samodoh: Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Steve Ayorinde, has advised fathers to allow their babies enjoy the period of breastfeeding.
He said this in a message to a Breastfeeding Awareness Campaign organised by the Lagos chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ)/
The commissioner, represented by Mrs Toro Oladapo, a former NAWOJ President and Director, Public Affairs, Lagos Ministry of Information, said fathers should stop competing for breasts with their babies.
He stated that rather, men should encourage their wives to engage in exclusive breastfeeding which is vital during the first six months of life.
“Nothing is natural like breast milk,” he said, noting that human milk is better for babies than animal milk.
“Thank you so much for promoting the essence of womanhood.
“The media should help ensure mothers are breastfeeding to raise a healthy nation.
“You will all agree with me that children that are breastfed distinguish themselves academically,’’ he said.

marryjesus: A coalition of Middle Belt Youths has asked herdsmen to vacate the region before October 1 this year. They, however, distanced themselves from the quit notice issued to Igbo resident in the north.
Operating under the aegis of Middle Belt Renaissance Forum, the youths, which met in Abuja, threatened war at the expiration of their ultimatum. A communiqué by its convener, Comrade Jones Simon Alfa, urged governors from the region to be alive to governance and desist from harassing media practitioners.
It reads: “The Middle Belt governors should sit up for governance and stop primitive accumulation of wealth. The region is not in any way part of the agitation for Igbo to vacate the north on October 1. “We have been living with the Igbo peacefully and will not join in the call for secession.” In a related development, Governor Samuel Ortom has vowed to go ahead with the anti-grazing law in Benue State. The governor, who spoke yesterday in Makurdi against the backdrop of the court initiated at an Abuja High Court against the legislation by Miyeitti Allah Kautal Hore, said the move would not deter his administration in doing what was right for the people. He maintained that the exercise was only a ploy to kill time, saying government would not watch idly while a few disturb the prevailing peace in the state. The governor pledged to tackle the group legally. SirJeffry: Please this is for serious minded people especially gentlemen and ladies of investment and business sections. A friend recently built a hotel in Awka, Anambra State and he's advising me to follow suit but I'm sceptical about hotel business so I'm considering two options.
One is to build some blocks of University hostel in a city with high concentration of undergraduates like Awka and Enugu since I already have acquired a reasonable number of lands in Awka, Asaba and recently Enugu.
The other option is since this is about having something at home, I can fix a reasonable deposit in a bank like first Bank or UBA which will be accruing interest every three months. I'm scared of going into business because of past experiences and besides that, I'm not good in business. All I have been doing is buying lands and keeping the rest of my money in bank, please I need some help.
Hotel is the best, but it all depends on the location, in hotel you see your money every day, then going for hostel, you have to consider the number of rooms, and rent always come once in a year!

My husband's friend staying with me is getting on my nerves in the sence that he doesn't help me out in any house chores like washing the cars and helping out in fetching water but two other guys staying with me does these things without being told to. there was a day i had a misunderstanding with my husband over preparing cat fish brought by someone who I don't like the way he behaves and i rejected his gift in the persons presence my husband got angry and ordered his friend to prepare the fish in her kitchen. .I am someone that accommodates people when they visit buh this one that came, what he does is to eat without saying thank you after meal,sleep without helping out in the house .there are times i will fetch water and the guy will just seat and be watching me fetch water without making any attempt to help out. two days ago i called a meeting and made him to understand that the other two guys staying with my husband are not his errand boys they are here just the way he came too and they are not his servants ,i made him understand that i won't tolerate such act in my house.if he wakes up in the morning he should help out in the house that its a way of showing appreciation for staying with us . This morning he packed his things and left without saying thank you to the woman of the house or saying at least I am leaving tnx for accommodating me for close a year. the guy is so annoying that he would use the toilet without flushing it .eat and leave the plates for me or other guys to pack it for him. pls have done anything wrong?
