Uncleodi:Pls bear in mind that Davi Umahi was Part of last administration, and if you think that last administration failed, that means he equally failed. The Gov has no right to criticize last administration because he was fully part of the administration. |
Nweze1986:A Journalist Was Beaten up inside a government house in Abakaliki and several media carried the story but up till now, Ebonyi state government has not released any report at least to tell their own side of the story. Or you want to tell me that the governor is not aware? I believe you are among his media team, please tell him to tell his own side of the story because the report is damaging the entire Ebonyi reputation. It's just an advise and don't take it personal because I don't even have time to start exchanging words with you. |
For beating up a journalist Abi? WHAT SHALL IT PROFIT HIM TO BEAT UP JOURNALIST AND RECEIVE AWARD IN RETURN. There should be a freedom of press in Ebonyi. Everybody should be allowed to air his views and without criticism in any government, that government is bound to do as they like. Dave Umahi should call the journalist and apologize to him |

A Malaysian High Court on Sunday, 28th of May sentenced a Kenyan woman to death after she was found guilty of trafficking methamphetamine four years ago. The mother of three was arrested on November 30, 2013, at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport after arriving from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Malaysian Daily Express reports that Rose Achieng Ojala had stuffed three capsules of the drug into her private part and swallowed another 68 capsules, all weighing about 400gm. On the day she was arrested, an Immigration officer noticed that she was behaving suspiciously during the regular luggage inspection. While she was being searched, the immigration officer found three capsules of methamphetamine weighing more than 20g in her underwear. The woman, who claimed she was pregnant, was later taken to the Serdang Hospital, where an X-ray examination revealed that she had swallowed 68 capsules of the drug weighing more than 380gm. She confessed to the immigration officer that it was her boyfriend who had stuffed the capsules into her private parts before she boarded the flight. It was also reported that the single mother who allegedly suffered from Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), had fainted before the proceedings and had to be taken into the courtroom in a wheelchair. In convicting Ojala, the judge said the prosecution had proved the case beyond reasonable doubt. “You are found guilty and there is no other punishment under Section 39(B) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1962 except the death sentence,” he said. Biafra Independent Movement, BIM, has warned the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, against instigating Biafran youths towards violent agitation. The BIM zonal Leader for Ebonyi Central, Chief Gideon Iloke, gave the warning while addressing newsmen on the outcome of the May 30 Biafran Day celebration. He noted that the United Nations and the international community frown at the use of violence in separatist agitations, adding that it was the reason Chief Uwazurike-led pro-Biafra group adopted non-violence in the pursuit of Biafran freedom. Iloke regretted the violence and clashes that erupted in Onitsha and some other Biafran cities during the Biafran Day celebration, saying that the fallen Biafra heroes would be turning in their graves seeing young Biafrans being misled to avoidable deaths. According to him, Biafra has come to stay and any group engaging Nigerian security agencies in a shootout, engaging in destruction or any act of destruction in the name of Biafra, were enemies of Biafra and should be regarded as such. He said, “MASSOB/BIM believe in nonviolence agitation and we have remained so since 1999 to date. We have many groups claiming to be agitating for the actualization of sovereign state of Biafra, but I want to tell the World that any other group apart of MASSOB/BIM that believes in non violence is fake and should be arrested. “This is because MASSOB/BIM believe that we can achieve our aim without instigating biafrans to violence and lawlessness.IPOB Leader ,NNamdi KANU and Uchenna Madu were long expelled from MASSOB because of their believe in violence and destruction. ” In the course of celebrating Biafra day which began from 22 to 30 May,we didn’t block any road, we didn’t destroy the properties of Nigerians nor engage in any act of lawlessness. But we choose the part of peace as approved by the United Nation and the International community. “But Kanu and his group chose the part of violence and were instigating innocent Biafrans to engage in acts of lawlessness with some of them losing their lives in the process. “We condemn this act in its entirety as we believe that its against what Biafra stands for and is known for. If Kanu and Madu cause the death of all Biafran youths what will be the gain of their agitation? “My advice is that Nigeria government and security agents should do their job, and stop looking the other way while one man causes confusion everywhere. Biafra sit-at-home order: Compliance shows formula for restoration of Igbo nation is working – Nnamdi Kanu “We in MASSOB believe in non violence as a way of achieving our Biafra as being championed by our leader, Chief Raph Uwazurike. Any other group that engages in violence is an enemy of Biafra struggle and should be treated as such.” http://ndigboblog..co.ke/2017/05/biafra-nnamdi-kanu-ipob-enemies-of.html?m=1

At the outbreak of the Nigeria-Biafra war, he declared support for Biafra and informed international sports reporters to dissociate him with anything Nigeria. He came back to Nigeria on 18th July, 1971. His international passport was confiscated and the Government refused his request to go out of Nigeria to undergo radical treatment for his cancer. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, on Sunday advised Nigerian youths against wishing him and other elder statesmen dead. He gave the advice while speaking at the youth governance dialogue held by the Youth Development Centre of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun state. Obasanjo, who described the current agitations across the country as an expression of frustration, admonished youths not to lose hope. According to Obasanjo,“Don’t wish us dead; don’t wish us to disappear because you will need us. You need us to mentor and prepare you for the future. You need our experience and assistance of some of us to guide you through life. “You should not lose hope, you should not feel frustrated. Whenever I go abroad, they always ask me what my fear about Nigeria and Africa is, and I tell them my greatest fear is youth anger, frustrations and youth explosion which have no bound. “We have the Boko Haram in the north, the MASSOB and IPOB in the south-east, the militants in the Niger Delta and the Oodua Peoples Congress in the south-west. All of these are the expression of anger and frustrations.” Click for more http://ndigboblog..com.ng/2017/05/you-still-need-me-dont-wish-me-dead.html

On the 30th May 1967, Biafra declaration was made by our Late perpetual subjugation of his people, those who were unjustly massacred, maimed and imprisoned in the Northern part of Nigeria. Hero, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu who saw the After the Declaration of the sovereign state of Biafra, the Northern elites and Yoruba Oligarchy led by Gen. Yakubu Gowon orchestrated an unprepared war against Biafrans as advised by their colonial master, Britain. It was a bitter and horrible experience. The cruelty of the genocide which was executed by the Northerners is an unforgettable memory. 3.5 million Biafrans were killed as a result of starvation, kwashiorkor, and brutalization. Our women were raped and their husbands killed. Our young youths were imprisoned just for demanding the freedom of their unborn generation. The war was executed for 3 years after which there was no compensation nor justice for the war crimes committed by the savages in Nigerian army. The world kept mute. They ridiculed our heroes who were trying to resist the sufferings in their own God-given land. There was never in the history of this chequered country where they were honoured or remembered these great heroes/heroines. Their aggrieved spirits were snubbed and swept under the carpet; they waited until we emerged to speak on their behalf. After the great genocide, there was never a day in Nigeria that Biafrans have experienced peace. Daily we are being humiliated and killed by the Hausa-Fulani cattle herders and the Nigerian armed forces. They have molested our children and women. We left our own land and scattered all over the world, all in the name of seeking for asylum. We have been subjugated in all aspects of life. Now we have decided to go our separate way and build our own nation; the same agitation which our forefathers embarked upon and were sent to their untimely death, yet they would not let us. Our lives are not safe in Nigeria, but yet they won’t let us go, why? We came out to protest against the marginalization, and the perpetual agony we are going through in our own land, and we were brutally massacred, maimed and arrested. Our brothers are languishing in prisons, many have been killed in secret cells and detention camps. When we protested against the unlawful incarceration of our leader Nnamdi Kanu who was held extrajudicially, we were shot at with live bullets and many were killed and the wounded were forcefully removed from the hospitals and secretly executed by the Nigerian agents. On the 30th of May 2016, when we were gathering to honour our Heroes and Heroines neglected for decades by the Nigerian Government and the world at large, it was a bitter scenario; a gory experience which can never be forgotten or forgiven in our lifetime. Many were killed and corpses of dead ones were taken away to conceal evidence; many are still in detention and some are still in hospitals across Biafra land. Some were doused with acid and still in agony and pain. We have now decided to honour them in our own way by sitting and praying for their souls in our various homes, yet the Nigerian government still has the audacity to issue threats against those who have decided to observe the sit-at-home command issued by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Isn’t it laughable and crystal clear that we are not free as a people and not wanted in our own land? Is it not evident enough that we are not and can never be part of the “One Nigeria” slogan? Despite all of this, we have remained strong and survived as a people under harsh conditions. We want to make it clear to the Nigerian government one more time again that we are not born to be ruled with intimidation by Hausa-Fulani and Yoruba forever. For all the sufferings and pains we have been going through in this concocted entity called Nigeria, we are prepared and ready to violate your threats by sitting at home on 30th May. Never shall we abandoned or fail to give honour to whom honour is due as far as Biafra is concerned. Intimidation or threat is meant for cowards, gullible and feeble minded individuals only and not for the hardcore Biafrans. Our fallen heroes will be paid their dues on 30th May 2017 and that is sacrosanct. Click for more http://ndigboblog..co.ke/2017/05/biafra-sit-at-home-threats-will-not.html?m=1 Click for more

Widow delivers baby at Ebonyi stadium, Umahi donates N1m There was shout of joy at the Abakaliki Township Stadium, Abakaliki on Thursdays when Governor David Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi State announced the birth of a baby during a state launcheon party for elders and widows in the state by his administration. The baby arrived just minutes before the governor called out about 1,710 widows to be empowered by the government as part of the efforts to lessen their burden. Immediately, he announced a donation of N1m to baby Rachel and directed his Senior Special Assistant on Religious Matters and the Chairman Christian Association of Nigeria, Ebonyi State chapter, Very Rev. Father Abraham Nwali, to open an account for the baby with the money. Regina Patrick, one of the 1,710 widows drawn from the all the political wards in the state, lost her husband six months ago. Umahi said, “There is a woman whom I was told gave birth in this celebration ground and as I was deliberating with my wife on how Jesus wife should be pregnant, they said she took in before her husband died six month’s ago. Rev Father Nwali will use the sum of N1m to open an account for the child.” The governor also offered scholarship to her from secondary school to university levels. In an Interview on Friday at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Mrs. Patrick from Amagu Izzi in Abakaliki Local Government Area, said that both her and her baby were in stable condition. She explained that she did not get any sign of the baby’s arrival when she arrived Abakaliki until 2pm when she started noticing some changes and decided to rush to any nearby hospital. The lady was full of praises for the governor and his wife for their kind gesture and prayed God to promote them to a higher level. She said, “We went to the stadium because they told us to go there that governor wants to see the widows and it was by 2pm that I started having pains. I was was trying to go to hospital but when we were about to come out , there was big traffic and I gave birth there. “They told me that governor and his wife gave my baby N1 million and gave her scholarship. I am so happy because of how God remembered me through the governor and his beautiful wife. I am thanking him and his wife and I am praying that God will elevate them more.”. While she confirmed that her husband died six month’s ago, she revealed that she has five children. Her first son, she said, was electrocuted not too long ago.
