CryptoRepublic1:Yes it can. (avg. 50 per phone) * 6= 300. I assume he may be on a family plan and even if there are 5, the numbers would still make sense. It's not unreasonable. Some people pay ~$100 just for one line (tethering, smartwatch plan, tablet plan, etc. etc.) |
Does anyone live on the island with an apartment that has constant water, electric, ac, security? Would be curious to know an assessment of total monthly expense. Thanks. |
CryptoRepublic1:Family of 6. |
hairbyuj:Base ~$23k. Changes based on bonus, etc. BioMedical. |

pavoda:Where are you purchasing 10000USD at official rates? There's so much contradictory info here. Everyone seems to be an expert. |
ibedun:Men and women are both calculating just for differing things. Just be discerning in who you date/marry. But, I'll give you the fact that I also do find a lot of Nigerian relationships to be transactional. And that generally works out for us Men who have money and continue to maintain it, if that's what you are into. I can understand it given the socio-economics of Nigeria (developing countries), but they aren't for me. |
petitejolie:It's in dollars. He worked hard and he's blessed. But the moral of the story is that even just having children has a cost. |
nashito:I grew up watching my dad mercilessly beat the hell out of my mom in front us and though we are in the West, she stayed with him because of cultural brainwashing. Money is a great separator. The problem is a lot of men are marrying women who they can control with money. But the world is changing and women can make their own money now. When a woman does make more money or makes enough to be independent, they lose that control. And some Nigerian men, can't successfully be in a relationship where it's even 60 40 in their favor. Why should someone continue to take abuse esp. if they are the breadwinner. Some Nigerian men somehow think God created them Gods to loom over woman. Their wives work 100 hours a week, are the breadwinners and their husbands expect them to still come home make dinner and serve them, while they sit at home. Treat women how you would want someone to treat you. And pick someone who you want to be your partner, not your slave. |

LongNipple:This story.... He came to Nigeria to remarry who? Some woman he just met who has never lived in the US? Jesus. He just got out of it and he's laying the foundation to go through it again. Some people never learn. |
koxi:This. I feel there is more to this story. Has he been physical with her? Is there any veracity to any of her claims? Granted, men and woman can be evil. But generally, in these Nigerian relationships, it's generally the men who haven't "let go" of the idea that they are no longer in Nigeria. Or marry women who are younger and bring them abroad without any thought as to what happens when they are now financially independent and exposed to western thought. This should be a cautionary tale to all men who live or want to live in the West. The courts are equal or tend to favor women. Again, this is not Nigeria, the physical, verbal abuse and need to dominate, won't last. The society favors equality and in divorce, woman can get half of everything and the courts can force you to pay her marital and child support. So, when they are fed up.. they have options. But, there is so much to know before getting any advice. Are these just civil procedures or are they criminal as well(mean can he go to jail). Does he still want to be married? What does she want from him? Did she get a restraining order on him before his attempt to visit the kids? You should ask him to be 100% honest with you in order to get good wisdom. If there is a hint at reconciliation(if she is open to it), he should try to find a good church who may offer marriage counseling if he can't afford private marriage counseling. That road would be long and they both have to be open to honesty, growth and change or be able to fake it. Else he should just move on mentally. Do not attempt to contact her and do not go over the house to "see the children". Ask the courts to set up times that he can visit the kids and if he needs to talk to her do so through and attorney. A move to Nigeria sounds drastic. But, it isn't a terrible idea if he can find a good opportunity, but would he be comfortable leaving his kids? Time heals all and he will get better. He just needs to be honest so he can get good wisdom and not make it worse. I just thought about it. Does, he want to move to Nigeria because he is scared of going to jail in the UK? |
Postgraduatengr:My friend's don't teach. They hire tutors to prepare their kids for entrance exams into US boarding schools. But I assume you'd want to look into either the SSAT or ISEE exam coaching. |
I'm sure they both got the vaccine. It would suprise me if they didn't get the Pfizer or Moderna one months ago. I would expect my nations leaders to. This was probably just a photo shoot to try to instill confidence. Not saying the AstraZeneca vaccine isn't good. |
Tacky thread. But I do have friends who pay 20-25k an hour to prepare their kids for US boarding school exams. |
Too many variables to be answered. Some things have to be defined. What is the rate of flow of the bottle with the water in it and is that rate constant. What is the definition of "filled"? If the rate is really high and filled means the water has to reach the top of a container at some time(not stay full), than the answer would be #1. But I think the person who drew it wanted the answer to be "5"(constant small flow). |
DrinkWater10:Put anything important in your carry-on or boarding bag. I always have both with me at all times and never let anyone carry them for me. If you're going on an international trip, put the most important things in your boarding bag. As sometimes, they may run out of room in the plane and force you to check your carry on. You can always put a boarding bag underneath the seat. (I did one international trip with my mom and despite my warnings she put her money in her carryon). It was a pain and obvious arguing the 2 times they asked her to check the carry on in. As for checked luggage, I use a TSA lock and also a TSA luggage strap especially when I'm landing in Nigeria. If someone really wants to, they can get into both. The goal is deterrence. Make them look for an easier target. Also don't put anything in the front pockets, if your luggage has any. Very easy to unzip and steal from. Also, put a luggage tag on each bag. On the luggage tag I put my last name, email and a Google Voice number. That way if the airline loses my bag and needs to, they can find me. I don't put my address as if someone else finds it, they know 1.) I'm most likely not home and 2.) where my home is. And do a google search for the stuff you can't put in your carry on (certain sizes of liquids, etc). I forgot one day and so trashed/gifted the baggage agent a nice bottle of expensive cologne. Oh and know how many bags you're allowed and how much each bag should weigh esp. when leaving Nigerian airports (I'm sure that's how they make most of their money). They weigh boarding bags and carryons as well and they are very particular. Good Luck. |
I respect the Bible's take on this. Genesis 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. I think both of you have things to deal with. For you: The way you wrote this post wreaks of chauvinism. What do you even mean, does she "have the right"? I assumed she is married to your brother and they live in that house together. You should ask yourself what marriage means to you. For her: Your story is clearly one sided and I'm not even sure you have the wherewithal to even see your actions clearly. She should have not kicked you out unless she felt her person or her house was in danger. She should have tempered herself and spoken to your brother when he got home and let him be the one to kick you out. Not because she doesn't have the right to kick you out, but because that path is easier than all the inevitable drama this action will cause. |
gypsey:There are things that are quantifiable and knowable. How many votes Trump received is quantifiable. How many cases he won is quantifiable. Those are facts. Those are things you falsely or knowingly misrepresented. And then you go on your tangent about the left and CNN. gypsey:Again, it's not about opinion. Your argument is false if the premise is false. And you haven't even corrected your false statements. You'll just keep plowing through as if you never made them. And btw Politicians are laughing their way to the bank(Trump (200 million dollars more in the bank because MUMUS sent him money to "fight the stolen election" )), because people don't take the time to get informed and so they vote and stan for demagogues. Like you are doing here. |
gypsey:It wasn't an argument. I corrected your "facts". You made a post where your "facts" premises were wrong and somehow thought you were making a coherent argument? How can you build an argument where your foundation (your facts) isn't there? Again, get off the far right sites, it'll make you embarrass yourself when you talk to people who are actually in the know (like above). |
[img][/img][img][/img][img][/img] gypsey:Jesus, you traveled way down that Rabbit hole. Everyone in the US still talks about COVID everyday! The president incited an attempted coup, our Capital was breached, they tried to Hang the Vice President (they almost captured him by I think 20 feet), they wanted to kill the Speaker of the House and any lawmakers they could find and you wonder why that knocked Covid off the front pages for a couple of days? Dude, you are real real deep in your delusion. In fact below is todays NY times. Check the Covid references.
|
gypsey:Your facts are off. 1.) He won 74,216,154 votes. Biden won 81,268,924. A lot of people in the US vote for the party. So, of those 74 million he won, you can't say they all blindly follow him. And because of his post election antics some of those Independents and moderate Republicans who voted for him have already left the party or signaled they won't support him again or the Republican party for supporting him. In fact because of his antics the Democrats picked up two seats in GA which had been reliably Republican. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_United_States_presidential_election 2.)Trump has not won 22 cases. He filed roughly 84 cases relating to the 2020 election results and won 1. And the ONE he did win "centered on reducing the amount of time Pennsylvania voters had to fix errors on their mail-in ballots." https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2021/feb/09/blog-posting/trump-did-not-win-two-thirds-election-lawsuits-whe/ His lawyers have been eviscerated by everyone, even Judges he just appointed. Here is an article by one, a CONSERVATIVE Republican judge. If you are interested in US Constitutional law and what the Courts(all of them) thought about the merits of his fraud arguments, download the ruling and read it. It's devastating. ‘This is simply not how the Constitution works’: Federal judge eviscerates Trump lawsuit" https://www.politico.com/news/2020/11/21/federal-judge-tosses-trump-suit-over-pennsylvania-election-results-439010 3.) What happened at the Capital was an attempted coup. They tried to kill legislatures and prevent them from certifying an election and thus change the outcome of the election by violence to keep Trump in power. How is that any different than any of the coups that have happened in Nigeria? Lastly, it doesn't help your case when your arguments are premised on lies. Studies have been done that those who mostly read/listen to far right media are less informed and dumber for it. I think all your misrepresentations above prove that. Get off all the alternative media, leave the parallel world you live in devoid of facts and join us in this one. |
gypsey:Curious? Why do you think Republicans need Trump? While he was president, they lost the House, the Senate and then he lost election? Also, do you think a leader who lead his followers to an attempted coup should be held to any political consequence? And you think Trump got a few things wrong? What do you think he got right? |
She should take this down. Congrats for getting into College, it's an accomplishment, but doing all this(pictures will all the names on it) is silly and prideful. You're told to apply to 7-10 schools. I applied to 5 schools. 2 Reach(Tougher schools), 2 schools I thought I could get into and 1 school that was a safety in case I was wrong. Boston University was my safety school. If you apply to anymore than that you didn't do your research right. |

erico2k2:If you look at it just purely in the perspective of those in this thread who receive money from family, this policy is beneficial to them. Why have money come that is exchanged at the bank rate when you can do it yourself at the "parallel market" rate? If someone is going to send you $100, would you rather have 39,000 naira or 47,400? Isn't the goal to get the most value for your money? |
If I understand the policy, it seems wise. But I guess if you're moving smaller amounts of money it may make it more cumbersome. When you transfer with one of those apps they give you the Bank rate which is about ~390. Getting money from a Dollar account you can then trade it for ~470. If you didn't have a Dom account, probably a good time to get one set up. btw does anyone know if they are allowing Dom to Dom transfers (same bank) again? thx. |
Are you guys really dating/marrying/having children with women who you don't trust enough to know they wouldn't lie to you about whether a child is yours? There is so much wrong in that. I would expect any women I marry and have a child with would feel insulted if I asked her for a DNA test. I would be basically calling her a hoe and I would expect to either have very strong evidence or expect the relationship to be over after that request. |
Kingspin:Not if 1.) The polices go against facts, the fabric of our Country and the Constitution. and 2.) Trump won the majority of LAND in this country, not the majority of people who reside on it. The fallacy is that he somehow had a huge mandate because he won by a small sliver in the electoral college. A minority of voters elected him and he should have governed that way! But you somehow believe it is reasonable or fair that someone elected by the minority of people, should make sweeping changes that the MAJORITY of voters disagree with. Think back to Trump's first press briefing. His Press Secretary tried to convince the world that despite what we all could see, that Trump's inauguration crowd size was the largest ever. Where can the relationship between him and the media go from there? |
Kingspin:This isn't something we are talking about abstractly. We've seen the movie. We know how it ended. Every warning about how dangerous and unfit a president Trump would be was true. And when investigations come to light about what actually transpired in his administration, I guarantee it'll be even more abundantly clear. I don't think you should be castigating those who got it right. You should be trying to figure why you didn't. |
Kingspin:You seem to be asking a lot of deep questions. I generally believe in let live unless your living encroaches on my living. As, I said, I do what I can and let God decide the rest. But the US does have a constitution and the Constitution says "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof...". So if you can tell me how the US President/Congress/Government based on his/her Christian faith can establish any of those policies you expressed above, I'm open to hearing it. I understand you live in Nigeria, where they can establish a Sharia court, but you can't do that in the US. And can you stop talking about Trump as if he's some Christian. He is a thrice divorced man, who was sleeping with a Porn Start without a condom while his wife was pregnant. |
Kingspin:Am really having a hard time understanding what you have written. But what I can make of it is that you are under the assumption that my views are mainly influenced by what the media reports? I can faintly see how you can think that, but no, I try to understand why people enact policies and the spoken and unspoken ramifications and underlying rationales behind them. The Nigerian policy is largely stupid and I think race based. Nigeria should have been happy that Trump did that, as it forced more talented Nigerians to stay and develop Nigeria, but because Nigeria is soo backwards, the majority probably would have still left Nigeria and went to other countries anyhow. It's interesting that you act like the US is only filled with left leaning media. I think you underestimate how Fox News and the conservative media outlets drive a lot of the mainstream media reporting. You're one example, it seems you get a lot of your news from these right wing (won't even call them conservative) sites and so a lot of the things you repeat seem to be replete with inaccuracies. |
