Kingspin:I think this quote is the problem. Nobody is perfect, but we have to expect better from our leaders. And remember, we get the government we deserve. And your blinding support for an evil person like Trump shows why we have the leaders in Nigeria we do. As to Abortion, the US isn't a Christian country, and freedom of religion is enshrined in our Constitution. And there is a belief that Abortion restrictions stem from people's faith. I'm Christian, don't believe in Abortion, but also don't believe it's my right to dictate to anyone what to do with their body. Outside of trying everything to empower a woman to keep a baby, the rest is between them and God. So, the debate isn't about abortion per se, it's whether you feel someone has ultimate control of their own body. |
Kingspin:Not disrespect, but not exactly sure what you are saying here. Trump is a narcissistic megalomaniac. What did he do wrong? That question is so extensive I can't even start here. But do a quick google search. He will go down as the WORST president in US History by far! He wasn't good for America or the World. Look at even his immigration policy with Nigeria. At first blush as an American, you would say yeah, he's putting America first. But, those who can immigrate to the US are generally a self selected group. Ex. Nigerians is the US are the most educated immigrants in the US. Why would you want to discourage that type of immigration? Think of all the ideas, business, Medical advances the US loses out on by that. The jingoism sounds good, but the policy behind it has terrible impacts. |
jaxxy:Prove Obama posts just as much as Trump. We have to be able to have discussions with a common slate of facts. |
IBILEmayweather:What did you think Trump did that put the US first? Do you think anybody wants to put their country 2nd? A lot of his rhetoric is jingoistic. And that's tends to be a tell tale for bad things to follow. And unfortunately Trump left a terrible legacy for world, which directly will effect Nigeria. Think of all the Strong men and despots who will use his words and actions to justify their actions. Look at what happened after the Lekki massacre and his reaction (nothing) and the cries of fake news Nigeria used to whitewash their actions. |
What are we even talking about here? People who run a private business (cow hearding) feel they have the right to graze on peoples private land? If you can't sustain your private business, you should get out of it. |
Jeromejnr:You seem like the only brainwashed one. Forming mouth about things in the US, while sitting in Nigeria. Slave owners had sex and children with their slaves, did that make them not racist? No, they saw their slaves as just that, slaves, or tools to be used at their desire. I feel sad for you brother, how inescapably brainwashed you are, that you don't even know what a racist person looks like. You should be ashamed and apologizing that you supported Trump. You should sit with yourself and figure out the weaknesses in your character that allowed you to be soo bamboozled into supporting such a rotten irredeemable Person like Trump, or maybe worse that you knew he was so rotten and irredeemable of a person yet still supported him. Neither says anything good about you, your character, nor your ability at discernment. Trump has been impeached twice, may be convicted (with the help of his fellow Republicans) is being shunned by mostly everyone in the US and around the world, will go down as probably the WORST US President in history, yet you, sitting probably somewhere in your village across the world, still stand up to be counted as his supporter. Kudos to you!!! Bravo!! Edit: You know what, When the Capital was breached two weeks ago, one of the insurrections, marched through the Capital with a confederate flag, you know the flag that represents the part of the country that waged war on the other half so they could continue to enslave people who looked like you and I. And for the first time in History, not during our civil war, not ever, that flag was flown in the US Capital building. And what did Trump do after, he said "We Love You" to those same people. Be better! |
crystalpapers:Sharrrup. We are literally watching the Capital Building breached while the VP and the Speaker of the House were inside because of Trump and you are saying Trump's bad image is based on the media? Sharrup. And fyi, Clinton was impeached because of an extramarital affair. |
Fighting inside the Capitol https://twitter.com/i/status/1346909370777358336 |
Trump needs to be impeached even if he is leaving office soon. https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1346908211350294542 |
fortran12:Watching a hearing put on by some Republicans in a committee room isn't doing research yourself. That hearing is inherently biased which you don't seem to grasp. They had witnesses there who weren't under oath. Ask yourself why they didn't put them under oath? What evidence did you see? Did you do research where that "evidence" came from? Doing your own research is downloading the video and watching it in it's entirety and following up each aspect of it. You know, what trained journalists do. Doing your research is not watching some BS clip on youtube. Honestly, I think your Nuts. Trump endorsed the Gov. of Georgia before he was Govorner, and when he disagrees with Turmp he's a RINO now? Trump selected Bill Barr as the Attorney General, but when he came out to say there was no fraud he is now a RINO? It's easy to dismiss those who disagree with you.. innit? As with most Trump supporters, you seem emotionally invested in believing his con. I'm done with this, You should probably visit Parler and socialize with those with like minds. |
fortran12:Trump is a Republican, the audit was done by Republicans in the state of Georgia. You tell me why Republicans are going to lie about the audit. Your arguments are ridiculous. |
fortran12:You saw a clip of a video that was played for you. Why don't you do your own research, find the whole thing and watch it. I assure you I've watched it and all the stuff you are repeating here are lies. Here is an investigation which debunks the "alleged fraud". Honestly, you shouldn't outsource your mind to other people. https://twitter.com/i/status/1334998433954979840 https://www.11alive.com/article/news/politics/elections/fact-checking-claims-about-fulton-countys-election/85-89c150d2-c917-44b6-b7ab-a29dd9dcb888 I assume you're in Nigeria. Why don't you spend your energy working on Naija issues instead of spreading debunked conspiracy theories about US elections? |
fortran12:My man, when I first saw the clip of the video weeks ago, I thought, wow that looks bad. But something was off. This would be MASSIVE fraud if that were the case. Something our FBI would easily be investigating. And why would they be so brazen to do this KNOWING everything in those rooms were being taped. So, off to GOOGLE I went. I found a great article where the Georgia Secretary of State allowed a local news channel to come in and watch the full tape of that day(the tape where that clip came from) with one of the State Investigators. Like all things in life you need perspective. 2 quick things: 1.) Normal procedure was that they put ballots under the table until they are ready to be counted. They are then removed from under the table then removed from the bags and then counted. You can actually see them dragging in the black bag with the room full earlier in the day. 2.) The black bags were actually what ALL the ballots were stored in. They are the OFFICIAL means of keeping those ballots. So, no fraud found. Just people trying to manipulate people who have less sense. I would post the story, but I'm not going to do the work for you. If you care about your credibility you should Google and see the actual FULL clip(I've given you enough of the key words to search with). I know data is expensive in Nigeria, but you should be careful who distills the information you get. |
fortran12:Yes and Georgia did a signature audit in one of the contested counties last week. Surprise Surprise... 99.99% accuracy. And the 2 issues. The 2 issues were actual voters who intended to vote. Don't believe me GOOGLE is your friend. Anything else? There comes a point where you have to accept the truth for what it is. |
fortran12:Again, you understand that in most a hearing was held, then the case was thrown out, in others, it was just thrown out based on the briefs that were filed. That's the point I am trying to make to you. They did not meet the threshold in the initial hearing or based on the briefs filed(either by law or evidence presented). Here in one incident. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2020/11/11/trump-lawyers-suffer-embarrassing-rebukes-judges-over-voter-fraud-claims/ Again, do more research my friend. And we are talking about the video where they pulled the ballots from under the table right? Listen, the Dominion stuff is particularly stupid. The election machines are backed up by paper ballots. You vote, you get a paper ballot and you turn it in. The election machines just help tabulate the votes. If the machines were tampered with the paper ballots would not match. They did a hand recount of all the paper ballots in Georgia. The hand recount of the paper ballots matched the count form the machines, |
LordReed:With the exception being on laws that affect Federal issues. Election law isn't one as the constitution explicitly leaves that to the state. But, the conservative Supreme Court is trying to make a narrower argument that the constitution leaves election law strictly up to the legislatures and even State Supreme courts can't amend them. The Texas suit was SHIT both in the law and the facts in it. The fact that Texas filed it and Republican House members supported it is depressing. |
Nuel4:You can find anything online. Don't put too much stock in things that you can't verify yourself. Trump is the President of the US with access to the preeminent investigative agency in the world (the FBI) and a Justice department stocked with people he chose(Bill Barr). Ask yourself why some guy on the internet found this but the FBI didn't and Trump's DOJ hasn't investigated/prosecuted. There is an argument that we deserve the governments we have. You are in a Nigeria surrounded by corrupt politicians who put their own interests ahead of the country and you like who Trump is and what he does? You wonder why Nigeria is in the trouble it is. I see Trump and see a Nigerian politician and see the amount of people that still support him and can understand how a country like Nigeria is. I don't want that for the US. |
fortran12:Put everything you wrote in google. Instead of watching the edited video, watch the full video (there is a full video of that incident). Instead of reading a clip or someone's opinion of the lawsuit, read the lawsuit that was filed. Instead of reading a clip of a judicial opinion. Read the opinion yourself. I promise when you do, you'll understand how the truth doesn't match up to what you wrote here or what you believe. FYI: Any lawsuit has to meet a threshold question. I can't just sue you and ask the court for some relief because I believe something. I have to come into court with evidence or proof that there is harm and that the court can/is allowed to provide relief for that harm, if they can't the cases are dismissed. Listen to some of the hearings (some have been released). Some are actually funny in the ridiculousness of the Trump lawyers. |
LordReed:Well, I don't believe the framers of the constitution intended that. But one of the members of our new conservative court recently in a decision opined that only the legislature can decide election laws based on a very strict reading of the constitution. Seems wholly irrational (as most things done by this conservative court) as the point of the judiciary is to decide whether legislative actions are legal and hue to the state constitution. Ex. if a state legislature decided it was legal only for white males to vote. The state judiciary should strike that down. |
Novartis:Electoral college doesn't work that way. The electoral college was a compromise to give slave owning southern states more power so that they would stay in the union. It elects the president not on a popular vote, but people in each state vote for electors to vote in their stead. And each candidate has their own slate of electors. In fact up until last year when the Supreme Court ruled on it(unfaithful electors), there was no surety the electors had to vote the way the state wanted to or they were elected to. And the division of these electors is not in relation to the population. California has 55 electors with 40million people (757,000 people per elector) while Wyoming has 3 electors with 500,000 people(166,666 people per elector). It's a vestige of the past, that now leads to tyranny by the minority which needs to end. (Both Bush and Trump won the presidency while losing the popular vote to their oponeonts). |

Most of this is not true. Hate when people opine on this with false information. Further promulgating the nonsense. There was no evidence in court. To file a case in any court you need to file it with evidence. Or ask the court to allow you to get more evidence based passing the court's threshold that your claims are may be valid. The suits provided neither. In one case a Trump lawyer tried to argue there were no observers allowed to view the counting of ballots and so the ballots should be thrown out. The judge asked him is there was any Trump observers there. He demurred and didn't answer. The judge then reminded him he was an officer of the court (basically saying if you lie you can go to jail) and asked him again if there was any Trump observers president. He answered "there was a non-zero number". That sums up all the cases, obfuscations and lies in public, but when confronted in a place that there are actual consequences for lying, they changed their story. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2020/11/11/trump-lawyers-suffer-embarrassing-rebukes-judges-over-voter-fraud-claims/ |

Truth2018:Not going to change a thing, but emphasize how fuxed we(the US) are as a country. Ted Cruz went to Harvard Law School, Hawley went to to Yale Law School. Probably two of the most difficult schools to get into anywhere. They aren't idiots. They know what they are saying is BS. But they say it anyways for money from their base. Trump has lost over 60 court cases in some laughable ways. Read some of the opinions. Opinions/Decisions written by people he just appointed as judges. The Supreme court, a 6-3conservative court(he appoint 3 of the 6 conservatives) has shot him down multiple times (they didn't even take the cases, because they were so ridiculous). Furthermore his attorneys haven't even attempted to make a case of fraud in court... why you ask, because there are legal repercussions for lying in court (contempt of court and lose your law license). So they stay stuff outside court that they deny in court. (In court a Trump appointed judge asked Giuliani "Are you alleging fraud?" His answer.. "No" ![]() This isn't a close debate about fraud. I'm shocked he got as many votes as he did. He is going to be the worst President in US history. Around 3,500-4000 people are dying DAILY due to covid, he won't wear a mask or push people to wear a mask, he throws parties and covid super spreader events during a pandemic, he and his close allies have gotten covid and survived because of experimental treatment (Regeneron) other people couldn't get. He lost the election by 7 million actual votes and the electoral college by 306-232. It wasn't even close. But because our election system is run in an undemocratic way(electoral college) he is still making noise trying to disqualify enough state's electors and put his own in place to steal the election. Basically the minority in this country have been trying to oppress the majority. These people doing this are more focused on money and power than the well being of the country they supposedly love. Reminds me a lot of Nigeria. The US is soooo fuxed. And can you please stop with the believe that somehow God wants Trump to win. It betrays your lack of understanding of God. It also insults my God and my faith. Trump is not a Christian, not a man of God and has 0 understanding of Christ. |
Blackmoran:Not sure what you are talking about. The Media projected the winner based on statistical analysis by their hired statisticians (check out Nate Silver or Nate Cohn on twitter). (eg. the rest of the ballots are from registered Democrats, who are from heavy democratic areas and who mailed their ballots in. Biden won these type of votes ~80-20). In fact the statisticians thought some states like Nevada and PA should have been called earlier. The media was being more careful since if they called it, it would mean they would be predicting Biden would be president. This how it always is done. Even in 2016 it was the media that projected Trump as winner. States have until Dec. to certify their results. And nothing is official until then. Some take that long to certify (official), so the media makes an interim projection. Lastly, the fact that Republicans won some of the senate races in which Trump lost should put a big hole in your theory. Ask yourself, if the Dems were going to cheat, wouldn't they have rigged the senate races as well? Because it's all on the same ballot. |
edward1106:We in the US knew this would happen. Trump told his supporters not to vote by mail, while democrats concerned about Covid asked their supporters to use the mail in vote process. And the legislatures run by Trumps party (in PA and other places) passed laws that their election divisions could not count mail ballots (they couldn't even open them to take ballots out of envelopes) until election day. So the mail in Ballots (millions in each state) had to get processed after the in person votes got processed. And mostly all of it was from Democrats. That's why it's taking so long and Biden is picking up so many votes (He's winning them by 75%+). And there is even concern about these mail in ballots. Some believe the Post Office deliberately sabotaged mail delivery so these ballots wouldn't return on time. The first time I asked for one, the ballot dept didn't receive the request. (I've never had mail go missing in years). I asked for one another one and decided to use a drop box instead of mailing it. The Post Office(now run by a Trump super donor) started slowing down. Some (intra state) letters that should take usually 1, 2 days max to arrive would take a week and a lot of mail started going missing. A judge had to force the Post Office to do sweeps of their centers to look for ballots that hadn't been delivered before the election, because their on time rate suddenly dropped to 60% from 91% in key (democratic) areas. Not sure, but it is all very suspicious. |
NofiuFade:As a Nigerian am enheartened by this statement and as an American am embarrassed that we are being preached to by anyone on democracy. But, we have institutions in place. His term ends 4 years after it starts whether there is a new President or not. The secret service is already protecting Biden. He can attempt to stay after that date, but by law he won't be president. And I trust our institutions will make sure he leaves. |
BluntTheApostle:I'm not an attorney, but I would suspect that for involuntary manslaughter there has to more elements than "reversing you car, and you run someone down". I would assume if you were properly reversing, looking behind you and someone was asleep under your tire, or jumped behind your car, you wouldn't be charged with involuntary manslaughter. I think there has to be some form of recklessness or negligence involved. Ex. reversing your car without looking behind you or not wearing your glasses. |
michjunior:Everything in life has consequences. This is in fact reckless homicide. I'm sure there are criminal codes similar in Nigeria as these concepts extend back to old English law. Her husband no longer has a wife (not to talk about the loss of income) and if she had a child he now has no mother. Though there was no intent, he did take a life in a reckless way. It wasn't just a non preventable accident. 1.) He shouldn't have been driving and 2.) He didn't look behind him before reversing. He should have known the risks and he did it anyways. He broke the law designed to prevent these things and in the process killed someone. At the least the boys family should have paid ALL her medical expenses and more given she is now dead. And the boy should be in juvenile detention or the mother in jail (for being reckless as well since he is a minor) for the accident. |
justli:One of us on evenings and PAID vacation time from their JOB went to do something that was important to them, help Hilary's campaign. The other sits online and talks ish about ish he/she has no clue. Who do you think is more reasonable? Seriously you should try it, It may make you, you know, more INFORMED. You know ur kind of proving my point about thinking for yourself. All you had to do was read the title of the article, then open it up and read it yourself. But I guess that's a lot of work, it's easier to watch a youtube/tik tok video to and have someone tell you what to think. Btw, your words betray you. Are you seriously arguing Gallup is some liberal organization? Have you ever heard of Gallup? In fact Gallup is known to have a slight Republican bias. You can google it. I used that poll because of that bias. But should have used Rasmussen (you probably don't even know what that is). And liberal links? You know Harvard is a Liberal institution, so you should avoid any information from anyone who went there as well. Actually it seems like you already do. Manages to travel to Nigeria? Ha. Was born in Nigeria and am in Nigeria maybe 4 times a year (outside this year - Covid). I don't think everyone in Nigeria lacks basic cognition (have a lot of Brilliant Nigerian friends). Just think some lack basic cognition because they are too comfortable not knowing what they don't know; like you. |
justli:Honestly, It sounds like you get a lot of information fed to you instead of distilling it yourself. Example, I gave you a link with the polling of the favorability of both candidates. The title is literally "Trump and Clinton Finish With Historically Poor Images" and ur still arguing that Hilary wasn't unpopular. Did you not have enough credit to click the link, or did you click it and you just filtered it out because it didn't fit your narrative. Who cares what CNN said, I showed you actual statistics. Literally, the actual stats say something different and you're still arguing. You've decided to read and believe the things that reinforce the narrative that you have. What does that get you? It just makes you sound stupid. You have 0 understanding of the US, our two parties and neither a historical context or a societal one(you actually believe the FBI supported Hilary... you don't even know how stupid that sounds, because you don't know enough to understand it) to reference the crap you are talking. And I hate the appeal to authority argument, but who do you think should have a better understanding, the guy who was mostly raised and schooled in the US, studied Government, Economics, and Engineering. Or the guy who has never been to the US who and has an app that tells him what "real Americans" think? Good Lord. I pray for you. |
justli:Ha. You get bonus points from another post filled with RIGHT wing propaganda. Kudos for being a slave to RIght Wing propaganda. When I'm in Nigeria doing business, the one thing that I hate the most is people who are wholly unqualified to give me their opinion on an issue , argue and state their opinion like it is the WORD of GOD. 1.) Hilary was historically unpopular. Not my opinion but a FACT. It was unfair, as I thought she was a smart technocrat demonized by the Right. But it is what it is. FYI, I'm biased as well as I knocked on doors for her. Trump and Clinton Finish With Historically Poor Images https://news.gallup.com/poll/197231/trump-clinton-finish-historically-poor-images.aspx 2.) Illegal Immigrants don't vote in Federal Elections. Yes, our constitution allows for election by electrical college. Whereas each state votes for electors(apportioned by the Federal Govt, by state size with a minimum amount) who then vote for the President. Each state then decides how to allocate those electors, some do winner take all and some apportion the electors by proportion of win. It was a compromise by the founders to make sure all states are represented (all states get 2 senators regardless of size, CA has 40 million gets 2 and Wyoming has 500k gets 2). The electoral college is proportioned in a similar way. The problem is that this can lead to tyranny of the minority. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/25/opinion/trump-electoral-college-minority.html So, Trump barely won the Electoral college but rules the country like he has the support of the MAJORITY of American citizens. 3.) The "Walk Away" movement.. lol. More propaganda. Riddle me this. Name one high profile Democrat who supported Hillary who is supporting Trump. All the Democrat Presidents were at their convention, Can Trump say that about Republican Presidents (there's only 2 left so that should be easy no?) Again, I'll post this article. Written by a top Republican Strategist. Read it. https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2020/08/19/interview-stuart-stevens-republican-case-against-trump-397918 Here is a list of prominent Republicans who support BIden, an even longer list won't be voting Trump. https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/18/politics/republicans-supporting-biden/index.html 4.) There's so much BS, half truths and false information, but NY is not going anywhere. It's like saying because some Billionaires are leaving Lagos, Lagos is in trouble. Honestly, diversify your reading material. Ask more questions, figure out the bias in who wrote what your reading or listening to. There's always a bias. Use your brain, don't just put it on cruise control and let someone else direct what you think. Hare some good reading sources: Nytimes- Has a paywall Washpost - Has a paywal Politico - figure out who writes the article just to understand the bias Axios - Same above |
