Ugochux:Get this DVD to understand and learn more about the lions. https://www.nairaland.com/1942595/dvd-how-prevent-breakdown-expensive Ikenna |
masaratiti:My concern is what if I help you by buying a used one here in Abuja, send it to you, you mount it and it refused to work. What will happen? You will return it to me to get you another omw or refund your money, right? That's what I am not comfortable with . You can't know how good an MFD is until you mount it in the lion. And I am not ready for that stress that goes with returning and resending stuff. I hop you understand. Good morning. Ikenna |
Ugochux:2005 year model 406 with auto transmission does not exist. Thank you. Ikenna |
motherlode:I stay in Abuja. Thank you. Ikenna |
slinkky:Use Total ATF fluide-II D. Ikenna |
Mubz:I am surprised that no point in your post you mentioned you scanned the car. Please, that ES9J4S engine was not designed to be troubleshooted with guess work or trial and error method you are metting out on it. Whatever that is causing the hesistation and sluggish running is/stored in the engine ECU. ALL you need is to plug in PP2000 and deal with the culprits reported. A lot of sensors or components would give your sypmtoms when faulty. If you are in Abuja, conatct me off forum to discuss when to bring the car to me to carryout PP2000 session on that Lion. Ikenna |
ugees:407 is as good as every other lion. It cost about 2m or 2m+, depending on the model and the state. You can get the phase 1 lower than 2m though. Ikenna |
sammy265:The male connector/socket determines the pin one. Check the newly purchased socket. You should see the numbering of the pin on it. Irrespective of the wire colours, the numbering are the same, as long as the Socket is from a Lion. The socket can only go in one way, so the position of pin 1 will always be the same. Ikenna |
badaruwa:That's very good to hear. Truly, the 607 is a very nice Lion, a good one. Thanks for your testifying. I sell the Diagbox. I have only 1 left at the moment. Contact me off the forum to discuss it. I am yet to receive your WhatsApp message. Ikenna. |
sammy265:What you have is Oil temperature and oil level sensor, because the sensor does dual work, since yours is EW engine (even if you don't have oil temperature gauge on instrument panel). You will find these 3 codes/numbers on the 3 wires: 414, 411 & 415. These numbers are stamped on the wires. The connector I also numbered: 1,2 & 3. The connection on the connector should be like this: Pin 1: 414 (Green). Pin 3: 411 (Red). Pin 4: 415 (White). * The pin 1 should be the ground, meaning, it will either be green or green with yellow stripe colour. I believe this will help. If you still can't connect it and you stay in Abuja, bring it to me. Ikenna |
Op, I believe we have spoken on phone. Like discussed, I am not in Abuja now, but will be today. I should be in town before 4pm. I would need to physically troubleshoot the systems. Ikenna |
smankerana:The VIN you provided its not correct. Besides, it should be 17 digit, not 18. Ikenna |
I have forwarded the complete VIN details to the email address you provided above. Ikenna |
Op, Your Dad will need the Peugeot starter DVD I produced last year. The DVD will prevent anyone from butchering his Citroens anymore. Find the link below: The vol. II will be out soon. https://www.nairaland.com/1942595/dvd-how-prevent-breakdown-expensive Ikenna |
motherlode:Find few details of the VIN: Vehicle: Citroën Xantia II Warranty start start: * Not clear Driving Position: Left Hand Drive. Silhouette : 5 Door Saloon. If you want the remaining details, mail or text me your email address to forward. My phone number is 08052811236. If you guys are in Abuja, you can ask your Dad to bring the car for me to check the state of the systems. Ikenna |
motherlode:Just seeing the thread now. Could you post the VIN of the Xantia? The number starts with VF7 (V for Europe, F for France & 7 for Citroen). I want to check Citreon database to know what engine, transmission model & type, year model, etc. I need the year model to know if it has OBD 1, OBD II or no scan port. The 2.0 litre engine you said you saw written means the car likely have XU10 engine. Notwithstanding, send the VIN to confirm. Any good Peugeot Mechanic can handle the Xantia powertrain, since the petrol versions all have XU & ES engines which you will find in 306, 406, etc. I would suggest you acquire Diagbox for electrical troubleshooting, if has OBD 1 or OBD II scan port. I am waiting for the VIN. Ikenna |
karaye:I don't know the current price. If you need the 207, contact me off the forum to discuss it. I have contacts in France and Sweden that can ship in one for you. Ikenna |
smankerana:I will do that tomorrow. I will need your email address to send the VIN details to you. Text or mail the address to me, off the forum. My contact: ikenna351@gmail.com or 08052811236. Ikenna |
smankerana:You may have to acquire your own PP2000. It's a necessary tool for any modern Lion owner. I sell the scan tool. If you need it, contact me off the forum. You also need to watch my DVD to understand your lion better, including basic preventative maintenance tips on lions. Here is the link that explains the need for the DVD: https://www.nairaland.com/1942595/dvd-how-prevent-breakdown-expensive Ikenna |
Happy new year house! Ikenna |
Happy New Year! Ikenna |
unleashed123:You need to first state what engine is it. 307 doesn't come with one engine model or type. Notwithstanding, if its petrol engine, TU engine or EW10 engine, the coil pack is mounted on the cylinder head. But the engine model will determine what covers the coil pack which would need to be removed before you can see the coil. A failed coil pack will give cylinder(s) misfire or rough idling. Depending on the extent of the failure, could make a car stall and not start again until replaced. Ikenna |
Peacefullife:Ok. If you have anymore question or clarification on Peugeot 607, do let me know. Good morning. Ikenna |
We need to understand what we want to compare, in terms of power. NA I-4 vs NA V6. Turbo I-4 vs NA V6. Turbo I-4 vs Turbo V6. If one were to choose between Turbo I-4 and Turbo V6 for power, which one would one honestly go for? Durability of both? There is something you guys need to understand. I will explain with two brand of cars. A certain S-class 600 with 12 cylinders stated that engine oil is to be changed once every 2 years. What does that tell us? It's simple, the engine work effortlessly and not overworked like the I-4 counterparts that engine oil were instructed to be changed twice yearly. At higher vehicle speed, the rpm is lower compared to NA I-4 that becomes harsh, even at small 120 km/h. Let me use another one for example. Peugeot instructed that their EW engines in 406 (NA I-4s) timing belt are to be changed once every 60k km or 4 years, while for their ES engines in 406 (V6) the timing belt is to be replaced every 120k km or every 6 years. Now, when 407 succeeded 406, they increased the V6 timing belt renewal to 180k km or every 9 years, while the I-4s remain the 60k km or every 4 years. What does it mean? These engines use the same quality of belt and brands. Difference is that one is longer than the other. The point is, the stress on V6 engine is less than that on the I-4 engines, which was why the change interval is higher on V6. But they probably realized that even the 120,000 km change interval for V6 was too short, so they increased it to 180,000 km. Like I said, the same quality and brand of belts for both engines, yet one last longer in one of the engines. Because of what? Stress! An I-4 can last as long as the owner wants it to, likewise the I-6, V6, V8 or V12. But usage shouldn't be the same. The durability depends on the usability. The higher the rpm all the time, the more stress on the engine. Doing 180km on NA I-4 all the time will stress the engine out, because of engine speed that will maintain that vehicle speed with such engine. But on bigger engines or one with more cylinders, it will attain that vehicle speed at low engine speed, meaning, less stress. Ikenna |
expert101:"TDI have petrol engine". Sorry, you really know nothing about the Golf IV you claimed you have Ph.D. on. I guess because it has no Toyota badge is why its problematic and unreliable for you, right? The same Nigerians would tell you to run away from Peugeot cars, that they are very unreliable and problematic. Well, they can ask me how unreliable and problematic my 2 V6 lions have been for years of ownership so far. Mind virus at work. Ikenna |
Peacefullife:In summary, you still proved what I have said earlier. Guess work which usually leads to abuse. All you have explained is, "He said that, I think that, etc". All those while, have you ever plugged in PP2000 to find out what is wrong with the service battery and the front electric window lifter? The more you carryout guess work on that lion, the more problem you introduce in that system. Whatever that is wrong, originally, is stored in the ECUs, waiting for you to access and see. Who knows what other connection or bypass your electrician has done on the lion to make the faults go away. It's a luxury vehicle and need to be handled as such. Get a proper diagnostic tool (PP2000) to truly find out what is wrong, and not what your mechanic /electrician thought were the culprits. Since the engine is V6, the auto transmission would be 4HP20 and not AL4. You can easily convert it to manual. The ES9J4S (V6) engine in that bay can be metted to a BVM5 (5-speed manual transmission) specifically designed for that engine. 6-speed manual is for EW12 engines. The manual gearbox for that engine cost more than I-4 engine manual tranny. The V6 manual tranny cost about 70-80k, though you can get it cheaper, depending on where you stay. Then you will need the gearbox accessories (linkages, cables, etc), manual pedals and clutch components. The fuse your electrician probably replaced is called "Maxi fuse". Removing the Maxi fuse means disconnecting the service battery. Like Peugeot instructed, you need to remove the Maxi fuse first before disconnecting the service battery terminals. Scan that lion with a proper tool. Ikenna |
Peacefullife:I could see some form of abuse on the poor lion, from what you said above. Let me ask you, what do you think that caused cooling system fluid to mix with Transmission ATF in radiator? For a start, you said water? Is that what Peugeot asked you to use in that system? What usually leads to radiator blockage and leakage? If you know that, what then led to the oil and water mixture in the radiator? This same issue happens on most peoples vehicles with auto transmissions, irrespective of vehicle brand. What causes it? The 2nd battery mounted in the boot is called Service battery, which was only fitted on some, not all. Service battery powers most of the gadgets and ECUs, while the main battery in the engine bay handles starter and some other components. For you to complain the service battery no longer charges raise serious questions on the state of the wirings in that car. If I may ask, is that Lion factory LHD or converted RHD-LHD? Because, its the same Alternator bolted to the engine which auxiliary belt drives, is the same Alternator that charges Main battery in engine bay and Service battery in the boot. So if the Service battery refuses to charge, who tampered with the connection that takes power from Alternator to that battery? Are you saying because the service battery no longer charges, the drivers door will need to be changed for the glass/window regulator to function? What does a failed (likely abused) service battery charging connection got to do with non functional window regulator? Even if that battery powers that windows regulator, was that why the regulator failed? And to crown it all, will replacing the entire door the solution to a failed window regulator/lifter? What kind of electricians do you give that poor lion to troubleshoot? Notwithstanding, 607 is known for window lifter issues. But some models of 607 doors have 406 system. So, all you need (if thats what yours have) is to Buy 406 one, which is cheaper. But for those that use AC often, you have no Business with that chamber. I wouldn't know if the auto transmission in that Lion is AL4 or 4HP20, since you didn't state the engine. But manual conversion of any Lion is the simplest job to do for any good mechanic. It's simply a drop-in and bolt-on job. Peugeot makes provision for anyone that wants to carryout such modification or conversion in their auto trannies. I wonder why your mechanic couldn't figure it out till now. A manual gearbox for 4-cylinder 607 cost as low as 6-10k. What you complained of (except the window issue) is not different from what people have experienced in their 406s when the wrong hands touched them or when RHD-LHD conversions were badly done. Like I said earlier, I have studied both 406 and 607 systems, anyone that enjoys 406 as trouble-free car will find the same in 607. But anyone that finds 607 as no go-area, will not find ownership of 406 (D9) a pleasant experience. Ikenna |
Yesterday, Kaduna Lion owners meet and had a good day (get-together). Today, we the Abuja Lion owners also had end of year get-together and enjoyed ourselves as usual. Lions Den is the best place to be! Ikenna |
fishleg123:That's wondeful. Keep on roaring! Ikenna |
bravolad:FRSC issues Drivers Licence. My current Drivers Licence was issued by FRSC at FRSC. In fact, I did the data capture at FRSC headquarters at Zone 7, issued and collected at FRSC Utako. I paid into FRSC bank account. I applied for the licence renewal on FRSC website. Only thing VIO did was to examine if I knew how to drive. Every other thing was done at FRSC office, here in Abuja. FRSC not only produce the number plate, they allocate number plates too. Your personal and vehicle data is stored in FRSC database against the number plate. You can confirm the authenticity of number plate online on FRSC database/website, not VIO. VIO doesn't exist in all states of the federation. Even in states, you renew your drivers licence at FRSC not licencing office, unless you want to be issued fake licence. Ikenna |
Don't sell with the new number plate. It has become yours permanently. If the new owner or the vehicle is used in something illegal and the number is captured, its you that will be traced and apprehended. Your data is already saved in FRSC database for life against that number plate. You can re-register it on another vehicle of yours in your name, not on vehicle particulars not bearing your name. Ikenna |
Bossforeva:Ok. I would suggest you get a Diagbox (PP2000) as you are buying the 607. Because what kills these Lions is electrical abuse. But with PP2000, it will point at what is wrong, anytime something goes wrong, rather than open your bonnet for mehanics and electricians to introduce nightmares in your life. Problem with Nigerians is when they switch from Japs to Lions, they still use Lions with Japs owners mentality, forgetting that Peugeot is a European car. You dont mess with Euro cars electrics. With the PP2000, it will tell show the culprit making a lion to malfunction. All you need to know is log in with the VIN in Peugeot database and it will show you exactly the location of the culprit in the car and what it looks like. Even if you are scared to touch spanners, you can take it to a mechanic and ask him "Remove this and Put this". The Diagbox cost 25k. Anytime you are ready for it, you can contact me. Ikenna |
