Explorers: ONE POLY STUDENT DIED AFTER DISCHARGE AGAINST MEDICAL ADVICE FROM EKSUTH:
The attention of the Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti has been drawn to certain report which has gone viral on the social media and a section of the Press with regard to the alleged death of two students with malaria attack given as the cause of the violent demonstration on Saturday, 7th October, 2017.
However, the truth of the matter was that a student of the institution was reported dead after he had forcibly been discharged against medical advice at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital Ado Ekiti.
The deceased student had reported ILL at the NHIS-Accredited Polytechnic's health centre on Friday, 6 October 2017, got stabilised after which the patient was referred to EkSUTH for further treatment.
Report from the Teaching Hospital on the morning of Saturday, 7th October, 2017 that the patient was forcibly discharged against medical advice and also without the input or knowledge of the Polytechnic about the patient's whereabout.
This was the situation until the alleged death of the student was broken on campus heralding the violent protest with the students going wild with all sorts of lies and burnt down the fully equipped NHIS-Accredited Health Centre, the entrepreneurship and demonstration farms, poultry, fishery etc of the CEDVS as well as the department of Agricultural Technology and Agricultural and Bio Environmental Technology vandalising and looting the poultry, fishery among other damages.
Meanwhile, to facilitate investigation into the gory development, a number of decisions have been taken at a combined meeting of Management and Academic Board held on Sunday 8 October 2017 as follows:
1. Shut down all academic activities and confirmed earlier decision taken by the Rector in sending the students home until further notice:
2. Set up a panel of inquiry to unravel the remote and immediate cause/s of the crises, among other terms of reference.
I was at UTH A&E Dept and was told that the student got to them last night around 7pm with severe chest pain.
He was admitted till this morning when his brother requested for forceful discharge against medical advice.
He was asked to sign and he did.
The student didn't die at UTH, he died while he was being taken away.
The scanned copy of the agreement the brother signed is presented below.
I heard they stole a lot of chicken from the poultry farm!
ChangeIsCostant: A pastor in Ekiti state has been accused of causing injuries to a woman's private part after conducting a "special type" of deliverance for her after collecting N50,000 from her. The woman who is suffering from wounds in her private region - claimed it happened after the pastor inserted some substances there during deliverance for fertility.
She revealed this in an interview conducted by a journalist, Omo Edema of Voice 89.9FM, Ado-Ekiti.... Read below;
“I live in Lagos. One day, my younger brother called me that there was a prophecy from his Prophet, Prophet Oni Olakanye of CAC Palace of Mercy, Mathew, Olokuta, Ado-Ekiti, that I would need to come down to Ado-Ekiti for prayers concerning my infertility. I have married since 2011, but no child. So I discussed the issue with my husband and he allowed me travel to visit the prophet.
“When I got to the prophet a few days later, he first prayed with me at the church reception. He subsequently called me down into one of the rooms in the mission house where he placed a mirror under my private part—the exercise he called inspection, and later poured some liquid substance in my private part and fingered it in by himself. He therefore took me to bathroom where I bathed on a mortar with a black soap and native sponge while he stood in with me…
“He therefore demanded for N50,000 which I gave to him on the same day.
“Lastly, he gave me a ball-shaped substance to insert into my private part in the bedtime when I get home. I did according to his instructions. However, since then, my private part has been badly affected with wounds without cure yet…” These were the allegations of Mrs. Omowale against Prophet Oni Olakanye of CAC Palace of Mercy, Mathew, Olokuta, Ado-Ekiti.
“I know her, but not all her allegations against me were true. I collected N50,000 to work for her and to ensure she has child in life. The substance I gave her to insert into her private part; she didn’t use it according to my instruction…” The prophet, Oni Olakanye responded.
kidap: Obviously, there might be no room for reconciliation between actress Mercy Aigbe and her estranged husband, Lanre Gentry.
Known to always make noise about her husband’s birthdays, the actress shunned Gentry’s birthday today, October 7 and has not given a birthday shout-out all day. Though the last time she posted on Instagram was two days ago, its obvious Mercy is not ready to identify with Gentry again. Meanwhile, Gentry has given a birthday alert since Thursday night. The marriage of the Gentrys broke down in April when Mercy released some photos of her battered face which she claimed was wrought by her husband. On the morning of June 29, actress and mother of two, Mercy Aigbe released a video of her assault by husband, Lanre Gentry. Her husband later mocked her that she was telling a lie and he had never laid his hands on her. The seven-year-old union produced a son. The actress moved out of her marriage, reported to the Anti-Domestic Violence Unit of the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and the husband was charged to court. He spent seven days at the Kirikiri prisons after which he was released on bail. The case is still in court. However, Gentry, a businessman decided celebrating his day with photos and post. He wrote on Instagram, “Happy birthday to me ,well in everything I still say thank you Lord in you I trust my God thank you and thank you for let me see moor year thank you Lord .” (sic)

My Friend Jagunmolu posted how a woman recognised his abductor inside bank yesterday, read the touching story below and see how wicked people are.
EXCLUSIVE | Woman recognises her former abductor in bank, describes scar near his penis
There was a lot more than banking today at a skye bank branch in Port Harcourt when a woman (name undisclosed) who was standing on the queue patiently, suddenly began to scream at another bank customer that he was a kidnapper.
She grabbed the accused man on his collar and began to weep profusely as other customers and bank security tried to pull her away from him. An eyewitness gathered that in tears, the woman revealed that she was kidnapped about a year ago and the accused bank customer was one of her abductors.
She disclosed that the accused was particular to her because he sexually abused her 4-6 times a day while she was on abduction. Our eyewitness gathered that the accused man denied the allegations and claimed that he had never met the woman before. He claimed he was just a tailor that had come to make a withdrawal.
The woman stood by her story and said she could never forget him, she even told onlookers and bank security that if they take off the man’s trouser, they would find a scar on his upper thigh. Police officers arrived at the bank shortly and undressed the man in a closed office and indeed there was a scar.
LeadersNG gathered that the police officers obtained a warrant immediately to check the accused man’s account details and a large sum of 98 million naira was found in his account.
Officers of the Police force detained the man and took him to Anti – Kidnap unit for further questioning.
jayson87: TSTV will not release their decoder until January.
I had a chat with BeIn sports customer care and they confirmed TSTV does not have the right to broadcast in Nigeria and their services are not in Nigeria
you these Jayson87 again? I believe you are working with Dstv and you are afraid of losing your job, because all your thread and comment you are condemning tstv, wetin be your own sef!
Dstv agent spotted! There is nothing you are going to preach that will change our mind, forward ever backward never, tstv we know!
jayson87: There is an unforeseen scam called TSTV which was recently launched at an event in abuja, graced by top government functionaries and celebrities hitting Nigerians like storm. With the help of social media, the falsehood peddled by the agents of this satellite TV has dispersed like wildfire. At every nook and cranny; everyone is anticipating "the next big thing in satellite anymore pay television"
This disclaimer was posted to a whatsapp group yesterday and I thought it right to share with all, so we can be wary of the impending SCAM portrayed by TSTV.

*TSTV: Another MMM Scam. Everybody beware.*
These TSTV guys are actually reckless. I am really surprised that they brought the minister into this. I believe that this is another MMM. Buyers beware. This is based on the following: 1. Bein sports acquired the EPL, Champions League and Laliga only for MENA (Middle East and North Africa). They do not have the right for Nigeria. DSTV owns the rights for Nigeria till 2019. You cannot give what you do not have. When a new service is launched, you have to wait for the next bidding round to have a shot at acquiring the rights. You cannot jump in the middle and start showing it. Things are not done that way in the PayTV world.
2. A lot of channels listed like CNN, National Geographic, Discovery etc were acquired by DSTV on an exclusive basis for DTH in sub-saharan Africa by DSTV. Channels like Star Movies, MBC2, etc are only cleared for middle east and Asia. I really doubt that they have the rights to those channels. They may show it for one or two months before they are asked to take them off air.
3. I check with a content aggregator on the cost per subscriber for these channels, assuming they can buy the rights, it came out the about 23 USD per month. That is excluding the sports channels. Based on today's naira exchange rate of 365 naira to a dollar, the cost is 8,395 Naira per subscriber. The content owners globally charge per month for their content. They do not charge per week or part of the month. The content owners dictate the terms. Nobody can pay 8395 Naira and charge 3000 Naira. Not possible.
4. The cost of decoder package is as follows - decoder 25 USD, smartcard 4 USD, dish is 5 USD. Total is 34 USD (12410 naira). If we add shipping and clearing, you can get 15,000 Naira. To charge 5000 Naira for the package, you will need a lot of cheap money from bank to fund the decoder purchase. Buying 15,000 and selling 5000 sounds interesting to me.
5. To do internet via satellite, you need VSAT equipment which is expensive compared to the dish/lnb you need to receive dstv. Minimum cost of vsat equipment should be not less than 50,000 Naira. If you use the traditional dish equipment, you can only receive. You cannot do internet with it. Unless TSTV will supply you 40,000 Naira vsat equipment for 5000 Naira.
6. I went to lyngsat and checked the ABS 3A satellite, I did not see any information about any TSTV channels. Lyngsat is the database of all channels currently on satellite.
7. When you launch a new DTH platform, you start with a test transmission. This allows you to work through some issues that might come up. It also gives people chance to see some of your channels to make sure they are real before committing their money. There is no test transmission from TSTV.
8. EFCC Fraud Charges EFCC arrested this guy last year for fraud. Not credible.
In conclusion, people should ask enough questions before investing their hard earned money. If it is too good to be true, it's probably is. Let this not be another MMM.

AnonyNymous: Glo has been sufficient to replace MTN for me o. They have 4G connection which is VERY FAST and its available in more states- so I don't have to worry about that when I leave Lagos for Ekiti. And their data plans are cheap. I do 5k 24GB and that's enough for me on moderate usage.
Ekiti ke? Glo service is nothing to write home about in Ekiti presently, but before it was OK, we have been complaining to their customer care but all to no avail!
MrJanuzaj: ¤THE BEGGINING¤ I was with my best friends back in school, a very popular 5-man clique at that time in our class. We were watching an English premier league match between Man U and Tottenham hotspurs, just few minutes after Ashley Young has extended Man united's lead, the jublition has died down when my phone rang, it was Adaku on the line, she told me amidst a noisy background both from the viewing centre and her location of calling, she told me that the faculty officer has started giving out call-up letters, i was surprised because that was on a Saturday. We have already concluded within ourselves that the letters will be given on monday, but our considerate faculty officer has to do it during the weekend to enable those posted to far distance to make adequate preparations, now thats what i call service! I abandoned the match immediately, although my club is leading a possible 'Top Four' club 2-0 away. Honestly i have rarely seen anything that will realy make me abandon a Man united top-of-th-table match, but this information from Adaku did. Me and my cliqued friends raced home freshened up and headed to our faculty biulding. J*M*A*(who can crack the puzzle?). On reaching there, we saw a multitude already queued up waiting their call-up letters, some, expecially girls were rejoicing, these are those posted to Lagos, crossriver,Rivers,Abuja,Ogun, delta, akwaibom, and Imo(as it was rumoured that Rochas pays 20k state allowee) etc. Others were either stone-faced or clearly shedding tears, these are those posted to Zamfara, bornu, yobe, sokoto, jigawa, katsina, kebbi etc. We offered them little words of encouragement, assuring them that God will be with them(although within us we detest those states). As the anxiety was high we joined the long queue. Adaku came and gave me a huge hug, we call that type of hug '360 degree', this is because since we defended our project we have not seen each other, not as if i am even eager to see her. The normal hailings and huggings(various degrees depending on how closed one is to the babe) by others followed. Gradually our turn reached, the first of us that went, was awarded Zamfara! He was the only person amongst us that worked his own, he wanted lagos, but now its clear that he has been ''mugued''. The rest of us got a not too atractive, but a peaceful states at least. When my call-up letter was given to me, I discovered that i was posted to EKITI state. That was where my journey to yorubaland began. When i got home i browsed the Man U match, it ended 3-1 in favour of my beloved Red Devils. I wasn't so excited about Ekiti, i wasn't sad anyway. So i and my friends started our preparations to head to camp. Emeka was posted to zamfara, Ikemefuna to Kwara, Emma to Ogun, and the Jerry to Bayelsa. The next day was Sunday and Adaku wanted to visit me to see before a one year marathon. Now Adaku is not my girlfriend, as many would have thought, we were close during our first year, all of a sudden she began to feel as if she is doing me a favour by agreeing to date me, she did not say it, but it was written boldly through her body language. So i distanced myself from her a little, when she realised the space i gave her she, she began to flock around me like a bee on a hive, but i dont give girls second chance, although we were still friends but it was clear to her i was no longer interested in her. But she never gave up, but i have made my decision. Meanwhile my girlfriend then Omelogo, in 300-L the same dept. is about to visit me, so adaku has to make her visit brief, before the arrival of the 'chosen one' (no be Moyes ooo). So after seeing the both women, in a mutually exclusive strategy that sunday. On monday morning i left for Ekiti state orientation camp at Ise-emure-orun.Via Onitsha. I couldnt go from home because my parents live in the north. TO BE CONTINUED!!!!
To God be the Glory, I was also serving in the same state, probably you were batch A while I was Ek/13b , we participated in fayose and fayemi election before we go finally, and we were last set that collected 50k as state allawee, when fayose came into power he stop paying state alawee, I didn't no i will go back to Ekiti again, but after one year after our passing out I got a job there, then I have to relocate back, which am there till these moment!
hermosa7: Lucky for me, I recently gave my GoTv to my nephew while planning to buy StarTimes not knowing TStv was coming into town. Thank God I've not bought StarTimes.
bongolistik: Here are first hand info on the 6 things to know about TSTV that is lauching today
1. The N5000 for TSTV initial purchase includes a decoder, a dish and a remote control but excludes any installation service charge.
2. TSTV Pay AS You Go pause service i.e. the ability to pause your subscription when not in use would be available to those that would go for the maximum subscription which is the monthly N3,000 package and you would only be able to pause subscription not more than 7 days, thereby allowing you 37 days at most for your monthly subscription. So don’t expect to use your 1 month subscription from January to December in the name of pausing or expect to user 1 day N200 subscription for 1 month.
3. The first time you buy the decoder is the only time you would be able to enjoy up to 20GB of data as bonus, for subsequent full monthly subscription comes with 10GB of data and not 20GB as some of you might be thinking.
4. TSTV has incorporated its subscription service payments into Quickteller the popular E-payment service in the country and just like DSTV, you would also be able to easily pay for your TSTV subscriptions through Quickteller.
5. You would be able to buy extra 1GB data or above from TSTV at the cost of N300 for 1GB
6. TSTV data allocation has nothing to do with watching of TVST channels but just a separate and additional offer to the entire TSTV concept or better still what you commonly regard as Value Added Service (VAS)
