President Muhammadu Buhari will not return to Nigeria from his medical leave in the UK anytime soon, according to Reuters Africa. Presidency sources initially said their principal will return last Saturday, but that was not the case. The report claims Buhari’s doctors have to carry out a test on him on Monday and the results will determine when he will return to Nigeria. His wife, Aisha, travelled to the UK on May 30 to see the President, who has been out of the country since May 7 for further medical check-ups. “My husband is recovering fast. And very soon, he will return to the country to resume his official duties,” she said on arrival. Officials have refused to disclose details of his health condition. Popular 33-year-old American model and former stripper, Amber Rose, took to her Instagram page on Friday night and shared a semi-n*k*d photo where she flashed her crotch in her most shocking picture ever. The mother-of-one who is known for her signature blonde buzz cut, grabbed the attention of the internet when she posted the controversial photo of herself without trousers or underwear on social media which showed her unshaven private part region for everyone to see. The explicit picture showed Amber covering her eyes with a pair of large square sunglasses and lay on a black furry coat, while her skin shone with body oil. The photo was pulled down from Instagram within two hours of being posted, causing her to tweet a video of herself rolling her eyes with the caption: ‘When IG deletes ur fire ass feminist post but you really don’t give a f*** because everyone picked it up already.’ Despite Amber’s career being built on her risque outfits and endlessly flashing the flesh, her fans were still shocked by her latest antics, especially as her 4-year-old son Sebastian could one day discover the image. — Against the October 1 ultimatum issued by a group of Northern Youths under the aegis of Coalition of Northern Youths (CNY), former Abia State Governor , Dr. Orji Kalu has commended the governors of the 19 Northern states for their commitment to the indivisibility of Nigeria, noting that their actions will go a long way in further strengthening the peaceful co-existence among all ethnic groups. According to Kalu, the threat by the CNY is unfair, uncivilized and barbaric, noting that national peace is not negotiable. He noted that the heterogeneous nature of Nigeria should be seen as an advantage ,stressing that regardless of ethnic, religious and political sentiments, Nigerians are known to be peace loving and accommodating. Speaking with a group of Igbo businessmen who paid him a visit in Lagos on Thursday, Kalu called on Ndigbo to be calm, steadfast and law abiding . He said, “It is a known fact Igbo are the salt of the nation. The entreprenuership drive of Ndigbo has contributed immensely to the growth and development of Nigeria. “Ndigbo should be celebrated for providing employment opportunities and wealth to the teeming Nigerian populace through their enormous investments across the country, out of which N45trillion is in the North”. The former governor further added, “as a statesman, I am an advocate of peace and harmony and we shall continue to spread the message of togetherness, brotherhood, patriotism and selflessness. “In a society, differences are bound to occur but they should be resolved amicably without disrespect to the rule of law. “Even in a family, husband and wife do quarrel over trivial issues but it usually resolved at bedtime or over dinner. “We should adopt mechanisms of peaceful conflict resolution when there are grievances” While calling on MASSOB, IPOB and others to convey their agiatations to appropriate authorities through dialogue, constructive criticisms and engagement as against using illegal means, urged Nigerians to be their brother’s keeper. Kalu stressed that Igbo are married to Northerners and vice versa and as such, there is no basis for disaffection between the two ethnic groups or any other ethnic group. The former governor also used the opportunity to charge governors of the South East states to further ensure the protection of lives and property of Northe rners living in the South East as a way of reciprocating the gesture of the northern governors. PRESS STATEMENT BY THE CHAIRMAN OF THE SOUTH EAST GOVERNORS FORUM, HIS EXCELLENCY, ENGR. DAVID NWEZE UMAHI, IN RESPECT OF THE THREAT TO NDI IGBO BY AREWA YOUTH 1. The attention of the South East Governors Forum has been drawn to the widely publicised ultimatum, credited to a coalition of 16 northern youth associations or groups, demanding that Nd’Igbo resident in Northern Nigeria should vacate the region within 90 days or before the 1st day of October, 2017; and equally urging northerners resident in Igboland to return to the North within the same time spectrum. 2. Typical of our preferred modus operandi, we have carefully considered the contents of the highly provocative statement and reflected on its implications for Nd’Igbo specifically, and for the status of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as a viable and sovereign nation generally. 3. This public statement is intended to accomplish a couple of objectives, one of which is the expression of our deep appreciation to all Nigerians, including the Presidency; the reputable socio-cultural group, Afenifere; the President of the Senate, His Excellency, Dr Bukola Saraki; His Excellency, Alh. Atiku Abubakar; our brother Governors particularly His Excellency, Alh. Kashim Shetimma (the Chairman of Northern Governors Forum); Rtd. Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (the Honourable Minister of Interior); His Excellency, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai; the leadership of Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF); the security agencies and many others who have declaimed the dangerous threat by the misguided northern youth, and thus underscored the unity and oneness of this nation. 4. The South East Governors Forum has repeatedly reiterated its commitment to and preference for the existence of a virile, united, prosperous and progressive Federal Republic of Nigeria where justice, fairness, equity, mutual respect and equality of opportunity to all citizens regardless of creed, ethnicity or gender will reign supreme under the inflexible rule of law. We have had occasion recently to take this position publicly in response to the agitative but peaceful actions of some Igbo youth. We will continue to take a similar stance in response to any action that might threaten the cohesiveness of this nation or designed to cause its rupture. 5. The lives and property of law-abiding citizens of Igbo extraction are as precious as the lives and property of all Nigerians, irrespective of the region of their abode within this Republic. These must be guaranteed and defended against all forms of threat and aggression, both domestic and external, by the security forces/agencies of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We the Governors of the South East are collaborating effectively with the security agencies to ensure that no harm of any description is visited upon any law-abiding Nigerian citizen resident in the South East of Nigeria, including those from the North of Nigeria. 6. We must call on all serious minded patriots, particularly the religious leadership in Northern Nigeria; the leadership of other socio-cultural groups in Northern Nigeria apart from the aforementioned; the Nigerian Governors Forum; and all the service branches to rise up with voices of peace and wisdom to counteract the mischievousness and exuberant excesses of the northern youth. The ugly lessons of history are too grim to be stoked with carelessness. As leaders, we must exert the full measure of our powers and influence to forestall a repetition. 7. We call on all our Igbo sons and daughters resident in Northern Nigeria to go about their lawful daily engagements without fear of intimidation, hindrance or molestation. 8. The rumours being peddled on conventional and social media platforms that we, the Governors of the South East, have met and agreed to mobilize vehicles and cash for the repatriation of Nd’Igbo resident in northern Nigeria must be disregarded, as they are nothing but tissues of lies. No amount of provocation would lead us to such a precipitate and and irresponsible action at this time. Those exploiting such vacuous tittle-tattle as a basis for divisive rhetoric in public spaces are simply playing juvenile politics and we urge them to cease and desist. 9. Long live Ndi Igbo! Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria! Signed: Engr. David Nweze Umahi Governor of Ebonyi State and Chairman of South East Governors Forum Source : http://ndigboblog..co.ke/2017/06/quit-notice-to-igbo-gov-umahi-reacts-to.html?m=1

Kogi Socio-cultural group, Ujache Igala Association has called for arrest and prosecution of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu for allegedly mapping out Kogi and Benue states as part of Biafra territory. They, therefore, demanded his immediate arrest. In a communiqué signed by the group’s National Chairman, Chief Goodman Akwu and Secretary, which was made available to journalists in Abuja, the group described the claim as ‘madness of the 21st century’. It wondered the parameters that made Biafra agitators think that Kogi and Benue states were part of them. “There is no cosmogony affiliation or cultural affinity whatsoever of Biafra with Kogi or Benue and mapping out those states as part of Biafra cannot be less than a show of hallucination. “It is high time the government overcame its insouciance and nipped this audacity of seditious act on time”, the group said. The group warned against a repeat of civil war which happened between 1967 and 1970 “when most of those class of Nnamdi Kanu and his co-travellers have not yet been born,” saying the elderly ones in Igbo land who saw it all and escaped by the whiskers were not fair to the younger generations for not telling them the truth, hence, the zone was gradually being receded into anarchy. They demanded from Biafra agitators to explain how they arrived at making Kogi and Benue state part of Biafra geographical area, while reminding them of Kogi and Benue people’s historical antecedents of warfare. “Kogi and Benue people in the middle belt are aborigines of Kwararafa Kingdom and it is important that our historical antecedents of warfare should be understood as well as the Biafra agitators should be reminded that these are no cowards. It is incomprehensible making Kogi and Benue as part of Biafra, they should try other zones. “We have noticed with rude shock that the Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohaneze Ndigbo was directly supporting IPOB instead of advising them on the consequence their action would generate”, they said. The group pointed that democratic regime and freedom of expression did not support secession under any guise as it were, explaining that the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu had breached the bail conditions that left him off the hook. It added that IPOB leader’s dual citizenship still subsisted despite court decision, saying that if anything happened, he would leave the country. The group called on the Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris to arrest the IPOB leader for prosecution within two weeks, failure with which they would take to streets in peaceful protests. According to them, government was under-estimating activities of IPOB, MASSOB and others at the peril of the nation, urging that the Police, Department of State Services (DSS) to investigate cache of arms recently ceased by the Nigeria Customs in Lagos. They asked the Nigeria Customs to disclose publicly, the outcome of their investigations into those behind the importation of arms, noting that rumours were linking the arms to IPOB. “We suspect complicity on part of IPOB in the recent seizure of cache of arms by the Nigeria Customs and we call on the Nigeria Police and Department of State Services (DSS) for a thorough investigation”, the group maintained. A group, Advocates for Peace and Effective Justice Development Initiative (APEJDI) has called on the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to probe source of funds the Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige, used to allegedly purchase a property worth $922,600 in the United States. This is contained in a petition addressed to the EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Magu and signed by its National Coordinator, Maxwell Alaeto. APEJDI noted that Ngige shortly after leaving office as governor of Anambra State purchased the said property. It said the house, purchased on March 7, 2008 is situated in 13910, Crest Hill Lane, Crest Hills Acres, Silver Spring, Montgomery county, Maryland, United States. Alaeto said the deed for the property was made on 7th day of March, 2008 between Longview VII,LLC, party of the first part and Dr. Chris Nigeria, party of the second part. “The Federal government cannot be seen to be paying lip service to her much orchestrated fight against corruption. Nobody is above the law. “We therefore implore you sir, to cause an investigation to be carried out in the overall interest of the people of Anambra State and the country in general”, APEDJI stated in the petition. http://ndigboblog..com.ng/2017/06/exposed-ngige-has-922000-property-in-us.html Source :

The Federal Government on Sunday condemned the deadly terrorist attacks on Central London Bridge and the Borough market in “the strongest terms” and voiced its deep condolence to the relatives and victims of the attack. Seven people died in the attack in central London on Saturday night and 48 were injured. The Foreign Affairs Ministry in a statement by its spokesperson, Clement Aduku, said: “the government and people of Nigeria stand with the government and people of Great Britain in the face of continued terrorist attacks on innocent victims. “Our thoughts, sympathy and prayers are with those affected in these latest multiple terrorist attacks and their families,” the ministry stated The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reports that assailants drove a van into pedestrians at high speed on London Bridge on Saturday night before stabbing revellers on nearby streets. The police said armed officers shot dead all three attackers within minutes of receiving reports of the terrorist attack unfolding in central London. The three men were wearing suicide bomb vests that were later confirmed to be fakes. Cressida Dick, the Metropolitan police commissioner, said on Sunday morning the incident was under control. “We believe there were three attackers and we believe they are dead,” she said Police also confirmed the arrest of 12 people in the Barking district of east London in connection with the attack and raids were continuing there. In his reaction, Acting President Yemi Osinbajo said he “strongly condemns the sickening atrocity perpetrated by a misguided and cowardly group of terrorists who attacked innocent persons in the London Bridge area on Saturday night.” Mr. Osinbajo stated that Nigeria “stands with the government and people of the United Kingdom and extend our condolences to the families of the victims. “The Acting President notes that the latest attack in the U.K. reinforces the need for the global community to act with greater vigour to overcome the extremist ideologies which underpin terrorism,” his spokesperson said. http://ndigboblog..com.ng/2017/06/acting-president-osinbajo-condemns.html Click for more :

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has said that Mazi Nnamdi KANU is not afraid of going to prison a second time. The group in a statement made available to DAILY POST by its media and publicity secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful said there was need to make the clarification, especially for those who were calling for the rearrest of Kanu for flouting his bail conditions. The group said the call stemmed from the success of the sit-at-home protest declared by KANU, which it said witnessed a large participation. It said: “Arresting Mazi Nnamdi Kanu again cannot stop the agitation rather it will be a very big mistake on the side of Federal Government and her security operatives because when the security operatives arrested him on his arrival from London in his hotel room in Lagos it sparked protests and rallies across the world. “Arresting him again will draw the attention of the world leaders and other relevant world organizations closer to the quest for Biafra independence. “Therefore, we don’t give a damn, whether they arrest him or not we don’t bother. Keeping Nnamdi Kanu in or out of Nigeria prison matters nothing to us because the restoration effort continues unabated. Having Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in prison is always good for the struggle to restore Biafra.” The group said the refusal to free him after two courts of competent jurisdiction granted him unconditional release elevated the struggle to another level. He boasted that if “Nnamdi Kanu dies in prison or any other means then Nigeria will witness a level of seismic destruction unknown to mankind that even Britain cannot stop. “IPOB and it’s leadership are not even deterred by any threat from any corner because what we are doing is inalienable rights to all the indigenous people around the world and it was enshrined in the United Nations charter.” More http://ndigboblog..co.ke/2017/06/biafra-nnamdi-kanu-not-afraid-of.html?m=1

Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, has condemned a statement by to the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, in reaction to a recent press interview in which he advised Ndigbo against placing all their political eggs in one basket. “I am only practicing what the late leader of Ndigbo, Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu taught us,” he said, warning the “new” MASSOB leadership “to show little respect to the elders who have immensely contributed and continues to contribute to the wellbeing of the South-East region”. A statement on Sunday by his Special Assistant on Media, Nwachukwu Obidiwe, described Ngige as a consummate Igbo leader who would never disparage the Igbo or work against their interest. It reads: “With his sterling pedigree as former President General of Aka-Ikenga for eight years, member of Ohaneze Strategic Committee and member, Imeobi Ohaneze, Ngige only advised our people to rise above the prevailing self-pity, awaken the resilient spirit for which Igbos are known and quickly re-strategise as other geo-political zones in the country are currently doing.” “I wish to put on record that my position is exactly the same position our late leader, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu took in 1982 when he left the Igbo dominated NPP to join the NPN. “Ikemba reasoned that while Igbos give support to Zik’s NPP, there was also the wisdom in spreading our political net to the waters of the ruling party. Ikemba did so to ensure that Ndigbo was not all boxed into a regional party or enclave which can disconnect or limit their participation in the nation’s apex political conclave. “If Ojukwu thought that doing otherwise was myopic in 1982, why is a section of the Igbo crucifying Ngige for preaching and practicing the wise counsel of our eternal leader, Ikemba,” the statement quipped. “It is therefore clear that the ‘new’ leadership of MASSOB needs a clearer and undistorted interpretation of the truth in my position, which is that it is politically unwise for us to repeat in future elections, the 2015 presidential election voting pattern where all our eggs were dumped in one basket; the basket failed and the eggs all broken. “I wish to further add that there is enough opportunity for the Igbos to make up whatever perceived loss it currently encounters, but our leaders need to shun the creeping political narrowness and play politics more astutely. “What matters most is not how “big” the positions we occupy are, rather, what we are able to achieve for the Igbo with what we occupy. “Today, work is on-going on all the major federal roads in the South East; Enugu- Onitsha, Enugu- Umuahia-Abia-Port Harcourt, Port Harcourt -Owerri, Oba-Nnewi– Arondizuogu- Okigwe, to mention a few while Julius Berger has been mobilised to the tune of N6 Billion for the 2nd River Niger Bridge. There is also the Benin-Onitsha rail line, with a separate bridge across the Niger, which was not originally in the Jonathan-PDP coastal rail master plan.” The statement added that this could not be achieved with all the so called “big” positions (SGF, Deputy Senate President and Speaker, Ministers of Finance, Health, Aviation, National Chairman of ruling party, Head of army and police etc.) that Ndigbo occupied under the Jonathan administration for six years but that the APC government was doing so in just one budget cycle; that is, between 2016 – May 2017, “knowing full well that 2015 budget was Jonathan’s.” The statement reminded the “new” MASSOB leadership that Ngige as Governor of Anambra State was the only governor in the zone who gave MASSOB full protection against harassment by the security agencies because of their non-violent approach to struggle. “I did not only protect MASOB from undue harassment by security agencies, I sent them food from the state treasury and employed its members in the formidable Anambra Vigilante Service. This was to give stability to the security architecture of the state. The founder of MASSOB, Chief Ralph Uwazurike is alive and can testify to this.” More http://ndigboblog..co.ke/2017/06/biafra-im-doing-what-ojukwu-taught.html?m=1
