Hey dear,
I'm a woman. Pls trust me. OK?
Don't abort it. Don't let her abort it. Why? Because in 10yrs time, that baby (ur future niece or nephew) will be your pride and joy. I know a lady who got pregnant at 16, she kept the baby.

She's 33 now. She's successful. Her daughter is her joy. She also has a son now. And is happily married to the father of her son.
What am I trying to say ? Your sister made a mistake. Don't make more mistakes by taking a wrong decision.

Skipuru:
A guy of 27 years old impregnated my 16 years old sister mean while she's about to write her waec next year.
I called the guy on phone and he said he's ready to take responsibility of the girl and she will marry her , but me I don't like it that way because she's too small to bear a child and I don't want that to happen to my sister because she's the only girl in my family.
Now the question is I want her to abort the child and focus on her education but the guy said he ready and my mom called me and said that my sister said if anything should happen to her that it's on our head.
Please I want you to post it so I can hear people's opinions on this so I can know the right thing to do because I'm I'm going crazy.

Please I need a good advice on how to follow this matter. My mom want her to suffer so she can learn her lesson but me she will bring shame to me and my family. I'm just a boy of 22 years old still on the street.

Now, for those Nigerians calling the song crap, lemme address something. Music is spiritual. It has to connect with you at some level. If it doesn't, then your taste in music is probably different and obviously that particular sound isn't your spec.

In one line - The international community that y'all look up to approved the song as a hit (not that we need their accreditation). But they did. And a large number of music critics and heads of the game cannot be wrong.

I'm not a fan of the naija commercial sound, but I know a good song when I hear one. Whether I like it or not. And Ojuelegba is one.

Listen to World music... Some from other African countries.... Most of the time you don't get it. But then, you start to feel the connect in your soul.
That can only happen when you listen to these different sounds with an open mind.

Music is like food. That I don't like Goulash don't make it less of a good meal. Or cheese. Or Caviar.

I live in Nigeria doc.

My observation was during one of my vacations abroad.

They are two different countries, with different standards of living. Nig and the US. Both have their pros and cons.

OP is saying earning $2000/month in the US is nothing. Which is true. That's the point he's trying to make. Cos people are quick to convert to naira and brag that they are making it big.

Pros of living in the US- The amenities. Social Security. Credit Facility etc.

Pros of living in Naija - Affordable Housing and food stuff. No matter how much u earn, with the right budgeting, and 'hold bodi ' ,you can survive. Anybody can become a millionaire tomorrow with hard work and smart work... Etc

The Cons? We all know the cons of living in Nigeria and outside Nigeria.

It's not a matter of debating, it's just mere fact.

The grass is greener where you water it.

Kennydoc:
I don't know how much you earn per month, but just compare yourself to 'lucky' graduates in Nigeria who earn ₦100k per month. Can you survive on such a salary if you live and work in Ikoyi? Yet Ikoyi can't compare to most American cities in terms of infrastructure and social amenities.

I am NOT an advocate for divorce. But pls, do not speak for people you do not know.
Yes, separate from a violent partner.... But how will you say they'll "definitely come to their senses and miss" the abused spouse?
A violent person that you the OP does not know?
How can you write with certainty that such person will repent?
Please before posting anything, construct your tenses appropriately.

Domestic violence is a matter of life and death. Not a trivial thing to be taken lightly. Pls.

newsynews:
.

Well, there are instances that may appear gravey and which are one of the reasons why Christians of today wrongly divorce and even go ahead to remarry. One of such is domestic violence.

Daddy Freeze, in his argument with Timi Dakolo, gave an instance of a man who woke to see his wife in the middle of trying to cut off his manhood. He wondered why anyone would advice such a man to remain in the life-threatening relationship. We also see cases of men beating their wives to stupor like she's a criminal. Do such instances require a Christian marriage to be divorced? No.

Mathew 19:9
I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”

What can be done in such instance where you feel your life is threatened is to file for separation, not divorce. Separate from the partner for a while which might include you leaving the house. After a while, the partner will come to his or her right senses. If it's a man, he will definitely miss your loving care, how you wash his clothes, cook his meal, clean the house and the warmth of your body. If it's a woman, she will miss you cos women always want a manly authority over them. She will realize that you are the only person who can tolerate her shortcomings.

The funniest and most expensive joke I have heard from Nigerians doing menial jobs in the US. and earning between $1,500- $2,000, is claiming that they are richer than bank managers in Nigeria. I guess they make their money in America while spending it in Nigeria. This stupid joke need to stop. A Nigerian doing menial job in the US. at best can be compare to someone receiving 80,000 Monthly in Nigeria in purchasing power. A Nigerian doing odd jobs for 10 yrs will still be paying rent while a 10 yrs bank manager would have long built two to three houses with a lucrative investment. Nigerians in America need to stop converting currencies because it is clearly stated that if you earn $12,000 annually in America you are living in poverty

Lol @ epistle. It's fine.

I have teenage sisters, and I don't worry about them. You know why? Cos of the values we grew up with.
I'm a part of the showbiz industry ,and my parents don't worry about me. You know why? Cos they know the girl child they birthed.

It's never about society. It used to be, but not anymore. Who wan spoil, go spoil. There's been a rise also on Yahoo plus and boys drinking to death, making illegal money and joining kidnap rings....

But like I said, there's also been a rise of young people bettering themselves and breaking boundaries. That the media don't celebrate them don't mean they don't exist.

I'm speaking from experience. The girl child that is taught values will never lose those values, except she wan spoil. smiley

Yonce:
Fewer women are achieving these days. . . . Women have perfected the act of earning money in exchange for their bedroom talents.
That's why promiscuity is on the rise, that's why Baby Mamas have sudden relevance. The girl child who spent years in the university, amassed knowledge in the postgraduate level and is trying to better herself will not hit nairaland FP. Davido's Baby mama posts a racy pic and bam! She's the latest hot topic. . . . 2face wife slays in a new dress and bloggers take to their keyboards and write on it. She trends.

The teenage girl with access to the internet notices this trend and before you know it, education and goals takes the back seat. . . All she thinks about is slaying for the gram, finding a rich guy to cling to which is basically the fastest way to a better life.

Trust me ma'am, society has messed with the girl child. The writer is reluctant to have a daughter not because girls are bad but because training them to be different from the average female in this 21st century takes a lot of work, you have to constantly worry if she's hanging out with the right crowd, her social media accounts, and all the dìcks flying her way.
At least with a male, all you have to worry about is one dìck. grin

Sorry for the epistle. embarassed

My dear, nobody has been programmed anything.

That was the 70s and 80s. Now women are achieving... And our standards have risen. We have more female achievers and role models and entrepreneurs now than back in the day when everybody thought the woman's office was the kitchen.

If and when anyone is going to defend a gender based topic, kindly defend with facts and statistics.
In this generation, any girl that chooses to take a back seat, is cos she wants to. Not society programming her. Not parents programming her, nor the FG.

In the era of female professionals, who no wan work to become something, na personal choice.
Thank u.

Yonce:
I don't think the topic is misogynistic. The writer mainly expresses concern on how the girl child has been programmed to take the back seat mentally and ONLY use her "talents" to get what she wants.

Thank God I'm not average.
But in defense of the average female, the average Nigerian lady of this generation is a go-getter (not in the sugar daddy term, but in the entrepreneurship term). They quit their jobs to set up something for themselves. I can only speak for the ones I know, while u speak for yours.

The average ladies around me aspire to inspire. Creating and building something for themselves, working twice as hard. And achieving.

THE BELOW AVERAGE ladies, those Barbies are the ones u just described.

The ABOVE AVERAGE ones are intelligent people like me, who push, fall, work ten times as hard and smart as any man to be top in the game. And when we win, we share the proceeds with the less privileged.

So my dear, speak for yourself o. For every hoe girl out there, is also a useless boy/man out there complimenting the hoeness.

Never call the average lady a hoe. That's a term for those at the lower rung.

Lawlahdey:
Deep. You know what i think about this? The truth is the average female don't have the strength or ability required for day-to-day jobs. The average female is work-lazy. She wants things to come to her on a platter of gold and in a country like Nigeria, that's quite impossible. So, she resorts to selling her body because that's the only way to have it easy.

Does she have a right to write what she did? ABSOLUTELY. She's free to. Whether wrong or right, she is. That doesn't make her "stupid".

And before you start preaching and judging why she isn't using her talent to fight for NIGERIA, (which I think she has in her little way), ask yourself this question, HAVE YOU FOUGHT FOR NIGERIA in your own little way?
