Politics › Re: Pre-biafra War: Obafemi Awolowo’s Speech To Western Nigeria Leaders Of Thought by IgOga(m): 1:47pm On Jan 21, 2022
gidgiddy:
Lagos was never actually part of the western region. Lagos had a special status as the administrative capital separate from the regions same way Abuja is the administrative capital separate from the 36 states.

Different people think different things about Awolowo. Most Igbos like me think that Awolowo was a coward of a man and a war criminal who led his ethnic group into northern bondage because he didn't have the guts to do what Ojukwu did. Generally, most Igbos highly detest Awolowo same way most Yorubas detest Ojukwu. I guess one persons hero is another persons villain. Whatever happens, Awolowo and Ojukwu will always be loved by their respective ethnic groups but it does show that we are very different people.
lol...you think Awolowo should have committed to war...how? Was he commanding any military? NO....Ojukwu on the other hand was in government and a soldier and commands troops. Awolowo could see that the might of the Nigerian Army will overwhelm the Biafra Army.... so he stayed out of it....maybe your anger should be against the likes of Obasanjo and Buhari, but then they were in the Nigerian Army and fighting for the country they swore to protect. You should blame the man who took you to war and escaped leaving you to suffer the consequences. Ojukwu told you he regretted the war before he died yet it was Awolowo's fault in your view.

Great people of this forum, honestly things have never been better ever since that incident and I wish our minds are like show glass so that y'all would see how sorry I am inside of me. I messed up and I'm really sorry.

5 days after I created that post above, My wife traveled with my daughter to her parents house to stay without telling me. Since that incident my wife haven't said a word to me, Not a single word. Sometimes I wonder if she's the same woman I married. I'm frustrated, incoherent and I'm losing my mind.

I've been good to her, I provide 85% for my family while she bring just 15% yet I don't complain, I'm romantic and good looking, since we married I don't keep female friends not to talk of cheating. Yet She denied me sex over 2 months without any reasons, that was why I acted that way and I'm so sorry.

On Tuesday here, My friend and I traveled to her parents house, they did not even welcome us well, I don't know what she must have told her parents but I explained myself, knelt down and asked for forgiveness.

She refused to come home with me, her parents were just starring at me like I'm some demon, I requested for my daughter but she refused to release her and I've already paid my daughter's school fees for the term. Her parents said they would register my daughter in a new school, that my wife need some space for now.

Please don't call me a weak man, I'm family oriented, I don't want broken home, if she needed some space that's not a problem, I can give her all the space in the world but let her come home. It's not proper raising a child in a broken home...I'm really losing my mind.

I faced query today at work because I traveled without informing my Boss which I know he won't allow me and I know how much would be deducted from my salary. what I'm going through now I can't wish my enemies and I wish I could turn back the hands of time. I messed up.

Beloveth Pls I need advice.
You need to relax....no need to be anxious about the situation. It is true that for most humans we don't get our wishes....you need to embrace the reality in which you are currently living.
1. You wronged your wife by your actions - that you cannot change
2. You have asked for forgiveness
3. She needs some time to process it all - give her time
4. You are concerned about your daughter potentially growing up in a broken home - If your wife decided that she wants a divorce based on your action, the court will not allow you to have custody of your daughter ( it's a safeguarding issue) because you are a potential risk to the female gender
5. Start thinking about the worst case scenario and how you will move on with your own life.
6. Stop blaming yourself - it doesn't solve any problems
7. Sop posting on nairaland - You can be prosecuted for that
8. Start living again

I think Osinbajo is the most favourable in the South to win the elections but he's being too slow and looking weak each passing day he doesn't declare his intentions.

APC convention is next month and Tinubu Support Group has started canvassing based on the fact their principal has declared his intention. Imagine going to a convention and delegates don't consider the VP a serious contender.

Investigative:
I’ve been receiving threat messages for not supporting Tinubu’s ambition –Ojudu
The Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Babafemi Ojudu, says he has been receiving threat messages from “irritants” for declaring that he won’t support the presidential ambition of All Progressives Congress National Leader, Bola Tinubu.
Ojudu stressed that his decision not to support Tinubu was based on personal conviction, adding that any coercion to do otherwise would not be democratic.
In a statement on Tuesday, Ojudu, who works in the Office of the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), said his refusal to support the presidential aspiration of the former Lagos State governor should not portray him as a betrayer.
According to the statement titled, ‘Principled Political Choices are not Betrayal’, the presidential aide said though he had benefited from Tinubu’s kindness in the past, he was not made by the APC leader.
Ojudu wrote, “The idea that everyone who has related with Tinubu and disagrees with him on this Presidential bid is a traitor and a betrayal is puerile. Many of us, his associates, were not made by him as you also want the world to believe.
“We were already made before meeting him and in the cause of relating we gave one another a helping hand… So, on this matter of 2023 I wish him (Tinubu) well but I cannot in good conscience give him my support or cast my vote for him in the coming primary. It is my right. I am above 60 years of age for God sake. I almost died seeking this inalienable democratic rights, held up in detention and severally tortured. Your god is not my god.
“Let no one think he can browbeat or blackmail me to do what does not go with my conscience or my ideals. Enough of your phone threats and embarrassment of my family members.”

“For the irritants who have been sending threat messages to me and members of my family or calling to abuse me for not supporting Tinubu, do know that is not democracy. It is something else. I spent my youth years fighting autocracy and intolerance of the military and I am still willing and ready, even now, to stand up for what I believe, even if it will cost me my life. Enough said,” he added.

Ojudu lies to gain relevance. He thrusted himself into the yoruba agitation by telling a porky of how Chief Sunday Igboho was a thug.

However you don't make progress in life by paying attention to distractors and what yorubas call "ariwo oja"

While Bode George continues to write his weekly lamentation, Tinubu continues to pursue his presidential ambition....And of all courageous enough to declare so far Tinubu has a better chance of winning his party's primary. Bode George would make good use of his energy by focusing on PDP presidential primary.

Christianity Etc › Married Christian Couple On Trial For Adultery by IgOga(op): 7:51pm On Jan 16, 2022
A married couple in Sudan is on trial for adultery as the result of a legal case brought by the wife's family following a twisted story line that developed because of a pro-Muslim law.

The report about the situation facing Hamoda Teya Kaffi and his wife, Nada Hamad Koko, comes from the worldwide Christian ministry CSW.
It explains the couple's trial is going on – and has been for some weeks already, in Gezira State.

The dispute arose in 2018 when Koko's family found out that her husband, Kaffi, had converted from Islam to Christianity. The family filed for a divorce on behalf of Koko, based on the law that bans a Muslim woman from being married to a non-Muslim man, and it was granted.
She then returned to her family with the couple's children, a son, now 5, and a daughter, now 3.

Then in August of last year "she decided to reunite with Mr. Kaffi," the report said.
Which prompted her family to file the criminal case, triggering police to arrest them and the general prosecutor to file an adultery case.

"Since there is now no penalty for changing one's faith following the decriminalization of apostasy in July 2020, Ms. Koko informed the prosecutor that she had also converted to Christianity," CWS reported.

"This renders her a non-Muslim under the law, and allows her to marry another non-Muslim. Nevertheless, the prosecutor deemed her conversion unacceptable, and the criminal case has proceeded to trial," the report said.

CSW explained the situation is similar to that of Meriam Ibrahim, the Christian woman who faced trial for both apostasy and adultery in 2014. The court ruled that she was a Muslim due to her father’s religious identity and despite the fact she had never practiced Islam. Her marriage to her Christian husband was annulled, and both parties were found guilty of adultery.

Mervyn Thomas, CWS founder, said, "We are deeply concerned by the criminal prosecution of Ms. Koko and Mr. Kaffi, whose case highlights the fact that the failure to reform Sudan’s legal landscape has opened the door to legal harassment.

"We call for the immediate dismissal of criminal charges against this couple, and urge further legal reform to ensure that the right to freedom of religion or belief, including the right to change one’s religion or belief, is fully guaranteed to every Sudanese citizen."

He warned, "The fact that these cases are being prosecuted in the context of the military coup and a state of emergency illustrates the military’s objective of systematically obstructing and reversing the progressive advances made during the transitional period."

Thandiubani:
A Nigerian man has raised alarm after he was reportedly chased away from a branch of the Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG) because of his full beard.

The incident happened in Aba, Abia state.

It was gathered that the man chased away was supposed to be the best man of another member of the church holding his wedding ceremony in the church.

Explaining what happened in the video, the man in the company of a woman said he was chased out of the church because of his beard.

He even mentioned that he was once a leader at another RCCG branch and they did not discriminate against the beard.
