masaratiti:What car? Ikenna |
For Lion owners who have not joined WhatsApp community, you are missing a lot. A lot of information is shared in both houses, like phone contacts of BSI specialists, mechanics and some DIY tips on Peugeot systems, including brand of parts best suited for Lions. Quite a lot of useful information on Lions have been disclosed by members. So, its up to you. Ikenna

suwas2003:Yes, it consumes more fuel when its lower than 90 degree Celsius. Just know this, the lower the coolant temperature, the higher the fuel consumption. The higher the coolant temperature, the lower the fuel consumption. Ikenna |
ogawisdom:If you had understood the functions of cooling system thermostat and coolant, in relation to engine oil, you would have had your answer. I always tell people, if you can, get a car with oil temperature gauge on the instrument panel. Its as important as coolant temperature that detrmines the longevity of engine lifespan if paid attention to. The warmer the engine oil, the better the lubrication of engine. The colder the oil, the lower the oil tempeature. The lower the oil temperature, the poor the lubrication. The poorer the poor lubrication, the more friction takes place on lubricating parts of engine. Oil temperature gets warmer as coolant gets hot, at cold start. Coolant Temperature gauge doesnt rise up faster while engine idles after cold start. It takes longer for it to rise. But when driven out immediately at low rpm, the coolant temperature gauge rise up faster due to load on the engine, via the help of thermostat and coolant. That coolant temperature gauge has risen to optimal temperature does not mean the engine is safe to be revved hard. Wait till oil temperature gauge gives you go ahead. Pay less attention to your speedometer when you start and drive out your car when engine is cold. Pay more attention on the Tachometer, whether you are on city road or expressway. For a start, whatever you do, DO NOT rev the engine beyond 3k rpm when oil temperature gauge is still at blue zone. Thicker engine oils takes longer for the tempearture to rise up. If you want your engine oil temperature to rise up quicker, go thinner oil. Its one of the reasons thinner oil conserves fuel. Removing your cooling system thermostat, connecting your fan to spin constantly on with ignition or engine on, pushing the rpm high at cold start, all these will kill your engine overtime because of the state you leave your engine oil. So, ogawisdom, tell your neighbor not to blame the witches in his village when it happens. Because, it will happen, the engine death. Ikenna |
ladycool430:My sister drives E46 320 Ci. At some point, she left the car with me for close to a month. During those days the car was with me, I was impressed of the fuel economy. I mean, an I-6 with impressive economy and auto tranny for that matter. Her own has sports steering wheel and lots of gadjets. I wonder if it were to be 323 Ci. Each time I am discussing with her and ask about the car, she would excitedly tell me "All is well with her". Believe me, its good to own a car you desire and really wanted. I remebered when I suggested Japs to her when she wanted me to help her pick a good car for her, she seriously frowned at me. Now, she is happy. My point is, don't buy what you don't like for peoples approval. Don't go for something because the world think its reasonable. Conformity is a big trap and thank God I realised that earlier before now and have become better since then. I created WhatsApp Lions community some weeks back. Now the community has grown to 80+ members. 2 houses, about to get to a 3rd house. Its has become a strong family. More than half members there switched from other brands. Some still own other brands, but have started testifying truly what they have missed dearly until they join Lion family; until they became Lions and Lionesses. They took that bold step against what people said, tried the brand and love it. Life is too short to live a boring one. I can't imagine going through all the stress of the day at work and other life endeavours, only for me to get behind the wheel and become bored on top of that. Take that risk and go for what you like. It wont kill you if it turns soar. Rather, you grow from it. Problems are opportunity for us to grow. Comfort zone sucks! You will find out you will remain where you are every year because you don't want to risk getting out there. The only thing that makes life meaningful is happiness. Without one, it makes no sense. Always go for something good that will make you happy. Every car or brand makes some people happy. Which car or brand you can afford makes you happy? Ikenna |

Homguy:It depends on the Turbo model. The phase 1 505 Turbo has lesser power, the same with 1985 unique model, I think. But the phase II Turbo with N9TEA engine will beat the V6 (ZN3J), since it has more power. I haven't driven a turbo one. But I find the V6 more attractive because of its smooth revving to red zone which the I-4 lacks. From the owners, it becomes harsh as engine speed increases, unlike the V6 becomes smoother and sweeter to listen to as the rpm increases up to red zone. Ikenna |

You are complaining? Hmm! Your case beta sef! In my case, na me carry my own 2 hands and my money, carry my Baby give someone to adjust simple Alternator belt that would make a little noise at cold start and stop after few minutes. Something I would have done myself. But I wanted some other person to chop from me. Guess what happened? The car was grounded since July till 2 weeks ago when I resurrected her again. just to adjust ordinary auxiliary belt. July, August, September, October. 4 months! That's the price I paid for allowing another person touch the bonnet for something I could easily do myself. I have told the full story to the WhatsApp Lions communities. So, your case is sugar. Mine? Hmm! Ikenna |

masaratiti:It sounds like the MFD (Multifunction Display) is faulty. Replace it with another. Cost about 2k. Heat seems to be the killer of the MFD. Ikenna |
damilola5019:Well, that's under mango tree talk. Ignore those tales. They are fables. Ikenna |
princeGbodi:You are welcome. Ikenna |
kaec:It looks like your pressure plate (aka clutch disc) is not fully depressed. I would check if air in the system (clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder). Ikenna |
damilola5019:Like I said in the other thread, tell us what you have heard to know how true they are. Ikenna |
damilola5019:What horror stories? Care to share, at least, one of them with us? Ikenna |
kaec:Really don't get most of what you said. If I could understand some of the symptoms you mentioned, the whole thing sounded like a clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder issue. It could be as simple as air in the system. Your pressure plate seems ok, unless I didn't get you clearly. Ikenna |

austin4real:Your car owners manual will state the recommended mileage for manual gearbox fluid renewal. For example, Peugeot 504 GL owners manual stated drain and refill manual gearbox oil every 30,000 km. But other cars owners manuals may tell you not to change your manual gearbox oil, that the filled one from factory its for life, like my SV D9. Some don't keep to that claim. They would replace every 100,000km. So, find out what your car owners manual says about your gearbox oil change interval. Ikenna |
austin4real:Sir, I am not sure I understand. What fluid exactly? Ikenna |
zsch:The 3008 is all over Abuja road, including 4008. So I am surprised you have not seen the Lion, unless you don't stay in Abuja. As for parts availability. Its a brand new vehicle. No tokunbo yet. So I don't expect you to start seeing parts in spare parts market, except in Peugeot dealerships scattered all over the country. You don't expect to service a brand new vehicle in under mango tree mechanic workshop, do you? Ikenna |

blakky97:Fortunately, you did slap yourself, with your very own hands. Because the reverse is the case in what you said above. If I may ask, how many security did you mount in your Camry tiny light? A lot of people have about 5 in those Camrys tiny light: factory immobilizer, factory alarm, aftermarket immobilizer & alarm, aftermarket steering lock rod, aftermarket pedal lock, aftermarket gear lock, etc. Oh! I forgot to add, car tracker. What about comprehensive insurance? All in one car just to scare thieves away from their daily bread. Why not ask C-class owners how many of them have all that in their cars or did all that for their cars? Funny enough, these Camry Tiny lights still get stollen even with all the above listed installed in them. What gives? ![]() Don't get me wrong please, there is nothing wrong with your Toyota Camry. They are good and serve the purpose they were designed for, point A to point B. But you need to know where your boundary stops while comparing it with other cars. Ikenna |
blakky97:It appears you really don't get the message. Conformity sucks! That's the message they were trying to pass across to to you. You have no first hand experience with the Benz C-class , yet you know all about the car. How does that sound, even to you? It make sense? Ikenna |
