Look at our names too. Many Nigerians have English names, do any English people have Nigerian names?? We always try to be other people instead of ourselves.

Nigeria produces 500,000 tonnes of rice and consumes 2.5 million tonnes. We need to see this as a business opportunity. Let's manufacture our own farming tools and send them out to farmers around the country. Once we do this we need invest in teaching the farmers how to farm from the best farmers in the world. Once they learn the technique, we use our 74 million hectors of arable land to produce the best rice in the world and sell it to every country in the world. We will feed ourselves and every country. We must subsidize our farmers so they are not losing money to. This will be an AGRICULTURAL REVOLUTION!!! Cassava, rice, wheat, apples, oranges, milk, meat, etc.

This will create millions of jobs and feed the entire nation. Our leftovers will be exported so we can gain forex. Once the farmers are taught how to farm, they will teach generations of their kids. It is hot in Africa all year, we have a comparative advantage in this. While it is too cold in other countries, we can export to them.

Africans are the most confused race on this planet! We will be anything other than ourselves and that is like spitting on the God that created you. We will speak any language other than our own, we will wear any hair style other than our own, we will worship any God other than our own, we will go to any temple other than our own, we will wear any clothes other than our own. We simply hate ourselves or were made to hate ourselves,any which way we do hate ourselves.

Why are we like this? We need to wake up wear our own clothes, do our own religions, we wear other people's hair. As Malcolm X said, "Who taught you to hate ourselves?"

Let's wake up from this nightmare.

This is really good. But somebody neds to start a company that manufacturers trains in Nigeria. We need to get our engineers the experience then maybe they can start building planes as well.

I don't think I want Oby Ezekwesili or Ngozi Okonjo as a preisent of Nigeria. They worked for the World Bank and I think that the World Bank will use them as puppets for American interests. If they will fight against imperialism then theywould be great presidents. But if Fashola isn't president then he should be a governor of a different state. Maybe he can switch with Ameachi (hopefully tribalism won't affect anything.)

Nigeria should be growing at 25% a year.

1. We need to exploit diamonds that we have (not blood diamonds)
2. Get the best farmers, train farmers and give them the best equipment to make food. Then they will consume domestically and export the rest around the world.
3. Subsidize factories so that they can get more equipment (faster production) and workers (engineers , laborers, managers, etc)
4. Corruption is a NO NO. There should be a corruption hotline and anyone who is corrupt will be reported, have ALL HIS ASSETS STRIPPED AND SOLD to a corruption auction.
5. High tariffs or ban unnecessary products that can be produced at home.
6. Bring Nigerians in the Diaspora back to build Nigeria. Even ones who were born and raised abroad.
7. SUPPORT NIGERIAN PRODUCTS AND NIGERIAN TOURISM
8. This will reduce crime by 95% more people will visit Nigeria for tours. During the cold months from October to March-April we will have many people visit our tourist attractions.

Honestly this can all be done by January 2012 so our economy can start growing. Over 40 million people will be employed by this and there will be people from other countries coming to Nigeria to work to build Nigeria.

The priority should be increasing the wealth of the people of the state, not distributing wealth.

When you increase the wealth of the state through upskilling and creating a competitive capability, then you distribute wealth to those that did not get some of the action. If you do the latter, you will reduce the fraud cases as wealthy people are unlikely to be engaging in welfare fraud.

Cart, horse.

What does Cart, horse mean? Yeah we shouldn't distribute wealth but create wealth.

There should be a factory welfare system though.  Give factories money to create more factoires and produce more,

Top priorities
1. Power (so we can produce with cheaper costs. )
2. Roads (many people die in accidents and money is wasted fixing cars. Better roads means better distribution)
3. Education (when more manufacturers come to Nigeria that means more tax revenue so more money for education which will be the future of Nigeria.) We must have 100% literate people)
4. Healthcare (When there is power all day then less costs for hospitals, so more clinics and hospitals will open.  More money from taxes will be put into child mortality, maternal health, and vaccines)

This is all assuming that corruption is gone.  With corruption then this will never happen. Also when people build hospitals, clinics, and schools then people will be employed for construction. The products made to built these building should be produced in Nigeria which will help the economy out more.

The reason I put power and roads first was mainly because if these are good then education and healthcare will flourish easier.

Did anyone know that the CIA goes around the world and makes sure that many governments get overthrown?  There is a book called Confessions of an Economic Hit Man that talks about it.  They even did this in Nigeria.

What do you guys think about this? Thee US CIA talks to Nigerian government officials and tells them to do what they say.  If they do not listen then they will end up like Patrice Lumumba, Salvador Allende, or Thomas Sankara.  Those men were all presidents who died in power.  If they don't kill you then they will overthrow your government like Kwame Nkrumah.

This is all about economics.  If a country is producing there own food, computers, lights, cement, medicine, clothes, etc then that is less money for America.  That is why they set up low trade barriers in other countries so they can dump cheap goods there.  As Nigerians we must start producing our own products.

This is why great leaders like Muhammed died.  They want to keep up dependent.  Our leaders must stop being western puppets.  Hugo Chavez, Robert Mugabe, Evo Morales, and Ahmajinhad are all standing up to imperialism.  Goodluck must do the same.

Nigeria isn't ready for socialism yet. We need to build infrastrucutre, get better edcation and healthcare then we can do welfare. Welfare is better than money put into the pockets of politicians.

Us igbos should let some of the locals run the business (if they are competent enough) then we should go back to our homelands and give people jobs there. Factories, Shopping centers, roads, education, healthcare, etc. Then we can be making money twice with our old business and new business. or we can sell our old business and just start a new one.

Agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism is the future in Nigeria. We can get the investments from financial firms in Lagos, Abuja, or PH.

Look how we can say all the disadvantages of Nigeria but we can hardly say any advantages. Why do we hate ourselves so much?

Why do Nigerians love to be like other people? The China of Africa, the Jaan of Africa? We need to be like NIGERIA!!!

AGRICULTURE!!!! Rice, cassava, fish, agriculture is on the rise.

The road business needs to be give to governors. They aren't as corrupt as the FG. Fashola, Rochas, Chime, Ameachi, etc would put the money to use more than the FG.

We need to stress our languages and speak it at home and to friends, then use English for school and work. Chinese for international business.

Nigerians go to Dubai, London, US, etc but they don't stay in country and go to Tinapa, Badagry, or other tourist attractions. If we stay home then we are helping OUR economy. BRICS are the next emerging market economics. Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. Russia might leave this group because they aren't growing as fast and Indonesia might join the list. Nigeria is set to overtake South Africa so they might leave too.

If Nigeria joins BRICS that means that more investors will invest in Nigeria. They will set up shop and give people jobs or start doing more trading in the country. Many youths need jobs so they will be able to get them. With investment comes taxes so this will help the government raise revenue which will help the people of Nigeria. Nigeria's economy is comparable to Indonesia's. If they can make it then so can we. What do you people think about this?

We are very proud people, many people call us cocky or arrogant. Potential to be a force to be reckoned with. We need to EDUCATE EVERYONE for free. Free from age 5 to 18. For people who want to be a doctor,nurse, healthcare business, or engineer they get free university because we need more of those. Where we have a lack of supply those people can go for free.

The government needs to support everyone so the people are able to do it. Infrastructure (roads, power, IT), education, health care, social programs and that is it. Nigerians are smart enough to do the rest. Once they stop stealing in almost every aspect of society, then we will be a top economy.

Government should invest in people and people invest in the economy.

When Ngozi first received her offer from Goodluck I was excited.  I thought she would improve Nigeria forever.  I am wrong, this women wants to enslave Nigeria.  WORLD BANK? The same people that enslave many developing countries econommically?  There are many investors who would invest 550m How about the guy who is head of the Gatwick investment fund that bought the airport?  Ask people like him to generate funds for agriculture.

People are less likely to steal from private funds than from World Bank.  That money will get higher and higher and Nigerian corrupt officials will just steal it and buy AMERICAN OR EUROPEAN CARS AND PLANES!! That will not benefit Nigeria at all.  Kick this woman out of Nigeria, she does not want to help Nigeria.  The World Bank sees Nigeria as a future threat so they put her there to be a puppet. She is just like the majority of Nigerian politicians.

Read the book "Confessions of an Economic hit man"by John Perkins "Dead Aid" by Dambisa Moyo and "Bad Samaritans: The Myth of Free Trade and the Secret History of Capitalism" by Ha=Joon Chang.  

Dead Aid will show you why foreign aid does NOT work. Confessions of an Economic hit man will tell you that the CIA goes to kill good politicians and only supports bad ones.  Bad Samaritans: The Myth of Free Trade and the Secret History of Capitalism will tell you about how the "Unholy Trinity" (coined by Ha-joon chang) called the World Bank, IMF and WTO are NOT helping developing countries.  They will lower the tariffs so American goods can come to Nigeria for cheap, deregulate foreign direct investment so people can come to Nigeria and do whatever they want (like Shell), make Nigeria pay a HUGE amount of debt and instead of paying for education, and health care.

The world bank/ CIA/ IMF/ WTO are more corrupt than Nigeria's government because they are the ones that put the bad government in many countries.  They force governments to be bad or they will end up like Thomas Sankara or Patrice Lumumba (Great leaders in Africa who died) or Kwame Nkrumah (overthrown government in Ghana).

Nigerian firms should be doing FDI in other countries as well. Dangote is making a cement plant in Cameroon, more Nigerian firms should be doing this. After this happens then it will bring money to Nigeria. We need to trade with more African countries too.

This is why Nigeria cannot succeed. Most people are doubting us being able to beat America. Nigerians are the most proud people in the world and we cannot but we don't believe in our people.

If we had electricity we would start manufacturing more in Nigeria and export more. This would create millions of jobs and we would get forex. Then we can do more research and development for our engineers. We need to get business people to set up more projects for engineers so they can get better and better. We need to build infrastructure (road, power, IT) then people can outsource to Nigeria. We will be a great call center and manufacturer. All the youth will work in call centers or factories and save up money and get an education.

We need an education reform and make Nigerians STAY in Nigeria for school.We need to build more schools and hospitals. We don't need a bunch of skyscrapers, we need education and health. This will increase the human capital in Nigeria. Then we can start innovating more.

We need to support people like Dangote, Ovia, and Adenuga. We should support 100 people like that so they can build empires. This will give more people jobs and Nigeria can grow at 20% a year.

Last but not least corruption needs to be dealt with. Any police or government official bribing or embezzling will be fired. If any business person embezzles government money then they will have their license revoked. People need to respect the rule of law so people will be more transparent. This will make Nigeria an envy of the world. Cheap labor, hard workers,and smart people. The anti-corruption bill would change Nigeria for ever.

We need to hire more teachers in our schools and pay them more. We need to make our own supplies. We need to buy our own books, desks, supplies.

We need to raise tariffs on importation of industries that we already have. This can all be done in 4 years if goodluck was serious.

the EFCC has to take the money that was stoeln from Nigeria for that power. After power we need better roads then we will have great infrastructure.

Yes you are very right. People like you need to be in the government. There needs to be a corruption law like in America. We need to kick out all corrupt leaders and have a new generation of people who care about the country.
