What need to understand about GUNs in the USA, it's like your right to vote, right to life, and so on, it's enshrined in their constitution,the agency in charge which is the NRA na big fish in the country. You can't take ppl's gun away, it's like you're asking for their lives, that said. Gun violence wasn't rampant like this in the past. They should look inward and see what's went wrong. The media, government, that country is messed up. We are not even talking about gang related killings here o, bro it's complicated make we just dey read their news.

Most of this is wrong.
1.) Before the "individual rights theory" took hold by Conservatives on the Supreme Court it was understood that the 2nd Amemndment didn't guarantee gun rights to individuals but to states via militias. So, in that past "assault weapons" were regulated. As the supreme court court more conservative they interpreted the 2nd amendment to mean an individual right to guns and kept interpreting the 2nd amendment to restrict regulations.

Text of the 2nd amemndment.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."

2.) The NRA is a private organization or lobbying group. Their power is derived only in their ability to lobby (bribe) conservative legislators/Republicans.

3.)Other countries are more liberal than the US and have less gun deaths. It's not the culture but the easy access to weapons.

This is part of Harlon Crows statement on his tuition payments for Justice Thomas's grandnephew. Now remember Justice Thomas is a supreme court Justice who at times he and his wife made close to 1 million dollars a year.

Thomas' corruption story gets worse. If the Republican Party were a real governing party, Thomas would resign. This amounted to about ~$6,200 a month which was ~$150,000 in gifts for this tuition over 2 years. I wonder if he declared this on his taxes. Yes, once you turn 18 years in Swiss, you are automatically allow to have a gun.
Gun is normal in Swiss, reason they are always neutral and German Nazi never invaded Swiss.

There is 1 gun for every 4 people in Switzerland. And that rate is decreasing. The US has 125 guns for every 100 people. And the Switzerland Gun Laws are way more restrictive/stricter than in the US.

The US has much less stressors and a functioning legal system compared to Nigeria and look what legalized guns have caused compared to other countries. Legalizing weapons would be a curse on Nigeria.

Edit: I'm going to revise this. Given how bad thing are in Nigeria as is, in the short term it may be a good thing for Nigeria. May allow the populace to be on more equal footing with the government and demand more accountability.

This is a creation of Republicans, the NRA and the conservative Supreme Court which read the 2nd amendment in such a way that basically made it illegal to restrict gun ownership.

When assault rifles were banned, gun deaths went down. We don't even have to guess, just compare the US to any other "developed' country that doesn't have readily available/legal guns. And add that in with States passing "Stand your Ground" Laws, it's more of a disaster in the making.
