Mr Ifwal is that really true all students would be needed in Germany latest Dec, I applied for computer science masters at Bergakemie frieberg university and enrollment deadline is 12 oct 2020 for winter. So do u mean there would be an automatic extension because I believe the embassy would start this August, because intl flight has been planned to resume this August. I only spoke for my school. Don't generalise my comment |

Kizzygentle: Should I tell you guys one sweet truth. This pandemic will favour all students given admission for winter semester because there would be no barriers for giving out AD to both catA and B provided you have your extension letter. There is automatic extension of enrolment till march which is enough time to give all students AD. If your school dosent provide this document you can write to them. You all can as well do the logic. I see this as a win win and God go help us all. You said automatic enrolment till March? Pls, that's not general. You can only speak for your school. My school's enrolment deadline is still October. Tho, they promised to allow online enrolment and provide online classes (blended learning).. But yet, Doing the test online is still a challenge, so they wish all students get to Deutschland latest December. They've also provided the presence letter. |

evergreen9: Maybe we need to get the attention of the Nigerian envoy to Germany. That might be the next viable option A friend of mine in Ghana went to the embassy today to certify his documents for enrolment, there he met five friends who got AM for student visa... . But what exactly is the difference between Ghana and Nigeria? If by now, they're still pending AD, how sure are we that Cat B will get dates? In fact, do you even think enrolment will be possible this winter? This is another Monday oo.. Chai I just pray Naija open international flight around July ending.. |

ogagaejay: My naija people. I know you all are patiently waiting for appointment. While you are waiting, take a closer look at German laws for students coming to Germany with a scholarship. Please be aware so you dont start making noise on social media when this happens to you. In the attached file is a law which prevents extension of resident permit for work purpose if you studied in Germany on a scholarship, and the condition of the scholarship is that you must return to your home country after your study I think it's not all scholarships! Only for those scholarships that require you to return to your home country. Some scholarships in Germany does not have such criteria. |

Yes it is stories. I hope whether it's the new or old passport we have this process favour us. I just called an immigration officer now. He told me that non E-passports has been stopped since 2007. That all passports issued since then has been e-passports. He said the new ones for 10 years are called Harmonised passports. 7 Likes 1 Share |

It is the new Standardized Electronic Passport issued by Nigerian Immigration launched in 2007. But the normal passport and E-passport continued to be issued simultaneously until 2019 when General Muhammadu Buhari fully launched the 10-years and 5-years E-passports. Most Nigerians possess the normal passport and not the E-passports.
The newly launched E-passport is now being required by German embassy from applicants going to Germany this Winter (August to October).
The first picture shows the E-passports while second picture shows the normal passport.
This is confusing Pls.. Are you saying the previous passports are not E-Passports? |

In other words we need to have at least 8k £ plus in a account overseas to be considered. Hmm not bad since you don't have to pay any tuition fee although that amount is not cheap either. But the procedures seems a bit complex even after you've gotten the 8k£ ready It's no more 8k, now 10,236k. |

If I looked for schools that offer German in Germany and got admitted, please what are the chances of getting a visa. I'm thinking of studying the language for like 6months in Germany and then apply for the nursing before my visa will expire . I think the common route is to go for German language course in Germany, and towards the end apply for 'ausbildung' for nursing... Most nurses in Germany are trained through nursing ausbildung |

Sharonte: The following steps will help newbies (Thanks to CassieV for the tips)
Most of the schools in Germany are tuition free even for international students, you only get to pay a certain amount as semester fees say between 100-400 euros and most times the semester fee comes with a semester ticket to aid in transportation in your city or town. However, before you're granted a student visa, you have to prove that you can take care of your living expenses with one of the following means ; 1. Block account: The estimated living expenses for a student in a month is 720euros, when you multiply that by 12 months, you get 8640euros. This is the amount you're required to block in an already opened account with either Deutsch bank, Fintiba or Xpatrio. It is called a block account because you will not be able to withdraw everything at once, only 720euros will be released to you every month. 2. Sponsorship letter: If you have a relative living and working legally in Germany, they can get you this letter. They'll have to visit the alien office in their city and will be required to provide some documents and pay a certain fee. The letter will be sent to you when they receive it so that you can go with it for your visa interview. 3. Scholarship: This is usually the best if you have the scholarship, your visa will be granted in under 2 weeks after interview. So try and look for scholarships you can apply to.
Now that you understand the financial situation, let's go into the application process. To search for schools, click on this link https://www.daad.de/deutschland/studienangebote/international-programmes/en/?p=l&q=&fos=0&lang[]=2&fee[]=0&sortBy=1&page=1&display=list filter your search to make it easier, there are English taught courses there. Generally, the very important documents needed to apply to schools in Germany are; 1. Transcript 2. English Proficiency 3. School Certificates (Degree, Waec, etc) However, depending on the school, some other documents needed are as follows. 4. Curriculum Vitae 5. Motivation letter 6. Reference letters 7. GRE test 8. Etcetera.. Visit your prospective school website and find out the documents they need from you. Note: You don't apply with your original documents, you have to make photocopies of them and Certify them in High court or a Notary public. If you stay in Lagos, you can certify at the German Embassy too. You'll have to book appointment for that. For those planning to go for a Bachelors course, you need a 100level transcript from a university to apply for a BSc program in germany. WAEC alone will not be enough and No, OND will not do, you need a HND.
For the application proper, it is always important to go through the website of the schools you want to apply to, you'll get a lot of information form there concerning how to apply. Some schools do only online applications, some requires that you send your application documents to them by post after applying online, some you send your documents as pdf to their email address and then you get the uni assist crew. Like I said earlier, it is important to go visit and read the websites.
When you get your admission letter, open a block account immediately(that is if you don't already have a sponsorship letter) and as soon as you get your account details, send an email to the embassy requesting for a visa interview date. You need these to get an interview date: 1. Admission letter 2. Block account/sponsorship letter/scholarship letter 3. International passport data page(scanned) Then your Full name and Resident address.
Prepare for your interview Go for your interview
reference: copied from justwise
for newbies among us Good. But a lot of things has changed. A review would have been better. The few changes include the amount for blocked account.. It's now 853 Euros per month. Also, the procedure for getting the appointment for interview has changed. You only apply through a link on the Lagos consulate website. Also, you don't need to block your money before getting interview date. 4 Likes |
