I said igbinni and you're respelling it. now I know you don't know anything. koeller talked about how the igbos were not born there but are slaves gotten from the hinterlands. and you want koeller to mention to you that bonnys are ijohs when you see the language which also Talley's with ajayi crowther. e be like say you no read understand very well. ok, where did the white man wrote that Igbo sprung from Aguleri? so you're waiting for a foreigner to tell you so abi? ode. I am not of the ijo clan itself, and I and every other people here still tell you we sprung from ijo; bro you should be worried. I am a Nembe man. we all trace our ORIGIN to ijo, same as the igbos trace there's to Aguleri even though a white man didn't write that to you you dunce. that same "MOTHER TONGUE" is what is spoken in Calabari but you're still arguing blindly like a bull pig. I am sure you haven't been to Bonny. so igbos who you claim hate the waters but chose lands for farming will now migrate to swampy place the same you claimed they hated mosquitoes and the sickness in the swamp. nigga your lies smell through nairaland and my phone. even Bahia a town in Brazil where Yoruba slaves were mostly shipped to by the Portuguese and today there's a large black population there, they speak Yoruba, they do IFA divination and rituals but never has the yorubas grabbed Bahia from the people; imagined if it were Igbos, your clowns will cook stories on how they built ships and migrated there before the Brazilians themselves. I am still waiting for you to explain to me how you beat the Aborigines to an island who have that same island at their backyard, no be juju be that? explain to me your lieng dunce. it is clear, [b]koeller saying the igbos who were there were SLAVES and were brought from the hinterlands, and they adopted the Bonny dialect. crowther and pepple said Bonny is CHIEFLY PEOPLED by IBO SLAVES though they speak the Bonny dialect WHICH IS ALSO THE LANGUAGE SPOKEN IN NEW CALABAR (CALABARI) if Bonny is ndoki language, can we now say the language spoken in Calabari is NDOKI [b]

I am having problem uploading excerpt from Dr koeller who was a medical doctor at Bonny, but I will type it here. "the Bonny language is THE MOTHER TONGUE of only a section of the Bonny people; for OTHERS it is only an adopted language, for a large part of the coastal people especially bonny CONSISTS OF SLAVES WHO ARE PURCHASED OR SEIZED by other tribes, sometimes from a great distance. MOST OF THESE PEOPLE WHO WERE NOT BORN IN BONNY ARE EITHER SLAVES FROM IGBO LAND or were ATLEAST BROUGHT HERE by igbos FROM THE INTERIOR. There too is where most of the Bonny canoes go to purchase provisions for the coastal dwellers... THEY CALL IBO LAND IGBINNI. it lies at the source of the delta and is full of great forests and mighty trees. it is very rich in natural products such as yam, maize, rice, palm oil.... The igbos were a rapacious people and the Bonny people usually say 'ibo man Wawa too much' which translates to IBO man is very wicked"
that above is from Dr koeller.
crowther and pepple also said Bonny is CHIEFLY PEOPLED by IBO SLAVES. Bonny dialect is the main spoken language by the Bonny people, and the Igbo slaves also speak the Bonny language which is also the language of new calabar"
that also tallies with koellers statement which also said bonny language is the mother tongue but for others (IGBO) it is AN ADOPTED LANGUAGE.
my statements has never contradicted itself unlike you clowns. one of you said igbos avoided the waters because of the mosquito etc when someone made a thread about igbos and their phobia for water, but you same clowns say igbos are marine people in Bonny, no be mumu be that?? we know the truth.
infact I can bet my balls you and the other clowns haven't been to Bonny before, but pulled up a stupid map that shows Igbo Territory, but Bonny is far of and landlocked by another Ethnic group. you all are foolish liars. it's like skipping Togo and then claiming Ghana when Togo is between you and Ghana. mega lies. continue in your stupidity, that is how one who haven't been to Nembe claimed Nembe spoke Igbo. fool. go to Bonny and find out yourself instead of hiding behind a faceless forum from your dungeons in Alaba. Where in the write up did Koller say that Bonny was peopled by Ijaws? Just show me one place he said so? All you have done is bit around the bush. Your Koller noted also that Bonny people called Igbos "Igbinni"(Igbanni?) What do you think about this There is no lie in our argument. We have presented all receipts, and you have none but to beat around the bush. Yes! The slaves in Bonny were mainly Igbos, but they were not of Ndoki origin, they were of Isu origin. The Igbo spoken in Bonny is not Isu, it's Ndoki. Because Bonny always had Indigenous Igbo speaking people of Ndoki extraction who had taken a distinct ethnicity of just "Bonny". |

See another quote on Igbo democratic principles: "True democrats, no one was better than themselves but yet they were somehow better than anyone else. This self-assurance was sometimes a little frightening. The Ibo men and women are so continually in the right and so busy proving that everyone else is in the wrong. They want to learn from us but only such things as may be materially productive as soon as possible. They tolerate us because they need us. They do not look upon us resentfully as conquerors but complacently as stepping-stones. What will happen when they can, or think they can mount it alone and no further use of the stepping-stones, no one can tell." . Igboid: GOD BLESS OKPOGHO PEOPLE IN EZEAGU LGA OF ENUGU STATE - THE RED GOLD OF AFRICA!!!!!!
Okpogho an ancient city of Igbo land, is an iron- smelting community in Ezeagu Lga that gave West Africa the first metallic currency known as Okpogho Manila.
The innovation of this ancient metallic currency-ego igwe/ona was attributed to a great wawa man from the present Ezeagu Igbudu LGA. The name Okpogho which is the Efik fishermen's term for money or brass was given to this wawa iron maker; when people noticed that those precious bangles which he fashioned for his daughter Mgbolie could be used as a means of exchange of goods and services.
The early Portuguese explorers of the 1470s observed that copper bangles "okpogho Manila" were the principle money all along the West Africa coast.
The people of Okpogho will dig iron out of the ground and melt copper out of the stones to make a okpogho bangle. Through this process, the first metallic currency was introduced.
Thus, the ancient monetization of the precolonial Ezeagu economy by Okpogho people brought international trade to Ezeagu area earlier than the 15th century.
Since Okpogho Manila became the means of exchange, marketing activities took place among Ezeagu communities themselves and went to far countries like Mali, Cameroon, Burundi and Congo where Okpogho Manila had sphere of influence. In its inception, these bangle or Okpogho were predominantly made from copper as copper was referred to as " THE RED GOLD OF AFRICA ".
The name Manila is derived from Spanish for a bracelet manella, the Portuguese for hand-ring or after the Latin Manu's(hand) or from monilia, plural of monile(necklace).
God bless HRH Igwe Apostle Chimereze Linus Pius!
God bless Chief Christian Chris Okpoko Isiakwu 1 of Okpogho!

SlayerForever: I think the Ada and Eben every Oba uses as symbol of authority was made by Oka smiths. Haha! I suspect this . But we need to bring evidence. Strong irrefutable ones. The type we brought to that Bonny thread. We are a Great race, but we have kept quiet for too long, so much that everyone around us have started taking our greatness for granted. Our ancestors achieved alot that we are not being given credit for today. We have to start telling our stories ourselves. For example, do you know that the money called "Manilla" used in the slave trade era as money, was invented by the Igbo. Yet if you go to Wikipedia page, you see that they listed Calabar as the origin of Manilla. This is because the colonials first saw Manilla at Calabar slave ports being used by Aros and Efiks for exchange of slaves . And in error, they accredited Calabar with the money. Even When Efiks are not known as blacksmiths, they have no iron ore minning sites in Efik land, so how could they have invented Manilla. Moreover even in Efik, Manilla is called Okpoho. Guess what? Okpoho is the name of Igbo blacksmith town in modern day Ezeagu LGA Enugu State where Manilla was traditionally minted and circulated all over Igboland and beyond. Okpoho people were like the CBN of Ancient Igboland, minting Okpoho aka "Ego-Igwe". Manilla is so Ancient to Igboland that it was even found among the materials buried in Igbo ukwu. We have alot of misinformation about Ndiigbo to correct. |

What still marvels me however is that there hasn't been a single article linking Bonny with Ijaw in all of this. Yes, that part where he said that Bonny Indigenes refered to Igbos as "Igbanni" got me confused as well. |
