But as a Governor, I'm a member of every Bible believing church where the truth is preached. Not those fake churches ooo. Those ones that said if Udom Emmanuel doesn't lose election let it be known that God didn't call them. There are two types of pastors, the ones that God called and the ones that called God."

BREAKING!!! Biafra : “It Will Never Work” – Nnamdi Kanu Breaks Silence, Reveals Next Move

Posted 9 minutes ago by Wisdom Nwedene

The leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has finally reacted to the order given by the court.

Igbere TV recalls that the federal high court in Abuja had revoked the bail granted Kanu in 2017, after his continued absence in court.

Reacting over the order, Kanu revealed that he will never be arrested again and said he will challenge the court order directing his arrest in the United Kingdom.

The IPOB leader also tackled the federal government over his prosecution, insisting he is innocent of the accusations against him.

Kanu, who is facing trial alongside other Biafran activists for alleged treason, had gone into hiding months after his bail only to reappear in Israel after one year. He then moved to the UK.

Speaking during a broadcast on Radio Biafra monitored by Igbere TV on Saturday, Kanu said he has instructed his lawyers to challenge the arrest warrant in a UK court.

“The revocation of my bail will never ever hold; they can never convict us because we have done nothing wrong,” he said.

“Every move they make, every decision they take, I will challenge. I have instructed my lawyers, we will challenge in a competent court of law here in Britain where law actually works. I am waiting for them.

“Any day you instruct INTERPOL, that day I will take it up in court and they must answer because here is a civilised country.

“First, I am not a Nigerian citizen. Your bail revocation will never ever work. Anybody interested in revoking my bail would have asked the army what they were doing in my place.”

The IPOB leader said the cause for a sovereign state of Biafra is not a crime, and that the group — which has already been banned and tagged a terrorist organisation — will continue to advocate for its cause.

“They have not even defined the crime they said I have committed. There is no crime in Nigeria called secession; secession is not a crime in Nigeria or anywhere in the world. Only armed rebellion is a crime, not self determination,” said Kanu.

“If you are out to demoralise us, you will never ever succeed. We will continue to agitate; we continue to move forward because we are IPOB; we don’t relent and can never ever relent. Which crime did Nnamdi Kanu and his co-defendants commit? Somebody should name it. Secession is not a crime.”

JUST IN!!! Electoral Fraud: Abia North PDP Senator's Bail Application Leaks (Photos)

Following the conclusion of 2019 general elections, Igbere TV has obtained the bail application of the People's Democratic Party candidate, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa who was arrested for alleged electoral fraud.

Igbere TV recalls that Senator Mao Ohuabunwa had denied being arrested or wanted by the Nigerian Police.

He described the report as “a hoax and ridiculous" and further said there was no iota of truth in the rumour which he said was intended by the peddlers to smear his image.

According to him, “those behind the rumour just want to use it as a smoke screen to divert attention from their obvious connivance in the breaches of the Electoral Act during the polls."

But in the leaked bail application obtained by Igbere TV, the Nigerian Police revealed that Senator Ohuabunwa was arrested for snatching Electoral Materials in the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections.

Igbere TV had reported that Sen. Ohuabunwa was arrested  over strong allegations of kidnap, rigging and destruction of result sheets during the National Assembly elections.

Orji Kalu: 7 Important Facts About The Man Who Might Be The Next Senate President

Following the call by Nigerians from all Regions for the Zoning of the Senate President to the South East, Igbere TV has compiled seven important things that you probably don’t know about ex governor Orji Uzor Kalu, who has been tipped by several analysts to clinch the juicy seat if APC zones the number 3 position to the South East.

Read below:

Orji Kalu is One of the Top Ranking Senators Elect in the 9th Senate.
Kalu, by virtue of his election on the platform of the now defunct National Republican Convention (NRC) into the 593-member House of Representatives in the July 4, 1992 National Assembly to herald the aborted Third Republic, is considered a ranking senator.

The ranking rules confer on former House members same privileges as former senators.

Kalu served as a member of the House of Representatives from 1992 to 1993 and held two key positions of deputy chairman of the Finance and Internal Affairs Committees. He moved the famous Dual-Citizenship Rights Bill in the House. After the military cut short the civil rule, he went back to consolidate his business concerns.

2. Kalu made history on the 18th April 2013 when he became the first black, non Head of State, after Nelson Mandela, to Address the British Parliament.

Speaking on the topic: ‘The historical plight and precarious future of Igbo people in Nigeria’, Kalu made a strong case against the continued institutional marginalisation of Ndigbo in Nigeria.

3. Like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg and Michael Dell, Orji Kalu is one of the University Dropout Billionaires in the world.

Kalu dropped out of University during his final year due to injustice by the University of Maiduguri on his fellow students.

During his university days, owing to the goodwill he enjoyed among his schoolmates, Kalu was elected as a representative in the student union government (SUG) of the tertiary institution and eventually he served as President of the SUG. It was during one of the protests, tagged: “Ali Must Go’’ against the then Minister of Education, Col. Ahmadu Ali (retd.), that the student activist Kalu and others were expelled during the regime of Professor Jubril Aminu as Vice-Chancellor. After much pressure on the school’s Senate, Kalu was recalled, but he refused on the grounds that his expelled colleagues must also be recalled.

Since the school authority refused to yield to his request, Kalu moved on with his life. His expulsion from the university opened his eyes to the business opportunities in Maiduguri and as such he borrowed a token from his trader-mother to start palm oil trading in the city which grew to a multi-billion dollar conglomerate today.

4. On 29th may 1999, Kalu became the youngest Nigerian to be elected and sworn in as governor at 38 Years old, a record he still holds till today.

To the surprise of many, including the then President Olusegun Obasanjo, within six months in office, Kalu had already constructed six roads in Aba metropolis. This feat earned Kalu the title, “Action Governor” when Obasanjo visited Abia State on February 26, 2000. It is on record that Kalu is the first and only Nigerian governor to have been so christened by a sitting president. The energetic governor continued to execute more people-oriented projects across the state.

5. Kalu is the only Nigerian politician ranked by Forbes. This is due to the fact that unlike other Nigerian politicians with no known source of wealth, Kalu’s wealth can be traced to his several business ventures scattered all over the world. As acknowledged by forbes, Kalu made his money before venturing into politics.

According to Forbes 2017 ranking, Kalu is the richest man in the South East.

6. At 25, Kalu was appointed Chairman Borno water board and at 29 he was appointed Chairman, Cooperative and Commerce Bank. Till today, he remains the youngest Nigerian to be appointed to such positions.

7.Kalu has attended courses locally and internationally, including Advanced Management Programme (AMP153) at the Harvard University Graduate Business School and has won many awards, including Leon Sullivan Award by the World Bank, Washington, Special Award by the European Union, Industrialist of the Year by the Nigeria Chamber of Commerce, Trade and Industry and Mines (NACCIMA) and Humanitarian Award by the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

*The Downfall Of Gov. Okorocha, A Bitter Lesson To Greedy Igbo Politicians*

By Wisdom Nwedene

It is no longer news that Governor Rochas Okorocha, a Nigerian businessman, education philanthropist and politician didn't collect his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission for allegedly holding the returning officer of the commission hostage and forced him to declare a winner under duress.

It is also pertinent to note that Governor Rochas Okorocha’s Son-in-law, Uche Nwosu also lost the Governorship election of Imo State to the People's Democratic Party candidate, Emeka Ihedioha.

It's a big blow to the man who I used to respect and admire when he was elected in 2011.

Back then, I see a man full of life, a man who has the imolites at heart, a man who gave scholarships to needy and ready to change the narrative of Imo State.

But something happened when he got elected back for his second term in office.

Greed stepped in.

Greed made him to actually want to impose his Son-in-law to the Imolites even when it is crystal clear that the people have rejected him.

Anybody that knows the history of Ndigbo especially during the colonial master will know that the Igbos hate absolute monarchy.

In fact, it has never had sufficient reign in Igboland.

Why? You may ask

This is because of the presence of sacerdotal institutions of checks and balance.

Igbos are not like the Yorubas, Hausa-fulani who one person or few cabal will hold on to power and determine what an entire state will do.

Also, Okorocha has reduced himself to a comedian and that is why he has been "Iberiberized".

Let me clearly state here that Okorocha’s political career is dead in Igbo land and he should also forget about his 2023 presidential ambitious because it's dead on arrival too.

The downfall of Okorocha, a bitter lesson to greedy Igbo politicians like him.

TEARS!!! Woman Commits Suicide After Losing Two Children In Lagos Building Collapse

Posted by Wisdom Nwedene

A Nigerian woman has committed suicide after the collapsed building in Lagos Island on Wednesday killed two of her children, Igbere TV has learnt.

Igbere TV gathered that she gave birth to the two children, who were between the ages of six and four, through Caesarean Section (CS).

The woman and her husband live in Gambari area of the Island.

Some residents of the area who narrated the incident said she bought a bottle of insecticide called ‘Sniper’.

“Nobody knew what she wanted to do with the Sniper. But a few minutes later, we saw the bottle beside her where she was sleeping and we found out that she was already dead," a neighbour, who preferred not to be named, said.

Sympathisers, however, thronged their house to condole with the husband and family members.

Meanwhile, a mother, Yetunde, whose son was injured, has been too traumatised by the sight of the boy lying critically on the hospital bed, that she has not sat down for over nine hours.

She had been moving from one corner of the Lagos Island General Hospital to the other in search of the prescribed drugs and other needs demanded by the doctors.

The boy survived the injuries and his two legs are in Plaster of Paris (POP).

Politics / Platform, Character Important In Choosing Leaders - Okiyi by Igboblog: 10:03pm On Mar 07, 2019
Platform, Character Important in Choosing Leaders - Okiyi

Abia State Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, has called on Abians to strongly consider political platform and personal character while voting on Saturday.

Chief Okiyi Kalu who made the call in Umuahia while speaking to newsmen stated that it is difficult to divorce leaders from their personal character and political platform while in office.

According to him, “A politician might claim that he will not implement grazing colony as Governor but same politician will be helpless if his political party supports the setting up of grazing colonies. Voters are therefore advised to consider the tendencies of the political platform of contestants to office as well as thier personal character while choosing who will govern them. An arrogant man is a dangerous proposition that voters should distance themselves from as the individual will ultimately mistreat common folks or lead them with the mentality of a “Mr Know All” even while operating within our democratic space.”

He called on INEC to ensure that all the observed lapses in the recent Presidential and National Assembly Elections are corrected while also monitoring the activities of their ad hoc and permanent staff. He assured that the state government was ready to support all those involved in the election to ensure that the legitimate ballot of Abia voters count and are counted.

Chief Okiyi also called on security agents to ensure that they are not used as tools by unscrupulous politicians to thwart the will of the people of the state.

“We have received reports of plans to use security agents to intimidate Abia voters, compel INEC officials to announce wrong results and provide cover for hoodlums to unleash electoral mayhem on the people of the state, and have reported to appropriate authorities. Rogue security agents must know that they are answerable for their actions and will bear full responsibility for any breakdown of law and order in any part of the state.

“Our party, PDP, is ready for free and fair elections and have confidence in the determination of the people of the state to re-elect high performing Governor Okezie Ikpeazu by landslide margins. All we are asking is for the election to be free, fair and peaceful.”

Politics / Ikpeazu Shares Kerosene To Abians (Pics) by Igboblog: 11:02am On Mar 07, 2019
2019 : I Weep For Abians By Wisdom Nwedene (Must Read)

Written by Wisdom Nwedene

Yesterday, pictures of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu branded Tanker distributing free kerosene to people at Umunkpeyi and other locations circulated the social media space.

Many people were seen struggling to get the free kerosene from the tanker.

I was shocked and wept bitterly when I saw the pictures because this is no longer the Abia State I know before.

From Ikpeazu's moves by sharing free kerosene and money to Abians few days to Governorship election, it is crystal clear that he is aware that he has failed the people who entrusted him with power.

I also heard that Ikpeazu said that the dark days are over for the civil servants in Abia State and donated 10 million naira to them.

My question to the civil servants is, will Ikpeazu 10 million naira solve the pains and problems you have been through in the last three and half years?

Let me quickly recall that in the last three and half years, almost all the civil servants in every sector protested over non payments of their salaries.

Let me do flashback, in 2018, the staff of Abia State owned University teaching hospital, Aba protested and cursed Ikpeazu over non-payment of their 9months salary.

The demonstration was staged Inside the premises of the hospital.

Also, in terms of infrastructure, Ikpeazu has not done well.

Let me also draw your mind to the Osisoma Flyover being constructed by Ikpeazu for over three years now.

Despite his promise that the flyover will be completed in January 2019, the truth is that the project has been abandoned.

When it comes to good road, hospital, empowering the farmers, Ikpeazu has not delivered also.

I don't know any reason a true Abia State born should want Ikpeazu to return to the Government House when he has failed to deliver half of the promises he made in 2015.

If you come to Ebonyi State, you will see what Umahi did in terms of infrastructure . He built many flyovers, good roads and empowered farmers. That's what I expected Ikpeazu to do.

Let me make it clear that I'm not from Abia State and didn't receive a dime to pen down this article but as a journalist, I know it is imperative to speak against evils, injustice, hunger, etc when I see them.

Politics / BREAKING!!! Battle For The Soul Of A’ibom: Akpabio, GOC Zone 6, To Abduct Igini by Igboblog: 6:48pm On Mar 05, 2019
BREAKING!!! Battle for the Soul of A’Ibom: Akpabio, GOC Zone 6, to Abduct Igini

Multiple sources within the Nigerian Army and the Akwa Ibom state police command have confirmed a high level plot to abduct the Akwa Ibom INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr Mike Igini before the governorship election of Saturday. Our reporter gathered from these competent sources that Sen. Godswill Akpabio, Nsima Ekere, and the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Zone 6 Port Harcourt, Major General Jamil Sarham, are key plotters of the planned abduction of Mr Igini.

Senator Akpabio, Igbere TV reports, has in the last two months openly complained bitterly against Igini’s continued stay in office as INEC REC. Prior to, and after he lost election to return to the senate last Saturday, Akpabio had lobbied every known influential person at INEC to facilitate the removal of Igini from the state to no avail. His effort has always met brick wall according to our sources at INEC who said Igini’s integrity has always shielded the man. Akpabio and Ekere also reportedly offered a whooping $13m bribe to INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu earlier this week to redeploy Igini, which was apparently turned down. But in what appears to be a last ditch effort, the former Senate Minority Leader is set to throw caution to the winds, engaging in a brazen abduction of the electoral officer in collaboration with a special police squad led by his cousin, Idorenyin Akpabio and some special forces from the controversial GOC Zone 6, Major General Sarham.

“This is going to be a bloody affair and people will die in the process”, our source, a top ranking security officer said in confidence on Tuesday.

“Working with the GOC 6 Division, Major General Sarham, Akpabio, Nsima and their men have concluded plans to abduct the man (Mike Igini). Everything is in place for the abduction. The man will be taken to an unknown place and they don’t care how bloody it will be and what the media will write. What is important right now is that Igini does not remain in office as the INEC resident electoral officer to conduct Saturday’s governorship election in that state (Akwa Ibom). The plan is to have him found somewhere after the result has been announced.”

It was also gathered that Major General Sarham has not only been paid heavily by Nsima and Akpabio to execute the sinister plot before Saturday, but has also been promised the office of Chief of Army Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari as compensation for this collaboration.

“General Sarham is working both for his money and for the office of Chief of Army Staff to the president as promised him by Akpabio”, our reporter was told in confidence.

Igbere TV recalls that Akpabio was accused of abducting the INEC EO and Returning Officers who were deployed to Ikot Ekpene and Essien Udim two weeks ago during the presidential and senatorial election in which he lost. It took the intervention of Mr Mike Igini and some security officers for the officers to be released the following day. They confessed upon their release that during their abduction, they were forced to manipulate ballot figures at gun point to favour Akpabio. The outrageous 105,555 votes from little over 14,000 recorded accredited voters were screened out by the INEC REC, Igini and the correct scores recorded accordingly. Akpabio lost the election to Engr. Chris Ekong of the Peoples Democratic Party.

In separate post-election reports, multiple groups of international observer missions indicted Akpabio accusing him of hijacking materials and also kidnapping electoral officers who were on assignment in his senatorial district.

According to Ms Mphoentle Keitseng, a South African leader of the Pan African Women Project, an international observer mission, “Godswill Akpabio and his gang of thugs on Sunday took their bestiality to another level when they ambushed and attacked foreign observers who visited Essien Udim local government…and prevented access to the collation venue where Akpabio held the INEC officials hostage for more than 5 hours.”

Ms Keitseng added that “having chased away observers and journalists, Akpabio had a field day doctoring the ballot papers and inflating the results in his favour.”

She said “even though the accredited voters were not up to 20,000, Akpabio dubiously allocated 60,000 votes to himself and allowed only 3,000 to go in favour of his rival, Chris Ekpenyong.”

The planned kidnap of Mr Igini, if successful, will not be the first time Godswill Akpabio will be engaging in a brazen illegality with the support of security agents. A report of Saturday’s election by the Centre for Credible Leadership and Citizenship Awareness said that “in the full glare of the military and the IGP squad of the Nigerian Police, hoodlums loyal to Senator Godswill Akpabio assaulted foreign and domestic observers in Ukana, Essien Udim LGA, ceasing and destroying their phones and other personal effects”. According to the report, the gory attack by Akpabio left some of the observers in the hospital.

Yet the Civil Society Organisation also reported Akpabio’s penchant for violence as exhibited in the Presidential election.

In their report, the CSO noted that “In Ikot Ekpene, thugs of Sen. Godswill Akpabio, in liaison of military and police officers, attacked observers and INEC staff and took over collation centres, preventing other political party agents from having access to the collation centres.”

Igbere TV will keep an eye on the development and bring you updates as events unfold.

Politics / Buhari Support Group Calls For Zoning Of Senate Presidency To S'east by Igboblog: 8:11am On Mar 05, 2019
Buhari Support Group Calls for Zoning of Senate Presidency to S'East

A professional group, "South-east Presidential Support Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC)" has called on the party and other stakeholders to zone the Senate presidency to South East in order to enable the people feel the impact of governance.

Igbere TV reports that the group expressed joy over the election of Governor Rochas Okorocha and Orji Uzo Kalu as senators.

The Group revealed that their victory created another opportunity for the South-east to aspire for a principal office in the forthcoming National Assembly.

In a statement issued by the group’s Director, Political Matters, Maxwell Okoye, the support group condemned the suspension of the founding leader of APC in the South-east, Okorocha.

“We thank their constituents for the overwhelming support, assuring them that help has finally come their way.

“We want to state that the position of Senate President should be zoned to the South-east to enable us feel the impact and be part of the change government,” it said.

It said that Governor Okorocha has not committed any crime, but has sacrificed a lot in building and nurturing the party when it was a crime to pronounce APC in the South-east.

It said: “The purported suspension was done in flagrant disregard of Article 21 of All Progressives Congress constitution.

Continuous attack on Rochas Okorocha is an attack on the entire South-east APC and his orchestrated suspension is targeted towards denying the Igbos the position of Senate President.

“Finally, we plead with Mr. President to please call the National Working Committee of our great party to reverse the suspension and apologies to Anayo Okorocha.”
