ifebazz(m): 10:31am On Jun 17, 2015
Panelbeater:
A MATHEMATHICAL ANALYSIS OF THE PROPOSED #5000 STIPEND FOR THE UNEMPLOYED NIGERIAN YOUTHS WITH A SUGGESTIVE WAYFORWARD......falemara bidemi.

Peace be unto every eyes reading this insightful write-up, permit me to begin with the quotable quote;
"As we look forward into the next century, leaders will be those who empower others---Bill Gates...

Yes, we thank God the change a larger chunk of Nigerians so much crave is finally here with the emergence of Gen Buhari as President and Prof Osinbajo as Vice President respectively. Part of the agenda of this regime is the implementation of the 5000naira monthly stipend for unemployed Nigerian youths, this sounds laudable right..

Yes, it has been decleared that the government is hoping to pay 5000naira cash to 20million various bank accounts of some selected jobless Nigerian Youths, the yardstick for the selection, I don't know.
Now let's go mathematical, 5000naira * 20million proposed beneficiaries = 10billion naira monthly..
10billion naira * 12months = 120billion naira expended on this social scheme.
I can categorically opine that this proposed project is dead on arrival owing to the following assumptions:

(1). The Eventual Politicking of the Scheme..
Take it or leave it nepotism is an intrinsic nature of the black man, which might not likely change for centuries to come.
Ex President Jonathan actually meant good with his Sure-P scheme but it was later on hijacked by party faithfuls who diverted it for selfish ends and bet it, APC is not an exception. An average Nigerian Politician is gullible and selfish. Don't be suprised, you will eventually have to go begging a local party co-ordinator for a slot and don't be suprised, an influencial party chieftain will have a thousand slots linked to his pocket with different names.

(2). A Poignant Backlash from Unconsidered Applications.
Let's be truthful, there is no perfect system anywhere in the world. During the course of selecting the beneficiaries of this scheme, some merited applications would surely be omitted and trust Nigerians backed up with FOI bill, they would practically pull down the government on twitter and facebook with various caricatures and despicable articles.

(3).The OsunState Specimen..

Baba Kabiru actually embark on social welfare programes such as the O' meal, O' arugbo, O'Yes e.t.c.. It first looks good but the resultant effect is now O'Debt...You don't dish out fish rather, you teach people how to fish themselves thereby making ends meet..

4). Advent of Wastefulness and Irresponsibity among Youths.
The money is meagre I agree but it could still afford a reasonable quantity of Goldberg, Trophy and Orijin bottles (little money sooner spend eh) but before You lavish that which you work for, you will surely think twice, infact the Oloshos will receive the 5k cash from the guys that same night the alert is received.
The government should dispute this by conducting an independent survey into the sales level of bars, eatries, lesiure spots, brothels e.t.c, 3days after the payment of the stipend...

SUGGESTED WAY FORWARD..
(1). Heavy investment of the proposed money into infrastructural development.

As at 1989, the Ado Ekiti textile industry has the capacity to employ 7500 workers both directly and indirectly, so unfortunate kodurosoke converted it into shops.

The Oluwa Glass Industry at Igbokoda as at 1996 has the capacity to employ 13,000 workers directly and indirectly.
I could go on till you say stop to mention various moribund industries which, if revitalitized will mop off an appreciable chunk of youths from the labour market.
Other industries and infrastructure could as well be intiated and developed into international standard to meet export requirements..

(2). Avalability of Repayable Non-Interest Loans..

Of course, God has blessed us in Nigeria with intelligence and a distinctive drive for success..
The Government should provide a reliable scouting network to hunt for talented and hardworking youths, then make available this loans to them with punnitive measures put in place to punish defaulters.

BENEFITS OF THE AFOREMENTIONED WAYFORWARDS.

1). Rise of SMEs (small and medium scale enterprises)..

With the provision of the non-interest loans, Nigeria will witness a boon in SMEs.

2). Government will be able to boost internally generated revenue through taxes from employed individuals, SMEs and esthablished industries.

3). More business will thrive due to a corresponding increase in the purchasing power of the masses.

4). Rise of the Bourgeoisie.
There is nothing as middle class in Nigeria, it's either you are rich or you are poor, but if these measures are taken into consideration, the bourgeoisie shall rise which signifies a developed economy...

Falemara Bidemi writes from Ado-Ekiti.
All your analysis boils down to 'six and half a dozen'. It's same SURE-P agenda that is. The same politicians will hijack the good process by being godfathers that influence meagre issues. Buhari alone can't do it. We need more selfless individuals to chaperone the bosses good intentions. That's why Jonathan failed, not cos he didn't mean well, but cos he couldn't make it get to those meant for it.

Like seriously, it's high time they banned churches and mosques from residential areas. Churches especially. We've taken this holier than thou fire brand Christianity thing too far. People can no longer live in peace in their own homes anymore.
The man didn't need to be a Muslim to do what he did, I'd do it as a Christian.
You need to live besides a 'die die die, enemy die enemy die, by fire by force' church to understand what the man is going through.
One that does their worship on Saturday is two blocks away from me, it's not easy. Legislators should look into churches having public address systems placed and directed outside of their premises. It's is more devilish than the fake prophecies they disperse.
