Aringon: Because you have an internet connections doesn't mean you should come here spill nonsense for sensible people like us to read.
Did the write up say GEJ suspended Amaechi or it is PDP?
Did you care to ask why he was suspended?
Can you fight the party that brought you to power and limelight?
The party caucus called Amaechi to rescind his deicision to suspend the LG officials but he bullshit them calling them all sort of names and challenging them to do anything and that he does not care

Mind you, this is his last tenure as a governor and he cannot do more than a dead rat. APC or ACN can never and will never win Rivers State
APC WANT ASO ROCK
RIVERS SHOULD STAY WITH PDP IF THEY LIKE
How can sane, normal people reason like this? 'Obey the president'?? How? There is nothing of such in the Nigerian constitution, a Federal constitution at that - go educate yourself. It seems the current generation of Nigerians have known only suffering and falling over themselves for anyone who is a politician. The president is there at the instance of the people and MUST do what the people want but in your world, it is the other way round. More suffering to people who reason like you!
THANKS

visalo: This is what i have been waiting for. I wonder why this amaechi have not be suspended long ago. this is surely the end of the road to the sellout governor who is a betrayer to party and to his people. Let me see see how apc and Tinubu thief will save him. alot of comments here are just being useless. they don`t even understand the game of politic. i know apc members here are just trying to show him support, because he is dancing to the tune of their master, Tinubu thief and Buhari aka Bokoharam. but if we can put political and ethnic sentiment aside, you and i know that amaechi political era have come to an end. what a dirty and nasty way to end a career. over ambitious man that want to betray his people because of power
buhari boko haramhuh after he recomend gej for fighting boko haram??tinubu may have some questionable caracter, but he is better than 80% of the pdp past governors.do your maths
Amaechi has always gotten sympathy and profound support from ACN/CPC folks even here on nairaland. Nothing really changed. Amaechi has never been more popular than GEJ in Rivers State and will never be. He has just made the remaining part of his regime unnecessarily more difficult. He will be terribly distracted and frustrated. Forces will realign in Rivers State. Even some of his commissioners don't have the liver to fight this battle. He will have to reshuffle his cabinet and be more cautious of his friends, something that he never planned for this time.

You don't poke your fingers into the eyes of a sitting President who happen to belong to the same political party with you as well as your party hierarchy and expect to go unscathed. It is pure foolishness.
the mentality of oga at the top come´s to play.sorry my friend nigeria done change
PoliticsPDP Suspends Governor Amaechi by ifebosco(op): 1:35pm On May 27, 2013
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today suspended Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi after an emergency meeting of the party National Working Committee.

A statement issued by the party states that the suspension Mr. Amaechi was aimed at enforcing discipline within the party. Mr. Amaechi last week defeated a candidate propped up by President Goodluck Jonathan during an election to pick the chairman of Nigerian governors's forum.

See text of the party's statement below:

The National Working Committee at its emergency meeting on Monday, 27 May, 2013 considered the petition submitted by the PDP Rivers Executive Committee against His Excellency, Rt Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the Executive Governor of Rivers State for violating Articles 58 1 (b), (c ), (h) and (m) of the PDP Constitution following his refusal to obey the lawful directive of the Rivers State Executive Committee to rescind his decision dissolving the elected Executive Council of Obiokpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The National Working Committee after preliminary hearing, in exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 57 (3), 59 (3), 59 (5) and 29 (2.b), hereby suspends the Executive Governor of River State, Rt Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as a member of the PDP and refers the matter to the appropriate disciplinary committee of the Party.

This is in furtherance of the determination of the leadership of the Party to enforce discipline at all levels within the Party.

Signed:

Chief Olisa Metuh
National Publicity Secretary

Billyonaire: What Canada is saying is:

We want the continuation of the Manitoba Energy contract in the Power Sector
We appreciate GEJ's effort to sanitize the Electioneering structure
We want GEJ in power from 2015 so Manitoba Energy can be assured a continuation
We want more contracts in Nigeria
We will continually support your democracy instead of bullying you like USA.

You need an inquisitive mind and deep spiritual insight to separate true christian practice from the ever pervasive occultic practices which is fast spreading across the churches now.
please if you know any pastor or fetish (juju)that can perform any super natural powers let me know, im going to invest on that person so that we can go all around the world performing and making money.

manny4life: Lots of Nigerians abroad often tend to disdain those hardworking folks in Nigeria. Honestly I give more credit to Nigerians with their suffer head than the ones here. Despite all odds, they make a living in harsh working environment AND the unfriendly economic policies, social vices and menace isn't helping. I still believe Nigerians abroad can change Nigeria i.e. if we have the will power to work together.

Sagewood: The OP question should be what Nigerians in the diaspora can do to effect positive changes
in the economy, power generation and supply, education, healthcare, security, technology, etc.
The federal, state and local governments should be coordinating the modernization of Nigeria
with the experts living in abroad and in Nigeria.

The biggest barriers to development in Nigeria are: 1) Lack of visionary leaders, 2) Disorganized private sector,
3) Docile and self- centered citizens.
thank you

It's a lie. People just show a bit of generosity when on holiday. Remember most work and work, no time for fun in diaspora so letting your hair down a bit on hols is not "showing off".

The fact is if a person who had no good job goes to say Germany and returns 3 years later with an SUV, the perception is that "that poor chimezie of yeseterday is now rich".
and we all forget he has been there for tree years
