There should be social service offices @ either Umuahia or Aba.To the best of my knowledge, you do NOT need the services of a lawyer for adoption in Nigeria. We never reach that levels.

Success failure ration of online dating nowadays,IMO is like 2:50.

It would be better if she goesout to meet new people. Is she in Lagos?she can join the lagos hash club,go to the beaches, cinemas often.Singles seminar. She should quit hanging out with married folks,be more open and less uptight.Never forget the power of a smile and humility. She should write out "realistic" qualities she wants in a man and once she gets a man that ticks positive to most,go for it.No one gets it all, already made.

Lastly,we all are NOT destined to marry.
Family › Re: What Are The Procedures And Processes For Adopting A Child by ifyalways(f): 10:28am On Apr 15, 2012
^"gotten" the child from where exactly? No make amadioha vex and make your child available someday to be "gotten" for adoption someday.

OP, just in case you are lazy to search for those threads, here are quick tips:
Your friend should look for "registered" orphanages in the state where he wants to adopt. Keyword is registered, not just any orphanage.

He can visit, see the kids and might be lucky to bond with 1.

Find out from the home if the child is up for adoption and if yes.

Head to the state social service or welfare office. Tell them his mission ie adoption, the home he visited and outcome.

The social service takes it up from there. Your friend would be screened, asked a lot of questions, very private ones(he better answer honestly too). This step takes sometime. They want to know why s/he wants to adopt, his financial status etc.

If he passes all their tests and meets the criteria, they would give him or her a list of all the available kids up for adoption depending on his preference(sex and age) in all the registered orphanages within the state and ask him to try see all kids.

S/he goes around, decides on a child and the paper works starts. Note that some orphanges might demand money at this stage, money for all the expensis they've incurred whilst taking care of the child, a few won't too.

Paperwork completed, legal papers signed, processing fees paid, et voila, someone is a proud mom or dad.

Anything short of this, you are just aiding child kidnapping!
Beware of people that would claim they have links and can help you. . . It might be your lil' niece or nephew they intend stealing. Beware of child miracle churches and mushroom, unregistered orphange homes.

Goodluck!

Let's pretend that the white/ Arab man didn't come with their religions, were there really a point in history when we did appreciate our articrafts? Has it not always been linked with one god or the other, something to be revrenced?

My few visits to Nike art center and terra culture lagos have made me to sort of believe that our arts, heritage would continue to find its way to the western world where its appreciated cos our people, you and I don't give a damn. Black US evil. . . Self hate. Much.

Culture › Re: Sun And Spirituality: Is There A Connection? by ifyalways(f): 7:48am On Apr 15, 2012
Quoted for future reference.
. . . in the reproduction of a child, the father is a marker, the mother is the child's nature and spirituality. In cosmolosophy, the sun is the father, a marker, and the earth is the mother, the nature.

Sun provides light, the marker, . . . earth provides love (rhythym), the nature!

Human enlightenment and knowledge of the solar system and its relationship with human nature was first formulated and taught by Africans. Other races learnt this knowledge from Africans. Art and Science in the African consciousness is one and the same and were regarded as a pair of essences expressing the nature of man and the environs in its polarized balance. Hence the teachings of physical and metaphysical sciences or physical and esoteric arts. . . .generally termed alchemy in ancient manuscripts. In the evolution of science and particularly under the stewardship of Western philosophers, the two - arts and sciences - were separated into distinct schools of thought and scholarship. By the time Western kingdoms started their Imperial wars round the globe, they had greatly maneuvered away from the arts and though it existed as a knowledge and principles, it was hardly the mainstream practice.

It is only of recent as their own scientifically leaning societies is beginning to fail that they are returning to alchemy as a means of sustenance and explanations for human nature. However, as they discover the truth in alchemy they also realize past errors and the risk of admitting those errors. To formulate a balance and reconcile the two with minimal shifts to their social culture, they are using scientific terms and standards to express and demonstrate metaphysical and esoteric knowledge. They are attempting to return to alchemy without doing damage to Western philosophical thoughts and loosing out to current stewards of the knowledge - China, Brazil and India. So they use words like the ""effect of sun and melanin content to human spirituality"", instead of saying. . . ""the dark race is a spiritual nature and sustainer of mankind and we made an error 100yrs ago when we made contact and called them heathens"". They use terms like "Quantum Physics instead of admitting that the babalawo's divination board is a mirror into the cosmos"".

I agree the sun is a powerful influence, there is no dispute to that. However, it is not the source of life! It is scientific dogma to say the earth will freeze over without the sun. This idea supports the cause for the global warming advocates who insist that without their intervention humankind will be annihilated by the elements. That is playing god!

God is the one who designed it all. . .he made certain things grow out of the earth in Africa which is beneficial to the bodies and health of those whose nature is in harmony with the African soil. When someone out of an European continent comes and start to eat the African crop he gets sick. This is because his nature is not in harmony with the rythym of that soil. Even in tundra climates where the surface soil is frigid, there are plants that grow out of the earth and animals graze. In extreme of weather and climatic conditions, the earth will support and sustain those with whom it shares nature. In winter weather and sub-zero temperatures animals burrow into the soil and caves, why? Because it is warm and comfortable in the earth. It is only cold on earth's surface due to the sweeping effect of cold and temperate winds, the sub-terranean itself is ever comfortable and warm, with or without the sun.
^madam, long time no anya na amu?Uju amugo!nwanyi.

@OP, your thread title is quite different from the body. Anyways, I won't blame the woman so much for her act ie not informing everyone about the pregnancy. One thing I've come to accept about life is this; when it comes to people taking their own destinies in their hands, ask no questions, don't probe for reasons or they wear the shoe and know where it "sweets or hurts" more.

If I'm in her shoes, desperate to have a child and all that, I might do worse. You never can tell till it hits you.
