I know about world politics but I specialize in Africa especially Nigeria. I know about African history, politics, and economics. I am Nigerian and I talk to Ethiopians about Ethiopian history and they are surprised. I am quite the opposite. I want to live in an African country and do business with other African countries. We also buy and spend in foreign countries instead of our own. We have an inferiority complex and it is hurting our economy. Good that Ouattara is the Cote d’Ivoire President but what about the Colonial Pact?

Alassane Ouattara has been sworn in today as Ivory Coast’s president by the man who earlier denied him of victory in November’s presidential election.
The post election conflict that characterized the world producer of Cocoa country Cote d’Ivoire ended up the former president arrested and Ouattara taking the office. Gbagbo’s refusal to cede power was based on the claims to have won the election and the French problem.
Gbagbo and his like-minded group of intellectuals have yearned to break the free from tight French stranglehold their countries. But, there is danger attached.
If France could allow Cote d’Ivoire out of its grip, the other 13 CFA member states would go the same way, and France would be a king without clothes. In fact, it would not seriously only affect French prestige internationally, but, also the economy.
France without Franco phone Africa, it would be like a pot of soup without salt. So France cannot accept that happen.
In the past, before Gbagbo’s time in government, any Franco phone African President who would who would try the thought of breaking Free from French grip or even advocating for an amendment of the CFA arrangements, was given a nice send-off via a coup d’état.
Thus fear immobilized the Franco phone leaders, preventing them from doing anything from Colonial Pact.
The French knew Gbagbo and his group very well, long before he became the President. They knew his agenda, that he wanted to throw them out of Cote d’Ivoire.
Of course, France wouldn’t leave Gbagbo alone, to triumph them in the long time. Some experts even suggest that, the coup of 2002 that nearly overthrew Gbagbo had the marks of French hands over it.
Gbagbo side had forever accused France over the rebellions of north and even in other countries marking up CFA.
What’s is the content of Colonial Pact binding all most all Francophone Countries;
-It is the Colonial Pact that set-up the common currency of Franco phone countries, the CFA franc, which demands that each of every 14CFA member states must deposit 65%(plus another 20% for financial liabilities making the total of 85%) of their foreign exchange reserves in an ”operations account” at the French treasury in Paris.
The African nations therefore, have access to 15% of their own money for the development activities every year. If they are in need of their money as they are, they borrow from their own 65% in the French treasury at commercial rates.
Wait, that’s not all: there is a cap on the credit, extend to each member country equivalent to 20% of the public revenue in the preceding year. So if the country wants to borrow more than 20%, too bad, they can’t get it. Surprisingly, the final on CFA arrangements belongs to French treasury, which invests the African countries’ money in its own name on the Paris Bourse (The stock exchange).
-It’s also the Colonial that demands that France has the first right buy or reject any natural resource found in the land of the Franc phone countries. So even if, the African states could not get the best princes elsewhere, they cannot sell to anybody, until France says it doesn’t want those natural resources.
-It is, again, this Colonial Pact, that demands that in the award of government contracts in the African states, French companies should be considered first; only after that Africans can look anywhere. French contracts come first, and most often get them.
Overall, the pact gives France a dominant and privileged position in a Franco phone Africa, but in Cote d’Ivoire, the jewel of former French possession in Africa, the French are overly dominant. Outside parliament, almost all major utilities are in Cote d’Ivoire-water, electricity, Telephone, Transport, ports and major Banks-are run by French companies or French interests.
The same story is found in commerce, construction, agriculture (particularly with record to cocoa plantation and agro-industry)-French companies and interests dominate the scene.
In short, the Colonial Pact has created the legal mechanism under which France obtains special place in political and economical life of its former colonies.
Under the Defence Agreements attached to the colonial pact( which were run by French Defence ministry), France has the legal right to intervene militarily in African countries and also station troops permanently in the bases and military facilities in those countries, run entirely by the French.
Will Alassane Ouattara, accept to serve France or the Ivoirians? Does the Cote d’Ivoire situation reflect what is going on in the whole continent?

Well, he's set to be overthrown in December during the ANC elective conference, the same as what happened to Mbeki five years ago. He is increasingly losing favour with his party people. So what conspiracy do you have now?

It is funnny how the internet is at our disposal and you are both still deluded at this topic of international politics. It is not a conspiracy theory, it is a FACT that America overthrows governments. Look at these presidents and look at their policies and look what happened to them. Allende, Mosedegh, Patrice Lumumba, Sankara, Gaddaffi. They all wanted their people to benefit from their resources and didn't want to be exploited by anybody and what happened to them? They all died. Then leaders who let people exploit them are dictaors for 30 years like Mobuto, Compoare, Pinochet, Sukarto. Did you read confessions of an economic itman? Do you want democracy now or Russia today? They tell what iss really going on.

In Ecudaor president Correa didn't allow forieng companies to exploit his resources so he had an attempted Overthrow just like Hugo Chavez in 2002.

The irony of it all is that with all the love Africans show oyibos, they continue to treat us like crap and with utter disdain. The day we learn to love ourselves and give oyibos a taste of their own medicine when they come on our turf will be the day they will think twice before treating us like crap in their respective countries. They take our hospitality towards them for granted. I also found that most Africans from all-black countries are ignorant of the fact that outside the African continent, we are treated like crap by oyibos and hated by them in subtle and not so subtle ways.

I personally blame we Africans because though it is good to show hospitality to strangers and visitors in one's country, it should not be to our own detriment as a people. That is exactly what our ancestors did, being hospitable to a group of strangers who had evil intentions in their hearts towards them. By the time they realized what was going on, they were already being enslaved and colonized.

The African takes the oyibo's fake smiles for face value thinking that the 'smile' is a sincere one from the heart and not knowing that it is a ploy to get him to put down his guard so that he (oyibo) can backstab him (African) when he least sees it coming. We should also learn to stop 'worshipping' people whom we perceive to have more money or earthly wealth than us. It is because we perceive them oyibos to be wealthy (even though many of them are not), that is why some of our people treat these mere mortals like semi-gods. It is also because oyibos perceive us Africans as poor, that is why in their countries they harrass you in their stores because they think you are there to steal their merchandise. It all boils down to perception my people.

We as Africans should also try to patronize each other by purchasing goods made and or sold by our people and not chinco, lebanese, indian and oyibo. Instead of spending your money in europe or north america, spend it in Africa instead whenever possible. It does not have to be in Nigeria, it can be any African country. I used to remember as a child, alot of my mother's friends travelled to Cotonou, Accra, and Dakar to buy some really nice goods including clothing and bring them back to Nigeria to sell. Today, many Nigerians prefer to buy only goods brought in from London, Dubai or America. If I am to ever buy goods abroad, it is because I could not find them in Africa. Believe it or not, you can find almost everything you desire back home. You just have to have the patience to search. Lastly, we Africans never seem to learn from our past mistakes which sadly means that we will continue repeating them to our own detriment. It is time we wake up from our slumber.

After watching several videos on justice for africa's channel i felt completely overwhelmed at the enormity of our self hatred, ignorance and love for whites.  this particular video really convinced me of just how deep rooted our self hatred is - the damage is so deep that it will take another generation of young black africans to grow up with a healthy self image

a few corrections i feel i have to make
1.africa is not latin. africa is actually the name of a roman general called scipio africanus. he named the continent after himself. its a biblical prophesy psalms 49 vs 11

2 'Jesus' was not an arab man. he was a black man. in those days, that region of the world was part of africa and occupied by black people but the roman empire had started to take over the world so that the romans put their own puppet govt (king herod a roman edomite)) to rule over the black people (called israelites from the tribes of benjamin, judah and levi). in 70AD the romans finally decided to take control f that region and they slaughtered lots of black people while about 1 million fled on foot to west and south africa. these parts of africa were empty then. and from the 3 tribes fleeing to west africa erupted a new set of communities called the igbos, yorubas, ashantis, fantis, ga, lemba etc etc. Here is a description of jesus. Wooly hair and skin that is the color of brass as if it had been burnt in a furnace (this is the color of wesley snipes) (Rev 1 vs 14-15). the romans killed him because of this. even though prophesy was been fuilfilled, this may have been the first recorded case of racially motivated murder. A SELF RIGHTEOUS BLACK MAN PARADING AROUND CALLING HIMSELF THE MESSIAH DIDNT SIT TOO WELL WITH THE ROMAN AUTHORITIES.

There is nothing you can do about the inferiority complex of the black man and the superiority complex of the white man. this is all prophesy playing out. the world will never find peace until the white man has been subdued when Yahawashi returns. The lord has said that the white man will inherit the fatness of the land by using his sword (weapons). The lord has also said that he is a very proud man (obadiah 1 vs 3) (edom is the biblical word for white people). The lord also said that when the white man finally takes control of the world, he will replace the true image of 'Jesus' with his own image (job 9 vs 24). the reasoning behind this is that if i can get the other races to worship me, then i will rule forever. The lord also said that he will put us in darkness about who we really are and put us at the mercy of the white man (thats why alot of us think we are igbos, yorubas, calabar, ashanti etc etc ), all these classifications are after the fact. Anyway to cut long story short, we are living out prophesy and its all due to not obeying the lords laws statutes and commandments. but eventually all will be restored, the white man will be subdued and all his weaponry destroyed and he will become the slave. Honestly, I am igbo and I don't want that again. My family went through hell and they don't want anything like that again. We should have our own state and 1 big state with our rules and one leader who serves the people, that would be better. The resources will be allocated better this way.

Why can't we fund anything ourselves? Everyone loves funding things for us. He have plenty of money, can't we fun it ourselves? But I rather do business with the Chinese than the west.

Nigeria will be attacked in the name of "humanitarian aid" and they will bomb the north and steal oil. They want Nigeria to disintegrate so it is easier to control. They also want to kick the Chinese out like in Sudan and Libya. Then they will steal oil. As soon as Goodluck starts to find vision and goes his own way then America will attack. They want to steal Iran's oil because the government is making their citizens standard of liing go up. They also say they want to create a nuclear program. In the past 500 years, Europeans have brought hell to Africa. First with slavery, then colonialism, and now neo colonialism. We still look up to them and want to be like the,. We still let them disrespect us and come to our country and run things. We almost worship them. Religion may play a part in it but why do we continue to trust these people more than our own people? We need to have one pan africanist language that is Swahili taught in all schools in Africa and they should teach at least a native language and English so everyone is fluent in 3 languages.

Gaddaffi was a hero velo2011 and danka7777 are right.Gaddaffi wanted to unite Africa under one against the imperialists. He wanted the single African language, African currency, African monetary fund, and African central bank. In December 2010 the EU tried to invest in the AMF and the AU declined and 3 months later there is a war in Libya. I guess he wasn't secret enough. The entire revolution was staged by America to get rid of people they didn't like and ultimate get Gaddaffi. They froze billions that were going to be used to unite Africa but the imperialists don't want that. And Obama who has a kenyan father is trying to replunder Africa.

The South Americans united and now their economies are BOOMING and America won't mess with them. Middle East are rising up and the Occupy Nigeria movement was a good start but there needs to be a true revolution in most African countries (besides Zimbabwe) in order for it to work. Most of the African leaders serve foreign interests. Africa would have to unite with a military power to be saved. Most Africans don't even kow this sadly.
