Hon. Benjamin Kalu, House of Representatives Member Elect for Bende Federal Constituency visited some motherless babies homes and the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp in Area 1, Abuja to mark his birthday yesterday which coincided with his stay in Abuja to process certain documentations in preparation of the upcoming 9th House of Reps swearing in next month. The camp, established 6 years ago, currently holds 3015 people including IDPs from Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States who were visibly excited to welcome the legislator.

After distributing food, drinks and other items, Igbere TV correspondent in Abuja reports that the member elect celebrated his birthday with the IDPs, singing and dancing with them as he assured them of his commitment to their wellbeing. He declared the improvement of IDP conditions as part of his legislative agenda and described his visit as part of a more elaborate information gathering tour ahead of his swearing in, designed to obtain firsthand experience and information on the conditions of IDPs in Nigeria.


BenKalu Sharing Gifts To The Children
Hon. Benjamin Kalu (popularly called BenKalu) was impressed by the entrepreneurial drive of the IDPs, some of whom had already started petty businesses, and promised to empower them through his foundation. He immediately gave employment to 2 IDPs to commence work in an agricultural business. The member elect also recognized the work of the Camp’s Chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Ahmadu and thanked the administration for accommodating his visit on a very short notice.

In an emotion laden vote of thanks by the Camp’s Public Relationship Officer (PRO) Mr. Umar Gola and the Women Leader, Mrs. liyatu Ayuba, they thanked Hon. BenKalu for identifying with them, stressing that no legislator had visited the camp since its establishment 6 years ago.

Asked by our reporter about his motivation to visit the IDP camp, the Member Elect said,

“The downtrodden people are very dear to me. I hate seeing people in pain, I hate seeing people suffering. So instead of going to party with my ‘big’ friends today, I decided to go to my other friends who may not be privileged to come and cut cakes with me. I went to the camp to interact with them and to share my love with them… the people who feel forgotten and unloved because they lost their loved ones to Boko Haram attacks.”

On the peculiarity of his visit to the IDP Camp in Abuja considering that his constituency is located in the South-East of Nigeria, the legislator had this to say,

“It does not matter. North or South, Nigeria is Nigeria. I belong to a progressive generation of leaders who see the problems in Nigeria not by the colours of ethnicity but by the need to see humanity preserved. When it comes to identifying with the problems of the citizens of this country, there should be no ethnicity. My brother in the North is my brother just as my brother in the South is my brother because, what hurts them should hurt me and vice versa

“Many ask why did I come to the North to identify with the problems of these people, my answer is that I am not only going to the National Assembly to represent Bende Federal Constituency, I am going to represent Nigeria and Nigerians. I belong not only to Bende, but also to Nigeria.”

When he was asked about continuity and his plans for the IDPs, Hon. BenKalu undertook to be a voice for IDPs on the floor of the House of Representatives in line with his legislative agenda. He said,

“You cannot be a legislator and speak on the floor for IDPs without seeing them. In the course of interaction, I have found out that there are 502 families here, 854 adults and over 600 children and these are the people that I interacted with during my tour. They showcased their problems and their areas of strength. They have employable people who have gone through primary and secondary schools as well as diploma and HND levels of education. They also have skilled people who could be employed from the camp. There are business women who are tailors, bead makers, producers of liquid soap and men who are iron benders, tailors, farmers and builders.

“Having seen their condition first hand, I promised them that I would sponsor and support every bill that has to do with their well-being and solutions to alleviate the problems that they face.”
In a final message, Hon. BenKalu urged Nigerians to push humanity ahead of ethnicity.

The legislator was later that day hosted to a birthday dinner by friends.

Suspected Fulani Herdsmen have allegedly killed a man in Imo State yesterday.

Igbere TV gathered that the ugly incident happened at Opposite kenittyza plaza Umuorii in Owerri, Off road safety  road by Toronto round about.

According to an eyewitness who spoke with Igbere TV, "As Fulani Herdsmen were said to have  a land where Hausa's are guiding. They were told not to allow their cattles destroy things. They refused and engaged in a fight with the Hausa boys. After being defeated, they left and came back with guns and machetes."

"Shot one dead and butchered the other one while he is sleeping."

"Now I  ask. Why are cattle rearers allowed to carry guns but security men left with machetes."

"Pls ooo  help and share this until it goes far to people. It must stop, how can I be in my house and a stranger will be threatening my life.. In my own house kwa."

How EBSU SUG President Spent N10m Given To Students By Gov. Umahi Will Shock You(Photo)

Crisis is currently rocking Ebonyi State University, EBSU over the SUG President, Comrade Ogbu Emmanuel inability to account for the 10 million naira gift given to students by Governor David Nweze Umahi.

Igbere TV gathered that Umahi during the Christmas celebration in 2018 gave 10 million naira to Ogbu to give to students as Christmas package.

According to our source, Ogbu allegedly spent the money without given the students their own share of the money.


Meanwhile, a statement obtained by Igbere TV reportedly released by Ogbu has shown how he spent the N10m.

According to Ogbu,

*4 million naira for repair of SUG Buses
*2 million naira was shared between the SUG officials
*1.5 million naira was used to appreciate undisclosed body
*2.5 million naira was used to settle cult clash.

Igbere TV reports that Ogbu despite listing what he did with the money has come under heavy criticism by the students for not doing any tangible projects with the money.

A check on Ogbu's Facebook wall shows that the students are not with him.

According to Ogeh Austine who lambasted the SUG President over the issue said :

How do you feel being the first girl to study Bs Aeronautical Engineering from Benue State?

"I am overwhelmed with joy. It hasn't being am easy journey. I also feel blessed, honoured and accomplished. I was always told aviation especially aeronautical engineering wasn't for women. But I have had to opportunity to prove that wrong. It is also a responsibility to motivate other women, especially from benue state  and make them understand that they can do even greater things regardless of their gender."

Which part of Benue State are you from?

"I am tiv, from Ushongo Local Government Area"

Can you tell us about the University which you studied this course?

"I studied in two different schools. I started my course in the year 2014 at PATTS college of aeronautics, paranaque, Metro Manila Philippines. Studied there from 2014 - 2017. Then I transferred to Holy Angel University, Angeles City, Philippines. Studied there from 2017 - 2019."

Wow! That's nice. Did you study in any university in Nigeria before travelling to Philippines?

"Yes. I studied in Nigeria. B.S Aeronautical Engineering is actually my 2nd Bachelor's Degree. I took up B.Sc Computer science at Benue State University, Makurdi."

That's very great. You look  pretty young. Can you tell us about your age? And having studied both in Nigeria and Philippines, is there any difference in the system of education?

"I am 28years old."

"Yes. There is a difference. The Philippines has adopted the American system of education which is quite different from the system in Nigeria. Both systems of education have their pros and cons."

What made you to achieve this feat?

"Determination, perseverance, hard work, support from my family and friends (most especially from my mum) and most importantly God's mercy and blessings."

Does your mom live in Philippines or she is in Nigeria?

"She lives in Benue state, Nigeria."

Can you tell us about a project that you worked on in school. Did you run into any difficulties? If so, how did you handle it?

"I worked on a few projects while in school both academic and extra curricular ones. Hence, I am the reigning Miss Holy Angel University, Philippines. I am always involved in one project or the other. But, the one project I am most proud of is my final research work.  I worked on a birdstrike prevention project for my final research in 5th year. A project feasibility study which had to do with the use of laser lights to prevent bird-aircraft crash.(birdstrikes). And this particular project won me a medal as the best thesis of the year 2019 in the Aeronautical engineering department of Holy Angel University, Philippines."

What challenges did you encounter in the process of achieving this feat?

"There were alot of challenges, being a black person in an Asian country isn't always great. You experience a lot of racism and it affects you as a student. Also, being female in a field that is considered to be for the male gender is also not easy. You have to prove yourself all the time, you are always stereotyped to be not competent enough. Aeronautical engineering itself is very challenging. You have to study extra hard and make a lot of sacrifices, but it will always be worth it in the end."

What motivates and inspires you?


"My mother has always been my inspiration. She is the strongest person I know and everytime I think of the sacrifices she makes for me. I want to be a better person not just for me but for her. I have also cultivated the habit of turning my challenges into motivations. Whatever challenge I face at a particular time, I try to extract some positivity from that situation, make sure I learn from it and build myself into a better human being."

What are your hobbies?

"My hobbies. I am an athlete as well so I like athletic events, I like to play volleyball, go bowling, watch sports channels, especially football. I also like to read, dance, listen to music and taking a walk on the beach with my bare feet."

Who are your mentors?

"My number one mentor will still be my mother. She contributed alot in molding me into the person that I am today. I find myself looking up to her and learning a lot from her. I have always wished to develop myself into the kind of woman that she is and by God's grace even better."

Do you have plan of coming back to Nigeria since you have finished your study over there?

"Nigeria will always be my home and I can return at anytime. But the goal right now is to further my studies, obtain alot of licences and also work at the same time. Hence, there  isn't any university in Nigeria that offers a master is aeronautical or aerospace engineering. I will not be returning home immediately.  But, I will visit from time to time."

Nigerian Girl Breaks Record In Indian University, Bags First Class, Gets A Gold Medal, Scholarship(Photo)

A pretty young Nigerian girl from Igbo extraction, Ms Chideraa Njoku has broken another record in Indian university, 9news Nigeria has learnt.

9news Nigeria gathered that Ms Chideraa Njoku, 22-year-old from Mbaise in Imo state has made Nigeria proud by shattering academic records in Pharmacy in Indian Subharti University.

Ms Njoku came on top of her class with first class honours and has been awarded a gold medal for her academic excellence and a scholarship for her onward doctorate degree by the University.

This is coming when Nigerian government does not value what it has or recognize and value Nigerian academics or those with high professional skills. Definitely, other countries around the world would continue to tap into such opportunities for their own benefits, while Nigeria continues to mislay.

Ms Njoku`s parents, Mr Joe & Mrs Happiness Njoku Udorly took their daughter to study overseas due to lack of continuity in the Nigerian system of education and the poor regulatory system of Nigeria Universities commission.

Ms Njoku`s great accomplishment came at the wake of the current Nigerian government`s reckless statement that Nigerian doctors are free to leave Nigeria.  Instead of creating enabling environment that would encourage doctors, allied health and other Nigerian professionals to stay or come back home and make Nigeria better, the Nigerian government through her Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr Chris Ngige has rather advised that doctors are free to leave the country.  With this kind of leaders in the current Nigeria government you begin to wonder where the country is still heading.

TEARS!!! 6 Year-old Boy Found Dead In Woman’s Freezer In Lagos(Photo)

A six-year-old boy, Treasure Akinsohun,has been found dead in woman's freezer in Lagos, hours after he was declared missing.

The freezer was normally used to sell water and soft drinks, Igbere TV reports.

Igbere TV gathered that the woman has been arrested by the police in Lagos.

The command’s spokesman, DSP Bala Elkana confirmed the arrest on Friday, saying that the corpse had been deposited at the mortuary, while investigation was ongoing.

According to Elkana, on April 23, at about 8.30pm, one Eunice Akinsohun of Oyedele Street, Alapere ketu, reported her six-year old son, Treasure missing from about 9am.

He said the corpse of the boy, a day later, was found in a freezer, inside the shop owned by Eunice’s neighbour, one Patience Odowo. Patience’s shop was at 12 Orisigun Street also in Alapere.

The Deputy leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB,Mazi Uche Mefor has denied that the leader of the group, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu replied Asari Dokubo.

In a statement obtained by Igbere TV, Mefor said his attention has been drawn to a concocted, outlandish and quite frankly an outrageous tale published by an online blog being sponsored and midwifed by the Fulani Caliphate and their moles in Biafraland captioned: ''Nnamdi Kanu Reacts To Asari Dokubo’s Murder Allegation''. 

According to him, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu does not respond to servants of the caliphate, instead, he addresses their masters in Sokoto, Kano, Daura and Abuja directly.

Biafra : Gov. Okowa Reveals When Nigeria Will Breakup

The Delta State Governor, Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, on Thursday revealed when Nigeria will breakup.

Igbere TV reports that Okowa said Nigeria as a country will divide the very day the South-South region decided to join struggle for the actualisation of Biafra Republic.

In his words,

“Nigeria will divide the very day the South-South agrees to join Biafra".


Igbere TV reports that Governor Okowa made this known at the Niger Delta Peace and Security Summit held in Koko, Warri North Local Government Area.

Governor Okowa, who was represented by his Executive Assistant/Directorate of Orientation, Barr. Eugene. A. Uzum, said some parts of Nigeria were being oppressed just as he cautioned that peace may continue to elude us as a people.

According to him, until the people in the South-South unite, they cannot move forward.

He noted that the, “Federal Character system and ethnics” in the country have been grossly mismanaged by our leaders.

Governor Okowa, who identified ethnicity as one of the biggest problems of Nigeria said, “Unless you are from a particular tribe in this country, you cannot secure a job. Unless you have one big man somewhere, you cannot get a job.

“Those who control the security apparatus are Hausas. A particular tribe runs the security apparatus.”

Governor Okowa also said “hate speeches” are also part of the problems of Nigeria.

The Governor, who lamented the alleged injustice in the country, said the crude oil in the South-South region is being used to develop every part of the country, stressing that, “This is denigration.”

He also pointed out that the gold in Zamfara State and other solid minerals in the Northern region were left only for a few “cabals” and some “generals” with their companies to mine until bandits started killing people.

While noting that the mineral resources in the South-South region are very attractive, Governor Okowa said peace has deluded the Niger Delta people just as he blamed its leaders in area for their woes.

Governor Okowa, who spoke on the topic, “Peace and Security in the Niger Delta, the way forward,” said for the security operatives to have peace in the Niger Delta, they must keep the peace, stressing that, “Niger Delta is a wounded territory.”

Biafra : IPOB Dep. Leader Replies Asari Dokubo Over Nnamdi Kanu’s Saga

The Deputy leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Uche Mefor has lambasted the former leader of Niger Delta Militant, Asari Dokubo.

In a statement made available to Igbere TV, Mefor described Asari as a warrior -turned coward who is only good at being used as pipeline security contractor.

According to him,“You are brave, vicious, warriors… Igbos are not .., they are cowards but the oil well in your own backyard is owned and controlled by the “Gambaris”, the fulanis, your enemies? and yet you the brave and warrior prefer to be an ordinary “oil pipeline security” contractor to them.?”

“A warrior and just wait… the liberator of his people? Stillmore, you seek to renew and cement that warrior-turned-coward status for Atiku and his Arewa brothers who ganged up against Jonathan, your brother when you have the greatest weapon to use against the system that ensures the continuation of fulani hegemony.?”

“And just still yet, you are an Amakiri who is not subservient to anybody?”

Former leader of Niger Delta Militants, Asari Dokubo has lambasted the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and also described the Igbos as Ijaw slaves.

In a new video obtained by Igbere TV, Asari threatened to deal with Kanu if he tries any nonsense and revealed that he is not a gentle man but original Ijaw man.

He described Kanu as an ungrateful person who is trying to scam everybody but it is impossible because he (Kanu) cannot scam him.

"I no be gentle man at all, at all, I be Ijaw man original. Because of the circumstances of my birth, on how I was raised, that somebody wants to be mad and dance naked in the market, and I will allow it. "

" Me too, I will throw shit at him, if he wants to bath in the gutter, I will bath with him. There are several allegations which has been made, one is that I'm a citizen of Benin Republic, that I'm not a Nigerian that Wikipedia said but I said that's the cheapest lies because it is Wiki gossip."

"It is very simple, any investigative journalist should go to Benin Republic and check if I even have residential permit in that place, I only go there as an ECOWAS citizen and I go and come back ".

" That government was paying me 10 million dollars, it is all lie. What is $10m to me when Goodluck was in power?".

"He said he gave me N20m, where did you give me the money? How? Tell the world how you gave me N20m, to mobilize Ijaw people? For what? "

"I have been IYC President, Deputy, and vice president, if you want to see mobilization, come and you will see genuine mobilization, not that thing you are doing, scamming people and you will call it mobilization".

"My people love me, genuine love but you ran away. You are hiding but I'm in my village and I will not run like you.".

Asari further said that Kanu betrayed his people and revealed that the IPOB leader sent his people to him to take care of his security.

According to him, "you betrayed your people to be arrested. And when we are talking, you are running your mouth. You called me a coward but you put your defense in my hand."

"You sent more than 100 people to stay with me for months. You called me and told me that the way things are, we have reached a critical stage that you want me to handle your security. Am I a member of IPOB? ", he asked.

He said that he is not a member of IPOB and warned that he will release the list of the People that Nnamdi Kanu sent to him for training.

He revealed that the people who stood at Nkwo and Onitsha head bridge are all Ijaw boys and none of them was trained by Kanu.

"When I'm talking, you will talk or your minions will talk? Who are you when I'm talking? Nnamdi Kanu! What a shit of name ".

He described Kanu as an ungrateful person who is trying to scam everybody but it is impossible because he (Kanu) cannot scam him.

Asari said an Igbo Man can never cook for an Ijaw man and warned Kanu never to say he will cook for him.

"Taa, can an Igbo Man cook for an Ijaw man. You no learn history? Go and read your history and know the relationship between the Igbos and the Ijaws and know who was the master."

"Our relationship was master and slave relationship. We are the master and you were our slaves. How dare you talk in front of me? "he concluded.

BREAKING!!! Tension As Fulani Herdsmen Kidnap Two Chinese Citizens In Gov. Umahi's Hometown

Suspected Fulani Herdsmen have allegedly kidnapped two Chinese nationals, Sun Zhixin and Wang Quing Hu, Igbere TV has learnt.


Igbere TV gathered that the Chinese Nationals both male are working with Tongyi construction company in Ohaozara community, Ohaozara local government area of Ebonyi State, Governor David Nweze Umahi's hometown.


According to report, they were kidnapped at a construction site in the area where they were working on a bridge that links some communities in the state and Enugu.


Igbere TV learnt that the two Chinese citizens were whisked away from the construction site around 3:30 pm by masked armed men.

It was gathered that the Chinese nationals were in a ditch at Ivo river when the miscreants invaded the place with arms, forced the workers out of the pit and kidnapped the two Chinese to an unknown destination.

A worker in the construction site who did not want his name in print explained that they were in a pit working when a group of armed men wearing mask invaded the site and forced them out.

He disclosed that one of the workers at the construction site who is an Igbo spoke Hausa language to one of the hoodlums who grabbed the worker and snatched a cell phone from the worker and that the miscreant later released the person and return the phone to him because he used Hausa language to plead with them not to kill him.



The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Odah Loveth who confirmed the kidnapped, said police has dispatched its men for possible rescue of the kidnapped victims unhurt.

According to her, the state Commissioner of Police, Awoshola Awotinde, led the tactical team to the construction site, owned by Tongyi group of companies located at Ivo river at the boundary between Ebonyi and Enugu state Where Sun Zhixin and Wang Quing Hu were forcefully taken away.

” The area was combed to track down the bandits but no result, a track down rescue team has been dispatched to move on in other to rescue the Chinese nationals unhurt”, she said.

She appealed for adequate information from the general public that will help the police in their investigation.

She expressed shock that the company moved to such a lonely site without applying for security from the police.

She said Efforts are on top gear to rescue the kidnapped victim but nearby communities and state should help Ebonyi with any information at their disposal.
