I have HSE 123 and have never used it. I have come to understand that some skills can actually make those 5-7 figures monthly for someone only if one can be patient enough to learn the skills. Try out digital marketing and learn the skills. There are platforms that when you enroll, you will be tutored and given mentorship support till you master the skills. The good thing is that you can start making money the few weeks you enrolled. If you need more info on this, check my signature...

You can learn digital skills like affiliate marketing, helping small biz run adverts, copywriting, e commerce, content creation etc. The good thing about this is that the industry can never be saturated.

More so you have chances to earn in foreign currency and also to meeting international experts in the same field.

PS: Note that this is a skill and not get rich quick programme but when you have finished learning, you make money anytime and anywhere you are. If interested, click on the link on my signature for further info.

Pls house.I have a case in Alaba I m yet to resolve. i priced and bought A century oven at the cost 18k .later one of the boys delivered it to my abode. I collected his number. That was 2 years and some months ago. Since then been buying stuff from them. Three weeks ago I needed to get my exact oven for my sis. So I had to call the guy that I want my exact oven but I can't remember the size. He asked how much I bought .I told him 18k he said ok it's 20 litres, that it's now 20k. I did the transfer and added delivery fare. On his way coming to deliver the oven he called suddenly that he couldn't make it to my house that he wanted to go back to Alaba. I had to call my husband to met and collect the oven from him half way. When they met he collected another transport money from my husband. To cut the story short .I discovered the oven he brought is smaller than mine. When I called their shop they told me. The oven he delivered is 20 litre sold @ 13k. Mine is 37 litre and current price is 18500. I returned the oven but he is not picking my calls. And am yet to get the 37 litre oven I want. And this is supposed to be a birthday gift to my sis. Pls house,if you can assist me to resolve this. I will be so grateful . Money is not easy to come by.

The guy call number is 08132576313. His name is Chinenye.

I will suggest that you open a new topic/thread and make sure ALABA INTERNATIONAL MARKET is on the topic since it happened there. Then we shall take it up from there. This is not business, this is not smartness and this is not grace but pure wickedness and fraud. My problem is that it seems that the management of this market is not interested in finding a way to curb all these fraudulent and criminal activities. There should be a complaint line/help line to report cases like this and not all those their task force.

Nice

Alaba have a very strong union , one guy here said the union was on the matter that yesterday
Cos some of them dey nairaland here

I doubt if the strength of the union is based on meting out disciplinary actions on defaulting traders including their Task Force Units(electronics and phone section). For those of them that are here, they might be thinking that what is happening here does not matter but if I ve never being to ALABA INT.MARKET,I wont read all these and still be foolish to visit there except I want to buy plantain and pear. You need to be scammed by some of these miscreants in order to understand how painful it is.

Thanks to social media.
This is the reason why Alaba market is no longer appealing to anyone again.
People rather go buy things at all these electronics shopping malls.
Congratulations man!!

You are very correct.Sometimes when I mention ALABA INTERNATIONAL to some of my friend, the next thing you will hear is ''Guy,wetin u dey go find there'' What made me to do the last transaction I did there which I ended up being duped is that I ve spent a lot of money setting up a biz and needed a small TV to put there.I knew malls would have been a better option but because I was short of funds then and needed the biz to kick off.

thanks very much Sir and to everyone who called BEN on my behalf. Issue has been settled amicably. I added 10k. Totalling 35k and the SAMSUNG DVD PLAYER i negotiated with was given to me.
Thanks

It is good to know that everything has been settled but the management of this market and their so called task force need to put an end to all these. You don t coerce people to buy things or force a ware on someone simply because it was under priced.Bargain and negotiation would nt have been added in oxford dictionary if they are not in existence

Thanks to @ikakahu and everyone who contributed in helping me to call Mr Ben in regards to the issue. Mr Ben called me last night that he's been receiving series of calls from different people as per the issue and asked me to come for settlement. I went this morning and we amicably resolved it.

I added 10k to my initial payment of 25k then my complete set of home theater was given to me.

Once again, thank you all including the moderator who pushed my post the front page.

It is good to know that you guys have settled.I don't usually have time for this but I felt bad haven gone through your write up and for the fact that I have had a similar experience around March(before the Covid 19 lockdown),I saw it necessary to put a call through.

Brother thanks for your concern.I live far from ALABA INTERNATIONAL and I am only free on weekends and that is the reason why I sent a friend that lives around there to help me to purchase the TV.Presently, markets don t open on Saturdays but I am trying to sacrifice one Friday for this guy but I need Soldiers like 3 because this guy needs to take back what he did to my friend. They beat up my friend simply because he requested for a refund since what they bargained for is not what is being given to him.If you have got some soldiers,I ll appreciate that gesture.

Year 2002, I went to Alaba with my late cousin who repairs radio, TV etc. We moved round the electronic shops looking for Aiwa deck(3 CD loader) fortunately who saw one got it tested with the 2 speakers and I love the sound, before the payment was made, I took hold of the speakers while my cousin carried the engine, then the guy(seller) wrote the receipt and I gave him money, on our way out of the seller's shop me and my cousin got surrounded by about 4 guys including the seller, we asked them what was the problem, to my greatest shock we were told the 12k was only for the engine and we have to pay for the two speakers, so I told the guy to return my money, he refused, after much shouting and displaying of madness, the place was tensed up, we gave them the 2 speakers due to our safety and I vowed never to buy anything or step my feet there (Alaba Int'l) again. Luckily for me I got a good speaker better than the follow come at a warehouse along Akowonjo road, Egbeda for 3.5k
My submission is save your self the stress of going to Alaba for your electronics by purchasing online or at any electronics show rooms around your area.

You can see, this happened in 2002 and we are in 2020 and such is still happening.I believe other neighboring countries come to shop in this same market. It could be that some of them in one way or the other have been scammed as well.We need to find a way to get this to other social media platforms for people to learn their lessons. The management of this market MUST sit up and do the needful. A trader in this same market once confiscated my phone because he felt I wasted his time bargaining for his wares.

Is that gbo plaza

You can imagine buying something from a lockup shop and being issued DIVINE FAVOUR INVESTMENT receipt with no phone number,no receipt number but office GBO. This is after you noticed that they have scammed you and trying to get justice. They swapped a tested working ok TV for a scrap samsung monitor with broken screen just because the buyer is an inexperienced, calm and gentle guy. They took advantage of that. This did not happen by the road side. This happened in a shop.Does it mean that some shops there are meant for such fraudulent activities and the management of this market does not know?

A den of criminals and I mean it. There is no way to sugarcoat it. Anything you are buying in that place is at your own RISK!
I am talking from experience. The FEW good traders in that place are an exception and not the rule.

There are sections that specialise in movie PIRACY with active support of the Unions the OP is parroting here. I have been in that market and witnessed a machine mass producing/pirating CDs,DVDs and VCDs at an alarming rate. Will the OP tell me that the so called unions are not aware of this daily crime going on in that place.

There are sections that specialise in inserting fake China engines into Samsung,Panasonic, Toshiba and other major electronics and passing them off as the original product.
There are cheap China generators embossed with trademarks of original Yamaha generators and passed off as originals.
How many activities can one list here. That market is just a sick horrible place to try and transact business.
Caveat emptor ~Enter at your own risk!

This one is medicine after death. As far as there are no punitive measures in place to deal with those dubious miscreants in that market. My best advice is for a new person is to stay away.

Don't attempt to buy Electronics as a new person in the market. You're better off buying from Lawanson or any other market.

I lost #60k in that market. And I swore never to step into that market.

And this is not about tribe. The main guy that scammed me was Haruna then supported by my Igbo brothers. I see it as the culture of the market. The tales from first timers experience in that market has always been horrible. And don't try to blame it on the guys doing osoafia. They are in Idumota and Balogun too. In fact I use them alot. They earn commissions from the stores and each time I make use of any of them I still tip them because they save me alot of time especially when I'm looking for a particular design of wears.

Like I said earlier, fraud is the culture they have adopted in Alaba market as a virtue.

If you have never been to Alaba before to buy Electronics better stay away. You're 99.99% likely to be scammed. So why take that chance?

The same receipt has always been used. Divine Grace Investment. My friend has bought used electronics from Lawanson and got home it didn't work as expected and she returned it and collected her money in full no dragging. But in Alaba, the money you just paid now now, see me see you I haven't touched your electronics is none refundable. Anybody calling that a business is a criminal.

My own receipt bears DIVINE FAVOUR INVESTMENT.The guy I sent lives around ALABA INTERNATIONAL MARKET but not really experienced on their fraudulent activities. He actually bought from a shop and paid to the shop owner before their gang members attacked him after he notice that the TV he negotiated for is different from what he is being given. They claimed he negotiated for non-tested.When the guy protested, they fought him and enforced a receipt without number, phone number etc on him.Luckily,he had collected the phone number of the the man he paid to before the other of his members came in.I still have the receipt and the phone number of the main man that collected the money. This incident happened before the COVID 19 lockdown and we have been calling the number but always switched off.Not until yesterday, when someone complained on nairaland and I said let me try the number again, the guy picked. He claimed he has forgotten, that we should come to the market but later on,he started ranting that what can we do sef. The management of this market needs to look into the activities of these fraudsters

Let us not be distracted. What this topic should focus on is the fraudulent transactions that happen on daily basis at Alaba International Market.People should outline their ill-experience in the hands of some of these fraudsters that call themselves traders. If any body has the contacts of any of the task force member or market executive or knows any of their online platform, let it be made known here so that probably we can push our protest directly to them. They should sit up and send to exile or penalize all these fraudsters.I have my evidence and ready to face them anyday anytime.

I called the number and had some conversation with the said man because this is annoying and it must stop.He is willing to dialogue with you.Try to call him.He said he does not have your number.Kindly call him and let us know the outcome. As for the man that swapped tested ok TV for a dead monitor for me,I called him this morning and his number went through after months of being switched off. That one is claiming that he has forgotten that I should come with the TV.Then later he said I am disturbing him, that I should do my worst.

This should not be a laughing matter but Nigerian police should take these complaints serious as a lot of people has been defrauded by these so called Alaba international market guys.Exactly the same thing that happened to this guy happened to someone I sent to buy TV for me.The seller refused the money being transferred to his account.By the time my friend went to the ATM to get the cash,on his return and after payment, not suspecting anything, that was the time he noticed that they have swapped the TV with a monitor with a cracked screen. In fact they fought him and in order not to loose out,I asked him to bring the monitor which is nothing more than a scrap. The management of this fraudulent market knows that all these kind of thing happens but nothing has been done as people keep complaining everyday. They claim that they have a task-force that handles this kind of cases but they all work hand in hand. That is why most times you visit the market, you will surely see one useless shop locked with an obituary poster(Age 40-45).They end up miserable and shall never go unpunished.A lot of people now avoid the market because of all these nonsense. There is no justification to defrauding people as fraud is fraud. If you cant sell your useless wares at a particular price, better say than defrauding people. The most annoying thing is that these guys have shops and not even a road side transaction(like the one they do in computer village Ikeja) and they operate as a cartel. The Heavenly God and that una god shall surely punish all those fraudsters at ALABA INTERNATIONAL MARKET.It is also a shame, disgrace and a thing gross incompetence on the side of the market union president that the market that is under him is full of criminals and not traders.Shame and woe unto you all.
