Culture › Re: Which Is More Offensive: Books Burning Or Flag Burning?? by ifyalways(f): 11:48am On Nov 05, 2012
I'll say book.
People that burn books are intolerant, IMO. You burn a book because there are ideas or views written in it that you don't agree with hence you want to suppress it, kill it.

Dear nairalanders, courtsey of Naijababe, tehn was able to take Ayomide to see a pediatric doctor at abeokuta.

He examined her and prescribed the following drugs for her :
Pink camosumate
Syrup Paracetamol
Syrup cefuroxime
Syrup zolat
Syrup Riconia
Wat on blood tonic
There is an epidemic of measles @ Ayomides village so we are also getting her drugs for that. The doctor recommended a couple of tests and an x-ray too.

With the doctors help and network, we are believing God that soon, we will get a "home for special children" that would take her in as the grandmother, though she's trying her best, can't take adequate care of her.

We will be sending the drugs ASAP and working on moving her to a better home.
Our very special thanks to Naijababe.
Dr Ayilara of "egba medical centre, Isabo" and Dr fadeyi of "sacred heart hospital, lantoro" abeokuta.

Regards,
Tehn.

Long lool @ lock up your food. That's pure waste of time with grave consequences. The OP's kids would pay for it.

@OP, what's really your situation? You have an adult(over 20), female, living with you, earning above 15K right?also you said you've equipped her . . . , how?

When you entrust your family(obviously you have little or no time) welfare, kids to anyone other than family, you have to force yourself to accept/ignore certain things.if its just small tid bits, so long as your kids are well taken care of, shrug it off.

If however the quantity is affecting your pocket, call her and subtly tell her that "you know she's been taking foodstuff from your house but right now, things are tight for you and you demand she stops"#2

Make her understand you, talk to her like you would to your sister.

Use gra gra would backfire on your kids.
Whatever you do, plan towards getting a work-and-go nanny. That's simply the best. . . For Naija.

After going through the thread, I think that black women are natural feminists,we don't need an official movement to assert that.I don't share an affinity with feminism because i believe it's devoid of what I think is the greatest strenght of black women : our ability to nurture ,raise and build strong families.

Feminism works to reaffirm hierachy when it's supposed to be creating change.i can live with womanists, activisits but Feminists undecided especially the radical ones.

You are right.
Abagworo: However in Imo State we do use "Orisa" in place of "Olisa" . That's. Why you have such surnames as Orisa, Nworisa, Orisakwe etc.

This link is from an incident in the heart of Isuland(Isuama) which is the corest Igbo part of Imo State with zero influence from any non-Igbo culture.

The leadership of New Nwangele Youth Initiative (NNYI) has described as bundle of lies, the utterances of the chairman of Peoples Democratic Party PDP Nwangele Chapter Hon. Justin Amadi against Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo in some newspapers recently.
The National President of the group Comrade Onyemauche Nwaorisa stated this during a press briefing in Owerri on Monday.
Comrade Nworisa who described the sudden outburst of Hon. Amadi against OZB as a byproduct of greed and selfishness, maintained that it is unfortunate that Hon. Amadi decided to distract Hon. Ozurigbo over nothing, pointing out that after elections what matters is good governance not the political platform.

Family › Re: Help: Any Child Abuse Oranisation In The House.. It Is Urgent by ifyalways(f): 1:54pm On Nov 03, 2012
You can't take the laws into your hands @ OP. Fortunately, lagos state is one of the states that signed a law against under aged female marriage, under 18 specifically.

Depending on your location, you can go to "the ministry of youth, sports and social welfare @ sabo, yaba or the social welfare office @ Alausa, ikeja". Mrs laide latinwo is the head @ Alausa and she's dedicated to her duties.

Office of the public defender @ alausa is another place to go. The girl can even go alone, that would prompt them to swing into action immediately.
