Let me call you all attention to BOLT new strategy.
Probably their statistics showed to them that their is increase in cash payment hence their new strategy.
I noticed when you have a high negative balance and you pay into their Citibank they will intentionally refuse to reflect the balance until you are cash trip restricted, so then you will only take card trips till you get to 3k before your payment will be reflected. My payment to their account is 3days and counting and it's yet to reflect . |

Felicity001: Its becoming very clear that Bolt charges riders for cancelling yet they dont compensate drivers for effort put in place to drive down. For some times now I've had riders who have refused to cancel because Bolt will charge them if they cancel from their end. How true this is what I'm baffled about.
If this is true then we drivers need to hold Uche and and his crew accountable, because all i can see here is they feeding on the efforts of thousands of drivers. Bolt have the paid waiting features, you will only get it if your proceed on the trip, but if it was canceled by either party before starting the trip, the paid waiting won't amount to anything, and nothing goes to bolt as well. |

Can two different drivers use the same car to register on the bolt platform ?
Assuming I have a car, and one driver uses it for like 3 days, and I give it to another for and another 3days? The first driver need to delete/unselect the car, if not it will be difficult for the new driver to add the vehicle for his own use. But why u dey switch drivers every 3days? |

Chuwaa2: Those guys at first gate Ogba are so good at radiator works. My radiator was leaking and I was advised against working on it here on nairaland. Some suggested I should buy the double cell. It got so bad that I add water daily and you can see see the leak in the floor. So I finally went to Ogba and with 5k, they worked on it and no more leaking since 2019. As of that time, a new radiator was 22k. I decided to go that route after watching a foreign mechanic YouTube page showing how to remove and repair leaking radiators. 22-5= 17k saved. I was told to budget 18k my brother....I ended spending 4.5k |

yungmin: Hello house,
Please, do you have to pay any money to register if you need to drive bolt? That is, if you want to drive someone's car, do you have to pay some sort of registration money to do that?
Someone is asking me to lend 50k that he needs to pay before given a car to drive.
Your response would be highly appreciated. 1. Probably the owner of the car is asking for a caution fee (which probably might be refundable) 2. Ask the person if he is collecting the car under rental or hire-purchase (in most cases hp will require the driver to pay some amount and its always more than 50k...cos he is driving to own the car) 3. If the car owner or the person borrowing the money insist it's for registration....and not like caution fee or HP..... It's either your friend/brother is trying to swindle you or the person asking your friend/brother to bring 50k for registration is trying to swindle him. Peace |

Felicity001: Somebody that creates revenue and profit for your company is what?
If they're not employees who then are employees? Those girls sitting at the office? Or the security men? Does sitting at the office brings money into bank account?
Why do they take commission? For the app? Rubbish! Why dont they have single car?
They should stop collecting commissions if they don't want to regard drivers who own their cars as employee.
Or does the fares drivers get from rides substacial to buy then a good car, maintain their car, do fueling and take care of other needs? No! Bro try and create you own app..make it free for all. |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by IFSHR: 10:41pm On Feb 19, 2021 |
deedee44: Yes you're right! If saving with the bank is your source of income then you're an employee to them. You mentioned Ts and Cs in contractual relationship, how many partnership Ts and Cs do you see where it's only one party that has all the inputs and the other party has no say whether it favours them or it's against them?
Yes you can delete bolt today just the way you can decide to resign from that work that doesn't pay you well, that doesn't mean you were not their employee I think your understanding of the operational term "Employee and Employer " need to be brushed up. An employee is a person employed for wages or salary. Bolt or Uber don't pay you wages nor salary rather you Pay them commission. If the terms and condition of operation is exclusive to Uber or bolt it's a generic practice....just like Facebook , Instagram and other social service apps have theirs. They block rider and as well as Drivers. Going by your perspective, if Dru gives felicity a car on rental to drive using the bolt and Uber platform, who is Felicity employer? Need I even tell you that the relationship between a renter and a rentee is not that of an employment relationship, it's just a business relationship as long as the renter pays an agreed commission. Pin this statement. That news shared by madam rad about Uber drivers now regarded as employee in the USA, watch how Uber will draft an employee handbook which will offer them more control over the drivers. Peace |

deedee44: As long as uber/bolt has the power to sack (block) you because of rating then you are an employee to them because they dictate how you should do your work. If you're self employed then all terms and conditions should be yours to make I guess when bank block your account, you as well an employee of the bank. Terms and conditions applies in every contractual relationship, any of the party violates it you enact the punishment...you can delete bolt today and hell won't broke loose. |

Slickleo: https://nairametrics.com/2021/02/19/uks-supreme-court-rules-that-uber-drivers-are-workers-not-self-employed/
Can our supreme Court do such radautoworks: I WAS JUST COMING TO POST THIS!!
https://www.bbc.com/news/business-56123668 As an HR person, I probably don't have much information about their operations abroad. But then using the Nigeria operation as a case study, I would say drivers can't be regarded as a employee to the Ehailing company.. The Ehailing company has very limited control over the operations of the drivers. As a matter of fact in their organigram rider will have a higher placing than drivers. They are more of a service provider, we the drivers are the real transport scheme. Let's imagine it this way that when bolt or Uber entered Nigeria they went to the yellow taxi asso to pitch their idea of creating a system whereby they can easily link prospective riders to them and they all embrace it, are we going to call the taxi people their employee. As long as what bolt and Uber provide is the App to connect both riders and drivers....the drivers still remain an independent body. |

samobaba4u: Very informative but Abeg make una dey take am easy o, make someone work for complete 5 months no rest? Work life is longer than human life o. Always take a break every week. Paying yourself 3k per day is very easy you know.....you go rest for one or two days and still pay yourself from the surplus from the working days...I wouldn't advocate one work all through the clock |

kanuisagoat: He has a point Felicity. Yes, ehailing will put food on the table, you will be able to cater for you immediate needs and provide for you family but there are people who want more than this from life.
People who drive the E350s, AMGs and the Lx470s don't have two heads. Yes, some might be making the money illegitimately but many others are also making legit money. You say you have paid your 3 bedroom flat in Abule Egba but many others have also bought duplexes in Lekki.
In this same country, there are people who have collected upfront of 4m naira from their employers this January alone. That is the kind of money some people want to to have and the life they aspire to live and you'll agree with me ehailing is never going to give you that.
Let me give you this homework. Look at the screenshot someone posted. He drove 197mins to gross 5200. How many minutes will he drive to buy a 2010-2012 E350 that sells at 5m naira Ehailing as a hustle is a cash cow... Best for those with their own cars....pay urself 3k per day and at the end of the year, you will be having a million plus... Get a land in a very low cost area....250k....Travel north and buy baby cow, groom and sell when robust. You can be earning 1m monthly and still be a poor man on the long run, financial education is key.. Ehailing is a good hustle, ensure you pay yourself daily. Diversify your savings into sustainable business. Little business you can build from savings from ehailing 1. Car wash 2. Chains of POS outlet. 3. Logistics. (Start small) 4. Agricultural produce (start small) 5. Buy okada for HP delivery So many more With 500k you can start any of the above.... Pay yourself 3k per day and that is 90k per month...in 5 month.....you have 450k to invest. Start small and grow it

Come of it please!
I've been down that lane before Uber and Bolt blocked my account but that didn't retard me nor my wife... This is me still bouncing and kicking.
