Konmight: Bros, that chain is still at Enuwa up till now, it's a sacred land and has been fenced. Some years back(I don't know when precisely) some Oyinbos came to steel the chain(I don't know what they do with the stolen artifacts) with the help of some corrupt locals, they wanted to dig the chain out with payloader/excavator(I have not entered so I haven't seen the machine) but they were unsuccessful as the machine stopped working and stucked while some of the thieves were attacked by a particular spirit(I don't know his name ooooo) and couldn't make it out alive. That was why they fenced the land. I'm not disputing the fact that those deities(401 deities) truly exist in Ife, my problem is the various twisted histories that I've read about Yoruba origin and some events like Kiriji War, Oyo Empire War, Modakeke Ife War etc. They should desist from causing confusions. Success. O boy see well composed story. you go fear nau Please i beg every meaning Nigerian to invest in this our patriot. With his writing capability he can surpass the greats like chinua achebe, wole soyinka and co in the literature field..Probably bring another Nobel laurete title home.... |

naijacutee: Africa is not cursed. It is people who through their actions choose to become a curse to themselves.chai e ma akwukwo.....well said |
stfadaanthony: Abamieda leaves on...i remba his sayn,i ave death in my poshna pouch o.... abi na the "S" factor dey worry you? |
Hope.At.Hand:as your grouse with afam4eva is putting ikwerre and igbo in the same sentence, my grouse with you is saying ikwerre is not igbo. Not that I disagree with you. But what is igbo? you make it sound that everybody from abia, ebonyi, anambra, enugu and imo are the of same culture and dialect then Ikwerre is different... I am from delta state and ebonyi igbo is very funny to me. It is better if you say that ikwerre is different from Ngwa, aro, oshimili, etc than say igbo because igbos have different history, dialect, practices, and culture depending on what part you come from. So dont think Ikwerre is the only igboid group with a special uniqueness. Ngwas are unique, Aros are unique..Oshimilli is unique |
o'boy:Nna o nwatakiri ka o bu for her to be writing such arrant lack of knowledge of tradition.... |
AdannayaBella: Any woman can be called Ada but not named Ada? Are you living in a cave or what? There are a million Igbo girls out there who are not first daughters but are named Ada. Ada means daughter, a female child. It doesn't even make sense that a woman can be called Ada (which means daughter) but cannot be named Ada simply because she's not the first daughter.nne sharap there.....ha na kuzi umu azi ihe basara odinani they start acting like say na dem sabi pass ![]() look traditionally, Ada does not mean any daughter but first/ senior daughter. o'boy is right...Just like a nick or pet name any girl can be called ada today.. Dont we call any girl Asanwa, omalicha? Yet do you see a girl whose name is Asanwa? (possible but rare). I am 100% sure you grew out of Ani igbo for you to be writing such treacherous statements. |
adaorap: not everyone that answers ada is the first. Please kindly remove that first because i have seen several people answering that name yet they are not the first daughterNot first child BUT FIRST DAUGHTER...She could be the last born but the first daughter. Although i have seen cases nowadays where efulefu's who dont know tradition are giving their 3rd daughter adanmma. |
Adaobi12: I answer the name, and i wil tel you what it means. Nkechi means,GOD'S OWN. Names can mean different things,to different people. PROPERTY AND WEALTH,ARE BOTH CALLED AKU IN IGBO.Ok o.. I believe that Something that is your own is also your property okwa ya? |
Antivirus92: are u a muslim? And u got the interpretation of ur name wrong. Ozioma means GOOD NEWS!. I am not sure you are igbonna i tire o...all these igbos just dey remix the meaning of their names abi are these not igbo names? Maybe it is Idoma, cos some of their names sound igbo |
Adaobi12: In my language ur name is called, akuchi,or akuchukwu.I thought Akuchi or Akuchuwku is God's wealth and not God's property? Nkechi would more be in line with God's property... Maybe you igbo dialect is just totally different from what I am used to. First you said Adaobi is the first daughter of a chief now it is akuchi is God'd property...Na wa o..who dey teach you igbo? |
Adaobi12: Lets have some fun. Whats your native name, and whats the meaning? Mine is, ADAOBI,meaning, first daughter of a chief. Drop urz pls!!Are you igbo? how can you say adaobi is first daughter of a chief ? Ada quite alright is given to the first daughter, but it doesn't have to be a chief biko...una go dey remix native meaning |

It would be stupid for a common man to assume that these guys are fighting for them.. Dem no dey your level o |
AbdH: From the news, I believe they have not banned Islam officially but they are definitely frustrating Muslims. Muslims should not perspire for....just the way muslims in the north frustrate non muslim?....what is good for the goose is good for the gander if you ask me... Anyways, two wrong dont make no right... In other news Sharia enforcers in Kano, smash bottle of beer cos it is haram...Tolerance is a two way street abu |
It is ill logic to say that the traditional ruler of a town has a bini name hence the people are bini.. Nobody can deny the influence of the Benin empire on the Western Igbos.. It is true if you look back some of the traditional rulers in delta state where either Bini or had Bini name. Just like Luggard was the ruler of Nigeria and other oyibo people after him till we Nigeria got independece. The same way britain sent their people to Lord over conquered territories is no different the Bini sent their chiefs to Lord over conquered territories. So when you look at the history of some igbo town and you say that oh, the first ruler was Oba efe omorogie hence the people in the town are of Bini ancestry that shows that people like agboanten are ignorant... The ruling elites were usually not from the town and those that were, tried their best to assimilate to the overall kingdom's way of life... The first ruler of Nigeria was a british man, i guess we are british smh. does not make sense to me that ika are from bini and now they have lost their bini way of life... |
Cant the fani kayodes of ile yoruba sit one of their clan member down instead of boasting of how many igbo girls he has straffed? A full blown man wearing native with koi koi shoe...o di kwa egwu |
