Means nothing. There are Igbos holding elective posts in Poland, USA, UK, etc. It does not in anyway mean that Igboland should now be fused with those countries in an unholy demonic union. Instead it means that those Igbos had earned the trust of their hosts through years of law abiding behavior, socialization and cultural assimilation and had also shown deep rooted love for those non Igbolands as well as strong leadership qualities, so endearing that the indigenes of those places were willing to trust them with elective leadership positions. Nobody should misconstrue this news to mean that Igboland should be entrapped in a demonic colonial union with non related people. |
Patriotic citizens like Buhari and his Northern and Yoruba supporters who divided the colonial entity into 97% and 5%. Patroitic citizens like Buhari who aligned with his Nigerien Fulani kinsman over an Igbo Nigerian by the name Peter Onu? Patriotic Buhari supporters who supported the imprisonment of a Nigerian over the threat of a Fulani Man from Niger republic, who threatened to take his( the Nigerian) life? You lots never cease to amaze me with this your demonic attachment to Nigerian unity that you hope to share with people who obviously have nothing in common with you, and who you loathe just as much as they loathe you. |
You don't leave an uncompleted building to go build another. What we are going to achieve as a federation is greater than what we all are going to achieve as different federations. Nigeria is not an uncompleted building. Nigeria is a completed building whose foundation was faulty and whose supporting structures were built with inferior substandard materials. She is a disaster waiting to happen to all who inhabit it, she would naturally eventually collapse on them all. Its only remedy is demolition, as nothing can be done to remedy its faulty foundation, building more structures on it will only fasten the day of collapse. |
Patriotism and Nigeria on the same sentence? ![]() Comedy ![]() |
I bet Tekno's Pana song, beats all the tracks in that spotlight album. Can't just stop playing Pana, good video too, Tekno is good. |
His Obianuju , Ahamefula and Jesus bu Eze tracks remain amongst my favourite Nigerian songs. He seem to speak central Igbo, rather than conc Ikwerre dialect in his songs. Though that "Jesus bu Eze" song was dripping Ikwerre all over it, still sounded good. |
Anyway, I think I'm done with this thread. Gbuzienu onwe unu. |

shukuokukobambl:Lol! Funny you are even collaborating my take on your barbaric ways with that Akure incidence. Where your coward useless Oba invited an Igbo community leader for dialogue, only to unleash Yoruboid touts and almajiris on him. Funny enough, my barber here in Enugu is a Yoruba guy, Ade by name, he is a nice man and speaks fluent Igbo language, he told me he and his family grew up in Onitsha. There are many Yorubas in Igboland, but the Igbo society is a capitalism driven one and not a socialism type, people here are more interested in what you have to offer than on where you are from, so you hardly hear about Yoruba communities in Igboland, even though they exist and have community leaders, that no Igbo monarch care about their existence. Nothing is wrong in hawking . It's a lawful means of making a living. We are proud of them all and pray that Chukwu bless their hustle. |
yomexp:No, in simple English, even though this thread was dedicated to showing Yoruba contribution to Nigeria, after 5 pages, you are yet to show the world any of those phantom contributions. Which leads us to the conclusion that Yorubaland of a truth has nothing to contribute. |
yomexp:Lol! Even after 5 pages, Yoruboids are yet to itemize their contribution to the colonial entity. I know it must be frustrating learning that you are useless this way. Don't worry, there will always be an Igbo around here to remind you of your uselessness. Meanwhile, seeing as you have failed to itemize your contributions here, maybe we can return back to the original thread created for this here: https://www.nairaland.com/3327779/what-southwest-contribution-fg-account/6 |
lawani:Yorubaland we all know is a backward primitive enclave, so it's funny hearing you lots speak rubbish. It's parasitism on Arewa-Oduanistans like you forcing Union with Ndiigbo, infact, it's demonic. Igboland is more developed than Yoruba bushlands: https://www.nairaland.com/2031155/enugu-makes-history-joins-worlds https://www.nairaland.com/2576371/eastern-neighbourhoods-streets-made/30 |
shukuokukobambl:We minded our space when we left your cursed mud house infested enclaves of Arewa-Oduanistan to migrate to the East, only for you and your Arewa masters to com's knocking on our doors shouting " one Nigeria". You can't have your cake and eat. Even after Nigeria, some Igbos will still be in Arewa oduanistan, just as Odua people are all over UK, even though Nigeria resisted occupation by Britain, and some Jews are still in Germany today, despite Hitler holocaust. |
shukuokukobambl:Lol! Keep deceiving yourself. Infrastructurally speaking, your mud house infested enclaves of Ogun, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti and Oyo are light years behind SE, despite your loot of the post indigenization windfall. Enugu was still picked as the first Nigerian city to make the resilience city challenge. We can do so much more, once we jettison the excess baggage that Arewa-Odua represents. https://www.nairaland.com/2576371/eastern-neighbourhoods-streets-made/30 https://www.nairaland.com/2031155/enugu-makes-history-joins-worlds |
lawani:Finally, we can agree on something. Ndiigbo are a different people from Arewa-Odua people, and have no point of unity with them, to justify sharing same country with them. |
Henrydone:There is no veto in him, if he and his troops were resisted and ransacked by Yoruba forces from within and Biafran forces led by Banjo from outside. Yes, the casualty will be on the Yoruba civilians, but it will be the price for freedom of Odualand and Biafra. Awo and Yoruba leaders instead decided that it was better to preserve Yoruba civilians lives by accepting the Northern occupation of Yorubaland and joining forces with them to fight off Biafra forces before they enter Yoruba land. It was a strategic decision, but it's one that blows off the nonsense of Yorubas being neutral before Biafran invasion. Cos they weren't. Before Biafran invasion, they were a Nigerian vassal state under the Northern Nigerian military occupation, so by the act of subjugation, they were Nigerians. They were presented the opportunity to change that by joining forces with Biafrans under Banjo command, but they declined the offer, and instead cemented their vassal state status willingly. This is history as we know it in Igboland. |
lawani:"The new Yoruba nation likely to emerge will have Fon and Ewe and probably Bariba states, it will be the giant of Africa. In what way are you better than the Beninoise and the Togolaise" The above was what you wrote. Even though the average Igbo man knows that Yorubas have no iota of plans of forming an independent nation of their own, as you lots are like leeches attached to the dubious one Nigerian project, lip singing Odua republic, yet in your heart of heats, wish Nigeria doesn't disintegrate and that status quo remains. We know all these things. See, you wrote the above, indicating non Yoruba speaking Ethnic groups Yoruba share same warped religious, traditional, intellectual, linguistic ideologies with and should naturally be sharing a nation with. You don't see me an Igbo wondering why you are attaching to those groups, cos I care not about Yoruba or what they do with themselves, as long as my Igbo group don't get to share same country with Yorubas and Arewa, I am Ok. But Yorubas will not stay off Igbo issues. How exactly is it your concern who Ndiigbo are interested in aligning with? Who made you the spokes person for those groups? It's all too funny the hate and attention towards Ndiigbo emanating from Yorubaland. Yet you wonder why RB has stood on the gap to throw your hates right back at you. Right from the days of Akintola and Awolowo, Igboland has suffered hate speeches from Yoruba people, without any reply. But today, we know better. For every single hate speech directed towards Igboland from Oduarewanistan, thousands of hate speeches will be directed towards your camp from Igboland. It's called actions and reactions. |
lawani:Lol! This is why this thread got deserted by Ndiigbo. It gets boring repeating same things over and over again. The Yorubas were happy to allow the North to station in Western Nigeria, Lagos in particular to plan the war against Ndiigbo and Biafra. All the weapons the North were using were shipped in through Yoruba ports that you gladly let them have. Yorubaland was occupied by the Nigerian military top officials from where all plans to attack Biafra from Gakem were hatched, while Awo and Yoruba leaders claimed that Yorubas were too weak to liberate Yorubaland from the Northern soldiers. You let someone stay in your house and throw stones at my house that broke my glass, and you wonder why I headed towards your house to fish out this enemy you so happily harboured and allowed to attack me, in your warped logic, you are innocent even though you refused to throw out this enemy out of your house to show me that you don't support his actions, but rather you expected me to leave you and this enemy in your house to continue throwing stones at my house. The invasion was to sack the Nigerian industrial complex headquarters from Yorubaland where they had camped, because Awo had claimed that Yorubaland did not have enough soldiers to sack the Northerners. Though we know better now, which is the fact that Awo was secretly in support of their occupation of Yorubaland, which is the reason no Igbo man worth his salt takes the Yoruba dubious remarks of wanting a nation of their own serious. We know that all Yorubas want is one Nigeria, for obvious reasons. Why didn't the Westerners enter the war to sack Northerners from your lands, if you truly wanted freedom like you deceive ignorant people? For your info, Yoruba accommodating northern presence in Yorubaland translates to only one thing, you were in support of their invasion of Biafra, and nobody right here is fooled with the story of Yorubas being neutral until before the Biafra invasion of Nigeria. Yorubas were part and parcel of Nigeria and were involved in the Aburi deliberations as Nigerians, so I wonder what neutrality you speak of. Lol! Yorubaland is mainly nupe, dahomey, Fulani, Hausa and Bini enclave. Oduduwa, a Bini son brought civilization to primitive Bush and barbaric Yoruba people, they even rule Lagos up till today, they gave Yorubas the word "Oba", the Lagos and Ife royalty are all Bini people who just learnt Yoruba language, many Yorubas today are actually Hausa and Fulani people, who invaded the land, met primitive useless Yoruba clans and introduced Islamic civilization and principles to them, they were even the ones who gave Yorubas a common name, "Yariiiba" translating to Barbaric people, which later got corrupted to Yoruba, Yoruba/ Yarijiba has no meaning in Yoruba language and no Yoruba town bears that name. The Rest of Yoruba people are nupes who ransacked Katunga and reigned over primitive Yoruba tribes for decades, in the process they got assimilated into Yoruba language and culture, to retain power, as they were minorities. Just as the Fulani and Hausa people who populate Kwara today, but speak Yoruba, and has Yoruba culture, that Yorubas even erroneously mis label them as Yorubas had assimilated into Yoruba language and culture, it doesn't make them Yorubas. Perhaps this mismatch of people of different origins in the primitive Yorubaland was the reason they were all bitter towards each other and was at each other's throat fighting local fatal battles and had to beg the British to colonize them all, if only to bring Peace to the land, as the primitive Yorubas didn't evolve enough socially to learn the delicate act of peace and conflict resolutions via dialogues and negotiations. You are silly. You were but a vassal state in 1967-70, and had no hand in that war. Your region was occupied by a Fulani-HaUSA force that manipulated you to its will, which it self was under the British manipulation, but nevertheless, used you as they wished, and you think you can speak before free people that actually fought a war? You are pathetic. |
It would appear most regular Igbo handles here are all under ban. This type of gagging of Igbo voices to enable Odua ones run amok here with falsehoods and propaganda is all too funny. Nairaland is not the only means or outlet of debunking these Odua lies, so I would advise the Yorubas mods here take things easy and make room for balanced views here. |
lawani:You must be kidding. You lend your region to your Muslim Northern brothers to use as launching pad to attack Biafra, and you are asking why we marched to your region? As for the Midwest, the principal actors in Biafra like Achuzia were Midwesterners themselves. Midwest contained the Western Igbolands. It was always going to be dragged into the war, as Nzeogwu himself though Igbo was a Midwesterner. |
lawani:Ndiigbo don't collaborate more with Yorubas more other Nigerian groups. Ndiigbo collaborate with Yorubas than other Nigerian groups is a product of Yoruba delusions that often give rise to this demonic attachment to Ndiigbo by you lots. Truth is that the Igbo man is a free spirit, he naturally collaborates with any people everywhere he goes. My grandfather was an ezendigbo in an Hausa northern state in the sixties, all his children and him Speak perfect Hausa language, that's the way of the Igbo. I have relatives in Cameroon, they come home every Xmas, mosr of them are now married to Cameroonian women and speak Cameroonian local languages. It's the way of the Igbo man, we adapt to whereever we are found, it does not in anyway mean that we want to share a nation with those people. We have Igbo communities everywhere in Africa. That we desire a nation of our own, does not mean that we hate those nation where we have Igbo communities, all that we all want desert those nations to migrate to this new nation when it's formed. It simply means that we want a place to call our own, where we can bring out out ingenuity unhindered by bitter envious Nigeria groups, where we could let our imaginative minds run free, unhindered by the toxic atmosphere created in Nigeria by the Arewa-Odua. It doesn't mean we hate Yorubas or Arewas. You are silly if you think that you will accept and accommodate your Arewa Muslim brothers to station in your region and launch attack on Igboland without Ndiigbo marching to your land. Ojukwu made mistake of sending a Yoruba soldier, next time when you open up your cursed region for Arewa to station and launch attack on Igboland, it will be an Igbo commander bent on vengeance and with great venom that will come knocking on your door, he won't come waving white flag like Banjo did. Nothing like develop your space. We have no point of convergence with Yorubas and no business sharing a country with you lots. Our life ideology, political inclination and cultural values are divergent. We are simply different people. Yes I agree with you on this point.. Total separation from Arewa and Odualand is the future of Igboland. ![]() |
lawani:Whatever. The Igbo ultimate desire is that Yorubas focus more energy into building this phantom nation of theirs, and stop all the venom they vomit at the mention of Biafra. They should leave Ndiigbo alone and focus more on their own phantom independent odua nation fight and stop ovulation at the mention of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu or any such Igbo/ Biafra related things. |
They hate yoruba and yet a day can never pass without a bus load of Ekene Dili Ckuhkwu entering SW with some refugee looking people with red mud filled sandals. They hate northerners and yet Zik formed govt with Balewa, Ekwueme was Shagari's VP, Arthur Nzeribe assisted IBB to annul June 12 and Daniel Kanu ran the Youth Earnestly Asked for Abacha's Campaign YEAA. They developed Lagos, Kano, PH, Abuja, London, NYC, HK and yet their homeland is in a deplorable conditions. No wonder Indonesians, Malaysians, Indians etc are refusing their ''developmental'' help. Lol! Ekenedilil chukwu business won't be profitable if he runs back from Lagos to the East empty. Just as the bus is full of passengers from East to Lagos, likewise is it full of passengers from Lagos to East. It's a Two way thing. Lagos has monopolistic grip on the nation's port and aviation, everyone is forced to visit Lagos to bring in goods and other necessities, not even the mud house dwellers in the bushland enclaves of Ogun, Osun, Oyo, Ekiti and Ondo are spared. They all troop to Lagos too on daily basis. This is how Lagos survives and booms. We don't visit Lagos because we love or hate Lagos, it's all about business. Well, If Awo wasn't such a treacherous being, Zik wouldn't have been pushed to form alliance with Balewa. Ekwueme wasn't Igbos main candidate in 1979, Zik was. Just as Ekwueme was Shagari's VP, so was An Igbo Awolowo's VP, it was politics, we were forced to be part of Nigeria, by Yorubas and Arewa at the expense of our blood, it wasn't Ekwueme's fault that Awo was a serial loser who was yet again rejected at the polls by Nigerians. It was Yoruba greedy Obas and elders who collected money from IBB and sold the thief Abiola out, you can as well one day blame Ndiigbo for Oduduwa being chased out of heaven by God. This is Igboland, it's only in deplorable state in the Yoruboid delusional mind: https://www.nairaland.com/2576371/eastern-neighbourhoods-streets-made/30 |
lawani:Lol! Japan is highly technological nation and even a military world power until after the second world war. Comparing it to Yorubaland that is currently standing last in education and academics in Southern Nigeria is yet again another exhibition of Yoruba delusions. Lol! Spin it anyway you like, USA is still in business today because of her military might. The Dollar is her property, she manipulates anyway she likes within limits. Which lands in west Africa? The Yorubas in Benin republic are minorities there, and they are poor. The ones in Nigeria are hanging unto the monopolistic grip on the port activities in Nigeria to survive, and are neck deep in debt with nothing to tie the debts to except hope that Nigeria remains United for decades more. |
SuperS1Panther:If only you can provide a valid document where Ndiigbo forced Yoruba into Nigerian project? Yorubaland wild wild west it was that Set the Nigerian political climate ablaze with blood day light murder and death. Ademoyega a Yoruba man was part and parcel of Nzeogwu coup. You are silly. 3 million souls were not lost in Syria, Tamil, Angola and Colombia, because the government were not demonic enough to blockade the civilian population from access to food and medical supplies. They were not bombing market places where civilians gather, they were not bombing homes where old men, women and children were staying, they were not bombing hospitals where the sick resided like you demons did in Biafra. The death of 3 million Biafran civilians is a testament of the demonic nature of Yorubas and Arewa, only matched by Hitler, and not a sign of Biafran military inferiority,as Biafran military loss only 1/3 soldiers as Nigerian incompetent soldiers who then took their frustration on Innocent Biafran citizens. |
Alfaab:I'm yet to see SW contribution to Nigerian economy given on this thread. Apart from the Lagos port and MMIA which we had been shown from time to time to be more of Yoruba gain from Nigeria, than actual contribution to Nigeria. And then Dangote and foreign investments, which proximity of Yorubaland to the Lagos port and MMIA attracted to her. Other than that. You lots are yet to prove anything else on this thread, other than the usual Yoruba delusions of grandeur, which is getting increasingly boring debunking, and I suspect is the reason most Igbos had ignored this thread. |
SuperS1Panther:You need a brain transplant Surgery. USA has a military complex with which she uses to invade foreign nations and force them to either part away with their natural resources or to continue using Dollar as means of forex. Thanks to having its currency used in world trade, USA can print as much Dollar as it wants. Yorubaland has no military complex to invade resource rich countries and entrench imperialism. She is not rich in natural resources, her currency is not used as world trade currency. Its stupidity to start comparing Odua land and her debt with USA, the appropriate example should be GREECE, ,even that will be a stretch, seeing as Greece has a better infrastructure than Odualand. |
shukuokukobambl:Lol @ FG oweing Ogun N200BN200B , Borrow your future away and squander your funds in the name of building FG infrastructures in Ogun and hope the FG pays you for your looted funds in the future. Lol! From whose pocket? ![]() |
rlauncher:You are a jellyfish. Investments in SE are mainly indigenous investments which is why you have more money in Circulation in SE than in SW, the money is indigenous and stays within the region, those in Ogun are mainly multinationals and the money don't circulate within the indigenous population. The oil and gas in SS are natural resources that yield direct revenue to the FG. |
Cool.
